Love in the Big City

Both are Korean dramas with authentic and unromanticized portrayals of life as a gay man in South Korea, including similar themes as reflections on sex, love (and heartbreak), and friendship. LitBC is a series while One Night is a short film.

Both are queer themed shows that have flawed main characters and love interests. Egoist is a Japanese BL movie while Love in the Big City is a Korean BL drama (which also has a movie).

"My Girlfriend Is the Man!" is bisexual representation but not too explicit, so if you've liked it I highly recommend "Love in the Big City" which is about a gay man and his straight bestie.
"Love in the Big City" is a novel that was adapted into a drama AND a movie. Both are about the same story but have different cast, I recommend watching both as they both explore a little differently the story (obviously since a movie is way shorter than a drama)
So if you've liked MGISTM, go binge Love in the Big City for non-censored gayness!

Both depicts the life of LGBTQ individuals but in different generations and period of life. I genuinely like both and I can't pick which one is better but dang 2024 had good representation in Jdrama and Kdrama and I think these two are strong candidates.

But still KBL + this director .... probably something serious.

Had to research twice to make sure but both medias were released with the same title, the same premise by the same author on the same year but different months.

Of course one is an 8 episode miniseries and one is a movie - both played by different actors respectively.

Both of these dramas center on queer main characters and their friendships, romantic relationships, and journey of self-growth

Even though one is a movie and the other a show, they're quite similar at its core, both centre around a gay man feeling lonely, trying to find love in a foreign feeling environment.

Japanese Latin dance champion Suzuki Shinya and Japanese standard dance champion Sugiki Shinya are both famous dancers. Although they are in different fields, their names differ by only one letter. Suzuki, who hates to lose, is irritated by being compared to the other dancer. One day, Sugiki suddenly invites Suzuki to "aim to be champion together in 10 Dances." 10 Dances is a competitive dance where dancers who have mastered both Latin and standard dance compete in a total of 10 dances. Suzuki initially refuses Sugiki's proposal to teach each other and aim for the top because it seems too reckless. However, he is overwhelmed by Sugiki's provocative and competitive attitude and accepts in anger. The two are polar opposites in terms of personality and everything and they clash, but as they take lessons every day, they work hard together and gradually close the gap. Then, Suzuki gradually realizes that he is starting to be attracted to Sugiki.

Both are relatively short dramas depecting lgbtq life, struggles, relationships and breakups. The main character is a gay man. The story also touches on womens struggles and issues as they also prominently feature a female character.
Both shows are adapted from novels by gay authors.
