Nailed it!

Oh gosh. This really puts you at the edge of your seat with each single episode.
I was really looking forward to the drama cuz of the cast but oh my god, the story mostly nailed it. It was such a great circle wrapped with mysteries and suspense from all around. Really i at first thought this will be like all the characters are related to each other some how, then as I was in the middle of ep 2 or 3 I was like nah, but oh god, oh my god towards the end is the real reveal. It's just ahhhh!!!!
And I just have 1 complaint, it's fine, nothing minor and it happens I guess mostly in such scenarios but when someone gets stuck in fire and almost gets burned, how the hell does their lucious hair stays intact? No problem tho, just saying. It's not a complaint tbh... Hehe ignore it.

A Powerful and Gripping Korean Drama

I just finished watching Karma, and I'm still processing everything that happened. It was the kind of show that digs its claws into you and doesn't let go until the last scene. Let me break down my thoughts on it. First off, the premise itself is captivating. I'm always drawn to the idea of intertwined destinies and how past actions ripple through generations. Karma took this concept and ran with it, weaving a complex tapestry of revenge, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of justice (or what the characters perceive as justice). It wasn't a simple revenge plot; it was layered with moral ambiguities and the constant question of whether the ends truly justify the means.

The casting was brilliant. Every single actor embodied their role with such intensity and nuance. Lee Hee Joon as debt-ridden, amoral Park Jae-Yeong, who takes extreme measures for money to pay off his debt, brought a compelling complexity to his character. Shin Min-a as Lee Ju-yeon was phenomenal. She conveyed so much with just her eyes – the pain, the resolve, the inner turmoil. The same goes for Park Hae-Soo, Kim Sung-Kyun, Lee Kwang-Soo, and Gong Seung-Yeon. Each added depth and weight to the overarching narrative. There wasn't a weak link in the entire ensemble, which is crucial for an emotionally charged drama.

The writing was sharp and intelligent. The plot unfolded gradually, revealing secrets and connections quickly to keep me hooked. There were moments when I thought I had it all figured out, only for a new twist to be thrown in that completely changed my perspective. The writers did a fantastic job of building suspense and creating cliffhangers that had me desperately hitting the "next episode" button. What I particularly appreciated was how they explored the motivations of each character. Even the characters who did terrible things weren't portrayed as purely evil; you could often understand, if not condone, the events that led them down their dark paths. This added a layer of tragic realism to the story.

Visually, the drama was stunning. The cinematography was beautiful, with each shot carefully framed to enhance the mood and emotion of the scene. Using lighting and color palettes was particularly effective in creating a sense of foreboding or highlighting moments of emotional intensity. The settings, whether they were the opulent mansions of the wealthy or the darker and shabbier living conditions of the less fortunate, felt authentic and contributed to the show's overall atmosphere. The soundtrack was also incredibly well-done, perfectly complementing the on-screen action and amplifying the emotional impact of key moments. There were certain instrumental pieces that I'll probably be searching for online because they were just so evocative.

However, Karma wasn't always easy to watch. It dealt with some heavy themes—desperation, betrayal, loss, violence, and the cyclical nature of revenge. There were moments that were emotionally draining and even uncomfortable to watch. The characters went through a lot, and as a viewer, I felt their pain and struggles. It's not a light and fluffy drama one can just breeze through; it requires attention and emotional investment. One aspect I found particularly thought-provoking was exploring the concept of karma itself. The drama didn't offer any easy answers about fate or destiny. And how quickly a situation can escalate, going from bad to significantly worse, potentially a thousand times worse. Instead, it presented a world where actions have consequences, sometimes immediate and sometimes spanning generations. It made me think about the weight of our choices and how they might impact us and those around us, even those we may never know.

While I thoroughly enjoyed Karma, I can see how it might not be for everyone. Its intense themes and sometimes slow-burn pacing might not appeal to viewers looking for something lighter or more fast-paced. There were also a few plot threads that, while ultimately resolved, felt a little convoluted. However, these minor issues didn't detract significantly from my overall enjoyment of the drama. Karma is a powerful and gripping Korean drama that left a lasting impression on me. The stellar performances, the intricate plot, and the thought-provoking exploration of its central theme all contributed to a truly compelling viewing experience. If you're looking for a drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat, make you think, and possibly even shed a few tears, I highly recommend giving Karma a watch. Just be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster!

A TRUE PLOT TWIST DRAMA

Wow! Wow!! Wow!!!🫢 KARMA IS REALLY A BITCH!!

I actually watched it when it dropped and I was mesmerised by the plot twist!! I never expected things to turn out the way it did in this drama!!

From the main characters to the supporting characters did absolutely great!!

Karma is really a bitch and it was served with cold beer at the end!!

The drama is so short that I felt they should have given us more but I’m not a selfish person😃

The end was my fav twist about the doctor, till this day, I’m still thinking about the whole drama 😭.

Karma

The story is about a man who wants to get money from the insurance of his father. But to get the insurance, his father must be died by accident. So he's hiring a killer to kill his father. Later on, it's become a trouble since it's not going well because a lot of variables and people are involved in that case. All of them get their own karma after what they have done. It's quite interesting to see how the karma is becoming real.

KARMA IS REAL

Oh my god!!! If you know me, you know i LOVE revenge stories. Oh my god, the satisfying ending of every villain just brought me so much joy. The fact that everyone is somehow connected and everyone got to meet their demise for their sins- just wow. What an amazing kdrama.

I finished everything in one sitting, such a good show that keeps you interested and entertained! Every character makes you second guess who’s the good guy who’s the bad guy. The plotwists in here were crazy.

Amazing! Really good. Lowkey wish it had more episodes…either way, for such a short series, really well done and nicely finished!

Intertwined by Fate

Karma is a 6 episodes Korean thriller series that revolves around six lives, each navigating their own personal battles with past mistakes and the weight of their decisions.

Every episode has a tense setting, characters with a past and a top-notch storytelling that keeps you guessing till the end. What makes Karma stand out is how these individual stories intertwine, building a larger picture of fate and consequence. The theme of karma is ever-present, with characters’ wrong choices haunting them in often tragic ways. The acting and emotional depth is on point.

Karma is not only an intense but thought-provoking watch. It wasn’t just the twists and suspense that kept me hooked—it was the deep dive into human nature and the exploration of how even small decisions can alter the course of our lives.

My Rating : 4.5/5

Hard start but Twists everywhere

It took 3 episodes before the thrills and Twists come around. The beginning was all to build the back story. There were times I paused to figure out who was doing what. In subtitles there were character names instead of people names so, know the characters. I liked having to try to figure out all of the kinks throughout the story. I had to think. The title is the ending.

The characters were played well by all. They were well developed. All got what they deserved.

I don't think it would be a good rematch since you already know the ending.

I don't think the review ratings are as good as it really is.

"Karma" is a suspense about 6 people and how they are connected to each other.

The drama begins with a man who is completely burned and is rescued and brought to a hospital. He manages to survive and when he says his name, the doctor on duty is shocked, as if she were seeing a ghost. What develops in the drama goes back exactly to the relationship between these two characters.

Everything that happens is connected, all the characters and all the situations, really making it clear that karma comes to those who do something wrong... it may take time, but eventually it comes.

The person we have known as Jae Yeong all this time actually stole the identity of the real Jae Yeong, who is the man who hired someone to kill his father and get the insurance money, he is also the person who raped Joo Yeon when she was a teenager. The fake Jae Yeong is actually called Beom Jun, he and Yoo Jeong are a pair of thieves who trick men and then blackmail them for money, but they are also connected to Joo Yeong, since her rape was planned by these two.

The whole drama is a tangle of connections, which are slowly developed throughout the episodes, but basically all the people who die, deserved it. Beom Jun's ending is incredible, because he thinks he got away with everything, stealing Jae Yeong's identity, but in addition to not getting the insurance money, he also ends up dying at the hands of Joo Yeon's boyfriend, who coincidentally works for the loan sharks that the real Jae Yeong owed money to. It's a fantastic scene!

There was no way it could go wrong with a cast like this: Park Hae Soo, Shin Min Ah, Kim Nam Gil, Kim Sung Kyun, Lee Kwang Soo and Lee Hee Joon <3

Tutto molto bello!
