A beautiful love story with sizzling chemistry
This show is about the leads' love story and personal growth, through and through, with no distracting subplots and second leads. The main leads are perfectly casted; the supporting characters are strong; the cinematography is dreamlike; the OSTs add weight to all the emotional moments. This is a show I'll rewatch over and over again.The main selling point of the show is the lead's chemistry, which is consistent from Ep.1-29. While the show is poorly edited, it doesn't detract from the essence of the story
The Thailand arc reels you in with gratuitous scenes of veeeery strong chemistry and high-adrenaline racing + boxing scenes, shot with a flurry of colorful lights layered against the humid nights.
The Nanjing arc is where the leads really showcase their acting chops. Esther and He Yu really impressed me here and brought my initial rating of the show from an 8.5 (exciting watch but not special) to a 10.0 (probably my favorite drama of all time).
Despite their 6-year separation, during that time, they continued living for each other and lived how the other would've wanted to live. The title's literal translation is "Dual Tracks", and during their separation, it really did feel like they were driving on parallel tracks, in hopes of meeting each other again one day. Jin Zhao crawled his way out of death's door and worked his way up to be the person Mumu has always seen him as since they were kids (a law-abiding, intelligent, successful individual), and opened up a coffee shop Mumu dreamt about having while they were in Thailand. Mumu did well with her studies, saw the world as Jin Zhao wanted her to when they broke up, and pursued astronomy, a subject Jin Zhao loved before life's tragedies took that chance from him.
The characters were always consistently expressing their love for each other -- Jin Zhao prioritizes Mumu over everything, even himself, and remembers all her small quirks. Mumu always took the first step to figure out Jin Zhao and fight for their love, bringing a sense of security and unconditional love to him (which he has always lacked given his upbringing)
Jin Zhao and Jiang Mu were beautifully crafted, nuanced characters and the show had a lot of positive themes as well -- but this review is getting too long :)

A Show for people who like sweet filler
Speed and Love Started with a very exciting premise but the story really diverges. After a couple of episodes the plot starts getting dragged to the side in favor of the cute moments between the leads.- For people who want a solid engaging plot, this is not for you
- For people who want romance, tension, and eye candy this is for
-Next, the acting, He Yu did really well, and esther did well portraying jiang mu but here and there her acting was lacking. I am not trying to hate, criticism ≠ hate, i still like esther. In a couple of scenes esther was showing the emotion on her face rather than feeling it, it was obvious she was acting. What i mean is that if she was sad, she showed a sad face with no depth, that was hard for me to watch after seeing many really good actresses.
- After all this is an idol drama, so it is meant to have eye candy and no strong plot substance

More dysfunctional nonsense
ML tells her “If you decide to be with me , you don’t get to change your mind”, gives her a symbol of great love and then abandons her because life gets hard. It was a lie. FL character has zero self-respect. She just pines for bro who lied to her nd pretended to never want to leave her, then she starts trying to go free him, again. This isn’t romantic, it’s not romantic to let yourself be lied to and uncared for. It’s just more drivel about how women should tolerate anything and not love themselves.Was this review helpful to you?

Iconic Drama with no place for disappointment. Just perfect from head to toe. ✨️
If you like something that has everything from car racing to a sizzling chemistry with a mist of sudden heartbreak, along with strong FL who knows what she wants paired up with our good boy gone bad ML. Then this one its for you. 😩🤌🏻✨️You will never be disappointed watching them on screen with their slow burn tension. Intense staring with a sizzle of jealousy. Both leads get jelly jelly easily. There love is undeniable. She waited for him all the years. No one dared to generate spark on her heart the way our ML did. He was the only one manage to successfully race her heart. Similarly, she has own place inside his heart. She was already there. They are inseparable. Fate might be cruel to them but thats the test universe bound to take, in order to make them realize their real feelings. That they are incomplete without each other and separation is only breaking them apart mentally and physically.
It was a beautiful drama. It had everything I was looking for.
If this doesn't work with your taste, its totally fine to skip it. There is no compulsion on entertainment sources that you have to watch them.

Unbelievably good ??
I only followed He Yu from dashing youth and Esther Yu from love between fairy and demon, love games in eastern fantasy, no word can describe how happy I am for watching this series 😄 the fact that it was filmed in Thailand and some languages spoken was thai, those two lead delivered, like they are both hungry and yearning for each other. The racing of cars m, the fighting scenes is unbelievably good, giving mafia vibes. I can't just write how I feel about this drama, I so much love it.Was this review helpful to you?
Literally the best drama of 2025!
If you love action and lots of conflict in dramas this is for you. It was fun and interesting and the long wait was definitely worth it. I loved every part of this drama. Esther and He yu's chemistry is insane like it was literally the best. the plot and the story behind this drama is amazing I love it and its a 10/10 I recommend!Was this review helpful to you?
Drama of the year!
I've been waiting for this drama for a few months to come out and I'm glad that it didn't disappoint me.The cast is amazing! Yu and Esther had such a great chemistry and the roles fit them really well! I also like the fact that He Yu chose his own outfits and used his driving and drifting skills for this drama, not a stunt double. Mike was noticeable for me as well and did a great job. OSTs were great too, especially the one at the end of every episode.
Overall, I loved every single episode and how the characters developed by time and there was so boring moment.
I already feel so empty after finishing this drama. I'll miss it so much.

Yushuxin is already 30 years old but still perfectly suited to play the character Jiangmu. I hope 2026 will be the best year for Yushuxin. And that more and more people will love her. Yushuxin is loving, kind-hearted, cheerful, and very generous. She is very deserving of love. Please don't hate her. She doesn't deserve hatred.

IN DARKNESS, THERE'S ALWAYS A LIGHT TO GUIDE YOU OUT.
'SPEED AND LOVE' is a rare C- drama that feels more like a movie than a series. The chemistry between Esther Yu and He Yu is absolutely fire; they perfectly capture that 'long-lost soulmate' tension, and their 'stare-downs' and quiet moments feel very high-stakes. Esther Yu shows so much growth here in a more mature role, and He Yu is definitely a new favorite as his portrayal of Jin Zhao is raw and protective. The soundtrack and cinematography are top-tier, making even the quiet moments feel intense.The Thailand episodes are stunning. It has a gritty, cinematic film look rather than a typical bright TV soap vibe. The main leads transition from impulsive teenagers to stable adults, making their final reunion feel earned. Also, the FL is the one chasing and saving the ML, which is a refreshing change in pace. The racing and underground boxing scenes are well-choreographed and add great intensity.
However, at first, I didn't want to watch it because of the forbidden romance tag or the 'pseudo-sibling' set-up, but eventually I forced myself to watch it, which was really worth it. Also, there are moments where the characters break up 'for others' own good'(Noble Idiocy), which was frustrating for me, who prefers direct communication.
Lastly, I recommend it if you love stories about healing, second chances, and forbidden tropes done with actual depth.(✿◡‿◡)

Y'all are really lying about this drama. This must be targeted towards a much younger audience especially with the writing and acting and even then, it is an insult to the younger audience. Why were they going for a kiss every minute? That’s ridiculous.> In my opinion, why were the male and female characters constantly looking for kisses and romance in every place and at every moment? It honestly turned into overdoing it and felt excessive. The story gradually became full of repetitive and meaningless scenes and lost its appeal. It started off really well and was promising, but after episode 15, everything was basically reduced to nonstop kissing and silly moments that made the story boring. In my opinion, it’s not worth your time.

Overhyped
I decided to watch Love and Speed purely because the male lead was ridiculously handsome and honestly, that was one of the few consistent highlights for me 😭The female lead really tested my patience. She felt so out of touch with reality like, he was literally explaining why his life turned out the way it did, and she just kept pushing without actually listening. For someone who’s supposed to be 19, the babyish behavior was too much. I genuinely feel like the drama would’ve been better without her she didn’t add much beyond kissing the ML and wearing cute outfits.
Her mom? Easily the main villain.
And the relationship dynamic… yeah, that part was uncomfortable. I tried to make peace with it by telling myself they fell in love as kids, but the flashbacks made it worse because you could clearly see them as innocent siblings before everything changed. It just didn’t sit right.
Also, can we talk about chemistry? Because ML had way more chemistry with his best friend and even the second male lead (Drunk) than with the female lead. And the second female lead?? I don’t know why she ever thought she stood a chance she was annoying, and her whole family treated ML terribly.
The storyline was all over the place. They’re supposedly poor, yet he has luxury cars just sitting around?? And the roads are magically always empty during high-speed driving scenes no pedestrians, no consequences. I was actually interested in the case they were solving, but even that got rushed.
One positive though: I really liked the stepmom.
After episode 15, I finally started to see why people hyped the drama those kiss scenes were HOT 🔥 I won’t lie. And the post time skip scenes were actually funny. The mind games had me laughing, especially her still wearing his necklace like girl… move on 😭
But overall? Disappointing. After 2 years away from C-dramas, this is what I came back to? The hype did not match the experience for me at all.
