It is so good

I don’t even know where to begin! I’m having such an amazing time watching this drama. Park Jeong Min as Jae Yoon is just the perfect mix of adorable and hilarious—his acting skills are top-notch, as expected. The storyline is so unique, completely different from the usual zombie series. What makes it even better is how they’ve managed to balance the thrilling plot with comedy, keeping viewers engaged and excited for what’s next.

Now, about Kim Jisoo—there’s no denying that she’s one of the best idol actresses, if not the best. Anyone who says otherwise is just a hater, lol. From Snowdrop to Newtopia, her growth over the years has been incredible. Her on-screen presence has become so powerful, and she fully brings Young Joo to life. I’m beyond excited to see how Young Joo’s story develops! The writing and comedic timing in this series are simply perfect. This is a must-watch—trust me, you won’t regret it!

This is the first time I've seen a zombie drama with a comedy genre. this is really good. GEEZ the plot is not boring and is very fresh. Character traits are also pleasant, not monotonous, such as funny, tense, annoyed, sad, etc. This is truly a new breakthrough for the zombie theme, where zombie dramas rarely have comedy elements. I don't know if I want to review how good this drama is even though it's only episode 2 but it's already this exciting hahaha. I don't know why many people give low ratings even though the drama is exciting. Yes, if you look at the cast, one of the super stars, there are bound to be haters. but for me, if you don't like the person, don't ever destroy their work. that's so mean LOL. if you don't like it then don't watch it. Cheers to the cast, director, crew and others. Don't worry about these cons, after all, there are many people who like the drama in the field. can't wait for the next episode

It's very fun so far

It is surprisingly good! i am not into romance during apocalypse, so i didn't put much expectation on it. But The first two episodes has completely proved me wrong! I really loved the goofiness of both the main leads, and also the supporting characters! Looking forward to the next episodes and seeing other characters introduction! This sure will be a fun journey ahead. Don't turn out as a Ktrauma please, ive had enough of tears and cry huhu

I really love newtopia

Newtopia is really unique from other zombie thrillers is its well-timed comedic moments. The humor feels natural and adds a much-needed balance to the intensity of the storyline. The witty dialogue, quirky characters, and absurd situations create a lighthearted atmosphere, making the more dramatic moments hit harder. It's rare to see a zombie series where you're not just rooting for survival but also for the characters to find joy and laughter in their chaotic world.

It's a comedy, fun zombie series

Newtopia, has been receiving mixed reactions, but it’s clear that the show was never meant to be a thriller—it’s a comedy. Those expecting intense suspense might be missing the point, but for those who appreciate the genre, it delivers well. The cast, including Jisoo, has done an incredible job bringing their characters to life with charm and humour. The drama offers lighthearted entertainment, and Jisoo continues to prove her versatility as an actress. If you enjoy well-acted comedy dramas, Newtopia is definitely worth watching! And Personally, I loved the cast and their performances—they did an amazing job!"

Newtopia: When Your Love Life is Deadlier Than the Zombies?‍♀️?‍♂️

Just two episodes in, and I’m already hooked—so much so that if I ever find myself in a zombie apocalypse, I’d want this cast by my side. Newtopia delivers a thrilling yet hilarious take on survival, making the dire situation unexpectedly entertaining.

At its core, the drama follows “Sweet Jae Yun,” a late-drafted soldier, and his girlfriend, “Darling Young Joo,” who are on the verge of a breakup when a zombie outbreak flips their world upside down. What sets Newtopia apart is its fresh premise— a secret military airbase hidden within a high building in Seoul. The setting alone adds a unique twist to the genre.

The casting feels meticulously chosen to fit the narrative, with each character bringing their own charm and wit to balance the nail-biting tension with well-timed humor. It’s an unconventional approach for a zombie drama, considering most in the genre lean heavily into pure horror or dystopian despair. Jisoo and Park Jeong Min, in particular, stand out with performances that make the absurdity of the situation all the more engaging.

That said, no drama is without its flaws. The pacing feels uneven at times, sudden scene transitions can be jarring, and some CGI moments could use more polish. But honestly? The sheer energy, comedic timing, and chemistry of the cast overshadow those shortcomings—at least for now. I have high hopes that as the series picks up, it’ll smooth out those rough edges and deliver an even more gripping ride.

If the first two episodes are anything to go by, Newtopia is shaping up to be an exciting, unpredictable, and refreshingly lighthearted take on the zombie apocalypse genre. I’m definitely sticking around for the rest.

Newtopia one of my favorites series

Jaeyoon and Youngjoo, despite their deep affection for each other, face the usual issues of long-distance relationships—misunderstandings, communication breakdowns, and the frustrations of only connecting via sporadic phone calls and video chats. The ongoing zombie attacks create constant interruptions, making their moments of connection both hilarious and heartbreaking. Adding to the chaos is Jaeyoon’s relationship with his fellow soldier, Ra In-ho, whose antics provide plenty of comic relief during the most intense moments.

Characters and Chemistry
Jaeyoon, the tough and stoic soldier, contrasts wonderfully with Youngjoo, who is trying her best to stay optimistic despite the separation. Their chemistry is undeniable, with Jaeyoon's vulnerability shining through during their video calls or brief moments of contact. The series excels at showing their love, even as it’s constantly put to the test by the chaos of their world.

ZOMBIE COMEDY

This is not melo thriller, there's shouldn't be comparison except with comedy horror sections.

Starts with graphics and musics that give a hint of comedic theme so any sane people will expect this to be unserious. I did not expect the zombies to be that scary, given the whole other aspects of the drama.

I love the female character not being too brash to show confident woman, nor is she too timid to show the girly side of her. The BF is funny guy, pretty girl do prefer funny partner. He shows bit of leadership when zombies scenes come.

There's too much side story for the army sides in 1st episode that I don't like because I'm watching this for female characters and there are only 2, both are in separate team. I want the next 6 episodes show more of main lead equally and very little of army, because I don't care if the old men are scares of Martial Laws.

Might rate it less if the next episodes are not like what I want.

It's actually a funny drama until I watch second episode. About Jisoo , she improved a lot still you guys behaving like that this drama all about Jisoo . See there are so many actors acting, they're amazing. First episode is actually boaring as a kdrama fan I think so. But the second episode is impressive. It still have more 6 episodes, give a chance. And if you don't like this just ignore not everything will be your choice. Don't pollute the environment of comments section
