Cute but nothing impressive

Cute-Funny romance with cute actors on a sports theme.

I picked this one because I like Esther (she's really cute and funny) and the male lead is super handsome.
I felt that 23 episode was a little short. I would have aimed for 25 because some things were rushed near the end.

1) I like Esther's acting in this type of role: cute, funny, and silly. BUT, there were moments I thought it was a little too much. There are some scenes where the director should have toned it down a bit.

2) I got distracted by the "fashion show": they made her change outfits every single episode (or more), and she never wears the same thing twice. Mind you, she only carried a small luggage, so how could she have the space to pack 7 snowsuits/winter coats??? I understand it's for aesthetics and that it doesn't need to be too logical, BUT they should have toned it down by bringing back some previous outfits a couple of times. They also went a little overboard with the silly babyish outfits (especially her pyjamas), so this is another thing that should have been toned down a little bit, because too much is like not enough. There needs to be a balance.

= Light Spoiler =

What I feel has been rushed

1) For example, the relationship resolution between the 2nd male and female lead (Yan & Jiang Nan Feng). Since this is a "feel good" romance, I was kinda expecting a positive ending for them, so I felt a little disappointed when things were left unsaid in the last 3 episodes.

2) The resolution between Wei Zhi and her crooked ex-employer. We are left guessing what happened.

Artistic Choice that could have gone a different way

1) The male lead's reaction/decision to "take his distance" and let Wei Zhi see this as a breakup without explaining thoroughly what happened with her dad and how he feels. It felt a little immature and not worthy of his character. Communication is the pillar of a healthy, successful relationship, thus, he should not have left things the way he did. There was no need for imposing a breakup while both of them "tiddy up" their personal lives. (Maybe he told her, but we are left guessing because it hasn't been shown during screen time since this drama was rushed in only 23 episodes.)

Plot Hole
Episode 10 (38 min)
Yan shows Beici that Jiang NanFeng deleted his contact on WeChat and confronts Jiang Nanfeng regarding this.
Jiang Nanfeng answers him: Did you even ask Wei Zhi what really happened?

I thought we would get to learn this later in the show, but no! It never gets explained. What are we supposed to understand exactly? What has "really happened"? Is it supposed to be something so obvious that it doesn't deserve any more script time???

It's shown that:
- Yan has feelings for her since way back in the past.
- She treats him with utter disrespect on the last day before her departure, and then deletes his contact.
- She adds him back to WeChat after Yan confronts her about this.
- Wei Zhi asks her, "What's the deal with you and Yan?" She answers, "We just set up a class for tomorrow morning. We're adults. No need to hold grudges. I just want things to be less awkward when we all hang out. "
There is no further explanation of that situation or sentence in the show.

I watched this because I like how Esther Yu act, she is such a great actress and her drama's are always nice and the trailer of this series had caught my interest.
After watching I could say that the love story is great 👍🏻. The casting is great, Esther Yu and Lin Yi have a great chemistry even from the beginning of the episodes. I can feel that they have a spark. I like how their characters face the challenges that comes their way. But there's something off with how they end the story. It's not satisfying for me. But still it was worth watching, Really!!

a fun, lighthearted, and healing watch.

ski into love is so far one of my favorite dramas of 2025. everything about it was really lovely. the main cp chemistry was amazing, and was prolly my fav part! personally, this cdrama with or without the editing in fewer eps is great, and i barely noticed it imo. maybe i was too focused on other elements, but this drama had the story, the fun, the cast, and the atmosphere for me to ignore the cuts. im sure if youku hadn't cut the eps, this drama would surely have better ratings.

one of my fav scenes is where they eat at a hotpot place near shan chong's home, and they later play with sparklers, which honestly melted my heart. another scene that i rlly liked was when shan chong and wei zhi found out abt dai duo & shan shan's relationship.

lastly, i wanna talk abt the main cp's break up. this part was lwk relatable, and i have no issues with it. either way, the parents weren't so wrong. knowing that this would be how other parents in Asia would react, or worse, i wasn't so shocked. i actually like how shan chong took time to improve himself, and how wei zhi waited for him. the break up also allowed wei zhi to go back into her comic career & reconcile with her friends.

Not just a fluffy story.

I hesitated a lot whether to watch this but I like Esther Yu (yes can you believe it . She’s like that kooky new girl you meet upon getting a new job or changing friend groups. At first you can’t understand why people like her but after awhile you like her energy or wonder what outfit she’s gonna turn up in . I thought Lin Yi was miscasted in his role in put your head on my shoulder. ( not his acting but the height differences among other things kinda made for zero chemistry between him and FL ). However in this drama there is tons of chemistry between them. The story combines their family issues of each character. They cope with different issues but support one another -in the end we see character growth . I really liked this drama -remain fan of Esther and now Lin Yu . It was enjoyable to watch

Sweet But Boring

I never feel chemistry when Lin Yi meet cutie annoying "whatever is that called" FL lead, but can perfect match with kind of older FL background with a bit naughty personality just like Love Scenery with Xu Lu, that the best i ever seen he act on drama, i never feel bored in that drama, every episode just exciting and the chemistry was very sweet and interesting, hope he got good FL again, what a waste of face with boring plot again.

I don't know why, but the snowboarding aspect was super fun to watch, and I loved the mentorship trope between the ML and FL. Lin Yi was much better in this drama than some of his other works. It was so sweet seeing how the FL genuinely changed the ML’s life for the better. The visuals and snowy environment were absolutely beautiful too. Honestly, when watching this, I didn't think that I would rate this drama this high. But, I thoroughly enjoyed the watch and the character development that occurred.

It was about to go on my rewatch list but then the breakup happened.

The drama was so close to being one of those warm and inviting ones, but they messed it up with the breakup.

Wei Zhi and Shan Chong could have easily worked it out together. We don't really need these kind of incentives to keep watching. I as a viewer don't enjoy dramas that add breakup in the last arc of a drama. I especially don't like it when the person who initiates the break up isn't the one to take the first step towards patch up.

Shan Shan and Dai Duo were such a great couple. I enjoyed their relationship because it was so damn heartwarming, the care and love for each other was easy to see and not once did they waver. I wonder what Dai Duo's family is like, I hope they welcome Shan Shan with open arms.

idk really vague story

Just as a side note: I love skiing. Every winter I go skiing in various resorts, and have never snowboarded in my life. Idk, maybe I'm petty or annoying but the mistranslation of Ski into Love triggered me big time. I understand how it happened, witch chinese not having a direct distinction between skiing and snowboarding, but it still annoyed me for some reason. However moving on from my little peeve, the acting overall was quite good, Yu Shuxin and Lin Yi did good together (no wonder Esther is called the Chemistry Queen), the storyline was alright, the bestie (Zeng Keni/Jenny Zeng) finally gave some good advice, and all in all it was ok. This one was just not my cup of tea though. (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything)

Ski Into Love is a visually charming drama that successfully blends the chill of winter sports with the warmth of art. The highlight for me, and what truly gives the series its identity, is the artistic direction. I loved how the manhua sketches are integrated into the narrative; those scenes at the end of each episode, where the moments they’ve lived are transformed into illustrations, are a visual delight and provide a very poetic closure to the story.

However, you have to go into this drama knowing what to expect regarding the female lead's performance. As is common in many C-Dramas, the protagonist's behavior is extremely infantile. Seeing an adult woman (and a talented professional artist) act with toddler-like gestures and high-pitched voices feels quite absurd from a Western perspective. It’s a strong cultural clash: what is sold there as "sweetness" or Sajiao, feels like character regression here.

If you can manage to ignore those childish mannerisms, you’re left with a very sweet love story, impeccable aesthetics, and a clever use of drawing that significantly elevates the final result.

The Best: The manhua illustrations at the end of each episode are beautiful.
The snowy setting, which is a refreshing break from typical drama locations.
A light, "feel-good" story perfect for winding down.

The Worst: The excessive infantilization of the female lead, which sometimes undermines the maturity of the romance.

The series attracted me with its original idea of skiing + snowboarding. Former snowboarding champion and manga writer. I was hooked from the beginning and really enjoyed it until the very end. I admit that this was probably the first time I liked the main character and towards the end I kind of couldn't stand her because of the decisions she made and the behavior of the main lead. That's why I'm surprised that a drama that I found by chance left me with such feelings. Lin Yi and Esther are great actors. They really deserve more recognition than they have so far (this same drama, which is really incredibly beautiful). So if you don't know what to watch or are waiting for a series with an original theme, this is for you!!

Skiing skills are too good

Ski into love is a fun, snowy backdrop, funny and romantic drama.
As a person who once tried to ski and knows how hard it is, lin yi skiing is really good. As an actor he really works hard to nail the character and does a good job at it. I am very impressed since they didnt use any green screen or backup person to do all the intense ski shots.
I know Esther Yu character sometimes is too cutesy but i guess she just adds her appeal and her fun part to play the role.
Overall the drama is a good watch and bit different than the actual novel.
