Dating Your Bias Fantasy Drama (I Loved it!)
This drama is definitely not the best BL out there, but I had such a great time with it! It’s light, silly, and super fun, exactly what I needed. Based on the title, poster, and synopsis, you’d probably guess it’s just a fluffy little drama, and that’s exactly what it is. If you don’t expect too much, it’s really enjoyable.Plot & Setup:
What would you do if your K-pop bias suddenly appeared at your new job, and now you have to work with him? That’s exactly what happens to Na Aejun, a teacher and devoted fan who suddenly has to hide his fanboy side to stay professional. The setup is cute and funny, and it kept me smiling through most of the episodes.
Characters:
Na Aejun – I absolutely adored him! He’s such a cutie, and his flustered reactions whenever his bias flirted with him were priceless.
Choi Siyoel – Tall, handsome, and at first motivated by a misunderstanding to “revenge flirt” with Aejun, only to fall for him instead.
Second couple – They didn’t get much screen time, but they were sweet (especially in the last episode when the broken-up couple got back together).
Kyu Seong & Na Aejun (the cousins) – Their bickering was everything. Honestly one of my favorite dynamics.
Juha & Na Aejun’s friendship – I loved that they became friends at the end (and lol, clearly Siyoel has a type).
The romance was super cute, with lots of funny and heart-fluttering moments. The angst setup was promising (one hiding his fan side, one flirting for revenge), but it felt a little one-sided. I think it would’ve been better with a more sincere apology from Siyoel, but I still liked how Aejun didn’t forgive too easily—his cold shoulder and avoidance made the eventual reconciliation sweeter. Watching Siyoel try to win him back was adorable.
Overall:
It’s not deep, it’s not groundbreaking, but it’s cute, funny, and charming. And honestly, that’s all that matters to me. 💕

Quite fun
I came into this show with low expectations. The plot idea was interesting, and I can't deny the height difference was important to pique my curiosity. But as with many BLs starring an active K-pop idol, I expected more of a bromance and no kisses, as we've seen from BLs with other Omega X members (I'm looking at you, A Shoulder to Cry On and Jazz for Two). The first episode also made me question if Kim Kangmin would be a good actor. But the show actually became quite fun and interesting. For an idol BL the kiss on episode 9 was great. Kangmin proved me wrong, especially in later episodes where his character had to be more vulnerable. Kevin was also good in the role. I wasn't sure I'd be able to root for the couple after the lie was exposed, but I feel like the show delivered a good resolution for the issue. The secondary couple didn’t have much to do, but I liked them too.Was this review helpful to you?
I was obsessed with the chemistry between Kim Kang Min and Kevin (I have a soft spot for height difference couples!). They nailed their roles. Siyeol starts off cold, distant, and laser-focused on revenge, but slowly gets swept up by Na Aejoon’s awkward, adorable charm and watching that shift was just delightful.
Major props to Kim Kang Min for his portrayal of Siyeol. At first, he’s stiff and almost expressionless, hiding all his emotions and desires. But once he confesses his love for Aejoon, his whole demeanor changes, his face, his posture, everything softens. For someone who claimed he’d never be clingy in a relationship, Siyeol turns into the most lovesick puppy ever.
And Na Aejoon? He steals every scene with his radiant presence, genuine smiles, and heartfelt admiration for Siyeol. His fanboying is sweet, a little naive, but always respectful. His inner flirty thoughts were so cute. I loved that he stayed true to himself, both in love and at work, showing real maturity and self-respect.
Aejoon and Jooha becoming besties because they understand the whole give and take? That was the cherry on top.

A very much needed (and greatly appreciated) surprise.
I went into this drama with low expactations. KBLs were once my favorites, but this year was somehow disappointing, so I just started it with this in mind. But oh damn, was I wrong. This one surprised me in so many different ways - and I am not complaining about it.Korea feeds us well with this drama, as well as with My Secret Vampire. Both dramas have this typical korean charm and magic feeling and i love them both.
MBiS was entertaining, funny, charming and had sooo many moments I kept rewinding over and over and over again, because it was so much fun to watch them. It made me giggle, it made me kick my feet, it made me swoon and it made me feel connected to the characters. I can totally relate to Ae Jun!
The story feels like a breeze of fresh air. We don't get hit too hard with the stereotypical tropes & it has a nice little twist, which I haven't seen like this before (and I watched a bunch of dramas :') )
I loved the acting - I always think Idols have a nice base for acting since they have to do all the fanservice and stuff. :D
I agree when it comes to the soundtrack..for an Idol drama, we have very little songs. The only thing that reminds us of Si Yeol being an Idol is the fact that Ae Jun doesnt let us forget that he's a big fan. But that wasnt something that bothers me, because I usually dont watch idol-dramas. Not a big fan of those plot bc of several tropes that get usually used there.
The side couple was amazing, too. They could have been a little more fleshed out, but I also dont deduct any points for the way they are now. I have a bad crush on Lee Byung Hun now. T_T
Pacing is an important factor for me and I was able to binge episode 3-8 without any issues. It kept me engaged, happy and entertained. c: It doesn't feel dragged or noticeably rushed in a way that it would hurt the story.
Overall, its a comfy, funny, adorable show with nice actors, a good soundtrack and a ton of relatable moments if you are a fan of something yourself. It's been a while since a drama had me this obsessed, happy, giggling and excited about it, so I am truly relieved that i didnt skip this gem. :D
I highly recommend it for the ones that miss the typical k-feeling in the recents KBLs. (And go watch My Secret Vampire!!!)

A fanboy/fangirl’s dream come true
My bias will absolutely be showing in this review! If you’re a K-pop fan – or a devoted fan of any genre, really – you’ll likely understand Na Ae Jun on a deep level. For many fans, idols aren’t just people on a screen; their words, actions, or music can help them navigate difficult moments in their lives, perhaps even saving them. And, like Ae Jun, I’ve experienced myself, at various points in my life, moments where my focus becomes completely absorbed by someone I admire.
(Let me add to that, that adoring someone to the point of stalking, hunting or invading their privacy in any way is wrong. I meant the above in a harmless, let’s-adore-our-idols-from-far-far-away type thing!)
That being said, I found this drama really enjoyable, even though it wasn't perfect. There were some pacing issues and a lot to unpack, especially concerning some serious subjects. However, some of these issues seemed to get resolved too quickly, which diminished the tension even when it felt like there should have been more. Obstacles would appear and be resolved just minutes later, making it hard to feel the stakes.
Additionally, I thought the reason Si Yeol (the idol) approached Ae Jun (the fan) came across as a bit... childish? Don’t get me wrong; I genuinely believe in defending and protecting your friends. However, actively deceiving an innocent person who genuinely likes you doesn't seem like the right way to handle it.
(This was one of the issues that got resolved too quickly, if you’re wondering!)
Anyway, overall, I found the drama enjoyable and relatable in many aspects.

Beautiful
Oh my, this was a lovely watch! At this point, are all the OMEGA X boys gonna be in a BL? Might as well!! I also really appreciate their agency for letting them – that's pretty progressive considering.
Anyway, the acting was surprisingly great, chemistry was awesome, and they're cuties. Absolutely loved the genuine begging for forgiveness (Kim Kang Min is such a pretty crier lol) and grovelling.
I wish it was longer. You know, spending more time as an official couple, seeing more of the second couple, exploring the highs and lows of dating an idol (although ThamePo fills that gap too ;)), etc. But alas, this is going to be my new comfort drama!

a cute fluff!
This is my 3rd KBL that I really enjoyed!I’ll be frank, but I feel the end was kinda rushed (but why do I expect drama with the adaptation of a manhwa with many chapters? 🤡)
The songs were so good and the acting was fantastic… Choi Siyeol is so handsome, and his voice 😭🙏🏻 is amazing.
I honestly wanted more screen time for the second couple 😭 they actually looked so good…
The plot was amazing as always, it was very comforting and fluff bl. I felt that there was no awkwardness between the actors starring in the drama and they actually looked so damn good😭
Kevin, I love u 🥹

OH MY GOD CUTE
I'll start by saying I'm not one to fantasize about being with my idols. rather them together is what I want to see. being the delusional BL lover I am. this was beyond cute. both actors played their role amazingly! the way the roles slowly changed in the dynamic had my heart melting for them. the story line kept me intrested the whole time! this was fluff with 0 NC for those who want to know. their kisses are perfectly timed and not over the top. I am beyond obsessed with this and I already k ow I will re-watch it many times to come !!!!!Was this review helpful to you?
SO much potential and so much lost out on by not fulfilling it - did they even try?
I love BL romances, and I love a story where the main character has been in love with the love interest for many years, but I think in this particular context – idol and his fan, that Na Ae Joon was in romantic love with his idol initially meant we missed out on some of the nuances that are unique to idol-fan dramas. In this type of drama, we expect Na Ae Joon to love Si Yeol as a fan loves his idol. I think kpop fans (and I am one) usually view being fans more as a … (ugh, I’m going to butcher this, but I can’t think of better wording right now, so please forgive me) a purer, more selfless love. At the very least, it’s in a different category than romantic love and fills a different need than romantic love. Then it would almost make his betrayal that much deeper. Because when you’re a fan of an idol – or the level of fan Na Ae Joon is supposed to be, your idol is the light in your world – not in the way that a romantic partner is, but how your greatest passion is. How do I put this. In a fan’s life, you have your romantic partner, your friends and family, and your idol/group/bias, and they each fill a different need, or they fill the same needs in different ways… hold a different place in your heart? Anyways, watching them perform lifts you up when you’re at your lowest; them smiling and laughing on a show makes you smile and laugh; you look forward to going home so you can watch more of their videos and fanboy over them with other fans. Falling in love with a person and finding out they used you is a huge blow, but losing your bias on top of that – the person who got you (and specifically Na Ae Joon) out of one of the darkest points in your life, who you cheered on for years behind the scenes – they’re someone who holds a different part of your heart. It’s like taking away the person you love and your greatest passion all at once. Two things you can’t live without, rather than just one. Ugh, am I even making sense? Also, they did the second couple dirty. It was like they forgot they needed to resolve the second couple's plot until they were making the final episode, and they rushed the conversation – so much that we never get a clear answer as to what Kyu-sung was doing (no specifics to not spoil things), and we blink and everything is better. Wuuuuuuuuuuuut? Even if they’re expecting us to make inferences from context, this revelation is the key plot point! Not just in their specific case, but every love story! It’s the moment when everything becomes clear about the misunderstanding – and the actor’s response to and the character’s growth from this is the climax of the show/arc/character’s development! Instead, it was like we were being told a story and the narrator nods off at the climax and snorts awake when you start complaining, only to yawn and tell you, "they had a happy ending, now will you go to bed."
I didn't notice the music, but that's not a great sign if it's a drama about idols.
I put a 6 for the rewatch value and not lower because I want to go back and rewatch it to better remember the parts where they went wrong and to reimagine them in my head. As I said, so much potential, none of it taken advantage of. If they had changed these two parts, it would have been a pretty good drama. B+ BL and not a C- like it is now. a 70% barely.

Poor Ae Joon :(
Now I really feel bad for Ae Joon. Poor him… he's so innocent. He sacrificed so much just to land this job, struggled with his low self-esteem, and now his feelings are about to be used and manipulated. I always felt something was off with the way Si Yeol was acting, especially how he rushed things just to get close to Ae Joon.If Si Yeol is truly trying to get revenge for Jooha through Ae Joon, then I'm already preparing myself to be furious with him. Because if I remember correctly, somewhere in episode 4, when Si Yeol asked Ae Joon if he was seeing someone, Ae Joon clearly said no. So why pursue him? Why keep drawing him in, only to use him as a tool for revenge? That feels so unfair. Unless, of course, I misunderstood something in the story.
Also, the day Si Yeol was answering that student's question about love, he was probably describing Jooha. That scene makes so much more sense in hindsight.
Things are definitely getting more interesting, but I honestly don't want to see Ae Joon get hurt in the process. He's too pure, too innocent, and has already been through so much to deserve that kind of pain. Seeing his genuine heart being toyed with would be absolutely heartbreaking. I'm so ready to be mad at Si Yeol if he's going to hurt Ae Joon.

Cute fluff non-problematic realness
This is a prime example of a simple plot executed in perfection with a charming, irresistible cast. They did amazing. The only thing I dislike about this series is its brevity. I want more fluffy episodes. Also, I'm happy they didn't dive deep into the potential scandal shiz. That reporter really had no business being so nosy. I'll surely rewatch most episodes because Na Aejoon and Choi Siyeol are such a delight when they're together. Was this review helpful to you?
