Don't waste your time on a shallow drama
I've waited this drama for almost a year because I am fan of Kim Hye Yoon's acting. But alas this one drama that I hope will disappear from her filmography. The storyline is shallow and there is no sense to the so called love story in the drama. I can't understand how is it possible for a fox that doesn’t trust human to fall in love amd deeply love with a character that totally lacks charisma and is 900 years younger than her. Seriously this drama must be targeted at teenagers.
I think the production team really did a bad job with this drama and its method of storytelling.
If you have plenty of time and love the actress, you can watch it for her acting only.

A CASUAL WATCH BUT DON'T EXPECT TOO MUCH..
My main reason for picking up this drama was the actor and the actress, I love them and was excited to see them together in this drama. The ML from "All of us are dead" really had my heart and this was my second drama of him. We are back to nine-tailed fox and the modern Korea through this crazy drama.A one-time watch for the ML and the FL, but the story didn't stick that great! (personally for me)
It began strongly, the acting was superb, and with so many twists and turns at the start. Like the beginning episodes, never gave me a moment to breathe and it was just like watching on an edge. The characters are well-developed, it many be confusing at start to understand the plot and their real sides, but soon I got hold of it.
You will get to see the love bloom b/w the ML and the FL only after halfway of the drama. FL not wanting to be a human or falling in love, and ML being so full of himself and just wanting to switch back the fate, was a strong plot. It shows the real side of friendships, struggles, relationships and career. I found it a perfect mix of action and humour.
There were strong emotions, though at times I found it hard to decode true feelings of the characters or where the honesty lies, but gradually the drama and the story builds on. It may get boring sometimes, especially in the middle, but the ending again picks up.
I honestly didn't like the antagonist or the side plot going on, and some scenes were repetitive as in many fantasy K-dramas show this, like the FL coming back after her vanishing and the ML not forgetting anything about her. At times, it may get cliche but their acting was superb and the overall plot was okayish. It was not that melodramatic or successful in arousing those deep emotions, it is not something that will directly touch the viewers' hearts.
The pace drops in between and some scenes felt unnecessary. Or the bond that audience shares with characters was not given much chance to develop and the drama appeared to flew by like a breeze. It was a good timepass, the plot was decent, the acting carried it, but not that memorable or having a rewatch value.

Charming Fantasy Rom-Com with Fun Moments but Uneven Execution
okay so I love both of them. lovely runner and all of us are dead leads. My rating:
Story: 6/10 – Fun concept with a modern gumiho twist, but uneven pacing and a rushed ending.
Acting: 6.5/10 – Some charm from the leads, but chemistry and emotional depth are inconsistent.
Music: 7/10 – Pleasant OST that fits the fantasy-romance vibe.
Rewatch value: 5.5/10 – Cute moments exist, but plot holes and uneven storytelling make it less rewatchable.
Overall: 7.5/10 – Entertaining for casual fantasy-rom-com fans, but not standout or highly memorable.

Time I will never get back
and I even fast forwarded...a lot!I have loved KHY in other things I've seen her in, but I didn't find her suited to this part. Her voice, her pouting, her arms crossed, it was all just wrong. You know how some people can portray a character in such a way that even if they are unlikeable, you end up rooting for them? That was not the case here. I didn't like her at the beginning, and I liked her even less at the end. I hate to say it, but KHY may be typecast as the friendly, bubbly FL.
Lomon was okay, but he could have played a bit part and my feeling for him would be the same. Nothing stuck out about him here.
Personally, I thought the script was very lackluster. None of the actors seemed fully invested in their characters, I felt like they were just going through the motions. It meandered all over the place, never arriving at something that made sense. I didn't feel any chemistry between the leads, but that wasn't helped by the script. She was hateful, then suddenly they were dating because she decided that was what they were going to do, and she was still her hateful self. Definite lack of character growth.
And PLEASE! A 10-year time skip, one of which she was around him but didn't tell him?!?! One opportunity I think that was really missed, when the other gumiho spilled about all that she had done for him, when he thought it was the FL - it would have made more sense for him to discover that the FL was actually human and not still a gumiho. Or maybe that's what actually happened, but I missed it, because I was counting the minutes until I could be done with this drama.

If you like drama like Goblin and that type this is for you.
This drama was really good in some parts and some parts were not interesting to me. At the beginning, Eun ho really annoyed me with her behavior, but somehow as I continued watching I started to like her and somehow she became a different person in some parts of the episodes, but at the same time she was the same as at the beginning. The last two episodes were so stressful for me because I didn't know what was going to happen and simply in that thriller for the last episode when I saw Kang Si-yeol's grave I was already scared of the end. But honestly, I liked the end and it somehow reminds me of some series that had a similar context to this series. Was this review helpful to you?
Don't judge a book by its cover
If you're fan of supernatural and fantasy you should give this kdrama a chance you might end up liking this one don't look at the ratings or the hate comments, will continue watching I hope this ends well,so glad for Kim hye yoon and lomon love them both 💯❤️❤️❤️been a fan since extraordinary youEdit: tldr, the best part of it was a none SML syndrome and the female lead didn't changed herself, this kdrama actually taught me a lot of things and one of them is loving someone doesn't mean you have to change for them it's about loving the person for who she/he his this kdrama might not be the best of year but it was a great watch
Kim hye yoon and lomon chemistry was there
Even though the story wasn't that great but they will pull you through it
Once again I'm recommending this drama to those people who loves light romance with no SML syndrome and with visible chemistry between the casts
You can only enjoy a good drama if you have a good mindset 🤗

Hyeyoon delivers a masterclass in sassy gumiho energy, Lomon’s narcissistic soccer star persona
If you’re looking for a K-drama that flips every supernatural trope on its head, No Tail to Tell(also known as Today I am Human) is the high-stakes fantasy you can’t afford to miss. Breaking away from her usual "heroic" roles, the phenomenal Kim Hye-yoon shines as Eun-ho, a deliciously cynical, "MZ-generation" Gumiho who would rather hoard wealth and binge-watch TV than do a single good deed to become human. Her chaotic immortality is hilariously derailed when she collides with Lomon ,playing a world-class, narcissistic soccer star whose disciplined life is thrown into total disarray by her magical mishaps. With a "enemies-to-salvation" dynamic that crackles with electric chemistry, the show masterfully blends sharp banter with a deeper, heart-tugging exploration of what it actually means to be human in a modern world. It is a visually stunning, fast-paced ride that proves why these two are the industry’s most exciting leads—once you start the first episode, the mystery of Eun-ho’s missing tail will have you hooked until the very end.Was this review helpful to you?

Painfully Average
I think this drama perfectly represents the current problem with mythical creature romance kdramas: the genre has become too familiar to feel exciting anymore. That is not entirely this show’s fault. I genuinely love mythical creature romances, which is probably why I still enjoyed parts of it despite all my criticisms. But after so many fox-spirit, immortal, and fate-bound love stories, newer dramas struggle to bring anything fresh to the table. Earlier dramas in this genre felt magical because the concepts still felt novel. Now it often feels like we are watching recycled versions of the same story. There are enjoyable moments here and there, but overall, nothing about this drama feels particularly unique.
I think fantasy romances could use a bit of a breather. I’d love to see more focus on world-building, lore, and supernatural drama instead, something closer to Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938, where the mythology and storytelling actually take centre stage.
The biggest issue with No Tail to Tell is the romance itself. The leads work fine individually, but together they have almost no chemistry. Their dynamic felt more sibling-like than romantic, and the script gives them very little material to build believable emotional tension. Visually they look like a pairing that should work, but on screen there is just nothing there. It feels like dramas nowadays cast actors who look good together rather than actors who actually fit together.
Kim Hye Yoon once again carries most of the emotional weight of the drama. At this point, she seems cursed to do all the heavy lifting while the male leads coast on visuals alone.
The writing also frustrated me, particularly with how heavily the female lead’s growth revolved around the male lead. The “he made her a better person” trope feels outdated. That is why I was disappointed with how the drama handled the sister relationship. It would have been far more interesting if the relationship that once contributed to her moral decline became the thing that guided her healing and redemption in the present. There was real potential to explore guilt, forgiveness, and emotional recovery through platonic love instead of centring everything around romance again.
The pacing did not help either. The first half dragged badly with too many filler scenes, then the story finally became interesting around episode 8 only to rush through major developments near the end.
Overall, this is still a decent watch if you already enjoy mythical creature romances because the genre itself remains entertaining enough to carry weaker stories. I was never completely bored, but it is ultimately a very forgettable drama in a genre that should feel far more captivating than this.

Goodbye Myth, Hello Romance
After episode 6, the series makes its choice clear. The mythological conflict fades into the background, and the story fully embraces a familiar romantic formula.
The gumiho lore becomes decoration rather than narrative weight, and the tension is replaced by predictable emotional beats.
Once the romance takes control, the outcome feels telegraphed.
Not bad. Just safe.
And ultimately, generic.

JUDGE FAIRLY!!!
I just wanted to say that this actress has a LOT of fans which is great. But she's got a bunch of those diehard "speak no evil" fanatics who are the types to hunt ppl down and chastise across the web. Y'all know what I'm saying lol. All I want to see and hear as we dive into this are fair, non bias breakdowns and remarks that aren't do to what she's done in the past. At least that's what I'm asking for! Let's see what the leads and the story give us!! :)And no, these are not my ratings yet, I just plugged the #'s randomly.
Final Edit
Kind of at a loss for words. This actress has a unique style you will either love or hate. Comments are either favorable or deplorable. Her 'charm' or talent or w/e you want to call it is the ability to spit a 100 words per min like a machine gun. It's her norm. Efforts to slow it down kind of make it look like she's grasping for the correct words to speak, unsure of what to say w/o deliberateness being apparent. Her style has never changed while moving forward on different dramas. I think this is good for comedic roles but poor for roles requiring romance and sincerity. She had a historical role a few years ago I thought was perfect and I liked her in it~
But THIS pair did not work. There was not one shred of chem from start to finish. Watching the leads bicker was very amusing at first. But it quickly became tiresome when it became apparent that there was no spark whatsoever. Every episode seems to degenerate into huh? What? And? And the HEEEEEY!!?!! being said by FL 10x over the course of the episode as Lomons character walked and talked circles around her constantly putting her in her place. The story wasn't compelling. I never had that 'omg I can't wait until the next episode' feeling that you get when you're wanting more~
This wasn't a bad drama and idk exactly why it didn't work. I just know that it didn't. It won't be remembered for anything other than failing to stand up to its predecessors. I wonder if it's because the 9 tails in the two most talked about dramas were males? This doesn't have to be rushed to be taken in. Do it at leisure. It will burn a few hrs at least. But don't expect anything that's on par with the normal solid traditionally sound stories Kdramas are known for~

Strong opening, weak turn
The first episodes started surprisingly strong and were very interesting especially episode 3. Up to episode 4 the series feels exciting and very mysterious. At episode 5 the whole excitement about the story collapses. From episode 5 onward the story completely shifts it’s focus to romance. The plot feels less engaging and makes the story of the fate swap fall into the background. I hope the next episodes will focus more on the fate swap because of this shift (my opinion) the drama loses much of what made it stand out at the beginning. If the focus does not return to the fate swap the series risks wasting its most interesting concept. Was this review helpful to you?

Started as a pretty good fun drama - but no character growth whatsoever for FL
This started as a fun drama, explores some deep issues and questions about The Will of God versus our own will, our karma, our karmic duties, and what happens when we do not cooperate with the Divine ....The main issue is that FL is 100% immature and coldly selfish, cold closed heart, and she STAYS like that until the very end. A total waste of drama...
It could have been a 10 star drama bc the actors are great and just were not utilized properly.
The ML and FL are not shown liking each other. Either the actors just didnt feel it, and/or the director didnt force them to act it... but .. it is already Feb 18, I think ep 8 finished? and there is only 12 episodes and we havent seen enough of the romance or friendship ....
Sure they start as total strangers, then she tortures him and ruins his life and of course he is not gonna like her, however, that part of that drama DRAGS TOO LONG. She tortured him bc she was intrigued by him and kinda "owned him" and explored him and found reasons to keep appearing to him. But the drama doesnt explore that. It seems like she is just a mean person. But the fact is, she likes him and wants to make sure he noticed her - and she is using wrong methods for that. Sure, she is not aware of her feelings yet - but we the audience arent either!!!! bc the drama showed it, in a few seconds here and there. It was not enough to create tension and to convince the audience there is something romantic going on. We saw her being confused bc her hear flutters but the drama never explored that...
Lomon is really good at acting romantic scenes. ANd FL is also cute when she tries to flirt with him. That should have happened a LOT sooner.
First it should have been accidental blopers - since she liked him first and tortured him to get his attention, there should have been a LOT more "accidental" hitting on him too - WE HAD TO SEE THAT SHE WAS SOMEHOW SATISFIED THAT SHE HAD A REASON TO KEEP HANGING AROUND HIM "TO SHOW HIM" WHAT SHE CAN DO - and then it should have increased to the point where they became cognizant of their attraction, by the middle of the drama (ep 6) they should have been kinda together already
It was just too slow of a burn, and also while they didnt like each other, it was too harsh. She kinda hit on him and suggested dating, but it was so ... scientiically cold... and he just ... didnt feel anything bc she was so harsh, her tinny screaming nagging criticizing voice was irritating even to me... LOL LOL LOL
So perhaps, if they started being more friendly earlier, that would have saved the drama. This way, they are kinda jumping from enemies to lovers kinda overnight. So I think a little less of episodes on how she was misbehaving - we got it!!!!! omg we got it!!!! she was just obnoxious!!!! gnarling fox, so unplesant!!!! and he so cold and hurt.... SO LESS OF THAT - and more episodes about the two of them... I am not a script writer so I cannot say anything official, these are just some ideas.
The ending was terrible as FL just regressed back to how she was at the beginning... Ouch... !!!
So overall, if the plot/acting was a tad bit softer and their FRIENDLY INTERACTION and then naturally evolving into romance started earlier, it would have been a much better drama.
But - each couple is different, some jump from enemies to lovers into romance fast. If the script writer wanted to portray that, then I am not sure what kind of tricks they could use to squish the number of episodes while they are enemies, and/or to show more "cracks" in how they are officially not on the same page but are feeling attraction.
Their attraction happens just too fast and sudden and unnatural, and TOO LATE in the drama
That is a sad loss of talent, bc both actors CAN act very well.
And the drama would be worthwhile if FL changed and opened her heart by the end. SHE NEVER DID.
We the audience really do not care to spend the entire drama watching two people quarreling and bickering and learning all there is to know about their character faults and personal issues... That can be shown quite well with a few selected scenes... . We want to see THE PROCESS OF TRANSFORMATION and we want to see THE RESULTS of that process.
So the old kdrama format - 1/4 for context and issues, 1/4 for starting romance, 1/4 for overcoming challenges to being together, 1/4 about putting it all together - did I get this right? I think this is usually the recipe. Sometimes it is pushed bc Part 1 is too long so putting it all together is too rushed at the end, but.. This recipe generally is a pretty good recipe that leaves the audience satisfied.
DON'T DRAG THE PAIN
SPEND A LOT OF TIME SHOWING TRANSFORMATION
is my advice here
