My review kinda biased
The dreaded remake word, and turned out wasn't as bad as I fear. As a person that watched and loved the original (it was my first thai y genre), so I had my rose-colored bias about the original. Also to be noted I love Earn (definitely love Ngern) so I low-key shipping EarnNoh....I mean in my personal opinion Noh should've just date Earn instead being the side chick for Phun, a guy that want keep his cake and eat it too. But that's just my opinion and preference.
Compare to the original, the remake feels more like typical Asian highschool drama, more light....less hedonistic. It's cut many the girls' school drama which a plus point because it's concentrate the boys.
Many people hate Aim in the original because she cheated on Phun for no reason (to be fair later on Phun cheated on her with Noh), but in the remake they flesh out her.....so I kinda can't hate Aim in the remake because in the end she was being a highschool girl with controlling overbearing mother who wouldn't let her be herself, I think I might even sympathy with her because every highschoolers probably been there in a way.
And Yuri, she forever reminded me of my bestfriend.....two decades after highschool she's sadly still my bestfriend, dense as a brick, kinda dramatic but still ride and die even at my lowest. People can hate on Yuri but I love her.....in the original I even ship her with Pete even if it only last for a second š¤£
To be very honest I didn't get the chemistry of main leads, the remake didn't give heart fluttering as the original. Probably because Almond kinda give Phun that sulky-flirty diva Phun, while White was great in kicked puppy heartbroken Phun š¤£š¤£š¤£ Progress nailed Noh character, probably because he's in the same age as Noh, I got a dejavu as if I saw Captain's Noh in him.
Krit did fine job as Earn.....I still love Ngern, and forever think of Ngern as Earn whenever I re-read the novel. But Krit did pull my heart string over Earn's heartbroken moments as good as Ngern was.
Phop as Pete.....I don't want to be hater, maybe it wasn't fair to compare him to August as Pete, but Phop was so bland as Pete he's blending to the background. I invested more to Fi compare to him š¤¦š½š„²
All in it's better than expected remake, a lot more flirty and lighter the original.

Love Sick 2024 was an unexpectedly good watch
I don't usually write many reviews, but this series inspired me to share my thoughts! Iāve recently been in a bit of a series slump where nothing really caught my attention. When I first began watching Love Sick, I approached it with some hesitation, but Iām truly glad I gave it a chance. While the production in the first episode wasnāt the best, I kept watching because of the main leads and their amazing chemistry. Thankfully, starting from episode 2, the production really improved, and I found myself enjoying it more and more. The story may not be entirely new, but it has its own charm that makes it a delightful watch.
What I loved most were the main leads and their fantastic acting and chemistry. I appreciated that whenever a misunderstanding popped up, the leads communicated openly instead of relying on unnecessary drama that often leads to silly break-ups. Even the other love interests were really likable! The entire show felt so genuine and relatable. I also have to commend the casting team for casting actual teens this time around, and they truly nailed their roles. All the supporting characters had a wonderful dynamic, making it easy to get lost in their world.
I canāt wait to see more from the leads, especially with a bigger budget!

Simple but effective
Let me start by saying that I havenāt watched the original series. In any case, drawing a comparison with a 2014 series, a time when BL was still a very niche genre and not necessarily well-regarded by authorities, would be tricky. The storyline is simple, but no one ever promised us a deep, complex narrative. And yet, a few important topics are addressed. The actors are good, and for once, they actually seem to be the right age for their characters.
In the end, this series is well-executed and will likely appeal more to a younger audience.

SO Much Better...
As someone who made it through the original Love Sick from 2014 AND the interminably long (36 episodes) Love Sick Season 2 from 2015, I am happy to admit that this 2024 updated version was sooooooo much better! We're still living in a dream high school where most of the boys are gay and just about everyone is accepting and supportive. Here are my pros and cons:
PROS
PROGRESS (Noh). I can't say enough about this guy. He is so talented and, while Phun was supposed to be the "handsome" one, Progress has a charisma that leaps off the screen at you. I think he carried the whole series practically singlehandedly and I look forward to seeing him in other projects.
PACING. Not too long, not too short. The story moved along nicely and checked all the boxes. It was a fun watch.
MUSIC. I liked the catchy OSTs. And some of these boys can really sing!
GL STORY LINE. They did a good job with the AimLee plot line. GL needs more representation.
NOH IS GAY. I liked that, in the last episode, Noh flat out confirmed that he is gay when confronted by Jeed. None of the usual (and insulting) "I'm just gay for you" crap.
CONS
ALMOND (Phun). I found him really, REALLY dull and uninteresting. He didn't match Noh's energy and, in fact, I was cheering for Earn and Noh to get together. A much better pairing!
I could nit pick at some things, but there wasn't anything else that particularly bothered me.
It's an 8.5 from me.

When will reflect BL shows realities???
The "delusional" shy `fake female acting“ reflecting 19th century is so depressing ... It was in the 1st show and repeats, out of what?, tradition?, here again! Beginning of EP11: waking up and crying, because your lover lies next to you and you nozzle him, or the "Let“s shower" avoiding shy-prudery-dance ... so anoying and so not real. Especially for gays and even lesbian!I know these "stories" are written by hetero women for hetero women in mind and as merket.
But when do the writers finally reach realities? Realities of LGBTQIA+ lives and life?
Being shy in the public I can understand ... but in private in this "clean woman" behavior, again and again???
I am short to drop the show!
BTW: the Phun actor of the 1st show, being asked if he is gay ... HELL NO!!! Okay he never got any lead, only minoe supporting roles after ... the Noh actor made a similar sniding answer ...

A GOOD REMAKE TO WATCH!!!
I usually don't like watching remake because i can't help but to compare it to the original one. But LOVE SICK 2024 HITS DIFFERENT, I love this series so far. Idk how to explain but they bring back the real romance feels in thai bl, it's been awhile since i felt this. The casts are very young but they're already good in acting for a debut esp the lead casts (Almond and Progress, even their names sound weirdly cute Hahaha). Their chemistry is on point and i can't wait for other side couples to introduce as well.
Another thing i like about this remake is that they still followed the plot but changed some parts of the storyline which made it better and became modernized. This is all i can say for now since it's still ongoing, but YOU GUYS SHOULD GIVE THIS BL SERIES A CHANCE.

Im glad this is better than original
The chemistry between the characters was easily shown up even tho it is it first episode. Lovesick 2024 is one of the best thai series in 2024 in fact that the storyline of this portray some betrayal(when noh cheated to yuri being in a secret relationship with phun) and how to cope with the teenage problems this series also tackle the acceptance of lgbtq+ community. Im glad that the characters in this series is a lot more few than 2014 because if there's many character it will cause confusion and may result to boredom of the watcher. Great jobWas this review helpful to you?
Phun Noh was a tailormade roles for AlmondProgress
I started watching this series without watching OG version. Both Almond and Progress have nailed it and they both completely stole the whole show. Phun Noh was a tailormade roles for them. Though i was little disappointed with that mirror kiss, the shot was greatly captured especially the reflection of phun face on mirror, it was really amazing. Highly Recommended. It has great repeat value. Other than main couple i liked Earn Pete part and the actor who did Earn also did a great Job.Was this review helpful to you?

The Performers Deserved Better
I hate to be so brutally honest, but this is one of the worst BLs of 2024. Literally, everything about this series, except perhaps the acting, was uninspiring. Although the young performers did a āyeomanās jobā in trying to keep this shipwreck afloat, they alone could not salvage this complete mess from sinking. Honestly, to say otherwise, is living in a fantasyland and not dealing with any sense of reality. It is a tepid story with a fragmental screenplay, ineptly directed, disjointly executed, and undoubtedly should never have been (re)made. The only plus about this series literally is that they had the appropriate aged actors and actresses for the roles. They were young, attractive, innocent in real life, and tried their best to make sense of a story that was essentially senseless. Full disclosure, I did not watch the first āLove Sickā, so this was all ānewā to me. Thus, I cannot compare it to the original. Besides, this is a stand-alone production and ought to be judged on its own merits or faults. Was this review helpful to you?
Oh young love
Love sick is taking me back to my highschool day that full of memories that you make and can reminisce forever. The cast, director, writer, all doing great job.
I dive into this series without watching the OG love sick, so thankfully it's live up to it's old series.
All in all this is a great series to watch if you like highschool love, friendship and memories that last forever.

This is one of the best
All my life as a BL Fan. I've watch like 97 percent of the BL series produce. But i tell you this is one of the best. The character is superb. When the time you watch this movie youll be like: Ohhh they've been to many acting scene already. Because they act like they have the 100 percent of emotions like they get it all. From their stand down to their emotions, I give my best compliment. yowww the best!
What make it one, best is that they really give life to the character way back 2014. Like its been how many years, Who would have thought about this, right?!
I love how the artist bring fictional character to life. BEST!
Cheers to all the cast- Tia51
Hoping to have more series to come.

10/10
its a perfect 10 for me.. no dull moment for every episode. and i even post some clips of this series in my tiktok acct. the cast is young , handsome/cute and new but their acting is so professional most especially Progress his acting does'nt like he is just 15yrs old. This series does not have kissing scene but its understandable because the main cast is just below 18. I wish progressa and almond will have another BL series. Was this review helpful to you?
