Comfy beautiful little series

This series was such a comfortable watch as it didn't really prolong any conflicts and was full of genuine connections. With it's 12 episodes, I didn't feel like there was any time I thought that the things happening on screen are unnecessary, everything was paced very well. Let's dig in deeper:

The portrayal of an introverted character that doesn't have a lot of friends honestly hit close to home. I could relate to Diew's anxiety in front of other people. With that said I am glad that he had Game, his best friend, to spend time with in and after classes. For me, it seemed like perfectly okay and nice life. With that said, enter God!

I enjoyed every little interaction between Diew and God. God is very green flag character, which I really appreciate as a portrayal of healthy friendship and relationship is something very comfortable to watch for me. It was beautiful how God respected all Diew's wishes and how careful he was when interacting with him, so Diew didn't feel uncomfortable in any way (like checking if it's ok to touch his hand while teaching him basketball or being ready to instantly stop touching him when they suddenly got close on the sleepover).
It was sad that God's jealousy took over him so intensely regarding Dr. Pi. But nobody's perfect and until then we were able to see only God "the perfect boyfriend". I was glad that they gave each other time and then talked it out calmly.
It was also a joy to see them getting more and more comfortable with each other as time passed.

Second pair, Beer and Wan, was interesting to watch. I didn't really like the cliché of "what happens if we break up one day", but it was okay.

I liked the (subtle) relationship between Game and Win. And I appreciated moments when Game and Diew interacted and Win and God just looked at them lovingly (reminded me a lot of Love in the Air, haha).

I didn't really enjoy Jane playing a questionably bad character, because I don't enjoy shallow characters, her only motivation seemed to be famous. But I can still understand that maybe she didn't have any friends and thought that maybe being famous could help her. But like, no one sane would ask seemingly uncomfortable person three times to do modeling... BUT! I really like that she got her redemption arc lol, and was chill at the very end.

With Dr. Pi, I don't even know what to say :_D His group of friends from the past was so evil for no reason? Like, why would you say such a mean things about boyfriend of your friend? Well, didn't make sense to me... I was glad when he walked out and let Diew breathe. I don't really believe his apology, as just a few episodes before he was stirring things up with God. But I don't really care as long as he didn't make a reappearance.


The family stuff at near end was a very important part of the story and I loved it. I deeply adored how Diew stood up for himself by saying: "Can you stop pressuring me?" when his mother was trying to emotionally ambush him. On the other hand I really liked the self-reflection his mother went through after that and their clear conversation after that. Don't we all love healthy communication in all aspects of life.

The grandpa was the star all along. Such a nice guy! I liked how he managed to be there for both his grandson and his daughter in all difficult situations, very caring of him. My favourite line from him was: "Your love needs to have a space for him (Diew) to grow." as he said it to Diew's mom, that man is just spitting facts in the most caring way possible.

Acting: I didn't have any problems with none of the cast. I think all played their roles well.

Music: I am normally listening to other genres, but I appreciate that the lyrics matched the story very well.


This review was compiled from notes I made when watching the series, which I normally don't really do, but I did enjoy this series profoundly. I liked the vibes, I liked the all-embracing communication, I liked the affirmations, I liked the character growth and the whole message it sent: "...maybe extroversion and introversion aren't fixed things."

Beautifully Executed Backstory

After watching this series I adore how the backstory was done. From my perspective I could understand every action that Diew took even when it caused misunderstandings. It is not easy to confide in your partner when in your previous relationship that person did even give you, showing your vulnerability to them the light of day. It’s like in one ear out the other. Also, at some points I identified with Diew. Especially the relationship with Diew and his mother. I can completely understand not being able to seek solace from your mother or really any other family member, no matter how much time we spend together or how much energy either party puts in to cultivate the relationship between each other. Both Diew and his Mom had their own struggles and they executed the reconnection very well. From the Mom and hurt daughter at the hospital, to the conversation between Diew’s grandfather and Diew’s Mother. The disconnect of Diew and his Mom that began from childhood was finally able to reunite and they could truly understand each other. I really will miss BigPark, hopefully they work together again.

A sweet romance between Big and Park exploring the introvert/extrovert theme.

PLOT: Diew, a very introverted student, enjoys his quiet life with only one friend and his pet tortoise. But the arrival of God (an extroverted, almost hyperactive person) in the apartment next door disrupts his equilibrium. God gradually tames Diew, helps him overcome his fears, and integrates him into his group of friends (and into his bed :).

+++ A very cute romance, with Big playing a total green flag. Great chemistry between the couple, with a lot of sweet scenes.
+++ Fast-paced direction
+++ The theme explored (introvert/extrovert) is interesting and handled with intelligence and subtlety.

### The ex-boyfriend character is very unlikeable (and not very believable).
### Limited budget (costumes, sets) but well used.
### Some effects are a bit awkward.

=> Good series, especially if you like Big & Park (and I ship them :)

PLOT: Diew, étudiant très introverti, aime sa petite vie calme avec 1 ami et sa tortue. Mais l'arrivée de God (extraverti limite hyperactif) ds l'appartement d'à côté, bouleverse son équilibre. God va peu à peu apprivoiser Diew, effacer ses peurs et l'intégrer ds son gpe d'amis (et ds son lit :).
+++ Romance très cute, avec Big en Green Flag total. Belle alchimie ds ce couple, avec bcp de sweet scènes.

+++ Le thème abordé (introverti / extraverti) est intéressant et abordé avec intelligence et subtilité.

### Personnage de l'ex très antipathique (ex-lover peu crédible)

First impressions

So far although I find it a bit boring sometimes it's decent all around. It's the first time I have seen a drama based around MBTI and although I am a keen believer that your MBTI is influenced by your surroundings and situation, I am keen on how they plan on developing the story/angst.

The first issue I encountered was the presentation of Diew as an introvert. I don't know if the writer just picked out the stereotypical traits that introverts had, but I found myself just dissociating with it (as a fellow introvert and INTJ to be specific). I can understand that some introverts are more reserved than others. Still, I would have loved to see more depth to his character as all that is being portrayed is a silent kid who is somewhat afraid of strangers and panics easily when faced with social situations. Introverts are a lot more complex and not just cut and paste and I would love if they touch on the subject. If a drama is going to be based around personality types I would expect them to show the different ways introverts can communicate, feeling drained socially, the difficulties of navigating through social situations/daily life, and how you can change from being an anxious introvert to a social introvert or even breaking down myths. But perhaps I am thinking too deeply about this series.

Secondly, I am not a turtle expert but that cage that they are keeping the turtle seems way too small to simulate the turtle. The main reason why I am mentioning it is due to the representation of Diew as a turtle lover. I would assume that if one loves an animal a lot and that animal makes up a big part of their personality and life they should do their proper research and try to provide the absolute best for their pet. Although I don't doubt Diew's love for his turtle, I would have just loved to see a more knowledgeable pet owner.

I love how God is always respectful of Diew's boundaries and never crosses them by making sure he is comfortable in their relationship at all times. Although I find the 'talking without seeing each other's faces' ridiculous I love how God does his very best to respect Diew's wishes which includes making sure his friends don't make Diew uncomfortable.

The communication between God and Diew so far is amazing especially when it comes to expressing their thoughts and emotions clearly. I love their balcony talks as it's the only time where I feel that Diew's personality shines rather than the one-dimensional side that is portrayed in his everyday life. I am also eager to see how their communication evolves in their relationship.

The series is overall decent (the mixing for the OST is interesting, to say the least) but I hope they develop the storyline more going down.

Clichêzinho gostoso

Que série gostosinha. Não é uma história mirabolante e nem revolucionária, é simples, mas soube fazer bem nessa simplicidade.

Sério, eu tenho uma lista só de séries colegiais e universitárias que eu fico empurrando com a barriga, porque eu já enjoei desse tema. A Tailândia saturou tanto esse tipo de história que parece tudo a mesma coisa: drama adolescente, muitas vezes tóxico, que roda, roda, roda e não chega a lugar nenhum. Eu peguei abuso. Mas aí decidi criar coragem e começar a limpar essa lista, assistir ou dropar de vez. E comecei por Monster Next Door. E que acerto, puta que pariu. Que acerto.

Essa série é uma delícia porque não foca na “trajetória universitária” em si, mas nos dilemas pessoais dos personagens. E eu me vi demais no Diew. Pessoas introvertidas raramente são bem retratadas nos dramas, e aqui foi representado de forma bem decente. Uma pessoa introvertida não tem mil amigos, não curte contato físico, nem aglomeração. E tudo isso foi mostrado com tanta sensibilidade que eu me senti ali, naquele lugar. Inclusive, a parte de ser chamada de “estranha”, vivi isso no ensino médio. Sofri bullying por ser quieta e reservada, por não conseguir me comunicar direito. Eu falava tão baixinho que uma vez me disseram que eu falava miando. Na época eu chorei, mas hoje me lembro disso e rio, porque apesar de ainda ser tímida, eu melhorei bastante com terapia e consigo lembrar do passado com mais leveza. Foi nessa época também que conheci a pessoa com quem estou junta até hoje, se não fosse por ela tudo teria sido pior. Então ver isso na tela, sendo retratado com respeito, me tocou profundamente.

A forma como o Diew foi construído é linda. O roteiro é maduro, sem drama gratuito, sem aquela forçação de barra que normalmente colocam só pra criar conflito. Até o drama que aparece no fim faz sentido, é algo que realmente poderia acontecer. A teimosia dele, por exemplo, é realista. É aquela birra humana, não o tipo de teimosia inventada pra encher linguiça. E o relacionamento dele com o God é uma das coisas mais fofas que já vi, às vezes até demais. Talvez esse seja o traço mais tóxico que o God pode ter, ser fofo e amar de mais kkk. O God é tão cuidadoso, tão protetor, tão carinhoso, que o Diew chega a pedir pra ele maneirar porque não tava aguentando mais e tava começando a se sentir uma criança sendo mimada. E eu entendi perfeitamente. Sabe quando o carinho é tanto que sufoca um pouquinho? Pois é.

Mas ainda assim, acompanhar esses dois foi um prazer. Eu me pegava sorrindo o tempo todo. É um romance doce, delicado, saudável, o que é um milagre quando falamos de romances ambientados em escolas ou universidades, que quase sempre escorregam na toxicidade. Aqui, não. É respeito, cuidado e amor. E ver um romance saudável é um alívio.

E o God, mesmo sendo o extrovertido amigo de todo mundo, não cai naquele clichê do popular egocêntrico. Ele respeita o Diew de verdade, dá espaço, não força nada. É aquele tipo de parceiro que entende que amor também é dar liberdade. E até o ex-namorado que surge lá da baixa da égua pra criar tensão foi bem colocado, trouxe um draminha necessário, umas lágrimas, e um pouco de crescimento pros dois.

Sinceramente, não tenho do que reclamar. Quer dizer, até tenho: acabou rápido demais. Os 12 episódios de 40 minutos voaram. Quando percebi, já tinha terminado. Fiquei com aquela sensação boa de quando a gente termina algo que adorou. Eu recomendo demais. Mesmo sendo mais uma série universitária, essa consegue ser leve, madura e adorável. Eu simplesmente amei.

Desabafo sincero off topic: Quando eu vejo séries como essa levando nota baixa e sendo mal falada, enquanto aquelas que romantizam relações tóxicas são aclamadas, eu realmente me preocupo com o que anda passando na cabeça das pessoas. É assustador pensar que tanta gente ainda confunde possessividade com amor. Espero, de verdade, que essas pessoas não achem normal viver algo assim fora das telas. Enfim, essa resenha do nada se tornou um grande desabafo kkkkk

Une belle romance (et une tortue)

Un de mes plus gros coup de coeur, j'ai vraiment adoré. C'est rare d'avoir un personnage introverti aussi bien dépeint, et ce que j'aime c'est vraiment on va en profondeur dans son passé et de comment ça l'a impacté, et même si ça n'est pas mentionné, je pense que des personnes autistes pourrait aussi se retrouver en Diew. Je trouve trop cool qu'il ne rencontre pas Got tout de suite, et qu'il respecte ses limites. Pour la fin de l'intrigue, je ne suis pas forcément fan du trope de l'ex qui rend le copain actuel jaloux, mais le fait que c'était une relation toxique et les détails de cette relation m'ont fendu le coeur et font très réaliste. La série prend toujours le temps pour les détails, ce qui donne vraiment forme aux persos. Le couple secondaire est aussi très cool, et en général tous les acteurs sont bons. Biu la seule fille du groupe est vraiment très drôle. Ah et il y a une TORTUE. Pleins d'images de tortue mignonne, que demande le peuple.

Sebagai series bL dengan romansa yang bagus, series ini menurutku yang terbaik di 2024. Series ini punya penokohan yang kuat, setiap karakter dibahas sedemikian detailnya (walaupun karakter sampingan tidak se-detail itu, namun porsi mereka pas). Dengan latar cerita yang lumayan menarik, series ini tidak pernah membosankan untuk ditonton. Life meaning series ini sangat kuat, beberapa scene bisa terlihat sangat menyenangkan dan sangat menyedihkan dengan porsi yang realistis. Durasi setiap episode di series ini menurutku sangat ideal karena saya benar-benar bisa menikmatinya. Dari segi costum, efek visual, dan lagu yang mereka tampilkan series ini sangat sempurna. Selain itu visual para karakter sangat nampak bagus. Series ini sangat menekankan pada main tokoh utama tetapi tetap menampilkan scene pendukung lainnya (walaupun porsinya menurutku sangat minim) hal ini sangat wajar, series ini benar-benar fokus pada tokoh utamanya (tidak terdapat banyak filler). Jika anda ingin menonton bL dengan romansa yang kuat, saya sarankan series yg satu ini.

Clichê bobinho

Este drama é um clichê bobo que não acontece na vida real. Particularmente não é uma história que prende muito a minha atenção, devo dizer que assisti por causa dos atores que interpretam os protagonistas — eles são os mesmos de Me and Who.

Em suma, Monster next Door é um drama leve, sem complexidades, não é aqueles dramas incríveis que vale assistir mais de uma vez.

O roteiro, a história é algo que provavelmente não prende a atenção dos outros. De vez em quando a atuação dos personagens deixam um pouco a desejar.
Eu diria que este drama é mais um "projeto" para ver como seria os atores atuando juntos, para ver se iria valer a pena investir neles para outro drama.

serie interessante, ma ritmo un po' troppo compassato

serie sicuramente interessante in quanto la tematica introverso-estroverso è portata alle estreme conseguenze, con spunti di riflessione per quanto riguarda le relazioni sociali, le relazioni sentimentali e i rapporti con i famigliari di persone introverse ed estroverse. La caratterizzazione di Diew, che come detto sembra piuttosto estrema, è anche conseguenza della sua relazione tossica con il suo ex, che gli ha lasciato profonde cicatrici, e che l'amore e la dedizione di God contribuiscono a curare. Nel corso della serie Diew e God hanno qualche malinteso, ma ne parlano sempre in maniera matura per giungere ad un chiarimento e ad un innalzamento di livello della loro relazione. Per quanto riguarda gli aspetti negativi, c'è da dire che non ho apprezzato molto l'interpretazione degli attori sia di Diew che di God, che spesso non riescono a trasmettere quelle emozioni che la scena richiederebbe. Anche la serie stessa in molte parti risulta un po' noiosa e con ritmo troppo compassato.

-Talvez introversión y extroversión no son rasgos fijos.

Es una serie bonita y sencilla, es fácil de ver y para mi al menos si fue disfrutable. es interesante al principio puesto que nos ponen todo enfoque en el MBTI que tiene cada uno y el como al principio puede parecer que las personas pueden estar regidas por su MBTI, ya que sus preferencias psicológicas pueden influir en cómo toman decisiones (relaciones y comportamientos etc) pero mas bien al final como dice la frase del titulo no son rasgos fijos, lo único es que me hubiera gustado ver mas de los demás personajes para ver mas de su personalidad y también de varias relaciones que se dan porque siento que nomas y se entiende queda claro de la pareja principal, siento que me quedaron algunos momentos a deber y si alguien conoce mas de MBTI que me dijera si los personajes si están muy regidos por este porque a lo que investigué parece que si pero no estoy seguro.

God y Diew siento que fueron una pareja bastante solida y bonita de ver, el detalle de la tortuga y el monstruo es bien bonito y desde sus primeras interacción cada quien en su balcón fueron de mis escenas favoritas y pues tiene lo suyo al mostrarnos toda esta faceta de lo que es que un introvertido y un extrovertido empiecen a convivir y desenvolverse en el "mundo" del otro también me gusto que cuando paso lo del viaje que no fue como un problema como tal pues si lo platicaran y lo resolvieran en el momento cosa que me choco cuando pasa el otro problema y pues si mi problema era mas con Diew porque God le había preguntado varias veces y le había dado tiempo pero como dicen Diew tuvo sus razones y son super respetables ya depende de como lo tome el espectador y pues de todos modos lo resolvieron, sin duda no es algo que no se haya visto esta dualidad de pareja introvertido y extrovertido pero siempre es bueno ver como lo plantean y desarrollan también me gusto que ambos tienen como un arco de aprendizaje en especial yo creo que se ve mas reflejado en Dew.

Como personajes secundarios pues hay varios:
Win y Game sin duda una pareja que me quede con muchas ganas de ver mas de ellos y como se fue dando su relacion y mas porque comparto MBTI con uno de ellos, Game sin duda es un gran amigo que siempre esta ahí para Dew y Win no se nos da mucho contexto de el pero me hubiera gustado saber mas, me gusto que abordaran esto de que God también pasa momentos con Dew y Game porque se ve muy poquito de esto (se ve mas de Dew con los amigos de God).

Beer y Wan de mis personajes favoritos fue Beer tremenda green flag que es junto con God, aquí también me surge la duda si están regidos por su MBTI porque Wan nunca se da cuenta de los sentimientos que Beer tiene hacia el o talvez si pero seguía con este pensamiento de muy a futuro que iba a pasar si rompían etc etc, me quede igual con ver mas de ellos porque pues de las ultimas cosas son su reconciliación y de ahí nomas se nos dice que ya son pareja etc, nos dan un mini escena de cuando se topan con God que al parecer ya no lo ven mucho (la cual me hizo cero sentido) pero bueno también una pareja bien bonita, algo que tengo que decir es que entendí a medias la trama de Tan pero no tanto ni idea si estuvo de mas para mi o fue necesaria.

Biu siento que algo que sucede en general con los amigos de God es que al principio los muestran bastante y ya para los últimos capítulos están bien desaparecido y si sentía que Beer y Wan no salían tanto pues ella menos y siento que fue un gran personaje que estuvo ahí para todos y que tal parece que suele ser como la consejera del grupo y que me duele que no hayan hecho mucho con ella ya tan si quiera le hubieran dado una pareja o algo.

Pi no tengo mucho que decir de el, creo que tampoco se nos dice exactamente cuando terminaron el y Dew y al principio si senti tu trama medio innecesaria y ya pues uno entiende que es como para cerrar un capitulo para Dew pero pues nomas llega a perturbar la relacion y nomas llega para pedir perdón pero hasta eso esta raro no se siento que no fue la mejor trama.

La madre y el abuelo de Dew, el abuelo un amor de persona la verdad la madre pues es complicado por todo este contexto que nos dan que ella quería que Dew fuera normal porque ella pensaba que era lo mejor para el pero afortunadamente lo resuelven y lo que me gusto es que van a ir poco a poco empezando por hablarse mas entre ellos y asi.

Pues como ya dije es una serie fácil de ver a mi parecer, que tiene momentos muy bonitos que plantea cosas interesantes con todo esto de las personalidades y que chance a tu experiencia o la sientes muy completa o sientes que te queda un poco a deber en ciertos aspectos pero que es ya muy de cada.
