really good definitely watch
SOOOO GOOD!!!! I am not the type to watch romance and am a huge critic when it comes to dramas and movies but this was a drama my sister recommended and it was definitely one that I would never get bored of. this was the type of drama that had the introduction of new characters and different elements to the story keeping it fresh without getting confusing or losing the plot. i love the ML so much this was the first drama of Kim Jae young that I have watched and he his such a great actor- definitely underated and I felt the same way abt the FL. anyways I hope you loved the drama as much as I did if you watch it which I highly recommended and I can’t wait for season 2Was this review helpful to you?
I really felt a connection with the main character
Justice represents someone who has the power to judge others, when getting involved with the police stopped being as superficial as it once was, and he put his ego aside. I liked that he never stopped in front of a bad person, she gave them the same treatment they gave to others. And less importantly, as an arcane 11 I am happy with the character. It took me a few days to process The Judge from Hell. It’s the kind of show that initially grabs you with its high-concept, almost lurid premise, but then leaves you contemplating the smaller, thornier questions it raises about justice, which is where it truly shines. The core idea is, admittedly, irresistible: a high-ranking demon, Justitia, gets exiled to Earth as penance for a mistake in the Underworld's judgment. Her task? Possess the body of a murdered, elite human judge, Kang Bit-na, and hunt down a list of unrepentant murderers who slipped through the legal cracks, sending their souls straight to Hell. It’s essentially a 'dark-fantasy legal thriller,' and for the first several episodes, it’s a supremely satisfying, almost episodic feast of vigilante catharsis. Watching Bit-na—or rather, Justitia—use her position and demonic powers to deliver punishments that are a literal 'eye for an eye' is incredibly compelling. The show doesn't shy away from the brutality of the criminals, which makes the poetic, if gory, payback feel well-earned.
Park Shin-hye, in a wonderfully transformative role, is the entire anchor. Her Kang Bit-na is a magnificent, arrogant, and stylish antiheroine. She carries an air of bored disdain for humanity, yet is simultaneously obsessed with trivial human pleasures like soda and high-fashion outfits. It’s a delightful performance, perfectly balancing the cold, ancient demon with the subtle, often hilarious, struggles of adapting to a new body and its messy human connections. Her transition from a purely transactional executioner to someone who slowly, begrudgingly, starts to feel something akin to human empathy is the show's most nuanced arc.
The 'legal' part of the thriller is really just a convenient stage for the moral drama. It quickly becomes clear that the show isn't here to offer a critique of legal procedure, but a meditation on the failure of human systems. When the law is impotent against the truly evil and remorseless, what's the difference between justice and vengeance? Bit-na’s methods are extreme, but they force the righteous Detective Han Da-on (Kim Jae-young) to wrestle with his own trauma and principled belief in the system. Their dynamic—the pragmatic, justice-above-all demon and the wounded, methodical detective—is a fantastic setup.
However, the show is not without its flaws, particularly in the later stretch. The initial tight, almost case-of-the-week structure gradually gives way to a broader, more intricate plot involving Hell's politics, a missing artifact, and a grander villain. While it attempts to build a more comprehensive fantasy world with other demons and an angel, the narrative focus becomes a little scattered. The romance, while sweet and integral to Bit-na’s character development, felt more like a gentle, slow-burn consequence of her humanity blooming than a scorching, undeniable chemistry, which may disappoint viewers looking for an intense romantic payoff. Overall, The Judge from Hell is a captivating watch. It succeeds wildly as a fantasy vehicle for wish fulfillment—seeing irredeemable criminals get their just desserts is profoundly satisfying—and as a showcase for Park Shin-hye’s brilliant shift into a morally gray lead. It's a dark ride with plenty of bite, held together by a compelling central performance and a persistent, uncomfortable question about whether true justice can ever be subtle. It’s a messy, but highly entertaining, blend of genres that, despite a slight dip in intensity, delivers a truly unique take on cosmic retribution.

I wrote this for myself
the biggest demon in this show was the chemistry between the FL and ML.loved the FL's character and the suprisigly the actress too (her acting in doctor slump still traumatizes me).
the ML is a bit hypocritical. his acting is also dead. what a waste of a pretty face.
Bael should sybau himself.
as much as i liked this series, i hope there's no season 2. can't sit through this concept again. it's a good one-time watch. no more, no less.
also might be a hot take but my favourite character was gregmory (or whatever was her name).

Falling for Demons Again – Judge from Hell Had Me Hooked!
Damn, I absolutely loved it! Why do I always end up falling for demons, whether it’s Guwon or Kang Bitna? 😅 This drama had me hooked from the start. My adrenaline spiked every time she punished sinners in the exact way they killed their victims—it really made them realize how painful their actions were. The male lead also did his part so well. Even though he didn’t do anything “cute” in the drama, I still found him adorable—just like the female lead. Their dynamic worked perfectly.
That cliffhanger ending though! Totally unexpected, and now I can’t stop wishing for a Season 2. Fingers crossed they give us one! 🙏✨

whats with that ending?
first of all, i wouldnt say i didnt enjoy this drama. it was interesting, and kept getting me hooked during the episodes, curious by justitia and police trying to catch the serial killer but ngl i at first, stopped watching it for a few weeks after the first episode. having justitia to kill the murderers while the police wanted to catch them, made me feel a little bit weird (?) even tho i knew it was justitia' job lol (and the fact that police didnt know the person who was killing them)the romance wasnt bad nor good. it was okay, i wouldnt say it was unnecessary but neither necessary as some people here says. it wouldve worked any way.
i wanna talk about the ending because even tho i dont hate open endings, this was pretty open to me and i didnt like it at all, at least i wanted to see what was her choice. if she would take bael' place as his heir or lucifer' offer idk i wouldve like that.

Overall average
Hi, romance enjoyer here. If you consider watching this show and count on a good combination of romance and thriller/action you are going to probably be disappointed. Show is very emotional, but these emotions usually include grief, pain and suffering more than love. Actors give great performances, however show lacks logic when it comes to reasoning of certain behaviours. I have seen shows with romance that also focus more on action/drama, like for example Healer or Mask and they were in my opinion better when it comes to combining plot with love, this one left me wanting something more, sadly. Was this review helpful to you?
Must watch
The show exhibits remarkable chemistry between the male and female leads, complemented by the exceptional performances of the entire cast. Initially drawn to the series by the presence of Park Shin Hye, I found myself captivated by the other actors as well, who consistently deliver outstanding performances. Each episode is a captivating blend of suspense and humor, culminating in cliffhangers that leave viewers eagerly anticipating the next installment. This series is highly recommended for those who enjoy suspense, romance, anti-hero fantasy, judicial crime, and satanic themes. Was this review helpful to you?

poor frames transition
I am an avid kdrama watcher as it helps me relieves stress but I am also interested in film/media. we're just on ep6 i hope the editors will take note of this one especially since this is under disney, viewing experience should be seamless. when it comes to plot, casts, and music they're all good. but one thing i noticed is the changing of frames are bothering as some transitions are late or too fast. in d world of film this is a downside. i hope disney will do something about it. ive watched some of kdramas they produced before and i had a good experience but im not on this one, this might be on the editors endWas this review helpful to you?
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFETIME
For the first time in my lifetime, I am writing a review in the middle of a series, even an episode !!This series has been introducing very talented actors on screen from the 1st episode., especially the evil characters of each story. I was amazed by all, waiting my time to see them all and reviewing wholely at the end.
BUT this guy... this evil character of episode 5 is killing it! He performed a ONE-MAN-SHOW on his own in those 5 minutes nonstop on the screen during the investigation-room scene. I am speechless. He needs a solid, big praise !
Even though you are not thinking of watching the series, just give it a try for its talented various story-based actors... especially this episode-5 guy.... chills!

Flashy catchy bombastic story but mostly without meaning
I watched ep 1-7, 14 of Judge from hell and it was mostly a waste of time, I had to fast forward through most of it, it is not a masterpiece drama in my opinion. It is a little too ... cheesy and gory. It lacks good dialogues. It is flashy catchy stuff but not so ... meaningful. It raises some good questions but the way is too bombastic and sensationalistic. Yeah, FL and ML nailed their roles, but still, ML role does not show him off as well. The drama is made for FL to have fun acting LOLWhen I watch something, I ask myself: what am I learning?
and for this drama, I cannot say that I learned anything
It is "fun story" drama without much if any meaning

Great story but some things could've been better.
Firstly the the drama was a great binge. I think it is one of the best kdramas in recent. Ive lost all my interest in kdramas because of the repetitive story lines. But this one caught my attention.Over all the story was great. But they could've avoided the romance track. If there was no romance track at all the story could've been actually interesting and intense. Also i felt the ending was kind of open. Viewers like me might think there will be another season with such an ending.
Park Shin Hye's character was a badass character and i think somebody else might've been a better choice like Seo Yea Ji, IU, etc., Park Shin Hye was definitely not a right choice. Some viewers say that her acting has gotten better now but i think she is still the same. Finally the male leads character was really good and the actor was a perfect fit. But at times the character was paced down because of all the romance.
Overall it was a good series but they could've avoided certain things. It can be a good one time watch during the weekends.
