Never underestimate Li Pei Yi
Others have written excellent, more extensive reviews so I'm not going to spend a lot of words talking about the wonderful acting, script and production values that make this a top-notch historical c-drama. I just want to lay the thought for new viewers: Do not ever underestimate Li Pei Yi. She is an unbelievably brilliant master of events and everything ultimately plays out according to her schemes. Just when you think she has lost hold of the reigns, things will turn and show how she was riding a completely different horse. What a great character and Bai Lu does a wonderful job portraying her.Was this review helpful to you?
Bai lu and Xing yue the best couple
I watched the drama and I love it, the drama should get more rank. It's really so good. and I love the acting of bai lu and xing yue. they are really look so good together. I wish they be the couple in real life. they are really so good. and the story is also good. All though I thought their love should be shown better. then the story will be better. ok, no problem i wish there will be more drama of them together with more love. If xing yue know martial arts in this drama it would be better. so i really want another drama of bai lu and xing yue where xing yue know martial artsWas this review helpful to you?

My question to who ever that's reading this is how well are you familiar with the feeling of being weak and powerless, unveil jadewind presents it's self from the view of the powerful the privileged the feeling of having to do as you please.This is my first cdrama that l had to watch and it got me hooked.
If you're not watching this you are missing a whole lot.

Where is the the intrigue and charm?
This series is missing something as a viewer. Neither is it able to build intrigue and mystery nor does it have endearing loveable characters to root for. It is not very successful either as a story or in its protagonists. I am struggling to feel anything for the leads and the cases they are chasing. It could have been so much better with evocative ambient music and more developed interpersonal connection. Master - Protegee , King- daughter, King- Minister, Detective duo, ...there is nothing specifically charming enough in any of these relationships, nor in the mysteries these pairings are trying to uncover/cover. What great talent, Bai Lu and Wang Xingyue could have been great even as siblings in this series, only if the screenplay was good enough, but it is not! It tries so hard to be smart that it forgets to be entertaining! Sorry guys, it is a skippable drama.Was this review helpful to you?

Not captivating enough for me
Dont bother commenting on my review this is just my opinion which we are all entitiled to. As my title says it just is not captivating me enough. I dont feel any connection to any of the characters,nor care if anyone dies at this point. I love bailu and also like the ML from other shows ive seen him in but he takes a back seat to her in this show and his persona is just to calm and gentle. He plays a better character on the double. His character is just too boring and shes just the character weve seen over and over,the self righteous girl who always puts other before herself and would die to protect others etc. Nothing about the storyline is original. Im also watching the how dare you drama and i am really loving that one because even though that (falling into the story) trope has been done before,chang lei's character is a masterpiece and there is humor,seriousness,romance,scheming etc its kind of an all in one and its really fresh and captivating. This will just be one of those dramas i dont remember if i watched or not 2 years from now. So i just dropped it because i kinda feel like im wasting my time with it and i dont get that excited feeling when i press play,ive just been watching when the other shows im watching are all caught up and i have nothing else to watch. Lovely, Loving the series
Okay i am up to episode 8 and I keep loving the series, really love the interaction between Li Pei Yi and Xiao Huai Jin, well i could say the tag slight romance should be there. The fight scenes are really great, but I wasn't happy as Xiao Huai Jin can't fight. If he could fight would be very glad, well i could say Xiao Huai Jin is too smart as in a genius, and Li Pei Yi is smart and really skilled at fighting.Love the calm. composed male lead

Really, a great investigative story came of Wang Xing Yue. Stayed for the smart male lead and skilled fighter female lead.

You will not regret watching this Drama❣️
From team productions, visuals, plot twists, and characters portraying everything is very excellent. Especially Bailu and Wangxingyue they match very well. And it's only 8 episodes, how much more the upcoming ones. The cases and mysteries they're going to solve are getting intense and difficult. Although I'm hoping for a happy ending but the most important for me is for Bailu to find justice for her family at the end.Was this review helpful to you?

Boring as hell
Detective dramas are not my passion, but when I compare them the top one which comes to mind is "A league of nobleman".The plot has to keep you invested with each discovery from start until the very end. We had few releases in 2025 like "The Wanted Detective" which started great but became pure boredom midway and "Coroner's Diary" which was ultimate trash.
I see a negative trend that the new Chinese Dramas look very good, actors are doing their best, but the story telling is simply not there. Unveil: Jadewind is no exception to this trend.
Many fans would give this auto 10 just because it is Bai Lu or Wang Xing Yue, but the truth is that without these actors you would finish and forget immediately that this drama existed.
Bai Lu is trying something different, however she is a total miss cast for this role. I see short & fragile woman trying to be the strong big boss. Wang Xing Yue also played this role of supporting lethal character, he looked bored at times so it wasn't just me. There is no surprise, no mystery , nothing to keep me invested watching this aside from pretty actor's faces.

Not for me
This seemed like a good drama, hoever it was just not for me. ... Dr crime series just tend to go on over and over its same thing.It felt like this drama was just never ending, like three crimes were just unsolvable and it just dragged on and on. Like there was no point to drama.
The characters were good and well matched b and each of them made the case with the story.
Unfortunately I did not get into the drama and literally just skipped some of the episodes!
