The Fearless Season 2

Legally and Addictively Good

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama and feel it needs more spotlight besides all that are currently given much attention. This is such an excellent written and acted legal drama.

Fearless S1 was great and the way it ended had me thinking that there must be a second season. Sure enough, here it is and the three lawyer heroines are just as fearlessly confident and bold,
The dynamics of Luo Ying Zi (Rayzna Alimjan) and Qiu Hua (Chuo Ni) as senior partners is super warm. Qiu is cautious, reserved, the kind that holds back to review, while Yinzi hops on to the opportunity once she sees a green light. Their personalities are somewhat different but well balanced through their mutual respect and smarts. Xia Shu (Shen Yu Jie), the junior partner is reckless, kindhearted which puts the firm on their toes at times. She is such an integral charm of the flow that I just love her character. Episode 16…crazy girl but oh so delightful. Chen Shuo (Wang Yang) is the icing of the trio. Inconspicuously charming the affections of YinZi, he is in the background helping her. He is a charming character, whom YZ calls unscrupulous yet, she is slowly thawing in their friendly bantering.

The trio are fired from the firm that built them. The "divorce" becomes the build up of this
season that became the crescendo when the clash of wits, smarts, 'teacher vs student' battled it out in the courtroom. That was very tense and interesting.

In all, the cases of this season just as before are so interesting. You can tell that writer did a lot of research, and lots of planning. Each case humanizes life and conflicts. The one about bullying was very satisfying and in this current toxic culture of its effects, it was nicely done. What I love is that the cases are fully developed and properly closed so that when they move to the next, you don't say, "wait, what happened to". It is so well written that I don't try to pass over anything, that I feast on the subtitles to not miss any detail of the cases. I’d also like to say that editing is really good. Where each episodes end makes you eager to go to next. Like a favorite book, you have the pleasure of wetting your finger as you turn the pages and settle in to the magic of next and next.

The cast in entirety are so good, so much claps to the veteran actors/actresses and everyone. Wish i could speak on each but this will suffice. They did great!

I fear my inefficient writing does not do justice to this excellent drama so please give it a try yourself. At least stick to it for three episodes and decide. I almost guarantee you’ll be glued in.

Ending has me thinking or almost convinced that a S3 is in the works. Please watch and share what you think. Yes or No?

FYI...I watched on YT and IQIY. Give this a try. You will find a great comfort drama to enmesh in.

Lawyers that instill unbreakability into clients and themselves.

I like this season better ,as it shows the growth of the lawyers and their clients .If Life gives you lemons ,you made lemonade.


Take the 1st case of the escaped convict who was conned by his wife and her lover that the 2FLs were too pricey and didn't do their job to make him escape conviction. Through an accident he escaped and kidnapped XS,their young apprentice lawyer for a stand- off.They managed to convince face to face negotiation with proof and evidence that it was his wife and lover. He calmed down and surrendered Faced the music and turned over a new leaf to lighten his sentence.Initially he wanted to turn all his money over to them as they had been kicked out of their firm and now operating on their own firm.They refused and only took their due service fee.


The case of the medicinal seller turned “daughter”,saw the growth of XS who distributed advertising leaflets of their new firm. This got her their 1st client ,ex-rich lady who was similar to XS..They belonged to the privileged, rich upper class,dainty and refined, noble ladies of yester years ,who were pampered and sheltered by loving families with morally correct code of conduct and behaviours which were no help to fend off scammers like the medicinal seller She exploited her kindness, generosity and called her “mother” to get loans of millions to set up a money lending business with her husband.Their exorbitant interest rates were so high that their borrowers of lower income and petty traders had to mortgage their homes and closed down their businesses to repay.The rosy relationship of “mother” and “daughter” turned soured when her businessman husband collapsed and she was poor for she discovered he was bankrupted. His illness needed a large amount of money for urgent treatment.The debtors ,”daughter” and husband, refused to pay and stalled. On advice of lawyer Han, went into hiding. XS and her client had to search high and low but when found, they ran off before XS could successfully hand over the court summons.. Only with the help of the ML who by then employed in their old lawyers firm , were the summons handed. ML also instigated a “fake “divorce for the debtors to protect their money .The husband now freed from the controlling wife had an affair.Instant karma of the “daughter” to feel pain and hurt of betrayal! Next pain was that their unorthodox money lending business was exposed ,investigated and shut down.However all these processes took over a long time and the husband didn't make it .The lawyers encouraged her to still pressed charges to get back her rightful money to begin a new life with self-reliance and independence.


The case of the school bullies, is a classic ripple effect of how a minor evil can affect society on the whole. The client has a girlfriend who was so traumatised by school bullying that she became a shut-in.When she was a school girl, she transferred from the city to a small town in the rural countryside This provoked envy,jealousy and malice among her classmates. They bullied,isolated and harassed her from school to colllege.In university, with online prejudicial post on her , she was subjected to cyberbullying.She entered a design college to become a designer to work from home.However she was blessed to meet a loving man who encourage her to sue for a public apology, But her bullies were still malicious and unrepentant,continued to harass her through phone calls.for they themselves have wretched lives with their bullying tendencies and bad temper .temperament which were recorded and played in court in their defamation civil suit.They won, when the most alarming was 1 of the bully was an elementary school teacher who continued her malicious, bullying tendencies in the education of the next generation.They also got their public apology and 1 of them had a jail sentence when their client shedded her shyness to confront face face with her bully in court .


Then there was the case of the abandoned wife which was also a reflection of 1 of the FL,LYZ, past marriage in season1.The client was lady chef who limp ,with a successful restaurant business.Her husband abandoned her and their son after a brief marriage' He came back to get divorce and property division when he found out she had so much money from her business. LYZ provided proof that during the long years of disappearance he had committed bigamy when he married another and had a son. He returned because of a huge amount of debts.She sued for divorce and gave him money to repay debts. She gets back control of her life and not beholden to false sentiments and victim mentality .He walked out of life and she had walked valiantly alone to build an enterprising catering business;she's a success without him.

These are some of the highlights of some cases.,Watchlist to see if Season 3 can top this!

A Good Legal Drama but characters’ development is flawed

Overall, I enjoyed this drama and appreciate the acting from most casts. The legal cases presented were realistic and they were solved with decent depth and explanation. It’s good to see that everyone has conflicts and weaknesses. That’s real life. No such thing as a perfect person. However I feel let down with the over dramatised characterisation of the FL and the young lawyer Xia Shu.

What’s good?
1) Acting of key characters including the supporting casts are decent to good. No one is too awkward in portraying their roles. The FL lead can act. I may not like her character (see below) but the actress is good. She is natural and has small talks and movement that make her acting stand out. ML is a good looking mature guy. Acting is good too. Good pairing.

2) Cases are good and realistic in terms of their resolution. Most characters including Mentor Mei is imperfect. That makes the drama interesting as it’s not predictable.

What’s not so good.
1) Character development for FL is not so good. She went through a lot as a betrayed spouse in deep debt. It’s understandable that she hesitated for a long time before accepting ML’s pursuit. However what I dislike is, she verbally abuses him all the time. Initially yes, they didn’t understand each other and he did come across as unscrupulous. But cmon after so long and so many episodes where he helped her and many others, she continued to abuse him verbally, never took him seriously when he gets serious and try to be nice, disrespectful and insensitive towards him eg asked him to accompany her to wait for Xia Shu in middle of the night as she was scared of the stalker then immediately dismissed him like a rag when her friend is back. That’s plain rude and disrespectful. He on other hand has developed into a better person. Hence overall I don’t like the FL . I agree with the ending where ML sort of gave up on their relationship even though he loves her so much because she doesn’t gave him confidence that she will have his back when he is down and invalid. It’s a genuine concern and I feel sorry for him. The love of his life is not reciprocal in terms of emotional attachment. I think FL loved her first husband more. In Season 1 she took almost the entire season to decide to report his blatant fraud and abandonment to the police. It even caused her mother’s live and yet she hesitated .

Second bad character was Xia Shu but it improved a lot in mid season 2. How can a smart person who graduated in Law from USA behaves like a total idiot at work? You get privilege but you also need to show some professionalism. Playing video game in office. Wearing shorts to work, making blatant mistakes during cases. I didn’t believe she even went to high school. And it continued even after she was supposed to fall from grace and became poor. Her car, taken by her ex BF and she had to make such a huge effort to take it back??? Just make a policereport that someone stole your car is probably easier no? Unrealistic.

Since I am here I like Qiu Hua the SFL best. She has grown and is mature and logical. Even marrying the person she didn’t love due to gratitude and yet she did her best to stay in the marriage. It’s realistic to show her marriage dilemma as she deserved better. The husband simply doesn’t align with her in any way. The scriptwriters should have given her a better man who loved her and she could love him back just as much.

It is a good sequel from previous season. Good story and acting with interesting twist at the end.

Fearless Season 2 is a legal melodrama that follows the previous drama. After being fired from their Law Firm, the three junior lawyers opened their law firm and defended cases that helped people. They also encountered lawyers from their ex-company.

The acting and story are decent, but I am confused about the ending. I also have questions about Lou Ying Zi and Chen Shou's relationship. Did they break up because of the last case, or are they still together?

Synopsis: Luo Ying Zi, Qiu Hua, and Xia Shu were kicked out of Liangcheng Law Firm. Luo Ying Zi suspected the matter was related to an old case she was helping Mei Da Liang investigate. To survive, the three opened a law firm. Chen Shuo switched jobs to Liangcheng Law Firm to pursue Luo Ying Zi but failed. Luo Ying Zi still does not accept Chen Shuo, but she falls in love with her new partner, Xu Zhuo. Chen Shuo secretly helps Luo Ying Zi uncover the truth about Mei Da Liang's old case.
