Shadow Punisher / 2026
Shadow Punisher — I love it. It’s dynamic, beautiful, mysterious, and spectacular, featuring secrets and investigations. The locations are magnificent, the soundtrack is atmospheric, and the plot is gripping—but the cast is the real highlight. I was looking forward to this series because of Luo Yunxi; he is a true professional who conveys a full spectrum of emotions using nothing but his eyes and subtle facial expressions. As Stanislavski would say: "I believe it!"Was this review helpful to you?
highly recommend
I only watched this one Chinese TV series this year 2026, because of the male actor Leo Luo . His 'till the end of the moon' was really good, and this one is too! The plot is very tight, with lots of traditional Chinese cultural elements, really stunning. The folk songs in it are interesting, and the beginning OST is really unique. Was this review helpful to you?

My thoughts on watching Shadow Punisher
Shadow Punisher is really good! The Chinese-style horror atmosphere is off the charts—those mask rituals, puppets, and witchcraft scenes gave me chills right from the start. The pacing is fast and never drags, with episodic cases and main story twists that make you binge one episode after another. Luo Yunxi’s dual-role performance as Li Si is amazing, the action scenes are smooth and sharp, and the trio has no romantic subplot, focusing entirely on their work, with all of them being smart. If you like historical suspense and detective stories, just go for it—five stars! Was this review helpful to you?
What a great premiere
Just started this and I'm completely blown away. From the very first scene, everything clicks — the visuals, the music, the acting, all of it comes together perfectly. The cinematography is gorgeous, every shot feels like it was crafted with care, and the soundtrack adds so much to the mood and emotion of each moment. The performances are convincing and full of feeling, making the characters easy to connect with right away. It pulls you in and doesn't let go, leaving you eager to hit play on the next episode. There's a real sense of quality here — the kind that makes a drama stand out from the crowd. I'm only at the beginning, but I can already tell this one is something special. If the rest holds up, this could be a new favorite. 10/10Was this review helpful to you?
Luo Yunxi is a great actor
Luo Yunxi’s most outstanding trait is this: not only is his appearance peerlessly handsome, but his bearing is that of a true ancient Chinese scholar, with poise that looks as if he stepped straight out of an old Chinese painting. To possess all three of these qualities already makes him one of a kind. On top of that, he is a talented actor! He also has a beautiful voice! His skin is smooth and luminous! He has that signature reddish hue at the outer corners of his eyes! And he can write beautiful Chinese calligraphy with a writing brush! He must be a transmigrator from another era — I don’t know exactly which timeline he came from, but he is definitely a time‑traveller. His portrayal of Li Si is absolutely brilliant. Was this review helpful to you?
A spectacular drama
Shadow Punisher is quite a fantastic drama. The story is attractive. The performance of the main character Leo Luo is perfect. He is so elegant. I could say he is a symbol of Chinese culture in drama. I really love his performance. And the music, the scene setting and atmosphere are all great. It's a little scary but it's quite Chinese mysterious. Everyone who loves detective will love this TV series. I sincerely recommend it. It's worth watching. Was this review helpful to you?
Luo Yun Xi never disappoints
It’s not trying to be shocking or gory—it’s all about tension, atmosphere, and slow-burn mind games. The action is clean and stylish, the soundtrack is moody, and the twists actually caught me off guard.Luo Yun Xi’s drama never disappoints! His micro-expressions are incredible—he can convey so many different emotions with just a flicker in his eyes, and it makes the character feel real. He never overacts; every pause and shift in tone is deliberate, and that’s what kept me glued even in the quieter moments.
Can’t wait to see the remaining episodes!

Shadow Punosher is a great drama in China!
Luo Yunxi's new drama "Shadow Punisher " is definitely worth watching! This drama ingeniously combines three elements: ancient costume mystery and suspense, folk strange cases, and the world of the feudal court. Its appeal is at its peak. The entire drama meticulously designs six bizarre cases, using a pure unit detective investigation model. The pace is extremely tight and not at all sluggish. It is based on traditional folk customs, and the entire story is closely tied to "strange and bizarre". The cases are full of wild imagination, and the artistic atmosphere of Chinese mystery is extremely exquisite.

A Masterclass in Acting: Xi Ge’s Mesmerizing and Brilliant Portrayal of Li Si (Master Qingyang)!
Shadow Punisher stands out as an absolute masterpiece in the historical fantasy and mystery genre, and a massive part of its monumental success is driven by the breathtaking lead performance of our beloved Xi Ge. Stepping into the complex role of Li Si, also famously known as Master Qingyang, Xi Ge completely commands the screen from the very first episode, proving once again why he is one of the most talented actors of his generation. What makes his portrayal so deeply captivating is how flawlessly he navigates the character's intricate dual identity. On the surface, he perfectly embodies the ultimate scholarly grace, refined elegance, and commanding presence expected of Lord Qingyang's high-status son. However, underneath that noble exterior lies a brilliant, sharp-witted mind. As he secretly gets involved with the Imperial Detective Bureau, Xi Ge brilliantly reveals the character's tactical genius, unmatched mechanical arts skills, and razor-sharp logical deduction used to unravel dangerous conspiracies and bizarre supernatural mysteries.
His meticulous attention to detail is truly phenomenal. Every subtle micro-expression, every sharp gaze during intense investigations, and his effortlessly graceful, fluid movements during action sequences elevate the character to an entirely new level of depth. Xi Ge does not just play Li Si; he genuinely breathes life into him, successfully balancing an aura of profound mystery with an underlying sense of righteousness and charm. It is an unforgettable, multi-layered lead performance that keeps you completely hooked. This drama is a phenomenal watch, and it deserves a flawless 10/10 rating without a single doubt!

Genius Plot, Flawless Twists, and the Breathtaking Brilliance of Xi Ge's Li Si
Shadow Punisher is an absolute masterpiece of a thriller. The plot is incredibly genius because it connects various dark, supernatural folklore cases into one giant imperial political conspiracy. The pacing keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the layered plot twists constantly shatter all your theories. However, the true soul of this drama is Xi Ge (Luo Yunxi)’s phenomenal performance as Li Si (Young Master Qingyang). Li Si is a brilliantly complex, morally grey character. On the outside, he is the ultimate elegant and high-IQ scholar who uses his unmatched intellect and his iconic 'Liang Tian Chi' to solve impossible mysteries. But on the inside, Xi Ge (Luo Yunxi) portrays a deeply calculative and sharp mastermind who has infiltrated the bureau for his own secret mission of personal vengeance. He captures this internal conflict perfectly through his flawless micro-expressions, making Li Si one of the most compelling main leads in C-drama history. A well-deserved 10/10 for this incredible show streaming on iQIYI!"
