I regret not watching it sooner: A hidden gem

I dropped Fated Hearts twice at episode one, honestly thinking it wasn't my cup of tea. I can’t even recall what turned me off initially, but out of pure boredom, I decided to give it one more shot. I am so glad I did.
IT IS A MASTERPIECE, and my only regret is that I didn't watch it sooner.

The Story & Romance
At first glance, the premise might remind you of Are You the One (2024), but the execution is completely different. The way the Male Lead treats the Female Lead is incredibly refreshing. He is honest and avoids the typical "useless misunderstandings" that plague so many dramas. The relationship development is natural, logical, and never feels childish. It is truly a mature, well-written progression that keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Performances
Chen Zhe Yuan as Feng Sui Ge is nothing short of perfection. I truly don't think anyone else could have inhabited this role. His expressiveness and natural charm were captivating. Additionally, the choreography for his martial arts scenes was the "top of the top". I'm genuinely impressed by the training that he must have gone through for those sequences.
I also have to shout out Qin Tian Yu, who played the Emperor of Jinxiu. Even though his character was "crazy", he was so charismatic that I couldn't bring myself to hate him. He truly stole the spotlight alongside the leads.
On the flip side, the Princess of Susha was easily the most unlikeable character for me. I found myself genuinely frustrated by her actions throughout the series.

Small Critique
If I had one complaint, it would be the antagonists. While their role was clearly to serve as a foil to the ML, I found their schemes a bit lackluster. They weren't particularly clever, and I often wondered how they managed to survive as long as they did with such poor planning.

Final Thoughts
From beginning to end, this drama hits all the right notes. The script is tight, the internal logic of the world is consistent, and there were no "pulled out of thin air" plot points. I finished this series feeling completely satisfied, yet with a lingering sense of regret that it was so short. I could have watched these characters for an eternity.

THIS DRAMA WOULD GET YOU HOOKED WITHOUT EVEN REALISING AND THE TROPE IS SO WELL DONE

*Spoilers*
First of all, the acting is so good especially of our leads, loved their banter as well. I usually am not a big fan of enemies to lovers but I have to say they nailed it! It did not look forced and was very easy to believe.
Another thing is oh my, the sub plots, there were twists that I did not see coming....
Didn't like xia jingshi whatsoever and tbh i was not very excited about his plan/plot as well.
The princess was very naive throughou the end, but i did like how she had some self respect and really hated xia jingshi
THE EMPEROR AND PRINCESSS CHEMISTRY WHAT. The actor kept me hooked.
See, i actually was not expecting it but i think them two ; broken souls could really help eachother but yes the emperor was not a very good character either so I dont oppose the ending..
The ML's battalion was great as well, wholesome characters especially lu ke.
AND the three siblings, their bond was really great, the empress's son was the most logical and clear headed character, which is kinda rare. loved him also how he changed his persona on becoming the emperor. wow.
The murong family and zhang both fell, the whole of jinxu fell...suited ending but what makes it better is that we knew why the characters did what they did and I could actually feel them. how the morong dad approached the emperor with sticks on his back, that actually make me cry only to find out he'd betray lol.

The ending was a bit fast, they wrapped it up too quick....it would've been better if they showed what happened in jinxu and susha visually instead of just narrating. I also wanted to see them get married but alright. Great drama, loved ever second of it.

Fated to Love You after all that Trauma. Love and Understanding Heals.

I dived into this drama upon seeing the many positive reviews. I watched “Hidden Love” before and I didn’t think highly of this actor. I watched the FL in “The Wolf” and felt that she was okay. In I dived into this drama and gosh, I’m glad I did.

What I Liked:
- The beginning was super exciting. I like it a lot when we get to dive right into the action instead of having long build-ups. There was so much going on right from the start. I loved their “fatal attraction” to each other. All that fighting and S&M was both funny in a way and weirdly hot.
- The plot was interesting, fast-paced, suspenseful and entertaining. In general, I looked forward to watching what would happen next.
- The cast was great in general. The FL was super easy on the eyes and the ML fully redeemed himself from his role in “Hidden “Love IMO. :) They had good chemistry and appeared to be a beautiful couple who was well-matched in terms of fighting skills and ambition.
- It also turned out that the Emperor of Jinxiu wasn’t such an ass after all. One of the stand-out scenes of this drama was episode 38 where he was being killed by Xia Jingshi but refused to bow down. However, when his love, Feng Xiyang, was being cornered by Xia Jingshi, he went down on his knees immediately to beg for her life. The look of devastation on his countenance when she was stabbed was so moving. My heart ached to see his deeply anguished look upon seeing his lady love and unborn child being killed. Stellar acting there. So moving, so memorable.

What I Didn’t Like So Much:
- Crazy emperor, Feng Ping Cheng, and all the other crazies like Empress Zhuang, Murong father and son and so on. So warped.
- I hated Xia Jingshi with his nonsensical logic and Xiao Weiran for blindly following him. Get a grip, dude. Be ethical and have a mind and backbone of your own like Ning Fei.
- So much bloodshed. :( Too much for my liking.

Overall, this is a very interesting drama. It definitely deserves a high rating for its great cast and plot. Kudos! I like it very much indeed.

Great Story and Acting

This series has a great story that just kept getting better with each episode. To be honest, the first episode didn't grab me, but by the middle of the second, I was hooked. All of the actors did a great job portraying their characters and making them believable. There were a number of key characters, and their backstories were slowly revealed to help the viewer understand why they made the choices they did. Rather than it being a story about villains getting their just desserts, it was a story about well-intentioned people making choices or becoming obsessed with something that led them down the dark path.

A story that does not shy away from the reality of life.

IMO this drama is perfect in every aspect. I gave it 10/10 for the amazing actors and chemistry. Gorgeous and detailed costume and beautiful set. Story line is very good and not a moment boring, fast phased and every episode filled with engaging scene and events. The story line never stuck with one villain from beginning till the end which always gets tiring and annoying. But story progressed beautiful in every stage and plot.
I find myself very difficult to stop and go back to my reality. let's not forget the heart capturing OST. I cried, bawled, and smitten and heart warmed.
And of course, the martial art, was amazing and beautifully choreographed. What impressed me the most was Li Qin's agility and badass yet graceful movement. you can just tell if the actor is actually have the stance of martial art by their swinging of weapon and movement, without much help if camera tricks to cover the flaws. I love women with martial art!
Thank you Fated Hearts for the gift of a beautiful drama, very attractive cast, especially main leads, and very good production. I am already a huge fan of the beautiful Li Qin, and I found my new love for Chen Zhe Yuan. They both embodied their roles perfectly and you can't help but just fell in love with them. Despite their age gap, they both looked and fit together perfectly. Chemistry between them is off the chart. Please have them together again in other dramas.

Fated Hearts: a drama that will make you feel everything. Your next obsession!

Without a doubt, it ranks as one of the best Chinese dramas of the year, a gem that leaves a deep impression on the viewer.

Impeccable Acting (10/10): The cast is simply sublime. Each actor not only embodies their character, but also gives them a depth and layers that are essential to the story. They deserve every point of that 10. The "enemies to lovers" plot is executed to perfection. The transition from visceral hatred to passionate love is believable, painful, and extremely satisfying. Every glance, every touch, and every tension-filled word is pure gold. The OST is not just an accompaniment; it is another character. The songs accentuate each scene, heightening the emotions to the limit. It adds a magical and memorable touch to the whole drama.

Complex and Human Characters: This is, perhaps, its greatest success. The characters in "Fated Hearts" are incredibly human, full of light and shade. One moment you love them for their vulnerability, the next you hate them for their selfish decisions or terrible mistakes, and then, almost without realizing it, you come to understand why they act the way they do. This moral ambiguity makes them fascinating and real.

The costumes and setting are a visual delight, adding another layer of immersion to the story.

Despite its greatness, there is one aspect that prevents it from receiving a perfect score: the ending. After such an intense and twist-filled journey, the dénouement feels a little weak and rushed. I really love this Drama.

I just came across this drama on the Black app, and I decided to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did! The story has such a good flow, and I really enjoyed how naturally everything developed. The enemies-to-lovers storyline was definitely one of my favorite parts because the tension, misunderstandings, and gradual change in their relationship made the story even more exciting.


What I also loved was how well the romance was balanced with the action. The fighting scenes were so good and beautifully done! They weren’t just there for the sake of having action, they actually added excitement and helped move the story forward. Every battle felt intense, and the characters’ abilities made the scenes even more satisfying to watch.

GOATED PLOT AND CHARACTERS

Oh my god this was a riiiiiiide. First of all feng suige,your aura is unmatched. And miss yixiao you are the queen of all queens. The Romance was done so well in terms of enemies to lovers like it was done PERFECT. The development and progress was delicious. The plot and characters were everything. There was never a dull moment every single character and storyline mattered and had an imapct on me. This had by far one of the most amazing political storyline. Certain scenes were so heart trenching it made me cry. Goat is the only way to describe this. Such deep and heavy plot.

Great chemistry, action, and plenty of surprises

I really enjoyed Fated Hearts! Li Qin and Chen Zheyuan were great as the main leads, and I loved their chemistry. I’m a total sucker for enemies-to-lovers, so their dynamic was definitely one of my favorite parts of the drama.

I also absolutely love a powerful female lead, and Li Qin’s character really delivered. It was so satisfying to watch a female lead who is strong, capable, and can actually hold her own.

The fighting scenes were another highlight. They were exciting and really well done. I also loved how unpredictable the story could be. There were quite a few moments where I genuinely didn’t know what was coming next, which kept me hooked.

I ended up binging it because I constantly wanted to know what would happen next. Great chemistry, good action, unexpected twists, and an enemies-to-lovers romance? Exactly my kind of drama!

Flawed but entertaining

There is potential in the story but somehow the interpretation, or execution, falls short. Whether it is the action parts, the romance parts or the subterfuge, the script is very stilted. The story progresses predictably. The sets feels more gaudy than grand. The setting is ancient China but the story line wouldn't be amiss for 2026. There is the usual court intrigues and maneuvering but these seem more corporate than imperial.

There is much emotional overlays but the results are just superficiality. Everyone cries but the sadness is not evident. Its more melodramatic than drama. There's love and romance scripted but there's no emotional connect. Kissing just meant a meeting of lips. There is much on brotherhood bonds but the interactions feels more like acquaintances.

In the end, it seems all about the sins of the elders being suffered by the children.

This is probably the most emotionless, passionless and stilted drama to date. The script also gets more incredulous, especially the miraculous rejuvenation. The miracles of healing is somewhat incredulous. Even by C Drama standards.

The MLs that is more plasticized than the FL. Tyrant emperor? More like plastic bully. the mothers were more tyrannical than the children. The robes also seem more revealing for males than females.

Li Qin as FYH was the most memorable act. Her graceful demeanor, lithely movements and unruffled calm carried her role better than the cry baby MLs.

There is much action and lots of twists, small and big, but overall the story line was somewhat detached and not as engaging. However there is enough to be entertained.

villain arc is what carried this drama

One of the best writings I have seen so far in 2025 that has consideration for villains - it's not lame nor cliche, but plot armor may have been done too much.

Truth to be told, the villains' story is what made this drama really good. Unlike the other "they are just bad cause they are villains, they want power." Make this one an exclusion of that, cause the villains' reasons for being bad was more than the simple reason of power - it was for the sake of family. I don't see many dramas that honestly show even, as a full, of how villains became real evil, but when 'father protecting his son' arc started, I was as shocked as Sui Ge getting arrowed by Yi Xiao.

Father Zhong, "In my life, how many battles have Yao and I fought for you and your father's kingdom? I've done far more for Susha than you ever have. In my life, I have never sought fame or power. All I wanted was to live peacefully with my children and grandchildren."
