A Heartbreaking Battle Between Love and Fate
Had I Not Seen the Sun starts like a gripping mystery but slowly turns into one of the most heartbreaking love stories I’ve ever watched. The ending left me with so many questions — Who is she really? Did the heroine die and return in another body? What happened to Chou Pin Yu? Is the politician’s son still alive? Will the hero destroy the entire gang for her?The drama keeps you guessing until the very last scene, but the emotions hit you like a storm.
Every actor delivered an amazing performance, and the cinematography is absolutely stunning — dark, raw, and poetic. This series is not just a thriller; it’s a painful, beautiful fight between love and destiny.
I’m desperately waiting for Part 2 because the twists left my heart in pieces.
If you love intense, emotional, mystery-packed dramas, this one is a must-watch.

Can't Wait For Part 2!
Had I Not Seen the Sun 🦋(Part 1)
Overall 10/10
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
So captivating... Once I started watching, I could not stop. The story tells us about Li Jen Yao, a serial killer. What made him do it? How did he get to that point? Who is the girl in the school uniform? Why did she appear? The show keeps pulling you in. Everything about this drama was exceptional, truly cinematic. The actors left me in awe, everything felt so real...
This was only part 1, but I cannot wait for part 2!
Highly, highly recommend!

valid- valid- valid
i have been watching for this drama ever since the poster was released! and tseng jinghua never disappoints.i would say the beginning of the story leaves you craving for more. from a slight seeing of the killing to meeting li jenyao - the murderer to know more to suddenly viewing the story. it was an interesting of unfolding the story, if you ask me. but i was able to see what was going to happen... i was proved right lmao.
after watching this series, hsiaoteng is legit a sunshine to everyone, from jenyao to pinyu. she was there for everyone, spreading her love and chasing rays away from people. but, it sadden me to see what has happened to her. should the victim feel guilty that it happened and she should feel dirty? no. and im glad that hisaoteng actually told names instead of trying to settle it herself... but power still plays a huge part... making it realistic.
li jenyao's actions are freaking valid and i admire him for being able to handle so much because if it is me, i will make sure everyone goes down with. like, what do these bullies expect when they bully people? the victims bowing and thanking for bullying them? they had it coming.
the acting for this drama was superb. from jinghua to li mu, they made the character come to life.
with that, i am super excited for the second season because i am looking forward at how the story unfolds and how jenyao kills them as it will be so satisfying!

DRAMA THAT YOU WILL THNK ABOUT FOR DAYS AFTER
This drama had so many subjects I usually avoid. Serial killer but with a good reason. School bullying but gets revenge. Abusive husband but he gets what he deserves. Need lots of kleenex for ending but it is expected. What keeps me thinking about the drama is how much a person endure in life. ML is absolutely incredible in his role (plus major eye candy). There were a few times going back and forth between past and future I found confusing. Worth the watch even all the kleenex. Was this review helpful to you?

Bold take? I LOVED IT
This Taiwanese drama hits that perfect blend of soft angst and grown-up tenderness that feels like a warm sunrise after a long, cold night. The chemistry is loud, the emotional beats are louder, and the little everyday moments between the leads are written with that signature Taiwanese sincerity — the kind that makes you stop, breathe, and go “ok… this hurts, but in a good way 🥹🔥.” What I adored most is how the series treats loneliness as something you don’t just “fix,” but slowly walk out of… with someone who sees you. The glances? Electric. The silences? Loaded. The confessions? Absolutely fatal in the best possible way.By the time the story reaches its emotional peak, it feels like watching two people learn how to stand in the sun again, together. And listen — the production doesn’t exaggerate; instead, it trusts the actors, and they deliver. Even the side characters feel like lived-in pieces of the world, not filler. If you love BLs with heartfelt writing, beautifully restrained passion, and that unmistakable Taiwanese soul, this one slips right under your skin. Tender, intimate, and quietly devastating — exactly my type.

A resposta é direta, quase física.

Someone save this poor guy
I went to see expecting a serial killer thriller with lots of carnage and hatred, but what I got was pure depression. The script is sensational and the production impeccable, but they have no mercy on the protagonist: it's a study of suffering from beginning to end. At the beginning, the story even suggests something supernatural, but the twist to the psychological side, revealing the protagonist's dissociative identity disorder, is very well done and tragic. The main actors give a show-stopping performance and made me cry buckets, although some secondary performances leave something to be desired. What I really didn't like was the ending implying that the protagonist took her own life. I found it unnecessary and an exaggerated drama, since his sacrifice was precisely so she could move on. For me, it would be much stronger for one to survive and carry the pain than for both to die. It's a beautiful and tragic story, but be warned: it's extremely heavy and contains serious triggers of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and graphic violence. I highly recommend it if you enjoy depressing dramas, but if you value your mental health, stay away.
