beautiful ending
At first before completing the series i also have some complaints about it, mainly because the fl rejected the male lead a lot (i love feiyu so much, so i couldnt bear to see his character being sad). But after finished watching episode 28, i think both of them have some points and reasonable reasons to decide what they had to decide before, and in the current time, both of them finally admit their own mistakes, their regrets, and both of them are willing to change for the better.After completing the series, when i rewatch this drama again from the start, i value it more, the drama becomes more beautiful, more make sense, more wholesome. Because of the satisfying and beautiful ending, i appreciate this drama more when i rewatch it.

Rewatch value highest ever
As a fan of Chen Feiyu, I was initially drawn to this show purely because of his involvement, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it far exceeded my expectations. From the very first episode, the series captivated me with its compelling storytelling, well-developed characters, and high production quality, quickly becoming one of my favorite viewing experiences. Having watched only halfway through the season, I’m already convinced that this will be my show of the year.One of the standout aspects of the series is its rewatchability, a rare quality that sets it apart from other shows I’ve seen. While waiting eagerly for new episodes to drop, I found myself revisiting earlier ones, and to my delight, each rewatch brought just as much joy as the first viewing. The layers of nuance in the writing, the emotional depth of the performances, and the intricate details in the production design make every episode rewarding to revisit. This is the first show where I’ve felt such consistent excitement and satisfaction when rewatching, a testament to its exceptional craftsmanship.
The show’s opening sequence is particularly noteworthy. Each episode begins with a beautifully performed theme song, a duet sung by the female lead (FL) and male lead (ML). This creative choice not only showcases the chemistry between the leads but also sets the perfect tone for the story. It’s a small but impactful touch that enhances the overall viewing experience.

Flashbacks
I detest flashbacks. I particularly loathe a show that relies so heavily on digging into and regurgitating the past. Touch on the main points and get on with it. Do I really need to know who ate what at the cafeteria? Not enough time spent developing the present. I really wanted to like this, but watching is really painful.Was this review helpful to you?

Not as bad as what other say
the beginning of this drama is definitely better than the latter half, that is because its all the sweet moments of their relationship. Lets be real, life has its sweet moments and hard moments. Of course we all love the lovey dovey moments but despite the up moments , the downs in life really help to make it well rounded to show the reality of relationship.I felt that 28 was just enough episodes, any more and it would be even more draggy.
The male and female lead definitely had good chemistry!
If only they would talk about their problems to each other and not just use their own ways to make a their own decision about the relationship.

Watch It For The Cast
I think the story in itself was beautiful enough except for the cliches. Arthur did a great job at portraying the various emotions. His eyes were enough to convey all that Gan Yang felt. The rest of the cast did well too with sizzling chemistry. Zhitong i think could've been acted in a better way. If every time she pushed Yang away, she had included micro expressions of dilemna, this would've been more relatable. Overall, she was a great character who just did not want to be dependent on anyone and her love for Gan Yang was evident for all those times she was ready to throw it all away for him even towards the end. She was admirable enough. Gan Yang too acted as most boyfriends do even in real life when they think they cannot give their gfs what they deserve as most males have provider mindset. But he did his best to win her back towards the end. Overall the other couples were brilliant in their own ways.I just wish FL's reasons to push the ML away were shown in earlier episodes
Overall i love this drama for showing a different side of Arthur, different from Li Xun.

Its good but not super good .
im loving everything bout this drama except A LOT of cut scenes ? the story feel like it rushing to end it and throughout to the end suddenly FL get back with ML without proper show how the progress of her opening up to him again, like it so sudden for her to soften her heart . I saw a lot of vid for their suppose scene were cut, if they didnt cut those scenes it will be more proper explain of the storyline . They shoulda stick to 30ep instead cut it till become 28ep only that aired ! The romance too , there were suppose to have a scene where they do a passionate kiss but it were freakin cut 😭The promo poster of the two bear , there also a scene for that , they did wore it , it was during those progress where they will get back as a couple again and it was cut 😭😭😭
a lot literally A LOT good scenes were NOT include , that was sooo disappointing bout this drama . Its good but if just the production/editing team do better job , it will be easy to rate 10 but ugh i dont mind the long flashback cause thats how in the novel too .
btw Sabrina is so pretty ! I've been hook with her drama since then , i love the Mountain and Ocean and You Are Desire . The best drama from her .

I was about to drop this not because it is bad but because of the negative reviews.I saw the reviews and was afraid to continue watching after break up scenes.But then I decided to rewatch because I can't get rid of their chemistry and love story.So I continued.Well I also hate when couples break up in dramas while they love each other.I can't handle such things so I hated that part. Reviews say they find this drama annoying because FL is always pushing ML away. So I think from her place as in the drama. And yes I would also feel like her if I were in her situation. And I can feel both of their pains,what they have been through. They have their rights for their feelings and pain. Most of the people who rate negative reviews to this drama are the ones who can't move on from Lighter and Princess. So if you are new to this drama, please do not listen to people's opinions. Disappointed with story
I like a strong female lead dramas personally but this one was not a strong FL, just an annoying teenager who thinks from her ego. At times i was so annoyed with her sense of righteousness that I rage quit the so many times. The little romantic scenes here and there had me picking it up again. But that's it.I am not usually looking for logic when watching Chinese dramas but common on. After L&P I had such high expectations. It started good. But one they flash backed into school, I just kept waiting for them to come back to present. Sadly I quit this drama altogether and went back to watching L&P just to recover from the disappointment. Maybe will pick this again in future or watch those synopsis videos on YouTube to rush watch it.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME TO FINISH THIS DRAMA
WHY? WHY? WHY?**Deeply Disappointed – Hard to Sit Through**
As someone who has been eagerly waiting for Chen's next modern drama since *Lighter and Princess*, this show has been a massive letdown. I had high hopes, but just a few episodes in, I found myself struggling to continue even writing this while forcing myself to get through another minute.
I honestly can't grasp the storyline, nor can I understand what convinced Chen to take on this project. Many reviews mention great chemistry between the leads, but to me, it's far from convincing. In fact, I found the chemistry in *Binary Love* significantly more genuine and engaging.
The dialogue delivery feels unnaturally rushed like it's being played at 1.5x speed but somehow, the plot still drags painfully slow. It’s a frustrating mix that makes it difficult to stay engaged.
If you're considering watching this, I’d strongly recommend skipping it. Unfortunately, it feels like a complete waste of time.

Resolvi fazer escrever essa resenha pois só vi pessoas falando mal! Eu gostei! Adoro romance e achei esse melhor que muitos cdramas que vi. Não fiquei nenhum pouco cansada vendo esse drama. A história fluiu bem. Eu recomendo pra que gosta de romance! Não concordo com as pessoas que dizem ser errolação. Acho que a FL tinha muito medo por tudo que ela passou e o desenvolvimento foi bom! No final, compreende-se o porque ela foi tão dura com o ML. Poderia ter mais cenas felizes, mas eu assisti com vontade! Una versione molto più modesta di L&P ma comunque apprezzabile
L’approccio a questo drama è stato un misto di speranza e timore, in entrambi i casi legati a un paragone per me imprescindibile, quello con il drama “Lighter & Princess”. La speranza nasceva dal fatto di ritrovare lo stesso attore protagonista – solitamente impegnato in serie di genere fantasy/Wuxia, non i miei preferiti –qui di nuovo alle prese con una commedia romantica moderna. Il timore era per il confronto con L&P, tra le mie serie preferite, difficile da eguagliare e quindi col rischio che le aspettative fossero disattese.La mia recensione nasce quindi dal confronto tra le due e, a drama concluso, posso dire che è una storia sì meritevole ma non al pari di L&P.
LA STRUTTURA NARRATIVA – E’ praticamente la stessa: l’avvio, nel presente, vede i due protagonisti incontrarsi quasi per caso dopo anni dalla separazione. Da lì segue un tuffo nel passato, un lungo flashback che ripercorre la loro storia ai tempi dell’università, da quando si conoscono fino al momento in cui si lasciano. Si torna quindi al presente, con lo spettatore ora più consapevole dei trascorsi, e da lì la vicenda evolve ulteriormente fino alla conclusione.
IL CONTESTO – Sia ai tempi dell’università che dopo nel mondo lavorativo, il settore è quello finanziario (in L&P informatica). Ben presenti in entrambi, non caratterizzano solo le passioni e le professioni dei protagonisti sulla carta ma vanno proprio a intrecciarsi negli eventi e nelle vicende narrate. Ho trovato forse più ricco e stimolante il mondo della programmazione informatica, mi è sembrato ci fossero più riscontri nel concreto.
LA PROTAGONISTA - Di Ding Zhi Tong è sicuramente apprezzabile l’impegno e la correttezza, il suo timore rispetto alla stabilità economia ha senso se si guarda al suo passato, ma è un elemento che tende davvero a trascinarsi molto, forse troppo, specialmente nella prima parte della serie. Nella seconda parte, invece, manca un po’ di convinzione e coraggio. Una protagonista insomma un po’ più fragile e debole rispetto alla Zhu Yun di L&P.
IL PROTAGONISTA - Gan Jang è davvero ben caratterizzato, e per molti versi mi ricorda molto Li Xun (protagonista di L&P): intelligente e perspicace negli affari, determinato e caparbio, fermo e risoluto all’occorrenza, sicuro di sé, di chi vuole essere e degli obiettivi che vuole raggiungere, disposto a tutto per quello che ritiene il bene della protagonista, anche a compiere delle scelte controproducenti e a farsi carico di importanti responsabilità, accettando anche di essere frainteso. Rispetto a Li Xun, che nella sua genialità era anche molto introverso, decisamente asociale e poco espansivo, Gan Jang mostra un carattere molto più empatico e un atteggiamento generale spesso più sano. Certo, nella prima parte della serie il suo mettersi costantemente al servizio di Tong è forse un po’ eccessivo, dove sembra doverla compiacere a tutti i costi, ma fortunatamente riesce a ritrovare un equilibrio più avanti, quando lo vediamo confrontarsi senza timore con il padre o con Wang Sen.
LA COPPIA – Un discreto affiatamento fa funzionare il duo abbastanza bene, ma la chimica presente in L&P, dove anche lo scambio di sguardi sapeva essere intenso e carico di emozione, è tutt’altra cosa. Ho notato anche un’evoluzione minore, già che nella prima parte abbiamo fin da subito un Gan Jang innamorato perso e servizievole nei confronti di Tong, quindi un buon periodo roseo di coppia ma poi, dopo la rottura, la titubanza di Tong viene davvero tirata per le lunghe. L&P mostrava uno scenario di coppia più ricco ma anche più saldo, dove i bisticci e le prese in giro iniziali vengono sostituiti da una tregua, quindi una collaborazione, poi un interesse sempre più accentuato fino al formarsi della coppia. Il ritrovarsi dopo la rottura vede anche lì molte più sfumature (rancore, diffidenza iniziale, collaborazione forzata, tregua, confronto e confessione) rispetto a “Eat, run, love” dove invece, per quanto coerentemente con la storia portata avanti, abbiamo un Gan Jang perennemente dedito a inseguire Tong (salvo l’averla allontanata nel momento cruciale) e una Tong che pare volere correre più veloce di lui e sfuggirgli quasi all’infinito. Altro aspetto comune ai due drama è l’estrazione sociale diversa dei protagonisti (qui Gan Jang figlio di imprenditori e Tong cresciuta tra i debiti, in L&P Zhu Yun proveniente da una famiglia benestante e Li Xun che può fare affidamento solo su sé stesso)
I PERSONAGGI SECONDARI: Eat, Run, Love propone più pairing secondari rispetto a L&P. Di questi, Xu Chen Xi e Wang YI sono la coppia più interessante. Più che l’amico fidato, è l’amica di infanzia ad avermi piacevolmente stupita: un personaggio la cui rivalità con la protagonista suscita inizialmente una naturale e ben giustificata antipatia, salvo poi cambiare e diventare una fidata spalla per Gan Jang e la LT ma, insospettabilmente, anche per il riunirsi della coppia principale. Gli altri personaggi secondari non particolarmente degni di nota, nemmeno i cattivi. Punto di forza di L&P era ad esempio anche la squadra della Rete Cuore Alato, oltre a un antagonista, Lao Gao, che non era solo un avversario ma anche un ex-amico, con tutto il carico di invidia/gelosia/fiducia/amicizia che comportava.
RECITAZIONE: di alto livello in entrambe. Chen Fei Yu si dimostra ancora una volta un attore davvero performante, soprattutto nei passaggi più seri e drammatici (al sorriso di Gan Jang continuerò sempre a preferire lo sguardo imperscrutabile di Li Xun, sia chiaro). Al di là del ruolo interpretato questo giovane e promettente attore si dimostra davvero elegante, oltre ad avere un timbro di voce particolarmente affascinante. Sabrina Zhuang sempre molto brava, come mi era già capitato di notare in “You are desire”. Per quanto riguarda il resto del cast, quello di L&P lo metterei però su un gradino superiore.
MUSICHE – Su questo fronte si è volato un po’ basso. L’unica che ho notato è la sigla iniziale e, per quanto graziosa e delicata, non è niente di speciale. Una colonna sonora senza infamia e senza lode, come ce ne sono tante, che preferisce la sicurezza della comfort zone. Sicuramente siamo lontani dalle musiche di L&P, dove ne conto diverse davvero molto belle e varie, capaci di promuovere ciascuna la giusta scena, a partire dalla sigla di apertura, che con il suo ritmo e carattere non passa certo in sordina.
STORIA – Simili nella tipologia e nella struttura narrativa, dicevo, ma diverse nei contenuti. Il giovane imprenditore col sogno di ottime scarpe da corsa alla portata di tutti entusiasma solo fino a un certo punto, così come la gavetta di lei nel mondo della finanza per diventare MD. L’intreccio tra vita, percorsi, relazioni e futuro professionale poteva essere studiato meglio (in L&P gli anni dell’università vedono progetti di lavoro comune, anche con quello che poi sarà il principale antagonista). Anche il momento drammatico che porta alla rottura della coppia, in “Eat, run, love” non è così drammatico come nell’altra serie. In generale, l’impressione è quella di non aver saputo o voluto osare, a discapito del coinvolgimento dello spettatore, che è sicuramente inferiore. Come in L&P ho apprezzato l’inserimento di alcuni piccoli dettagli distintivi (le gru di carta, il primo paio di scarpe prodotte, la tisana allo zenzero, la lettura in inglese per conciliare il sonno, il vestito bianco, la canzone citata nel segnalibro, la corsa, ecc.) anche se nell’insieme meno iconici.
INIZIO SPOILER!!! L’ultimo episodio rappresenta un po’ una caduta, sbilanciato nel ritmo (tante scene concentrate a raffica, quando si sono spesi molti episodi precedenti a dilungarsi troppo) e una chiusura davvero un po’ troppo OOC per lui (avevo così apprezzato la sua affermazione nella maratona pre-dichiarazione, dove sottolineava come dovesse essere un momento privato tra due persone, senza pubblico a guardare). E invece si conclude in modo banale e troppo plateale, pazienza. FINE SPOILER!!!
PRODUZIONE – La troupe dietro le quinte è sicuramente valida, dalla regia alla scenografia al montaggio. Il direttore artistico, tra l’altro, è lo stesso di L&P.
GIUDIZIO FINALE
Di sicuro non è una perla rara, ma un buon drama, godibile per chi cerca una classica commedia romantica con qualche elemento drammatico e una recitazione di alto livello. Per i fan di L&P rappresenta una sorta di chicca nostalgica, pur con svariati limiti. Il consiglio per apprezzarle al meglio, per chi è ancora in tempo, è di vedere prima “Eat, run, love” e, solo a seguire, L&P.
