Where Passion meets Scars
A quietly intense romance that lingers on in your mind. Deep Affectionate Eyes explores emotional wounds and the complicated beauty of healing. The story centers on an older, emotionally wounded female lead who, despite her own past, boldly initiates a connection with a younger man equally weighed down by his own traumas. Their chemistry is magnetic, with a slow-burning sensuality that unfolds as both characters seek therapy and confront the ghosts of their pasts. It’s not just a love story—it’s a delicate, grown-up exploration of vulnerability, desire, and emotional rebirth. As for rewatch value: the kisses alone can bring one back to it forever but the dialogues are well written and one can enjoy a small new detail with every rewatch.
Final verdict: one of the best shows of 2025

When Two Mature Hearts Choose Each Other — Passion meets Scars
Deep Affectionate Eyes is one of those rare modern dramas that feels ordinary yet deeply comforting and that’s exactly why it works. It doesn’t rely on dramatic twists, villain plots, or exaggerated angst. Instead, it gives us two mature leads, realistic emotions, soft misunderstandings, funny reconciliations, and a love story that grows because the characters choose each other again and again.🔥 Chemistry That Carries the Entire Show
The chemistry between the leads is undeniably electrifying. Nothing feels forced. They flirt naturally, fight stupidly, reconcile adorably, and genuinely act like two real adults trying to make a relationship work.
Their emotional maturity is refreshing they don’t break up over small arguments. Instead, they look for solutions, cool down, and come back with understanding.
🍃 First Half — Cute, Cringey, Chaotic
Push and pull.
Misunderstandings.
Stupid fights.
Stupidly adorable reconciliations.
You won’t be impressed by the plot here, but you’ll smile a LOT watching them fumble through love like real people do.
❤️ Second Half — The Heart of the Story
The real emotional depth comes later:
Layers of past trauma
Mature communication
Quiet support
Realistic partnership
This is where their relationship shines strongest.
The supportive families especially the aunts, grandma, and the child actor add warmth and heart to the series.
💔 The Second Couple
Loved them.
Waited for them.
Still waiting...
It’s frustrating how drama norms treat divorced women differently. Men can move on freely, but divorced women have to “think carefully.” The arc was sweet and emotionally grounded.
✨ Why It’s Worth Watching
Electrifying lead chemistry
Mature romance with real-life problems
Natural fights & funny reconciliations
Heartwarming family dynamics
Well-layered storytelling
A male lead who protects without controlling
A female lead who loves patiently and understands deeply
This drama never tries too hard — and that’s the magic.
📌 Final Verdict
“Deep Affectionate Eyes” is not a drama filled with grand gestures it’s filled with real ones.
If you want a warm, mature, soft romance with addictive chemistry and heartfelt moments, this is absolutely worth watching.

Road to being Hooked
At first I was not considering to watch this drama as I am not into the FL and am rather into the ML.The story is appealing and addicting as it has so many undeniable layers. How they manage to connect the stories beautifully on my perspective. Its really new for me about how patiently and the understanding of the FL towards the ML. And also how the ML protected the FL.
The friendship, the grandma's and aunts are all amazing. BTW, the child actor is on top how mature he is.
It's worth a try to watch it.

Love Poem beautifully written
It has been a long time since a drama touched my heart after Will Love in Spring.. The photography and cinematography combined with the sexy soundtrack it’s to die for. The chemistry and love between the ML and FL is perceptive in a mature and realistic way. If you love Will Love in Spring then this drama is for you.Was this review helpful to you?

A Tender Dance Between Desire and Restraint
A Delicate Study of Gaze, Memory, and the Weight of Unspoken Love: Deep Affection Eyes (深情眼)Overall Rating: 10/10
Genres: Romance, Melodrama, Psychological, Slice of Life
Themes: Longing, Restraint, Healing, Mutual-but-restrained affection, Emotional realism
📝 Story — 10/10
This isn’t a drama about grand confessions or sweeping gestures. Deep Affection Eyes is about the quiet persistence of feeling — how love can exist not in words, but in the space between them.
It’s a slow unraveling, a study of what happens when connection is sustained through memory, small encounters, and subtle gestures. Every scene breathes; the pauses are intentional, the silences weighted. The story refuses to rush. It lingers, like an unsent letter you keep rereading in your mind.
Beneath the stillness is a push-and-pull rhythm: she reaches for him, he steps back — not from indifference, but from a fear that closeness might hurt her. His restraint is both care and self-imposed limitation, a way of loving while protecting her from the parts of himself that could bring pain.
It’s about how we look at the people we cannot fully have, and how those looks become entire conversations.
🎭 Acting/Cast — 10/10
The leads deliver performances that are almost too intimate to watch. The male lead’s restrained presence carries a quiet gravity — he doesn’t show love, he contains it. Every glance feels like a confession he’ll never voice, yet also a boundary he cannot cross. The female lead meets him with a gaze that’s equal parts tenderness and determination, pushing gently against his restraint while respecting the care within it.
Their chemistry is not explosive — it’s steady, aching, inevitable. The kind that leaves you staring at the screen long after the scene has cut away, wondering what it must be like to live with so much unspoken truth.
Even the supporting cast plays in the same emotional register, each carrying their own hidden ache. No one feels like set dressing — they are part of the quiet chorus that underscores the leads’ delicate dance of advance and retreat.
🎵 Music — 9/10
Minimalistic yet perfectly timed, the OST is woven into the narrative with surgical precision. The score doesn’t just accompany the emotions — it amplifies them. Soft, lingering themes bloom in moments of stolen glances and barely contained tension, while more dramatic motifs rise seamlessly during the rare kisses or emotionally charged confrontations, making them land with twice the impact. In scenes charged with unspoken desire, the music hums like a pulse under the surface, heightening intimacy without ever feeling intrusive.
🔁 Rewatch Value — 10/10
The first viewing is for the story. The second is for the details — the subtle shifts in expression, the hesitation before a touch, the way one character’s breath changes in the presence of another. The drama only grows more potent once you know where it’s heading.
💬 Overall — 10/10
This is not a drama for those who want instant gratification. It’s for those who understand that love, in its quietest form, can be both a refuge and a prison. Deep Affection Eyes doesn’t shout to be heard — it waits for you to listen. And once you do, it stays with you.

Sexy drama
Bi Wen Jun can kiss!!! His chemistry with Zhang Yunxi is so hot!! Love this show and this couple. Good buildup of storyline, no draggy scenes, enough intrigue to keep you watching. A highly recommended watch if you want to watch a mature drama. The child actor is also extremely talented. His range of emotions displayed was quite interesting. Was this review helpful to you?
Started Strong, but Lost Its Charm
I started watching “Deep Affection Eyes” because the trailer really caught my attention, but the actual storyline turned out to be a bit dull. I usually enjoy dramas where the main protagonist is cold and distant. It gives the story some edge. At first, it seemed like that was the case, but his personality softened too quickly, and from then on, it became rather boring. To be honest, I found the relationship development between the side characters much more interesting than the main couple. Overall, it had potential, but it didn’t live up to what the trailer promised.

Deep Affection Eyes ?? — Sweet romance with a molasses-slow start ?
A very touching story… and a slow burn — emphasis on slow 🐢🔥. There were moments I had to fight the urge to either walk away 🚶♀️ or hit the fast-forward button ⏩… yet somehow I could not look away because I did not want to miss a single scene. The ML? Loved him ❤️. His little bursts of jealousy were adorable 🥒💚 (yes, green-eyed vibes). The FL… not my favourite at first 😅, but she bloomed beautifully 🌸 as the story went on. She was never angry at his antics , just that calm, disappointed “you could have told me your pain” look 😔. But she got over it quicker than my Wi-Fi reconnects 📶.
At one point they said “let’s separate” or “divorce” 💔… but nope, it never happened. The ML never misunderstood her, so there was no real break up , just a few sad glances and we moved on.
The pacing started like molasses 🍯 but eventually picked up enough to hook me. My only gripe? The villains got off way too easy 😤… even the mother. Where were the karmic lightning bolts? ⚡ Justice was served lukewarm at best.
The ending was satisfying… but felt a little detached 🪁. Then again, life is not always fireworks 🎆 sometimes it is just quiet reality.
On the brighter side 🌞 — the grandmas were pure gold 🏆, and little Jia Yua? Absolute scene-stealer 👶🦉. An old soul in a tiny body, dishing out wisdom like a mini monk.
Would I watch again? Maybe… but only with snacks ready 🍿 and a finger hovering over the skip button.
I would give Deep Affection Eyes a 7/10 ⭐.
✨ Points gained for touching romance, adorable ML jealousy, blooming FL, wise-beyond-his-years kid, and lovable grandmas.
💔 Points lost for snail-paced start, villains walking away too easily, and an ending that felt a bit emotionally distant.

This drama is amazing, I swear. I didn’t feel bored for even a moment, and I watched every episode with huge interest. The chemistry combined with the strong tension and desire between the main couple was exactly what I’d been looking for for a long time. The female lead mentioned at one point that in the beginning she thought he was a flirt. When I started watching the show, I also thought he was that type. I expected games similar to the male lead from "Nevertheless,". But it turned out differently. At first, the male lead was completely closed off and didn’t let anyone get close. Only after meeting her did he slowly start to open up, and she showed him that the world could be beautiful for him too. As for the female lead, I really liked her character: fighting for her goals, confident, beautiful. She didn’t let anyone walk all over her. At first glance, she tried to pretend she had control in their relationship, but looking more closely, that wasn’t true - neither of them had control. And to be clear, this drama is definitely not a sweet romance from the beginning. Early on, their relationship was toxic at times - especially because of him, since he didn’t know how to talk about his problems. But I can understand why he acted that way. Their relationship progressed quickly, and opening up after the hell his mother put him through since childhood isn’t easy. The biggest fight in their relationship - the one that nearly led her to divorce him (and yes, I understand that he was trying to protect her in his own way - his mother was a threat, though it would’ve been better if he had told her right away) - was the last major moment of tension. After that, he finally opened up, and from then on they fought together, not against each other. I really liked that they stayed by each other’s side even as stronger and stronger evidence appeared that his mother was involved in her mother’s suicide. I was afraid that this would push them apart again (either through her or through him), but it didn’t. My only complaint about the male lead is the letter in the second-to-last episode. He really needs to learn how to write those better, because even I thought he was leaving the female lead - which wouldn't surprise me
A huge plus is the character creation. I could write pages about this, so I’ll shorten it to my favorites:
→ Chen Jia Yu – a wonderful son. He didn’t have an easy childhood, which made him more mature than his peers, but he loved his mom unconditionally. Thanks to him I went through all kinds of emotions - from laughter to tears.
→ Tai Ming Xiao – he stole my heart with his reaction to the main couple’s marriage and later with how he tried to separate them at work (too bad he didn’t get more scenes).
→ The female lead’s family / the male lead’s grandma and cousin – I’ll group them together here. Watching them was wonderful. The closeness between them, the grandmas teasing each other, wedding and baby planning for the main couple, trying to reconcile them, fishing with her dad - and I’ve probably forgotten something. (I’m glad the male lead’s grandma survived; I was really scared about that.)
The secondary couple deserves its own section. Even though the beginning of his feelings didn’t fully convince me (he developed feelings for the female lead because he mistakenly thought she saved him, and once he learned it was actually Fang Ya En, he immediately redirected his feelings), I still enjoyed watching the development of their relationship. His support during her divorce from her abusive husband, his care for her son - I really liked the bond he formed with the boy (especially helping with the school performance; that absolutely melted my heart). Turning the bar into a restaurant so she could come with her child. The friendship between Fang Ya En and the female lead was also amazing - anyone would want to have such supportive friends. Same with the relationship between Cheng Kai Ran and the male lead. They always lifted my mood - for example, in the scene where they both tried to write messages to "their" girlfriends in episode 12.
The last point is Li Ling Bai. The script tried to explain her actions, but that sentimental backstory didn’t convince me at all. She went through hell - I’m not denying that. But it doesn’t justify what she did. She should’ve dragged herself to a psychologist, not her son, whose life she turned into hell for nearly 30 years. She shouldn’t have blamed her friend (the female lead’s mother), who stayed in the orphanage to help her, nor should she have destroyed her life and pushed her toward the worst possible end. That’s why I’m glad she ended up behind bars, and I didn’t feel sorry for her for even a moment. I hope she rots there for the rest of her life - along with Wang Xing Sheng, though I’m not discussing him because we know too little, which is a pity, because for me he’s the only key character who wasn’t developed well enough

Atypical Romance with Intrigue
I had my doubts going into this drama because I am not a fan of the FL. However, this is the first drama that I have seen with her that I enjoyed. This was a good role for her and she did a very good job portraying this FL.I had only seen the ML in one other drama, but it was his performance that kept me coming back. His eyes truly are deep and affectionate. That was evident in every scene, even when he tried to portray himself as a person of questionable character.
Every role in this drama was cast perfectly and all characters, regardless of their roles personality added depth, humor, empathy and the full range of emotions. I will say that I don’t know if I’ll be able to watch a drama with the ML’s mother in it for a long time, as just seeing her face had me angry with her in every appearance she made in the story.
The childhood friends, the grandmothers and the biggest surprise of all was the ML’s little sister. Let’s just say that her singing debut was definitely not what I expected 😂
The storyline was good. A little weird in places - like the FL’s former boss who kept pursuing her even when he knew she was married, but didn’t believe it because he had convinced himself that he was perfect. Narcicist doesn’t even begin to describe how much this guy admired his self.
I have to admit, the 2nd ML was annoyingly endearing because he was just a tender hearted oaf who clung too much to his image of being a gangster. I loved the interaction between him and the 2FL’s son.
Tge story has a lot of twists and turns and the screenwriter did a great job of leading your mind down one path only to find out our assumptions were wrong. I showed the corruption and coverups of serious crime, revealed the dangers of holding others, especially children, for things beyond their control - and even more so was that revenge and anger have terrible side affects on you and those you love.
The ending was a bit of a letdown, and this is my only complaint about the drama. The wedding was just the 1ML and 1FL, with no guests, flowers or any of the pomp and circumstance of most cdrama marriages and felt more like it was filmed in a giant walk-in closet with less than ideal lighting. I really wish that screenwriters and directors realize how a mediocre or poorly planned ending can be a big detractor of a dramas ratings.
Sorry for the side trip!
All in all I think this was a good watch and tugged on all your emotions and pulled you in to the story at the beginning.

Tender & Romantic
DEEP AFFECTION EYES (2025) was pretty good romantic Cdrama. While a bit predictable at times, the romance that blooms between the two characters is definitely sweet, genuine and overall a pleasure to watch. I did feel that the ML was a bit dry in personality and it took a while to develop his character and the relationship between the leads."After career troubles, Ye Meng moves back home seeking peace. She meets the enigmatic Li Jinyu, drawn to his quiet demeanor and expressive eyes. Together, they find healing and romance."
Overall, "Deep Affectionate Eyes" was an enjoyable watch. The small town setting, memorable acting and enduring side characters made this romance drama a joy.
