Not your ordinary gumiho story
I am not a fan of romcom or fantasy genre but i starting watching this because im attracted with the idea of MZ gumiho that's out of ordinary portrayed in common tell. So far the story is fast paced, catchy and colorful fashionista while making people anticipating the development of all characters. Im anticipating more plot development as it is only 2 episodes coming out. Definitely im seated! Was this review helpful to you?

Why are these episodes a little masterpiece?
The originality of the concept. Abandoning the "kumiho dreams of becoming human" template is a stroke of genius. Yeon‑ho does not crave humanity, but she is forced to find it, and this creates a unique conflict. The chemistry of the actors. Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon are the perfect duo. Their interactions are full of energy: from snarky exchanges to moments of vulnerability.
The balance of genres. Fantasy, romance, comedy and drama are intertwined so harmoniously that not a single element outweighs it.
Attention to detail. From Yong‑ho's costumes to the symbols of the amulets, every element works for the atmosphere.
An intrigue without spoilers. The plot gives hints, but does not reveal all the cards, forcing you to guess.: what will happen next to the fate of the heroes?
The first two episodes of "No Tail To Tell" are a celebration for fans of high—quality fantasy. It has everything: charismatic characters, witty dialogues, a beautiful picture and a deep thought about what it means to be human. The drama doesn't just entertain — it makes you think, laugh and worry.
Final assessment: 10/10. An absolute hit that is worth watching for anyone who appreciates a creative approach to mythology and sparkling humor. Don't miss it!

Review: No Tail to Tell (Episodes 1-2) A Sassy Start With Heart on the Horizon
If there's one takeaway from the first two episodes, it’s this: Kim Hye-yoon is a comedic force of nature. As a defiant, MZ gumiho, her character veers away from the traditional "mystical predator" trope to something far more refreshing and chaotic.
In the first two episodes, she carries the show with a nice blend of sassiness and quirkiness. I find her gumiho portrayal a breath of fresh air and somewhat relatable especially when she's using her powers to navigate small inconveniences, her "IDGAF" energy is hilarious!
• Her comedic timing is sharp, making her character’s arrogance feel more like a charming personality flaw than a villainous trait.
• Her character seems perfectly content being a bit of a menace, which makes for some of the funniest sequences in the drama so far.
Expectations:
While the first two episodes are heavy on the laughs, I really feel that Kim Hyeyoon is just getting started. She has a unique ability to peel back the layers of even the most abrasive characters to reveal a vulnerable core (think Kang Yeseo of Sky Castle).
Right now, we are enjoying the firecracker personality, but I believe (or am hoping) the seeds of a deeper story are being planted. I’m fully expecting that as the series progresses, Hyeyoon will inevitably bridge the gap between her character’s prickly exterior and the viewer’s heart. Her "flaws"—the selfishness, the defiance, the ego—will likely become the very things that make her eventual growth so moving.
In conclusion, the first two episodes are a high-energy introduction that proves Hyeyoon can lead a rom-com with her eyes closed. However, I am really excited for that moment she makes us cry just as hard as she’s currently making us laugh.
Note: It seems most of the mixed reviews/criticisms are currently geared towards the CGI and directing but I honestly am not that bothered by it so far so I have no comments on those aspects.

K-Drama Hype vs. Reality: A Mid-Level Watch
Here’s my two cents on this drama. It’s still ongoing, but wow, I had no idea how K Industries’ PR works. So many new accounts appeared just to give 10/10 ratings right after the release—some even created their MDL accounts on Jan 17 or 18. Whatever it is, the drama itself isn’t anything extraordinary. The FL tries hard to channel Kang Bitna, but her acting is just… mid and it feels like a torture to see her overacting. The other cast is good, but sometimes it feels like they forgot how to act.I definitely wouldn't recommend spending time on this. The trailer was good, and I thought it could be another quality romcom, but for me, the main issue is the overacting. It felt like they were trying too hard to be funny and silly, which prevented it from feeling natural.
Also, as a foreigner, it was cringe to see how the main character orders everyone around on the English team-telling them what to eat, how to train, and how to approach each game. I thought that is what managers are for. He is portrayed as a "superman" among the rest of the mediocre and not-very-smart players.
I realize this comment might be unpopular since I'm not doing the show any favors, but I hope I can save someone time by suggesting they skip it if they are looking for a quality show.

Fun show which only gets better!
I will say that the flow of the story could have been better in episode 1. They show the background story and present day but it could have been done better. Having said that, the story is fun and Hye Yoon is brilliant. She’s funny but also sarcastic. Lomon is also great. I can’t wait to see the chaos that these 2 bring😂. People are complaining about chemistry, but you do realize that it’s only the beginning and the romance in the story will soon evolve. Lomon and Hye Yoon are great together and looking forward to more episodes. Was this review helpful to you?
I'm excited for what's to come!
I don’t like the idea of rating a drama when only two episodes have aired, as it feels far too early to properly judge the story, pacing, character development, etc. However, with obvious troll ratings already appearing, I wanted to help balance things out while waiting to see how the drama truly unfolds in the coming episodes. Was this review helpful to you?

Indeed interesting
UPDATED:I am here updating my review after episode 4. Am I still hooked, yes definitely! Begging for SBS/Netflix to release all episodes now please! Such torturous wait 😂 The storyline/plot is getting extremely interesting.
This drama is NOT for viewers who expects typical romcom, fantasy, straightforward , predictable storyline, if that's you, please do not watch this drama. There are a lot of plot twist, unpredictable, surprises which make it entertaining and interesting.

Initial review:
Watched episode 1..and hooked from the first second (including the intro.....LOL).
It contains interesting plot and the gumiho behaves like the world revolves around her....and what is she with $$$ ! 😂
Kim Hye Yoon again convinced me of her execution of the role. Lomon and the other casts, are superb, especially the guy whom played the villain.
I am eagerly waiting for episode 2 !

No TALE to Tell
Trash showTheres really no TALE to tell cos the plot is so bad. Acting is bad.
No chemistry between the leads
Female lead is annoying. Her voice is irritating to hear. All she did was to scream at male lead. She wanted to be cheon song yi (My Love from the star) so bad but failed lol. She doesnt have the aura that screams "bad ass energy". Idk the acting is flat too
Slow and dumb male lead. That guy cant act.

I am intrigued ❤️
After waiting over 12 months for this show, I honestly can’t put into words how excited I am. From episodes 1–2 alone, No Tail to Tell delivers such a strong and captivating introduction to its characters: their personalities, quirks, and subtle nuances are immediately intriguing. The pacing feels just right, and that siyeol and wooseok plot twist at the end of episode 2? Completely unexpected. I’m still shocked and fully seated for what’s coming next.So far, the storytelling has been solid, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how the characters grow and evolve as the series progresses. This is definitely shaping up to be one of those shows you can’t help but get invested in.
PS: Eunho is incredibly exciting to watch…every scene with her is a highlight 🥰

a drama with realistic ending
No Tail to Tail is a fresh and unique fantasy drama that tells the story of a gen Z gumiho who is completely different from the traditional gumiho portrayed in older stories. Instead of being mysterious, dark, and bound by ancient rules, this gumiho feels modern, expressive, and relatable to today’s generation. The drama successfully reinterprets the gumiho myth by blending supernatural elements with contemporary life, humor, and youth culture. What makes this drama especially interesting is how it breaks away from familiar clichés. The gen Z gumiho is independent, emotionally aware, and unapologetically honest, which creates many fun and unexpected moments. The story explores themes of identity, freedom, and self-acceptance, showing how a mythical being struggles with very human emotions and social pressures. This contrast makes the drama feel both entertaining and meaningful. Overall, No Tail to Tail offers a refreshing perspective on a well-known legend. With its light tone, creative storytelling, and modern characters, the drama feels relevant and engaging for younger audiences while still appealing to fans of fantasy stories. It proves that even old myths can feel new again when told from a different point of view, making this drama an enjoyable and memorable watch. Was this review helpful to you?
