Honestly, the best thing I've ever watched in my life

I usually don't write reviews (this is actually my first one), but the effect this C-drama had on me is so huge, that I thought should write one.

First of all I wanna say that Heyu's and Esther's acting was absolutely phenomenal. I could feel the emotions through the screen. Especially Jiang mu's crying scenes, they felt so real. I could physically feel her pain through her crying, which is something I've never really felt from any series or movie before. And Jin zhao's eyes, the emotions he was portraying with only his eyes is so crazy to me. You could exactly see what he was thinking or feeling just by looking at his eyes.

The music. I've never really felt that the music affects me in series. Like sure, sometimes I find a song that I like a lot and add it on my playlist, but there has never been a song that has actually changed the way I understand or feel while im watching the show, the same way as it was in Speed and love. First of all, everytime I heard the intro song, it gave me goose bumps. And the songs that would play during the crying parts or sad parts made me cry even harder. But the song that made the biggest impression on me was when Jiang mu first sang a song to Jin zhao. After looking up the meaning and lyrics (which you should definitely do, if you haven't yet) I was actually mindblown by how perfect it is for this series.

Another thing I REALLY liked about speed and love is the references to moon and sun. I thought that it was such a genius thing to have. It definitely made the plot ten million times better for me (and the plot is already amazing). It truly made me connect with the characters on a deeper, emotional level. And I also love how it wasn't a dominating element of the story. It was a rather small part of the plot, but it was so vital. I would've never gotten as emotionally attached to mumu and zhaozhao without the sun moon references.

Usually after I watch a series I'll remember the plot, and I won't really think about the characters, but with speed and love I loved mumu and zhaozhao so much. They will have a special spot in my heart. I loved everything from their personalities to their styles. (Also to add, all the outfits and just the styling in general was amazing, I didn't see one single bad outfit.)

I loved the colors. Especially the scenes in Thailand, when the cars were racing around the city, the buildings that were lighted up with different colors and all the colored lamps they used in the scenes in Thailand. It made it feel really nostalgic in a way, it also felt very comforting for some reason. Simply said, watching it felt like home, even though it wasn't home. The "emotional" warmth I felt from the color palette was also something I've never felt before. (Especially the colors in the scenes with fireworks)

Also another thing I really liked, was the character development. It was truly visible, from not only their actions, but you could see how they had changed just from the clothing and hairstyle. Also the way they acted, it was clear they were still the same people, but you could see how everything that had happened had affected them, or just the fact that a lot of time had passed and they had matured more.

If you're wondering whether or not to watch Speed and love, I strongly suggest you do watch it. I didn't have that high expectations when I started, I never really looked into it, since usually I watch mainly K-dramas. But since I kept seeing this on social media even though it wasn't out yet, I decided to give it a try when the first 8 episodes came out. And let me tell you, I've never felt a sadness that's this strong, because a series has come to an end. It was truly so amazing, and exceeded my expectations, more than I thought was possible to.

I will definitely be rewatching this, possibly already tomorrow, because I genuinely think this is the best thing I've ever seen. I don't think anything will ever come close to how much I liked this.

The drama was honestly so good the chemistry, the acting, the whole storyline kept me hooked. But the ending felt so rushed. I was really disappointed that they didn’t show him being reunited with Jiang Qiang’s family. How did they not visit them or even get their blessing? Jiang Qiang meant so much to him, so it felt weird that they just skipped over that. I was really looking forward to that moment, so the ending left me feeling kind of empty.

Romance is on top! great chemistry and lovely story

I watched it with deep pleasure and I'm sure all those who don't get hung up on the smallest details (although they have provided a lot of details here) and select the drama by genre that they prefer to watch, will undoubtedly agree with me that this is an amazing drama! Initially, it is clear that the drama is in the format of a wattpad story. It's not about deep-deep meaning, although there are moments where the viewer should think. How many years were lost because one decided for the other what would be best for him. A clear example of the problem when there are misunderstandings in a relationship.
There's plenty of romance! I've never experienced such emotions when watching a drama, when you smile and giggle, get embarrassed and can't take your eyes off the screen in order to enjoy that spark between the characters! The attraction, tension and chemistry between Esther and He Yu is just crazy! They look incredibly harmonious together and when you watch bts the chemistry sparkles even more!
Many people criticize Esther's acting, saying that she overplays, but it's also about her character Mu, she's so cheerful and she's not afraid to express emotions. If you don't accept this style of behavior, then it's better to skip this drama, why underestimate it?
He Yu is a real discovery at the end of the year! So charismatic and attractive! I just melted from his smile, body, attitude to Mu, his racing skills and many more! And also his outfits.. He looked incredibly stylish! In his racing and fighting eras he undoubtedly looked the best, but in cute and gentle outfits while his cafe owner era, he was also extremely handsome! And what sensual eyes he has! You look into them and feel all the pain of his character! He's 100% the best aspect of this drama!
No wonder I've been waiting for this drama for sooo long! It exceeded all my expectations! I enjoyed every episode! I admired the racing scenes - the production is a masterpiece! He Yu also performed them on his own, which is admirable! The overall picture is incredibly beautiful! Definitely falls into my favs dramas! China ate with its hits this year!

Just speaking facts

I don't want it to end at all omggg! I've never been this addicted to a drama before; I would usually wait until it's fully uploaded to the end before starting to watch, but this drama was an exception. I wait every day, checking the clock to see whether it's 6pm yet. This drama is indeed a masterpiece; it felt as if I were growing up with the characters. I watched them grow up, fall in love, break up, reconcile, and become married. The directors, the production team, and the actors, especially He Yu and Yu Shuxin, did a fantastic job in bringing Jin Zhao and Jiang Mu to life. As a novel reader, this drama didn't disappoint me at all; the cinematography was astonishing. They created a masterpiece by keeping all the important elements that existed in the novel. The amount of script that they kept the same without changing was very good; they followed every single thing in the novel. I thought that was so respectful of them. Esther's acting improved a lot; I keep on seeing the better version of her whenever I watch her new dramas. Especially the differences in the character Jiang Mu; the character development was significant, and she delivered it so well. As for He Yu, he shines so bright through the character Jin Zhao. It feels as if he was born for this character; he delivered it so naturally. I used to see him act in the Legend of Shen Li, and at that time I only thought that he was one good-looking man. I really didn't expect his acting to be this excellent. He specializes in conveying his feelings through his eyes; it's like he became one with the character. It was really nice to see. Speed and Love will always hold a special place in my heart; it will always be remembered as the first drama I looked forward to every day.

We Got Robbed!!! In A Good Way

I’m really not into the adopted siblings romance trope. That’s actually one of the reasons I dropped Go Ahead (please don’t hate me, I come in peace hahaha). So I was surprised when this drama completely stole my attention. I’m currently watching three Chinese dramas at the same time, and somehow, all of them are good. A rare miracle.

I’ll be honest. I’m not a fan of Esther Yu, and I originally watched this drama purely because of He Yu. That was the plan. However, as I continued watching, I slowly started to like Esther here. Not in a “she took over my heart” way, but more of an “okay, I see you now” kind of way.

What hooked me early on was the Thailand arc in the first few episodes. It felt refreshing and different. No CEO male lead, no doctor, no “rich man saves the world” energy. You know exactly what I mean. It felt more grounded and natural, which made the story easier to enjoy.

One thing I truly appreciated was how the drama handled the parents. Jiang Mu’s parents finding healthy partners after their divorce, with zero toxicity, felt surprisingly mature. I was so scared that Jin Xin (Jiang Mu’s half-sister) would turn toxic, but thankfully, she didn’t. She’s actually one of us, and I loved that for her.

I also laughed way too hard whenever Lin Sui and Jin Zhao were together. At one point, my only thought was: What if Jin Zhao and Lin Sui ended up together, and Jiang Mu was with Wan Qing instead? I know, I know. Just a thought. A very loud thought.

I also feel like we never really got a proper second couple. Na Na and San Lai never officially became a thing, Wan Qing’s supposed partner ended up in jail, and I didn’t even expect Wan Qing to appear at the end. At least she wasn’t evil, so I’ll take that small win.

Now, the part I truly hated: the lack of communication. The whole “we don’t talk for three years because it’s for your own good” thing exhausted me. I was tired. Mentally. Emotionally. Spiritually. And after that time skip, I was really hoping to see Jealous Jin Zhao make a stronger comeback, because we were robbed.

That said, this drama left me hanging emotionally. I really felt like it needed more episodes, especially a proper marriage arc. I genuinely thought I’d see them walking down the aisle, but nope. My imagination had to do the work.

Overall, I’d give this drama a 8.5/10. There are a few things I didn’t like, but I’ll keep those to myself because I enjoy peace and surviving online. Still, this drama is highly recommendable, especially if you watched Go Ahead and you like romance.

Top 1 chinese drama

From the beginning I watched this drama, I was always fascinated by Yu Shu Xin and Heyu's acting. The cinematography is very beautiful. The storyline is very well organized and easy to understand. Anyone who watches this drama will definitely like it. Yu Shu Xin's acting skills are never in doubt, she is very good at playing Jiangmu. Jiangmu is a beautiful and cheerful girl. She is very sincere and loyal to his lover. The power of love between Jiangmu and Jinzhao is very equal. Yu Shu Xin is my reason to watch this drama. Overall, I am satisfied watching the drama from beginning to end. The chemistry between Yu Shu Xin and Heyu is number 1. Don't hesitate to watch the drama Speed and Love. I guarantee you will be addicted and will not be able to forget it. Super highly recommended. Thanks

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT !!! LIKE ALWAYS WITH THIS SCRIPTWRITER WOMAN !

I'd been eagerly awaiting this for a year and a half, and I can say without hesitation: I wasn't disappointed at all.

From the very beginning, the world resonated deeply with me, and the screenwriter—as those who've seen my video already know—is one of my favorites, especially for her previous moving dramas (Forbidden Flower, among others). Once again, she managed to transport me through a fully realized and intense romance, set against the backdrop of a world of motor racing. Needless to say, it gave me an irresistible urge to discover the novelization.

The cinematography in Thailand was simply exceptional, and not just for its scenery: several scenes and shot choices gave the drama a real distinctive character, reinforcing its power and emotional impact.

Esther Yu was incredible! While I was sometimes skeptical about her behavior in the first few episodes, I truly saw an evolution and maturity as the episodes progressed, especially in the second half. (It reminded me of the girl's character development in HIDDEN LOVE). She was enterprising, brilliant, and determined, and her acting was spot-on and moving (her tears got to me more than once!).

He Yu, one of my favorite actors for the past few years, despite masterpieces like Dashing Youth and others, it's really SPEED AND LOVE that has given him true international exposure! I'm so proud of him. His character was absolutely perfect! I could totally have written a male lead like that! Sentimental and rebellious at the same time, but definitely protective. A man with a capital M.

I loved the credibility with which he portrayed this reckless driver, before completely reversing the dynamic in the second half of the drama. We then discover a new man, sporting a more mature look, driven by real projects, and committed to a particularly convincing physical and mental rehabilitation. He deeply touched me with his looks, his gestures, his attentiveness… to the point of moving me far beyond what I could have imagined.

Between breathtaking shots and landscapes, an intense romance punctuated by numerous kissing scenes, actors delivering their lines with great emotional precision, and a truly compelling story—no pun intended—I can only call it a real gem, fully living up to my expectations.

I think the entire cast poured a tremendous amount of energy into their performances, and I particularly enjoyed seeing Mike Angelo again, who I found very comfortable despite his relatively limited screen time. Each actor clearly stepped outside their comfort zone to make this story both believable and addictive.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this drama, and I sincerely hope you, too, had a wonderful time watching it.

10/10 !

Jin zhao took a piece of my heart

After a long time, I didn’t just watch this drama — I truly lived with it. Even though its run was short, every single day I woke up feeling excited and emotionally attached, counting the hours until the next episode.
He Yu was absolutely outstanding. His performance relied heavily on his eyes, and that’s where the magic was. Every glance carried so much emotion that my heart genuinely felt like it was about to jump out of my chest. His silent expressions spoke louder than words.
The OSTs were beautiful and perfectly matched the atmosphere of the drama, making every emotional moment hit even harder. Sadly, a significant portion of the drama was cut, and many romantic scenes never made it to the final version. After waiting for so long, that was truly heartbreaking.
The chemistry between He Yu and Esther was incredible. Every one of He Yu’s styles suited him perfectly — he has a natural charm and elegance. His voice deserves special mention; it has a soft, gentle tone that makes even simple lines feel intimate and warm.
The racing and fighting scenes were intense, dynamic, and genuinely exciting. This is the kind of drama I know I’ll rewatch multiple times.
That said, the editing wasn’t perfect. Some transitions felt rushed, and certain cuts broke the emotional flow of the story.
The kiss scenes were bold, passionate, and creatively done. They felt fresh and different, and I truly appreciated how daring the drama was in portraying intimacy.
I completely fell for He Yu, and I sincerely hope he has a bright future ahead and continues to take on even better roles. This drama made me laugh, cry, and feel deeply. Their love story doesn’t end here — it lives on beyond the screen.
Thank you to Jin Zhao and Mu Mu for teaching me what love truly means — patience, sacrifice, and quiet devotion. Jin Zhao was willing to endure everything alone for the sake of love, and every time I watched him, my heart ached because of how gentle, selfless, and kind he was.
In the end, I already miss this beautiful drama so much. It also made me miss my own teenage years, which now feel like they passed far too quickly. This story was full of ups and downs, and it allowed me to experience a wide range of emotions. For that, I’m truly grateful.

the chemistry is absolutely great!!!!!

the acting, the tension. I love it!!!❤️❤️❤️ sometimes I wonder if they r just acting. the storyline is great but the accident broke my heart 💔. 6 years!!! before they met!😭😭 im heartbroken. i really hope that it's a happy ending!!😭😭. I love their chemistry! the visuals. specially all the racing scenes. I hope jin Zhao can still continue to race after everything he's been through. I kinda miss the old, mysterious jin Zhao. but I'm really glad that he still lived a peaceful life after his accident. really hope they end up together. best modern drama of the year in my opinion. a MUST watch.
