🔹 Wei Zhi – played by Esther Yu
Winter 2025 😍❤️
"Wishing for what you wish for." – Wei Zhi
"You are my wish." – Shan Chong
This drama, at its core, is about love conquering all. ❤️ It’s the classic tale of a rich "princess" with strict, traditional parents who only want a financially stable and secure son-in-law. But then, she meets a handsome commoner with big dreams and unfinished ambitions. To win her family's approval, he has to prove himself— and so he does! And yes, they live happily ever after! That’s the whole summary! Hahaha.
I really don’t understand why this drama is getting so much hate. The ratings are low, and people are calling it boring or cringy, especially in the second half. But come on— they can’t be lovey-dovey all the time! 😅 It’s a drama; challenges are necessary! Even in real life, love isn’t always smooth sailing. Some are also complaining about inaccuracies in the snowboarding techniques, but honestly, this is a feel-good romantic comedy filled with so many sweet moments that will make you jealous. So don’t miss out!
Overall Rating: ⭐ 9/10 – This drama is light, refreshing, and heartwarming. It portrays the struggles of athletes, their dedication to training, and how incredible they can be. It also highlights the power of comics (manga) in bringing joy and strength to people. And of course—so many adorable and romantic moments! 😍
Wei Zhi is absolutely adorable! Esther Yu is always phenomenal in rom-coms, and she’s perfect for this role. She plays a sweet, innocent, rich girl (like a princess) who loves love and enjoys being cute. So don’t blame Esther for her character—she nailed it! ❤️
This was my first Lin Yi drama, so I can’t fully judge his acting range yet. I actually dropped Everyone Loves Me because it wasn’t my cup of tea, but he was great here! You can truly feel his sincerity in taking care of Wei Zhi. Plus, he’s so handsome! 😍

Ski Into Love – A Heartwarming Romance with a Unique Snow Sports Twist
Ski Into Love is an absolute delight, bringing a refreshing and unique take on snow sports. The drama beautifully blends romance, sports, and personal growth, making it an unforgettable watch.Story: 10/10
The storyline stands out for its uncommon theme centered around snowboarding. Unlike typical romance dramas, this one takes viewers into the thrilling world of winter sports. It’s simple yet captivating, making me fall in love with snowboarding and even inspiring me to learn it! The narrative is well-paced, avoiding unnecessary complications, and keeps you hooked throughout.

Lin Yi delivers an outstanding performance, proving he was born for this role. His dedication to the character is evident, and his portrayal is both compelling and authentic. Esther Yu’s acting is equally charming, making their on-screen chemistry feel natural and heartwarming. Their interactions are so adorable that they enhance the overall sweetness of the drama.
Music: 10/10

A deeply romantic, comforting, heart warming story
This is my first detailed review on MDL and I feel compelled to express my deep love for this story amongst all the negative feedback.Firstly I feel the need to state that I am a fan of Esther Yu. I prefer a spunky, sweet and upbeat FL. One who charms everyone around her and pulls in an icy ML with the warmth of her heart. I do not find her annoying, and I am happily watching everything she has been in after falling in love with her in LBFAD.
Secondly, I should share that I loved this story so much that I read the entire novel after watching the drama. Esther Yu is a perfect cast for Wei Zhi and I would even venture to say that the author wrote the original novel with her in mind, or someone very similar to the sweet, childlike characters that Esther is known to portray. Wei Zhi is spoiled, pampered, childish and has a huge, loving heart. She effortlessly makes friends in every situation, and is always optimistic - even when learning a difficult sport from a cold coach. Esther's goofiness and sweetness is easy to love, and her ability to deeply express sorrow really grounds this character in a way that the novel did not.
This was my first introduction to Lin Yi, and I was incredibly impressed with his ability to change from a frosty, cold no-nonsense prodigy to a deeply devoted and besotted lover. It was a joy watching them both fall helplessly for each other, and tied together by the strings of fate. The differences in the novel, in my opinion, greatly add to the story. Their several chance meetings ahead of the ski resort, and Wei Zhi's entire plot about her career and scandal added much needed depth to the story.
Esther and Lin Yi are both incredibly charismatic on screen, and convincingly portrayed lovers who are also best friends. The break up plot, while slightly heavy handed, brought the appropriate amount of longing and heartache that this story needed to fully carve itself into my heart. My heart was TORN APART for both of them, who are both so deeply in love, but building a life together takes more than devotion and willingness.
The level of comfort this drama brings is helped incredibly by the supporting cast, their friends circle, enemies turned friends, Shan Chong's younger sister's story, and ever present winter atmosphere. The ending did feel rushed - most likely due to the reduction in episodes by YOUKU, and the iconic break up like "...but life is not a ski resort. It doesn't snow in Nancheng" will forever make me laugh out loud. There are lot of flaws in the story telling, but for me all is forgiven but the love story that is told.
Shan Chong's confession of love to Wei Zhi is the most romantic I have ever seen in any drama. Not even including their night before in a snow hut, sharing one sleeping bag. The gentle intimacy of inching closer to rub noses BRINGS ME TO TEARS. This is everything I want in a love story. Deep feeling and longing, devotion and support of each other's dreams.

Walau alurnya terasa cepat cause they're cut from 32 to 23 episode, tapi storylinenya masih nyambung dan enak diikutin.
And visual all the casts are beautiful and handsome.
Hope all the hardwork teams can paid.

So far very enjoyable
Feeling a little rushed due to the shortening of episodes but that helps to focus only on the main leads story so I kind of like it just as a 23 episode drama. I'm loving the drama thanks to the cute main couple. Esther Yu is a cutie pie as always. Lin Yi is so good at skiing. I'm loving the colours and backgrounds of the drama as well. It's so refreshing to watch a winter game themed and a manga artist's story combined. Was this review helpful to you?
COMFORT DRAMA! DEF GONNA REWATCH IT!
honestly I'm not a die hard fan of both leads, but i found that they act naturally good, and the chemistry is soooooo good too. the cuteness of the fl really soften my heart and just gave me the break that i didn't know i needed after a long day full of work! and i don't know how both of the leads can stare at each other like they are truly in love <3. the story is very refreshing and new, I'm intrigued to do snowboarding one day!! wish this drama could be longer. in conclusion i don't understand the hate that the fl got, sounded very baseless, being cute and embracing femininity can be a crime for independent woman in this society ig.Was this review helpful to you?

Sweet but Stale
When you have two good actors but no chemistry to help them save the show—that’s exactly what happened with Ski into love. This isn’t a heavy drama (IMO), even though it deals with a life-changing injury and a scandal. To me, it felt more like a series of light obstacles sprinkled throughout just to push the story forward a little.
Main downers:
Story, FL’s acting, and chemistry
Story:
A solid storyline can make up for a lot of annoying scenes and moments in a drama. When chemistry is lacking, a strong plot can still keep you hooked and make you want to see what's next. But after five episodes of unnecessary wardrobe changes in a wintry setting for the FL, lots of pouting, and endless flashbacks, the story just didn’t deliver. It felt like a series of random situations stitched together to make a drama. For me, that’s a big NO.
Acting and Chemistry:
I’m grouping these together to keep it short and sweet.
I’ve seen FL in LBFD and MJTY and she held her own really well there—her acting hit all the right notes. Unfortunately, in this drama, it came off as childish. I couldn’t connect with her character, and the lack of chemistry with the ML didn’t help.
Individually, they’re both capable actors. But this pairing just didn’t work, and their performance couldn’t patch the gaps left by the story.
So that’s it—I’ve decided to drop this one. I just can’t push myself to go further. It was meant to be sweet, but ended up feeling stale and hard to chew.
See you on the next one!

The snow may be cold but my heart is warm
Despite the drama having some weird cuts (prob due to the episode constraints), I can see that the team really worked hard to deliver. Filming in the snow isn’t easy, and they all deserve their flowers.Shuxin and Linyi’s chemistry is unmatched. They make me giggle and kick my feet in the air every time they’re on screen. Such an amazing pair 😍
This drama is very close to my heart because it revolves around family, dreams, and passion. The dilemma the leads face is something that can happen in real life—choosing between pursuing your dreams or considering your family's feelings. It's a tough question to answer.
Amidst all the negative comments about the leads, especially Shuxin, this drama remains one that will make you smile until your gums hurt. How could I possibly hate someone who makes me smile and eases my exhaustion after a long day at work? I just know that this drama will become one of my comfort dramas and I will treasure it forever.
