For real, my PREJUDICE is showing

I am going to be biased in this review, whether i like it or not. If youre a big KPop fan, who doesnt fantasize about the scenarios in this drama. Its a fanboy/fangirl dream come to life.

Kim Kang Min played Choi Si Yeol perfectly as a member of an ageing idol group and Kevin as the almost geeky and perfectly relatable teacher Na Ae Jun. The moment the show started i am immediately transported into the shoes of Ae Jun - the slowmo moments and the cute fangirling - my heart would have exploded and i wouldnt have his self control when faced in similar situation.

Im glad that the episodes were a little bit longer than the usual KBLs and isntead of 8 we got 10 episodes. It was the perfect length to tell the story without rushing things.

The show, however, isnt perfect - first, it felt like there was a little bit of budget constraints especially when acquiring songs because this is a show about a KPop idol but there wasnt really any great song for the soundtrack. I also felt like there was a lot of missed opportunity to tell a deeper story as they glossed over the difficulties faced by idols (and their partners) especially when it comes to their personal lives.

This series also amped up my anxiety to the max. When it was revealed that Si Yeol is only using Ae Jun to exact revenge on Ji Kyusong i felt afraid for him and imagined how devastated it would be if he found out that his bias has been deceiving him. I sincerely felt that the show didnt handle that situation very well because that was some weird dark sh^t and it was downplayed as something to be forgiven easily just because "i like you first for a really long time".

What could have been an impactful romance drama became a cute, fluffy and light fantasy (yes i consider it a fantasy since i think everything is just a fantasy happening in the mind of Ae Jun) series that lacked real depth.

Dont get me wrong, Its not a bad drama but its definitely not on the level as some of the best KBLs like Semantic Error, To My Star, Bleuming and Love for Love's Sake.

Would I recommend? Yes, definitely.
Would I rewatch? Probably not.
Giving it a high 8 just because i love all of the 4 main cast. I told you im going to be biased.

Forget the actual plot and watch it for the fluffy "plot"!

7.75/10 (That awkward in-between score where you kind of love it but also know this isn't life changing )

The cheat code to enjoy this drama is not to expect much. It isn't trying to reinvent the wheel, and you get the idea early on. It sticks to its lane..light, a bit fluffy and breezy to watch. It's easy on the eyes, with good chemistry between the leads, comedy that isn't cringey, although it had slightly uneven pacing and not enough angst.

The premise is simple yet fun. Na Aejoon, a fanboy, suddenly finds himself working alongside his idol, the charming Choi Si Yeol. The twist is that Na Aejoon keeps his fanboy status a secret, while Si Yeol has his own mysterious agenda for getting close to him.
Their chemistry is not smooth or effortlessly romantic. It is awkward and adorable. The height difference is just the cherry on the cake. Sometimes they did act like cringey clichés, but it kind of makes you smile rather than suffer. The visuals, their silly banter overall maintain that feel good vibe.

Now, coming to the biggest issue I had with this drama was Si Yeol’s character. It felt like a wasted potential. For most of the drama, he is playing the long game with his little revenge mission, which means his actual feelings don’t come into play until way too late. By the time the truth comes out, there is barely any space left for him to properly redeem himself.
I would have rather liked it if they had given him a lot more inner conflict earlier on. It would have given the drama enough and much-needed angst. The guilt, the hesitation, the tiny moments of self-doubt...we didn't get to see this.

As for the second couple, they were sweet but very underdeveloped. I know they had a tragic past, but I feel we didn't see them enough to believe it or have any kind of connection. The last-minute conflict resolution magic wand does its trick, and voilà... a happy ending.

Another thing that I feel they could have milked better is the whole idol fan relationship. They just brush past it pretty quickly.

Acting-wise, it was decent. Kevin, as Na Aejoon carried the role nicely. I felt the clumsiness, the second-hand embarrassment and the emotional scenes were spot on, especially when he was cooped up in his room. Kim Kang Min as Choi Si Yeol was charming too, but some of the heavier emotions didn't quite land. It wasn't terrible by any means, but when Aejoon cried, I felt something; however when Si Yeol cried (the classroom scene) lacked that impact.

Overall, this isn't a gourmet meal, but it will satiate your cravings. It has flaws but it's charming enough to forgive.
I would recommend it if you are looking for a short, fun, feel-good BL that's easy to binge. But don't expect clever writing or too much depth. It's a guilty pleasure kind of recommendation.

A fluffy story with fatal flaws...

This is a fantasy BL every K-Pop fan was waiting for. A K-Pop idol meets one of his die-hard fans and so the story begins. Too bad there was no focus on the music too and what we got was not that impressive. The series failed to make this a deep story about the struggles about idols. So we get a superficial story about idols but quite a nice romance. And when we think all will end well, we got the drama of our idol being a jerk. If it was me, I think I would not stayed that calm. This part of the story was ill adviced imho. They could have removed it and put more energy (and writing) in the second couple, because we got nearly nothing from their past and it would be much more interesting if they have explored that part. They chat in the finale and we do not see how the reconciled either - WTF? Another irk for me is that this is just about the idol without his other group-members. Where were they? Why is there no interaction with them. That felt completely unrealistic.

So overall, I'm a bit disappointed. I have no complains about the acting or chemistry or the production quality at all. I feel like the story is too flat. Using soundeffects does not make scenes more funnier as we all know. Of course they should have invested also more in the music to create an OST which could be remembered.

It's not a bad drama but it's not a stellar one either. It has more good sides than bad, so there is no reason not to watch it, especially if you are into the fluffy stuff.

Fantasy vs. reality

This is a sweet and fluffy drama, with just enough drama for it to be a drama. The acting/directing could be better, I wouldnt say it was bad but it felt a bit awkwered at times and could probably easily be fixed by more experience and directing.

The characters are interesting but a lot is under explored and could use more screen time and depth but where rushed instead leaving me with a slight feeling of meeh... However it does have its fanboy charm... And does have a nice touch of idol vs human behind idol idea to it.

If they were to make a season 2 I would probably watch it, not that they have much more to explore but more out of curiosity of where they would go with this,

Delivered the sweet, failed with angst.

I liked it, but I did not love it. But it was so close to being so good, it just makes me feel more disappointed. It gave us so much to appreciate - good chemistry between the leads, THE height difference, interesting set up for the plot and future conflict, decent acting… but then it kind of did not deliver on any of these.

Was the chemistry good? Yes. And if it was not for the supporting couple, I would probably even say it was great. But these few moments we’ve got from Ju Ha and Kyu Sung felt so natural I could not see the main couple in the same light. Good example: both couples had that “one person leaning on the other when they are sitting, semi backhug position” - Ju Ha and Kyu Sung felt like couple, Si Yeol and Ae Jun felt like actor who are playing the couple and are ready to get back to normal sitting position right when they hear “cut”.

Still, the interactions felt mostly natural. I loved how Si Yeol was confidently flirting and how confused, but also happy Ae Jun was about it (living his best delulu life).

Then we had the height difference straight from the webtoon, so big my neck hurt just watching Ae Jun look at Si Yeol. So my question is… why wasn’t it used? Like, ever? There are so many perfect (cliche) moments and scenes that many viewers love, and we’ve got none.

Even the set up was great - scheming idol and a dishonest fan. One would be enough for a great conflict and angst to follow, but these two? What an amazing combination. So where is the angst? The way I almost felt nothing when all the tea started to spill. The way things were set up to be future conflicts ended up as nothing, but a few seconds scenes.

I do believe the issue here was the acting from Kim Kang Min. Overall, his performance was fine, but the moment the plot leads more into heavy themes, he just did not deliver. Which was even more evident when he shared the screen with Park Jin Woo who actually aced the sadness and anger.

Production value was good. One of the issues I often have with dramas about idols, is how unrealistic the details of their work are (e.g. awards ceremonies in small rooms with barely any people). Here he did feel like a real idol - from merch, songs, interviews, stages, radio interviews. The school also felt like a school, classroom had students that acted like students. The environment was crafted in a way that made the story feel more real.

Overall, it was almost there. A few changes in the last 3 episodes and we could have gotten a solid show.

My Bias Is Showing?! A Surprising Korean BL Gem That Hooked Me Instantly

My Bias Is Showing?! completely exceeded my expectations. I went into it with little idea of what to expect, but from the very first scenes I was hooked. This drama manages to be funny, engaging, and heartfelt while also giving us a strong storyline and a cast that shines on screen. It is rare for a Korean BL to catch my attention this quickly, but this one already feels special.

One of the things I love most is the chemistry between the leads. I have always been a sucker for height differences in couples, and SiYeol towering at 188cm next to NaAeJun at 167cm is the cutest thing ever. Their interactions are not just visually adorable, but they also bring out each other’s personalities in such a natural way. SiYeol is not only tall and striking, he is also incredibly handsome, with a stunning face and physique. On top of that, his talents in singing and dancing add another layer to his character that makes him irresistible. In contrast, NaAeJun has a clumsy, awkward charm that feels so genuine and relatable. His softness balances SiYeol’s striking presence perfectly, making them a pair that is both visually and emotionally captivating.

The pacing of the first few episodes is another highlight. It never drags, and every scene feels purposeful, whether it is to add humor, build the plot, or deepen the characters. The comedy is well-placed and never feels forced, which makes the series lighthearted and fun to watch while still keeping me invested in the story.

interesting premise with a plot/pacing issue

Overall: I liked the premise but the pacing needed to be changed a bit. Based on the webtoon of the same name by Nabit and Eol. 10 episodes approximately 22 minutes each. Aired on GagaOOLala in in Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and Europe (not UK, Spain, Portugal) https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/5692/my-bias-is-showing-2025-e01 ; iQIYI https://www.iq.com/album/my-bias-is-showing-2025-1vmsvoj3pt9?lang=en_us ; Heavenly in South Korea https://heavenly.tv/detail/973 and more.

Content Warnings: manipulation

Watch Suggestions (to get rid of angst)
- watch episodes 1-6
- episode watch 7 beginning-8
- skip episode 8
- episode 9 watch 23:25-end
- start episode 10 at 4 minutes (unless you want a 4 minute recap)

What I Liked
- premise
- visuals
- sweet moments
- mystery
- chuckled in episode 2 with him hiding holding the ball
- solid ending

Room For Improvement
- for most of the 6 episodes a character did not have genuine feelings for the other, the reveal happened at the end of episode 7 which left only 3 episodes for a redemption arc and happily every after, the writers needed the reveal to be in episode 4 or 5 instead of 7
- episode 1 was backstory/set up
- neutral on comedy sound effects
- can't remember what happened when drunk cliche
- crap apology though he did finally work on it after a month
- noble idiot cliche
- the line "how about I lock you up in my house for the rest of my life" came across as creepy instead of funny as they intended it to be

My Bias is Ae Jun

Ae Jun is a star. He was so adorably cute and personable when no one was looking, that there's no other choice but to like him. His bright smiling eyes brought countless moments of joy as he crushed hard over A-ONE and his ultimate bias Si Yeol. As would anyone bumping completely by accident into their fantasy, he frose but for a moment and retreated within himself. Unwilling to let Si Yeol know how gone he was for him and his inside connections to him, he became an awkward introvert.

Si Yeol, on the other hand, was a piece of work. Consumed by an obsession for Ju Ha, and misunderstanding the external relationships, he sets about a plan to hurt Ae Jun. Along the way, when all was told, he succeeded in hurting all involved and more than any other, he hurt himself. Confronted by his actions, he realizes too late after the damage was done, that he had fallen hard for Ae Jun. The bubbly bright smile had captured him.

The kiss. I felt so rewarded by their reconciliation and the kiss. Perfectly soft and tender.

Ju ha has been in fighting mode since the series began. Fighting to understand why Ji Kyusong broke up with him. Fighting his feelings of rejection. Fighting to move on. Fighting to get him back. Fighting to not love him more than he already does. Ji Kyusong, caught at the end with no other excuses, finally gives in. He had loved him so much, he had pushed him away so that he would not have a negative impact on Ju Ha's career. What he forgot to take into consideration was that Ju Ha had a mind of his own and he wanted only him.

It has been a very very very long while that I have seen a Korean bl that was so light and fluffy and bringing so much happiness with and about adults. I cheesed hard when the cast of Jazz For Two made a cameo. I missed them, too. Kevin did a fantastic job in bringing Ae Jun to life. Standing next to the big teddy bear Kang Min, you can't help but fall for their chemistry. No doubt, they worked well together. His towering over him conveyed how much he would protect him. Ae Jun's mini melt downs with Ji Kyusong, brought countless smiles.

While I do appreciate more hard hitting heart wrenching stuff, it's good to switch it up and appreciate a little gem when it catches your eye.

Recommend to watch: Approved!

not bad

This Bl was pretty good. The story had a light and fun vibe, and I liked how it played with the whole idea of bias and fandom in a BL setting. The chemistry between the leads worked well, and even if it wasn’t the most intense or dramatic series, it was still enjoyable to watch.

It’s one of those dramas that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that made it easy to follow and entertaining. Not perfect, but definitely worth checking out if you want something simple and sweet.

Not as fluffy as I thought, and too short to execute well.

Subjective Gut Rating: 7.75

First of all, I did not read the webtoon, but I heard it is a lot raunchier than this PG-13 drama.

I’m a little too old to have a bias and be as star-struck as our male lead, Na Ae Jun. But I can understand the surprise when your bias shows up at your workplace and you get to spend every day with him shooting a reality show. The premise of “My Bias Is Showing?!” is interesting and I am happy to learn more about this super fan’s world.

Personally, I do not find any member of the boy group attractive. The bias here, Choi Se Yeol, is also not giving me a popular idol vibe. I think this might be due to the acting of Kim Kang Min. I thought he was a newbie but he actually has a lot more acting experience than Kevin. Unfortunately, his portrayal of Choi Si Yeol is neither cool and charismatic, nor approachable and friendly. I just don’t care for him at all. His pursuit of Na Ae Jun is laughable. He has this nonchalant look on his face and always appears so disinterested.

Kevin, on the other hand, is cuter and the acting is better. I’m surprised to see that this is his first acting gig. His awkwardness is not cringey and I do like him switching to his teacher mode when needed. As a 29-year old teacher, he just acts really young. But I am going to chalk that down as being starstruck.

I would have liked to see a more enthusiastic courtship. I also needed to see more of how Choi Si Yeol slowly falls in love with Na Ae Jun. The short episodes do not give the script enough time to develop. The secondary couple also wrapped things up at lightning speed. They seem like an afterthought as well, when their story has so much more potential. Again, not enough time to fully develop all these interesting plotlines.

Additionally, I was looking for a cute and fluffy drama. I don’t think there’s enough fluff (maybe others think that’s enough). If the courtship was written better, they could have inserted more cute fluffiness and not only save that for the last episode.

Overall, “My Bias Is Showing?!” is a simple, short and easy watch. It’s not going to blow you away nor will it frustrate you. If the acting from the superstar is better, I might have enjoyed it more.

It had potential

This drama had potential when it come to storyline but it went nowhere, the actors are visually beautiful but their delivery to their lines were so boring, the chemistry wasn't much either, the revenge didnt make any sense bcz it wouldn't benefit anyone, it was hard to understand the goal behind it.

My Favorite ?

I really liked this story, so I'm leaving a comment.I really like the story and the acting. What I like most is ParkJin-woo Smile. He really Cute And Very Lovely 🥰His acting was so good that I almost cried. He's so alive, both when he's laughing and when he's crying, you can't even tell he's acting.I really love his smile. He's a really good actor.

For Kim Gang Min
He's a really good actor.I really like the acting scenes in the early episodes where he really falls in love at first sight. Then, finding out he was lying was a real breakthrough for me.He really acts so well, like my ex-boyfriend, acting like he loves me and not like me.(Sorry for the personal comments, haha)I really like how the story progresses gradually. It's not too big, but it's not too heavy, either. It doesn't feel like you're actually watching a movie, it feels like you're watching real life right next to them. Both of them acted very well. You acted so well that you were happy when they were happy and cried when they were crying.I only regret one thing, the episodes are too few. Can you please make about twenty episodes? I really can't watch enough of them.I'm rooting for both of them. May they be very happy and successful. I love them both (I love Park Jin-woo
with his sweet smile more).
