Goddess Bless You from Death

This was everything I'd hoped for.

(I got a few questions at the bottom of this review if anyone wants to answer them)


Goddess Bless You From Death had everything I love: horror, mystery, romance, humor, you name it.

It is such a beautifully shot, atmospheric show. Even the abandoned/dilapidated buildings had a haunting beauty to them and the way they were shot. The plot was just complex enough to keep you wondering and guessing, but not too complex that you had a hard time following along. The makeup for the deceased/sacrificed characters was so creepy I will forever have nightmares about The Split Mouth Ghost and the Hollowed Eye Ghost.

I had no clue about one of the ghost kids being Thup's half-brother, but I did have my suspicions about Aisoon being Atikun. Overall, I was hooked from the first episode and loved every second of it. I enjoyed seeing an actual relationship with Darin and Sey since we didn't get much in PitBabe. I think their chemistry can make them a powerhouse in the BL world. (But maybe lose the red/pink hair) I love puppydog Pooh and tough Pavel, but I would love to see the roles reversed in the future.

I still have a few leftover questions, so if you read this and have the answers, let me know.
* Who was Bau, and why was Atikun/Asioon crying over their body and singing happy birthday to them? We know he had two kids, Bom by Chaba and Thup by Dao, so was Bau supposed to be another kid of his?
* When we start the show, the seven body ritual was completed already. Why was it restarted? From what I saw, it wasn't interrupted; Thup found the doll by the tree later on. So why was the ritual repeated so soon?
*What was the point in showing the Hollowed Eyed Ghost killing Mesa? Was that just a way to connect Mesa and Thup since they could both see ghosts?

Thrilling Horror That Keeps You Hooked

If you are looking for horror, case solving, and genuinely scary moments, give this a go.

I started this show knowing only that it was horror, and it absolutely kept me on the edge of my seat. It was worth my time from start to finish. Every cast member delivers strong performances and truly deserves more recognition. The makeup and sound effects are outstanding, creating an immersive experience that made it hard to stop watching. I kept telling myself just one more episode.

The story focuses on a single case throughout the series, which can feel slightly repetitive at times in terms of the ghost and investigation. However, it never becomes boring because each cast member fully embodies their character and keeps the story engaging.

Suspend Your Disbelief

Story:
The series has great bones. I can really tell it's from a novel because the show speeds through everything just to land on clearly defined story points. The writing was just too stupid for me.
We have serious horror themes, then it jumps to a "serious" officer doing the most unserious things. For example, he goes to the temple that's being investigated for ritual sacrifice and decides to trust one of the two main suspects. Another stupid thing: why is the "spiritual witness" the one finding evidence at the crime scene? Did they not even sift through the dirt at all?
Last thing: they investigate two victims' houses, then suddenly get the idea to investigate the rest of the victims' homes. Like... NO DUH!
The story just isn't well balanced, in my opinion. There's too much "just suspend your disbelief" mixed with horror, mystery, and emotional backstory. I couldn't get sucked in because it all felt like a mess.

Acting:
Everyone but Thub deserves their flowers! The ghost truly stole the show. Pavel and Otto had great acting chemistry. Whenever they were on screen together, I believed them. Then Thub walks on screen with his derpy smile and gives us the most unnatural performance of his life.

Music:
Very funny music. It reminded me of yodeling a little. I enjoyed it!

Overall:
To be completely honest, I only enjoyed the romance aspect, which is shocking because I'm a plot girl all the way. I just love scenes where it's only two people having a discussion about their wants and feelings. Then it cuts back to the police work, and my brain turns back on because none of it makes sense.
The white-eyed ghost was also a treat!
This version keeps your wording, humor ("Like... NO DUH!" and "derpy smile"), and opinions, while mainly fixing grammar, punctuation, and readability. It should still sound like you wrote it.

I’m giving it a 6.5 because artist put effort into this and I always consider the passion behind a project. If I was being brutally honest though I would really give a 4/10.

The bl industry is stepping up

I've rewatched the first episode at least 5 times everything about it was intense and well done
Acting was on point and the production team did a very a good job
And if you're a filming gig you're 100% going to enjoy this series the camera work was very enjoyable to follow
The horror was good enough and the story is already giving
I hope a lot of people will try this one because I'm sure you won't regret it
It's a high quality BL that everyone on the team worked hard so we can see this result
Now that I have finished the whole series I'm not afraid to call it a complete masterpiece from the first episode to the final episode there was no boring moment and the series ended up perfectly with a good pace

Goddess Bless You From Death (2025) – EP.10 Review

Finally caught up! 🔥

This series is an occult thriller BL that blends supernatural elements with a crime investigation storyline, and it’s been surprisingly engaging.

The story follows Singha, a detective investigating a bizarre serial murder case. The victims are found hanging from a tree inside an abandoned mall, with their eyes and mouths sewn shut using red thread—an unsettling and memorable visual that immediately sets the tone.

At the crime scene, he encounters Toop, a young man who can see spirits. Initially treated as a suspect, Toop gradually proves that his ability is real, and Singha has no choice but to accept it.

What makes their dynamic interesting is that Singha himself seems to be protected by some unknown force. Being near him allows Toop to live more peacefully, creating a subtle but compelling bond between them.

In the beginning, the series leans more toward the occult murder mystery, with very little BL focus. However, around EP.4, the BL elements become much more prominent, especially with the introduction of Singha’s ex-boyfriend, King.

The case itself is layered and spans across different timelines—incidents that occurred 5 and 10 years ago, eventually leading back to a key event 25 years ago in Sisaket province, which appears to be connected to Toop.

Despite having many suspicious characters and complex supernatural elements, the story doesn’t fall apart. It actually does a good job of guiding the viewer through the mystery without making it confusing.

EP.10 is particularly emotional. It reveals that King is not just a cruel or manipulative character, adding more depth to his actions and making the situation more tragic than it initially seemed.

Overall, this is a series that keeps you hooked with its mystery while gradually building emotional weight.

I’d say it’s definitely worth your time.

⚠️ Warning: The special effects (especially the “slit-mouthed woman”) are quite disturbing, so be prepared if you’re sensitive to horror elements.

Loving in Silence: The Tragic Heart of Goddess Bless You From Death

Goddess Bless You From Death is a series that truly surprised me. It delivers a great, well-constructed plot, balancing its horror elements with BL romance in a way that feels natural and engaging rather than forced. The mystery keeps you interested, the horror atmosphere is well developed, and the emotional stakes grow stronger with each episode.

One of the strongest points of the series is the chemistry between the main leads. Thup and Singha feel believable, intense, and emotionally connected, which makes their relationship easy to root for. Their scenes together carry both tenderness and tension, and the romance develops alongside the plot instead of interrupting it.

The performances from the entire cast deserve praise. Every actor brings depth to their role, making even morally complex or controversial characters feel real. No one feels flat or unnecessary — everyone contributes to the story.

But the character that touched me the most is King.

At first, it’s easy to see him as cold, controlling, or even cruel. He interferes with Thup and Singha’s relationship, and he makes choices that seem selfish and harmful. I didn’t like him at first — but I also couldn’t truly hate him. There was something more beneath the surface, and episode 7 finally revealed it.

King is not a bad person at all — he is deeply misunderstood. Everything he does, every morally gray decision, comes from love and fear. His father, a powerful man with the ability to destroy lives, has controlled King for years. Disobeying him doesn’t mean freedom; it means danger for Singha. King obeys, not because he agrees with cruelty, but because protecting Singha is more important than his own happiness or reputation.

He carries the weight of hate, misunderstanding, and loneliness silently, accepting blame that isn’t truly his. Even after Singha stops trusting him and breaks up with him, King continues to protect him, quietly and without complaint. And yet, beneath this burden, there is still a child longing for love, for approval, for recognition — something his father never gave him.

King doesn’t ask to be forgiven. He doesn’t ask to be understood. He just endures, silently, loving fiercely and painfully, choosing someone else’s safety over his own happiness every single time. Seeing his story unfold broke my heart, but it also made me admire him — his love is tragic, pure, and devastatingly human.

King is not the villain of this series. He is its quiet, tragic heart, and his story is the reason Goddess Bless You From Death left such a lasting impression on me.

“Okay… what am I supposed to do now?” (´；ω；｀)💔

It felt like the whole world just stopped because one of my favorite series had ended 🌙✨

That feeling alone pretty much explains how much I loved this series 💖

this was a HUGE step up from pitbabe

i still love pitbabe but it eventually lacked a sort of something but GBYFD never bored me!! it always kept me on the hook and i always was jumping to the next episode. their acting was amazing and they were able to portray every emotion. pavel's acting especially made me cry with his sister (character) and the final ep. the story definitely had a stronger backbone than pit babe, although i did get lost on the whole relative thing and in the end forgot everything but i was still gripped!! pavelpooh will never bore me 💚

okay, i kind of feel like i need to say they were let down here by the way the story then turned. i was super invested with the storyline at first. it was serious and eerie and supernatural - all the things i enjoy from time to time!! however, as it went on, the story started drifting towards the romance department and essentially forgot about the story and decided to throw a bunch of nonsense at it. i was super confused when bom was revealed as the killer AND related to thup - like what?? they never even explored that storyline anyway. why did atikhun specifically need thup for the ritual if it could've just been anybody born on saturday. the premise and idea of it is so so good and i HEAVILY f'ed with it up until around the time King's dad started getting involved and it all just seeped through cracks and eventually became romance.
i still appreciate the acting of all the actors and i think they did an amazing job!! i became connected to the characters.

its a shame that in the end the plot was a whole bunch of nonsense but i will never say i didn't enjoy the acting! i loved them so much, give them back 💚
