A Feel Good BL from KristSingto

Now I understand why this series is a feel-good one, because the story itself is based on some real-life events that happened between Krist and Singto, such as Singto planning to go abroad for his Master's Degree, which never happened. Each episode I watched made me feel "kilig to the bones" because, compared to the first two series (SOTUS and SOTUS S; although I only watched the pilot episode of SOTUS), you saw them as teenagers with natural chemistry. In this series, I see them as adults, but still true to their off-camera personalities. Their kisses are so real, like, OMG, this is so real. Speaking of kisses, the cinematography is on point, and the storyline itself is very refreshing. Why is it very refreshing? Because of the setting in a news station workplace. Overall, I consider this series a masterpiece.

My happy place ♡

I'll keep this short and sweet, much like the series itself - I enjoyed this very, very much and I hope you'll give this a try and enjoy it as much as I did.

The Ex Morning is not a rom - com, it is a series that is incredibly realistic and mature, it's exes reuniting after all. The story is simple. Phi is a journalist with a bad attitude who is down on his luck and Tam is his producer there to help him get back on his feet. Through a series of flashbacks and present narratives we see their love story play out, and see how the past has shaped their present lives and attitudes. Apart from the love story itself, there is the story arc of Phi climbing his way back up to being a respected and dedicated journalist with Tam's help, and surprisingly, it didn't get lost in the romance.

The romance itself is mature and grounded, sure they argue like children at times but when the narrative continuously shifts between past and present, it's easy to see just how much has changed - and just how much hasn't. They've been through plenty of ups and downs, they go through many more and despite their pleas for an end card during rom - com inspired scenes, we all know well and truly, they'll face much more.
But that was what made this great, no over the top romantic moments, no musical crescendos, just two people falling in love with each other over and over again. There were arguments and misunderstandings, but also communication and support. They are not a perfect couple, but they are perfect for each other.

Sure - the reason for why they separated in the first place left me a bit disappointed, but I kind of also get it.

I'm a sentimental person, SOTUS was my first series ever. From the outset, this was going to be something I loved, but I'm just glad I can say I love this on merit of it being a genuinely good show - and not just because I love Singto and Krist. Their chemistry (which was incredulously brilliant) was an added bonus. That chemistry has just grown exponentially and I loved every minute of them on screen. And my stupid sentimental heart is just so happy and in love with everything about this ♡

A solid start - the Krist-Singto magic is back, or so I thought...sigh...Nah!

Ok, I took a very long time to admit that I just could not finish watching this one.....it lost steam super quick and no matter how much I promised myself to get back to it for the love of Singto.....I just couldn't continue to watch this...😥.....and here I am, after many months of denial, finally accepting that this was just bad and a disappointment....I'm leaving my original review after Ep 1 intact below just so you know I was excited and convinced, like so many others that this will deliver..but..sigh!!

Yaay!!! Finally Krist-Singto are back ...and they are back with what seems like a good script, enough potential for mushy moments and a slice of real-life ...The chemistry is still bang on and delicious.....this definitely promises to be an action-packed and entertaining show

Just a quick observation - Is it just me, or did they seem a tad awkward for that first peck on the cheeks?? Also, it was nice to see that gentle kiss, almost felt like we are back to the SOTUS days..:D

BL-needle score: 7. Reasonable Bl-ness so far

I don't think a lot needs to be said about the anticipation this show created, since most of us would anyway turn up to just gawk at the legendary pair.....beyond the chemistry of Krist-Singto, the show promises to be well-scripted and a mostly light-hearted story so far. Even though a weather forecast anchor with his own screaming fan club is a tad umm....extreme, I admit...but with looks like Krist's, well, it's at least not unimaginable....:P

I'm also betting that the show will likely have a slice of reality (read muck) from the entertainment-news media sector...the mad competition, the star tantrums, the realities of people behind the camera, etc. I'm glad that Krist took on a character which has more than its fair share of shadow elements...also, I'm sure as the show reveals more we will learn why Padtaphi turned out to be the way he is and what really transpired between him and Tamtawan....


For now, I will be glued on. :D

Achjaj, the push-pull but in the wrong direction.
If anyone else (after thorough movie/series experiences with other projects) feels something is off here… yes, there is, you’re right.

How to put this to not trigger… ok, the hell with it. After watching this, you have to have the feeling Krist is waaaaay better an actor than Singto. Thanks to the past controversy, despite that? Well, maybe he just is. You have to have the feeling that the only times when Singto is properly acting is when he is without Krist. And you would be absolutely correct in that.
Right?
So Singto is a bad actor, right?
Well… not really?

I have seen both Singto and Krist in several roles. I was not present when Singto left the company, I don't know why that happened, I’ve heard that he is back, that Krist made him come back. I am not sure if it’s for ever or just for this project.
I have loved Singto in Paint with Love. I personally think that type of character suits him well. I have seen him in series where the character is way more detached than a romance character could be, and I would say that suits him very well too.
I have seen Krist in multiple things, acting well all the time.
It's a real pity we cannot combine the character from Paint with Love with the character Krist is portraying in The Ex-Morning.

The push-pull but in the wrong direction: What I feel the problem here is, the writer couldn’t decide who is gonna be the dominant character, making both of them both, and then… got entangled and strangled with this dynamic. Making it indeed very difficult for them — and us — to land smoothly.
I am temporarily giving up on hope that this issue will solve itself, and I see in Krist+Singto great potential acting side by side — as friends. This story is interesting, unfortunately the romance here isn’t, or not so much, or not acted properly (probably the last). In this respect, their Sotus project remains way better in the romance department than this series (maybe the leading = directing is to be blamed here).
I still like it, I will still finish, and after that I will hope for reconnection of these two in something that will suit them, their acting abilities, and that their characters will be written well… romantically better.

a nice guy turned evil by society

This was so fantastic, my lord. I missed them so much, and I would give my life for them. I would give it a 9 out of 10. You guys know the drill: what I liked, what I didn't, and then an overview. LET'S HIT IT TO THE BEAT, BABY.

What I liked. It's KristSingto. Sotus was my first Thai drama, so I have a heavy bias towards them and any show they are in. And I met them as well, so I am even more fucking biased, but swear. I enjoyed Phi's character. I don't know, I was really into it, and just seeing Krist play an explosive character was so fun. I also liked that he wasn't over his ex and even before Tam showed up, he was still thinking about him, and usually that's not great, but in the context of this show, it was fantastic. The storyline. I think the first episode is incredibly hard to get through, and I will talk about that later, but it truly gets so fucking good. I was rewatching shit before I even finished it lmao. I liked the "villains." They were really fun, and I think it's because I have never seen those two play characters like this; I ate it all the way up. They were well written at the start, and then towards the end they faded out, but they were kind of like the "its all in your head" villains, and it was great. The sex scenes MY FUCKING LORD. HOW DO WE HAVE THAT MUCH CHEMISTRY AFTER TEN FUCKING YEARSSS? My lord. Okay, so of course, both Krist and Singto have different acting skills than they did back in the day, and the two of them look different, but my god, we came back and we were ready to mother fucking rumble BITCHHHH. Someone was talking about their weight gain online and being negative about it, and I was on god, going to do some unspeakable acts to them because there is no way. Of course, they have gained weight, and oh my god, I was melting every time the two of them took their shirts off, ya girl was in a puddle. I physically didnt know what to do with myself. I have a thing for their body types, I fear. Oh god, I am gonna rewatch, but with one hand this time. I joke, I joke...yeah, for definitely a joke. I liked their dynamic. It was a rock, paper, scissors kind of thing, and I love that. Rock, paper, scissors dynamic, I say, is like a switching thing. Of course, I don't know if they were doing that, and set positions are weird, but fuckkk. I loved it. They were both dominant and submissive at the same time, my lord. BACK TO PHI'S CHARACTER, THE FUCKING DOMINANT SIDE OF HIM, MY LORD. I AM WET. Okay, that is all I can think of right now. THE SEDUCING SCENE, MY LORD I REWATCHED THAT SHIT 30 TIMES NO JOKE AND HAD TO FORCE MYSELF TO MOVE ON LMAO.

Starting off with what I didn't like. Tam's character, fuck. Okay, for the most part, it was good, but the reason why he left Phi pissed me all the way off. And the way he was fucking with him also made me angry. Uh what else. The first episode. I started this show 3 times and I couldn't get through the first episode, actually the first PART of the episode. It was so incredibly boring I had to strap myself down to a chair to get through it. And then when the coffee scene happened, I was like Why is this lowkey good as hell. But yeah, it was boringgggg. THE CAT PLOT. Bro, what the fuck are we even doing? The cat was so cute, and it was so cute that Tam refers to Phi as the cat's dad, but it just got so mehhh, and I was like What are we even doing right now? The end of our villains. I think they should have had more of like a crashing down moment, because what they did was just meh. I also didn't like the end ENDING. Like, oh, we have our certificates, now we are going to take a picture. They should have ended it at the wedding or after they came back to that scene, because that ending pissed me off. Yeah, that is all I can think of. The random ass island scene? Bro, what the fuck are we even doing? I lowkey ate it up, but it was so fucking random, my lord.

Now it is time for my overview. They are the equivalent of my irl parents getting back together, which was all weird to think about. I was thirsting over Singto because I do not remember him being that sexy. I was very interested in why they broke up, and they set that up nicely. The hazers had me so happy. Stuck on an ex. "WHY WAS THAT EP 3 HOURS LONG?" The seducing scene, I was dead. This show was all types of addictive. I met them and they were so hot. KRIST CODE SWITCHING IN THIS HAD ME DEAD. The car kissing scene. Random ass island scene. Cute.

I would recommend this one hundred times over, and I have rewatched this so many times already. Yeah. Okay bye!

How do you review The Ex-Morning when your main memories are television studios, passive-aggressive professionalism, and KristSingto looking at each other like they were personally funding therapy industries worldwide?

This series really looked at the second-chance romance genre and said, "What if we added career implosions, workplace tension, unresolved heartbreak, and enough longing to power Bangkok?"

Pathaphi was once one of the biggest names in broadcast journalism.

Then life happened.

Career setbacks happened.

Bad decisions happened.

And suddenly the man who used to be the story was becoming one himself.

Then came Tamtawan.

His ex-boyfriend.

His producer.

His problem.

His solution.

The universe truly looked at these two and said, "Communication failed the first time, so let's try mandatory proximity."

Honestly?

Cinema.

Krist brought so much pride, vulnerability, frustration, and quiet loneliness to Phi that watching him slowly unravel felt painfully human.

And Singto as Tamtawan?

The king of restraint.

The emperor of unresolved feelings.

The CEO of saying "I'm over it" while very clearly not being over it.

Watching these two navigate old wounds, unfinished conversations, and feelings that never actually left gave us some of the best emotional tension in recent Thai BL.

Because this wasn't first love.

This was harder.

This was the person who already knows your worst habits, your biggest fears, and exactly how you take your coffee.

This was history.

And history is messy.

The newsroom setting deserves its flowers too.

The deadlines.

The broadcasts.

The production meetings.

The absolute panic of live television.

Everything felt fast, stressful, and alive in exactly the way newsrooms should.

And can we talk about the people behind the camera?

Director Lit Phadung Samajarn understood exactly what this story needed: restraint. The series never rushed the reconciliation, never forced forgiveness, and trusted the audience enough to sit in the discomfort of two people who still mattered enormously to each other despite everything that happened between them.

The production teams at GMMTV and Dream Dimension built a world that felt authentic, busy, and lived in, where careers mattered just as much as relationships and where love didn't magically solve every problem overnight.

The cinematography leaned into studio lights, city nights, and quiet moments between broadcasts, while the soundtrack arrived precisely when viewers had almost regained emotional stability.

Almost.

The Ex-Morning wasn't trying to be flashy.

It wasn't trying to reinvent second-chance romances.

It simply understood one very important thing:

There is something uniquely devastating about loving someone twice.

This wasn't enemies-to-lovers.

This wasn't rivals-to-lovers.

This was ex-boyfriends-to-"oh no, the feelings survived the breakup."

10/10.

Would absolutely survive newsroom chaos, make terrible decisions in the name of love, and watch these two idiots fall in love with each other for the second time all over again.

definitely recommend the series,and there are cool Easter eggs

I had a good laugh and experienced some real "WTF" moments. Episode 9 was painful. I had a hunch something was coming, but not *that*. I really liked the development between the two of them, especially with the flashbacks. There were one or two spots where I had to look twice to see if it was a flashback or not, but I thought they were great. And the mention of SOTUS along with JASP.ER as the ringtone was delightful. There were some cool Easter eggs. The "About Time" scene was amazing, I thought it was beautiful and a lovely ending. There were moments during those scenes where I felt like punching my pillow—or rather, screaming into it. I’d definitely recommend it.

The Ex-Morning – A Love Story That Stays With You

🌅💍As a longtime BL fan (and a sapphic girl myself), watching The Ex-Morning felt like coming home to something warm, natural, and real. I’ve been following Krist and Singto since Sotus The Series back in 2017,(love Sotus representations )and seeing them together again made my heart so full. Their chemistry is timeless, but what stood out to me the most here is how natural everything felt. No unnecessary drama, no negativity – just two green forests standing strong, showing how stability, communication, and respect make a relationship flourish. 🌿💚

One thing I deeply appreciated was the communication between every character. It reminded me how important it is in real life too. And both moms? Wow. They earned my respect with their wisdom and kindness. The family dynamics in this show are truly gems – gentle, supportive, and so beautiful to watch. I personally love family fit 🎀💘

This series is simple, but it shines because of its freshness. I even picked up some new ideas about the reporting industry from it, which I didn’t expect. Every supporting character did such a good job, adding depth and charm to the story.

And honestly, thank you from the bottom of my heart for including silly little GL touches and sapphic representation. 🌸 I know not everyone appreciates it, but for girls like me, it matters so much. Seeing Gia realize her feelings for her ex’s sister? That hit deep, because yes – things like that can happen in real life, and respecting people’s identities is so important.

The last episode was pure magic for me. The whole wedding scene was dreamy and unforgettable – love won, and it also showed the success and beauty of Thailand’s marriage equality. My favorite moment? The bow they shared at the wedding. That simple gesture made me cry harder than anything else. We Asians bow to show the big respect and In my country traditions, only the bride bows to the husband – and as a sapphic, that always made me uncomfortable. But here, they bowed to each other. Equal. Respectful. Two people choosing to share their lives as partners, not as roles forced by society. It made me dream of the day I will bow to my wife, not out of duty, but out of love and respect. 🥹💖

This series is not just about love; it’s about growth, kindness, and finding the right people to journey with. From start to finish, The Ex-Morning gave me peace, happiness, and hope. To me, it’s truly the best GMM series of 2025. ✨
