Good comedy
I was so lucky this movie came out in theaters while I was on vacation in Thailand! I had a great time. The story is funny, the actors perform well, and the scenes are well-paced. The plot isn’t too complicated, and there are nice messages of tolerance throughout, which is a plus.
I recommend it!

He came... he haunted and he healed!
I genuinely thought this was going to be another campy adaptation but I am pleasantly surprised by the good execution.Menn is a grumpy ex-thief turned undercover informant, who somehow ends up getting married to Titi, who is dramatic, clingy and very much dead. They embark on a journey of 'who killed Titi' and what could have been a paranormal disaster somehow morphed into this weirdly wholesome and emotional movie.
Their character dynamics felt very genuine. The evolving connection was handled with emotional depth, wit and a certain level of chaotic charm. It was a little cliche and slapstick at times but it never mocked or reduced their individual journeys. The humor never came from character's pain points. Their partnership is what drive the movie for me.
The movie juggles with too many threads at one time, from action (police investigating drug lord) to relationships to grief and finally some self-discovery. While it does justice to almost all the sub plots, it did feel a little chaotic at times. The pacing also suffered especially during the last closing scene between Menn ,Titi and his dad. It definitely had emotions, but it didn’t hit as hard as it could have. It felt like it was almost there, just needed a bit more weight. That scene had a better impact on me in the OG version. ( When I say better, it means I full on cried)
Comedy was hit and miss for me, but mostly hit. Action scenes were less but was decently done. Since I already saw the OG version, I knew what twists were coming, the reduced the shock value of key moments.
The cast delivers solid performances, especially the leads. They breathe life (and afterlife xD) into the characters that could have easily fallen into caricature territory. It's been a while since I saw Billkin and PP Krit on screen and honestly I missed them. Even though romance wasn't a focus here, but they had very comfortable and visible chemistry.
Overall, this was fun, chaotic and far more thoughtful than it looks on paper. The humor is loud but it sneaks up on you. It is not perfect by any means but a good one time watch!
I would definitely recommend it!
Side note : I wanted to title the review as 'Boo-hemian Rhapsody' but decided otherwise! 😂

PLEASE SUPPORT WHEN YOU CAN!
I was so lucky to be able to see this film in cinemas. I watched Marry My Dead Body right before this film so I had a good foundation. This remake gave a good Thai spin but I felt like it copied too much from the OG. I also wish think Titi’s boyfriend should not have been straight in this. Aside from that I feel like BKPP did great in this queer film and gave it new life and in some ways made it more queer. The entire OST was also amazing and I loved seeing so many Thai references. A MUST WATCH!Was this review helpful to you?
The Red Envelope – Hilarious, Heartfelt & A Ghostly Gay Wedding to Remember!
Just finished The Red Envelope and I had an absolute blast! 😂💀 Over 2 hours of nonstop laughter, chaotic moments, and surprisingly emotional scenes — I loved every minute.Yes, this Thai version is 99% similar to the original Taiwanese film Marry My Dead Body, but let me be honest — it’s funnier. The comedic timing was on point, the jokes hit harder, and I laughed so much my face hurt!
Seeing Billkin and Kris together again was such a treat. I missed them so much since I Told Sunset About You and I Promised You the Moon. Their chemistry here is completely different, but just as entertaining. Kris is stunning — seriously, the camera loves him 😍 — and both actors absolutely nailed their roles with charm and humor.
💥 My favorite scene? 100% the dinner table scene where Meen unlocks Titi’s phone and that gay porn sound starts blasting. His fake “spicy food” acting to cover it up had me crying with laughter. Comedy gold! 🔥🍽️📱
💒 What I really loved about the Thai version was that we got both a traditional ghost wedding and a Western-style wedding ceremony. It was such a beautiful and meaningful touch — and honestly, Billkin and Kris deserve this. They gave us everything and more. 🥰👬💍
Whether you watch the Thai or the original Taiwanese version, I highly recommend either — or both! They each bring something unique. But if you're in the mood for pure fun and laugh-out-loud moments, this Thai remake absolutely delivers. 🎉🇹🇭👨❤️👨

The people yearn for another BKPP BL
Do BK and PP explode if they don't act in a sad or melodramatic series??? Why is that every series or movie that they are in gotta make me cry in the end. I liked this adaptation. It is more comedic than the orginal work which to be expected from Thailand. They also changed some scenes from the orginal although not that significant,I was still looking forward to those but still most of the iconic and funny part they included it. Most people lose their singers to acting but I lost my actors to singing. They are good in both careers but man I miss BK and PP on screen. Especially PP, save Thai cinema PP the people need you. I will be wishing upon every star for a BKPP series soon cuz PLEASE THE PEOPLE NEED IT. SAVE THAI BL INDUSTRY. I AM BEGGING YOU.Was this review helpful to you?

Strong Comedy, Weak Emotional Impact
I went into this not knowing anything about the original work, and this was my first encounter with the story — but I have to say, it left me with mixed feelings.Let’s get this out of the way: Is this really a BL? Personally, I don’t think so. Yes, there’s emotional growth between the two leads, but it never fully leans into romance. It felt more like a deep platonic bond or bromance than an actual love story. If you’re going in expecting heart-fluttering romantic development, you might leave a little underwhelmed.
That said — the production is high level. It looks great, feels well-crafted, and the performances? Top-notch. The leads did an incredible job with their characters, especially in balancing the supernatural elements with real human emotions.
Now onto the best part — the comedy. It was absolutely hilarious. The humor felt natural and never forced, and I found myself laughing out loud more than I expected. Honestly, the comedy stole the show for me, almost too much — because when it came to the emotional scenes, I couldn’t fully connect. The grief and sadness were there, but they didn’t hit as hard as they could’ve, maybe because the comedic tone was so strong throughout.
The story, at its core, felt more about fulfilling a dead boy’s final wish and reincarnating him than anything romantic. I appreciated the realistic ending — no magic fix, no miraculous revival. The dead stayed dead. And there’s something quietly powerful about that choice.
So overall? This is a funny, touching supernatural bromance with high production value, but it might not deliver the emotional or romantic depth some BL fans are hoping for. Still worth watching for the laughs and the fresh story, just don’t expect it to break your heart.

A rare occurrence : an adaptation that I enjoyed more than the original Taiwanese movie
I was really curious to see the Thai version of this story featuring a supernatural mariage between a gay ghost and a straight guy who wants to become a police officer. The original story was fun but not without flaws and I appreciated Thailand version more. It is adapted well to fit the local culture, balancing some very slap stick humor and over the top moments, with very actual queer questioning in a world that is progressing on acceptance on the topic but not fully free and liberated yet.The strongest point of the movie is the actors performances, especially Billkin. Full disclosure, I'm a big fan and once again, he did not disappoint. His acting is the heart of the movie. He is very versatile, has a great sense of comedy and can deliver angst like no-one. He has iconic scenes in this movie : really fun ones that I will remember for a long time as well as more touching scenes that he nailed. He managed to outshine everyone, even PP Krit, which is not an easy fit. PP still did a commendable job with the extrencity and likebility of his role. Their characters bonding through the film were the best part of it all.
Production was quite good and colourful. I particularly enjoyed the scenes at the club as well as the "Fire Boy" reference. Those were simply unforgettable (contrary to the soundtrack which was alright but is already fading away from my memory).
I would recommend this to people that are looking for a Thai action comedy with a lot of heart and fun. The friendship that the two main characters built together is great to follow. If you like Billkin and/or PP Krit, it is definitely a must watch. If you enjoyed the original movie, you should definitely give it a shot as it is a real adaptation, improving on the source material and embedding it in Thai culture, rather than just being a basic copy.

PP and billkin have done it again!
I dont typically leave many reviews but after the subs for this movie came out I was super excited to watch! I was 100% impressed with the acting, story, and production (not to mention the OST's are great!) bilikin and pp have sooo much chem already and even though this is technically not a BL they still managed to woo me over. I think I enjoyed this version more than the original but anyone who watches this should also watch the original as well! Was this review helpful to you?

Adorable, almost as much as the original movie.
I didn’t watch this film so much for the story, but mainly for the two lead actors: very young, yet already capable of standing out with truly remarkable past projects. Seeing them together again was a pleasure, even though this time — unlike before — I didn’t feel the need to take their love story too seriously. In fact, the romantic side stays mostly in the background: it’s relevant to the plot, of course, but only up to a point. It’s not the beating heart of the film, and that’s perfectly fine. Overall, I don’t consider it on par with their previous performances, but it’s still an enjoyable and emotional watch. I laughed a lot, even more than with the original version — and that’s a rare thing. The ending, however, felt a bit restrained to me: it lacked that emotional peak that could have given the story more strength.
That said, I’m not a fan of constant comparisons, and I honestly think this is a successful film. If you’re looking for something light, funny, and capable of making you laugh while still offering a touch of emotion, this is definitely a great choice.

Unwrap the Laughs
This Thai remake of Marry Your Dead Body definitely lives up to the original. While there are a few changes in the remake, it stays true to the essence of the story. Whether you watch this version or the Taiwanese one, you’ll find yourself laughing at both.My favorite scene has to be when the main character gets possessed by his ghost husband. He ends up running naked through the streets and performing a full-on music video while pole dancing. That part was by far the best.

Here's what I think (i loved it)
I really liked the movie. What I appreciated the most is that they treated it as an adaptation rather than a remake, perfectly preserving the original storyline.I especially enjoyed how it was adapted to Thai culture, particularly through the use of comedy, which is a distinctive element of Thai entertainment. It felt stronger here than in the original Taiwanese version, but it still remained coherent within the story. It lightened the overall tone (don’t be mistaken, it is not mainly a comedy movie) while reflecting Thai culture beautifully. Menn is a bit goofy, and the film as a whole balances humor and cultural depth really well.
The choice to replace the original Taiwanese KTV Club with a Boxing Club is another cultural statement. It shows how deeply this version is rooted in local culture. This movie was clearly made first and foremost for the Thai audience, and only secondarily for international viewers, something also reflected in the guerrilla marketing campaign held in Bangkok.
The way the film tackles issues of identity, sexuality, and the concept of ladyboys (themes deeply felt and lived in Thailand) was, in my opinion, magnificent. From Titi’s character, with his construction and PP’s performance, to his ex-boyfriend, his father, certain moments of Menn’s journey, and several side characters, these topics were explored from multiple perspectives. The result is a portrayal that gives the audience a more complete and less stereotypical understanding of how these issues are perceived in Thailand. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, alongside acceptance, diversity, and freedom there’s also hate, intolerance, and prejudice. Facing those things isn’t easy. Sometimes you just put on a mask of indifference and keep going, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay.
I’m used to seeing BK and PP in other kinds of works or in concerts, but I truly appreciated the director’s vision here. I could sense the male gaze (the director is a man), and there were only two specific frames I didn’t fully enjoy because, to me, they disrupted that sense of “realism”, the immersion that the storytelling builds. Still, I understand how they tie back to Thai culture.
The color palette is stunning, meticulously planned and, together with the styling, it creates a whole universe of its own. I laughed a lot at the shirt-changing scenes, especially at the beginning when one of the shirts had “Brescia” written on it, cause as an Italian that was unexpected and very amusing. I watched the movie together with my best friend and I sort of glitched for a moment as I said “wait a minute… Amo, does that shirt say Brescia or am I seeing things?” and we had a good laugh.
The locations are also remarkable, combining the essence of Thai culture with subtle Chinese influences in a seamless way.
The only moments that felt noticeably different to me, probably due to my emotional attachment to the original scene, were some small details in the final hospital scene, where Menn talks with his father, and of course, the change from the KTV Club to the Boxing Club we mentioned earlier.
I really appreciated the post-credit wedding scene as it gives you hope for another life. A little bit of sugar for the viewer, although I can’t say if it was related to the whole fancon/marketing or to the movie itself. The bittersweet feeling at the end still lingers, but if you already knew the story, you probably expected it. Before the film’s release, there were talks about the possibility of a different ending, which brings me back to my earlier point about adaptation VS remake. I truly appreciate the fact we weren’t given a happy ending just because.
I also love how Chinese culture keeps showing up in their works, it being related to the fact that both of them are of Chinese descent and part of the Chinese-thai community in Thailand. I appreciate its constant presence, kind of like an Easter egg for fans. For those who follow the actors, like I do, it creates a deeper bond not just with the characters, but with the actors themselves.
I've seen people debating about the whole 'unrealistic' aspect of ghost-weddings, but it might just be because it's not a storytelling too common outside of asian culture. You should always try to watch something whit a perspective related to the culture it comes from.
