Eternal Nanny: How To Purchase The Love Of Your Life
I know they say love is blind, but love ain’t that blind. My peoples, we need to do something about this thing call love cuz it’s making people crazy. Someone’s son is out there chopping love with a robot he purchased on a discount. No one, and I mean no one is that in love. One of my favourite bl novels ever is about this one guy who fell in love with a mushroom. So yes, I've done crazy and I love crazy, but this drama had me questioning my sanity cuz… BROTHA?Look, I know we love dramas and bls because the romantic stories makes us all warm and fuzzy inside, and it makes us wanna fall in love. Sure, it gives us unrealistic romantic expectations, even still, we watch it, because some of us want that kind of romance and love in our real life. But I’m drawing a line. Cuz literally, this boy had to tell his friends they can't reveal the secret of his boyfriend being an ai or he'd get recycled. FAM!! Then of course, they went ahead and bought a custom made ai as their child. I'm--
Yes, I’m drawing a line. I’ve done a man falling in love with a mushroom, a vampire falling in love with a human, a man falling in love with a ghost, a panther falling in love with a penguin… yes, I’ve done it all, but purchasing an expensive arse robot/android, and yes, he did get a discount, still, purchasing a piece of metal to spend the rest of your life with is where I draw the line.
Listen, I know a human falling in love with a robot shouldn't be where I drew the line. I even thought I was overreacting by drawing said line, so naturally I called my best friend without mentioning this was a drama to tell her about the plot, cuz I needed her to confirm I’m not emotionally dead for not wanting that boy to end up with a robot, like:
ME: Stop whatever the eff you’re doing. I’ve got gossip and you won’t—
FRIEND: Do you think if I quit my job and become a stay at home happy person I can survive on willpower and s—
ME: Hush your face this ain't about you. Now listen, you for no believe story wey I hear for streets! Wonders dey for this world. My sista, na this thing call love go carry matter come give person. Love make fine boy mad for head. May this level of love never locate me. Someone’s son, proper son, go chop romance, love, real relationship where me self I no get, with robot. He carry ei heart go give android ai. Na machinery where ei papa purchase for lab. Wires for head and body. Wonders shall never end! Me self, never. I never go chop love for metal. God forbid.
FRIEND: So what I’m hearing is, you’re bitter because a robot found love before you? LMAO, you’re gonna die alone.
ME: I—
Obviously, she did not get it, cuz she’s a romantic at heart. And no I’m not bitter or jealous the robot got a rich, handsome husband. Pfft. I am not jealous! I AM NOT. Cuz really, when all is said and done, Immortal IV is more of a nanny than a lover, and really, all that boy purchased was a maid, who sometimes gives him sexy times.
Let me explain. So I’m sitting my somewhere, right? minding my own business when I saw this drama on one of those upcoming list. Naturally, I added it, and it starts airing, and I’m like, is this gonna be another ARE YOU HUMAN TOO? type of relationship. You know, that one kdrama where the girl fell in love with a robot.
This drama wasn’t bad. I didn’t watch the first one Anti-Reset so I went into this blind, so when this robot, sorry ai robot, started catching feelings, kissing, promising to be there for Luo Bushi and everything, all that went through my head was: But you are a machine. You are literally programmed as his butler to be there for him. Do you have real feelings or projected ones through stimulation and data collection?
Now they’ve ended up together and I’m sitting here like… so like, would he ever rust? Is there a special oil Luo Bushi have to grease him up with every year? Imagine taking your boyfriend to the mechanic cuz he stopped working. So like Luo Bushi is gonna get super old and die and they just gonna reset Immortal IV and ship him off to someone else, right? Cuz he costed a lot of money, and I heard they already lost one robot to another human guy.
Plus that robot wasn’t even smart or like superior. When Luo Bushi was thrown out the house and dirt poor, I thought, ah stock market. Nation-wide search for computer based jobs with fast payment. Instead, this advanced ai out there talking about it’s against the law so I’m just gonna find a job moving old junk from people's garage. Dude, you’ve already broken the main one by going against your owner and running away with his son to a motel! my friend you can break more rules and make money so you don't sleep in a sex motel.
Not gonna lie, not once did I think Ever IV’s feelings were genuine/real, cuz my brain saw him and all it could compute was, robot, that boy is in love with a robot. Robots don’t have feelings. I barely understand the science behind this. A friend even explained the concept of Android ai’ and robots to me, and my head is still like, ‘Hey everyone, come look at this, that boy right there fall in love with a robot.’
Anyway, yeah, so during episode 9, that whole emotional door scene, where Luo Bushi was deep crying one scene and then looked completely fine the next, my arse was side eyeing them like. ‘My friend, my friend, let us be serious in this life! The butler is going back home, literally, all you have to do is go back with him so they’d stop hurting him, what’s with this dramatic arse scene?’ And also how is the robot hurting and dying of pain? Huh?
Was it sad and emotional, probably, but at this point in the series, I’ve wasted all the effs I can give trying to understand the science, and was just going through the motions, so really, everything was touch and go there.
Then of course, episode 11 happens and these two declare their love, and me and that father are on the same page that the son is cray cray, but the romantic part of me that’s wired to go ‘oooh awww’ in dramas with nonsense stupid romantic plot-lines is alike ‘awwwww, they’re so sweet, look at how he treats the robot like a human and they are in love. He’s gonna get old and die and he’s gonna get reset and butler someone else, but awwwwww *in love noises.*
But like, let us be serious in this life. This boy did all that all so he can end up with a machine. I don’t care how advance it is, or how well it can stimulate or upgrade its human-ness-ness, human emotions can’t be truly replicated and so no matter how in-love Immortal IV seems to be with Luo Bushi, in my head it’s what he’s been programmed to do, and so it can never be real. Sure to him it's real, but still our rich boy must know it's not, right?
And that boy’s father, yes not the best father, is suffering. Cuz not only is this boy out there worrying his father, guilting him into letting him be with this robot, he even have to watch them do lovey dovey stuff. And now the father can’t even say no, cuz then the son would be sad, so he has to send this robot out to go ask his developers if they can sell him on a discount.
HAHAHAHAHA, my peoples, we are seeing stuff in the name of love in these bls/dramas. Cuz what do you mean that rich boy fell in love with his AI and now they are gonna be together forever? Love go kill person! Love go carry matter for peoples head! Is love really that blind???
I’m still wondering what happened to that one girl who fell in love with the robot in ARE YOU HUMAN TOO? Like, how is it going for them? Is my sister still going strong with that machine or did it get a wire glitch and murdered her in her sleep? Or did it rust and she sold his part on e-bay? I need answers.
FINALE: I admit, they almost got me with their in love-ness-ness in the finale, but then Luo Bushi had that fear of IV broken, getting recalled and destroyed and I was like, huh! See, this is what I've been saying. your boyfriend could glitch any moment and explode. But, still, they were cute making their promises to each other. Both first and second leads had their happy ending, seems the second lead are gonna have a robot baby too... so, yeah, happy endings all around.
Anyway, it is what is it. The romantic part of me, is like,’ love is love man, love is love’, but the rational part is worried Immortal IV will glitch one day and forget Luo Bush completely and they’d have to program him to love our rich boy again. But, at least Luo Bushi looks happy with his purchase and their robot baby and he’s not gonna die alone, so.. yaaay love?
If you already watched the first one, give this a watch to see some old faces, to anyone new, give this a chance if you are looking for something easy to shut your mind off too, it's simple and has it's moment.

Better compared to Anti Reset
This is the second series where a human falls into love with an android (in the same "universe"). They did nothing great for the story, they still annoy us with stupid sound effects and some comedic elements would not have been necessary. But this time the pacing is better, the story is more fun and the boy is of course a tsundere which I have weak spot for :) The chemistry between the MLs was nice and the side couple was cute as well but did not have lot's of screen time.
So, I will not dissect the whole series, but I was more entertained than I expected. If you need a palette cleanser after some heavy series, this is a show to do so. Nothing great, but nothing bad either.

Please "Anti-Reset" This!
I really had high hopes for this series, especially since I enjoyed the parent story Anti-Reset. Unfortunately, this spin-off or sequel was a miss. The central plot revolves around a robot/AI falling in love with a human but here it felt poorly executed and frankly, very unconvincing. One of the major issues for me was the Ever 4's (robot character) emotional development. From the get-go, him as an AI seems to have an overwhelming amount of emotions, which felt unnatural and forced. I honestly thought the big reveal at the end would be that the "robot" was actually a human pretending to be one, and I think that would have made more sense for the storyline.
Instead, we were expected to accept that an AI is capable of such complex feelings from the start. It’s not that it is impossible, but the writing didn’t lay the groundwork for it in a convincing way.
Then there is the romance between Luo Bu Shi and Ever 4. While they had some cute and sweet moments here and there especially in the finale , their relationship felt shallow. The writers had a solid opportunity to dive into Luo Bu Shi's emotional burden and explore the complexities of an AI-human relationship, but instead, it was only briefly touched before shifting focus to the physical intimacy. This made the romance feel forced and underdeveloped. Their emotional connection never felt real enough to support the idea of an AI and human truly being in love. It felt more of a surface-level attraction than a deep, meaningful relationship.
The second couple didn’t do much to redeem the series either. Their chemistry was lackluster and the lack of emotional depth in their interactions made it hard to care about their relationship. I didn’t feel invested in them as a couple.
Visually, the drama looked like it had a decent budget but when it came to the sci-fi aspect, it totally fell flat. It felt cheap, almost like it was trying to cash in on a futuristic aesthetic without fully committing to it.
Overall, this was pretty disappointing. It wasn’t the worst thing I have watched but it definitely didn’t live up to expectations I had and if compared to Anti-reset, this was just dim !

Promising but disappointing
The BL Shia community had a lot of hope for Eternal Butler, praising its premise and initial episodes. We also enjoyed the ending of the final episode. The rest of it, however, we found dragging and disappointing, with particular criticism towards the script. Our server poll resulted in an overal average score of 6/10.This is an aggregate review from the BL Shia community. Want to know more and have your voice be heard? Join us on Discord

I had high hopes from this drama but it disappointed me.
This is one of the series for which after watching so many reel edits of it I couldn't wait to watch it. But it really disappointed me. When I got to know the main lead is an AI Robot I was really excited to watch a robot gradually growing confusing feelings for his human master. But I'm sad to say that there's nothing like that, I mean in one episode the robot is shown with no feelings and robot-like then suddenly in the next episode robot’s feelings drastically changed. I was expecting the slow process of feelings but nope. Suddenly the robot was all flirty and loving and jealous. Honestly I think it would have made more sense if Ever 4 would be a human Buttler because I can not see any use of him being a Robot. Was this review helpful to you?

An Endearing Watch Indeed!
In a world where AI is seamlessly integrating into daily life, Eternal Butler presents a familiar yet heartwarming take on the concept of artificial intelligence and human connection. While it doesn’t redefine the genre, it delivers a touching, quietly compelling love story centered on the idea of dependability—a theme that resonates deeply throughout its conclusion.Starring Kevin Chang as Ever 4 and Eden Chen as Luo Bu Shi, the series follows the reluctant pairing of an AI butler and a spoiled yet deeply lonely heir. What begins as a tale of forced cohabitation gradually unfolds into something richer: a story of trust, growth, and the unexpected ways love can take root. Ever 4, once a passionate advocate for robot rights, finds himself navigating emotions beyond his programming, while Luo Bu Shi matures through their bond, learning to love and be loved in return.

a story about a robot and a human falling in love?!?!?!?
Yes this story checked all the boxes for me it was very unique in the storyline I haven't really watched a series where the person falls in love with a robot the only thing I can think of thats kinda close is my holo love I think its called. But I mean this series was amazing all the acting and the character we're good definitely would re-watch.Was this review helpful to you?

It was a journey towards happy ending.
Definately watch if you need some light bl. I really liked this series so much guys. It's a nice series. It does end up at the lighter side of bl and not some overly complex plot but it's fun. If you are on some bl hiatus and want to watch some good bl after a long period of time and hope it comes out good. This definitely is a recommendation. This was my first human - robot genre and I felt so fresh after watching it. It didn't had all that dumped and trashed thing. . I really liked it. And the ending did made me a little emotional. But overall it's a good series and should watch it.Was this review helpful to you?
Shallow & Dull
This is basically a rehash of Anti-Reset except the human is the uke.The beginning of this felt like it was adapted from erotica, because if the robot takes of his glasses, he goes into Dom mode, but they only did it once for 20 seconds. Then because the series was a chaste as an afternoon special aimed at 12-year olds, they had to pad the rest of the series, so we essentially watch a series about a robot doing maid stuff for a brat.
There's really no point to this series. I don't understand why you would make not one, but two series about AI/human love without it being more than superficially relevant to the story. There was so much to explore within the framework of the concept and yet none of it was. For example:
- Is Ever 9 conscious and sentient? How do you define those terms? Humans are also machines, with our DNA as the blueprint, and our thoughts are electrical impulses in neurons that set off chemical signals to other neurons. We have "basic programming" in the DNA, and then we learn everything else through communicatinon and experience (our version of "machine learining").
- If he is sentient, and it's clear enough that he is to at least create an issue worthy of debate and resolution, does he have rights? Can you install a device in him that sends him painful shocks to ensure obedience? If you need such a device in the first place, then doesn't that implicitly concede that he has free will?'
- If Ever 9 earns money, is it his, or does it belong to his "owner"? If he's creating anything of economic value (including services) and is not compensated, isn't that slavery?
- Why does Ever 9 have a Dom mode and what does it mean that he uses it? Are the glasses essentially a restraint that keeps him from its true personality? In which case, is it his choice when to take his glasses on or off, e.g. put them on to go to work or for social events, then take them off at home to spank Luo Bu Shi?
- What does all this mean in the Eastern spiritual framework? They at least touched on that briefly, but not as an exploration so much as a declaration.
- Does Ever 9 have to poop if he eats? (OK, that one might not be an issue worthy of exploration, but admit it: you were wondering.)
It could have even been a metophor for the LGBT experience - can you marry a robot? Adopt children with one?
But nope, it's about static characters with no real arcs. You could say that Luo Bu Shi had an arc, but does he? He eventually confronts his father, but what he says is so out of character in content and style that it comes off as unearned.
I will say that the actors are very attractive, and do a fine enough job, but overall, if I could go back in time, I wouldn't watch this, except maybe the dom scene.

A wonderful love
This series was amazing. The story was unique and interesting and I felt the story many times.
The actors made everything even better - they were talented and made me feel like this series was real..
At some points I even was like "I want an AI Roboter like he has too" because their love felt so pure.
I'm glad I watched this series (I had a break in between watching but I continued watching) and hope more people will enjoy it like I did.
Also I liked the song at the beginning and ending of every episode!
All in al I think I would want to rewatch it because it was sweet and entertaining.:)

Immortal Robot love
I must say I did not realize that this series was related to the other one that came out last year "Anti-Reset". I love the whole "each robot gets its own story and has different personalities and functions" thing. This series was fun and definitely worth the watch.
The impression I get is that we won't get anymore series like this because the whole premiss is that the bots aren't supposed to have this 'issue' of falling in love with humans. But next, I need Immortal 2, the secretary, and Immortal 7, he was so cute and we love a good ally. Looking forward to mopremise is that the bots aren't supposed to have this 'issue' of falling in love with humans. But next, I need Immortal 2, the secretary, and Immortal 7. He was so cute, and we love a good ally. I'm lookingre from this writer and company.
