My fault for picking it ig
We are witnessing a genuine K-drama epidemic. As the traditional 16-episode format vanishes in favor of shorter streaming seasons, the writing is clearly suffering. While we don't always need 16 episodes, this new trend of 12 - 14 episode runs is leaving plots feeling hollow and rushed.Wasted Potential and Shallow Themes
On paper, this drama was a goldmine. It raised heavy, classic questions: Mortality vs. Immortality, the corrosive nature of Human Greed, and the age-old debate of Money vs. Happiness. The tragedy is that the show raised these issues only to abandon them. It never truly explored the philosophy behind these themes, leaving us with a surface-level experience instead of a meaningful, coherent emotional journey.
Kim Hyeyoon Deserved Better
It is devastating to see such incredible leads, like Kim Hyeyoon, stuck in a project that doesn't do them justice. People are criticizing the acting, but the reality is that no actor can save a script that lacks character depth and logical progression. Hyeyoon is a powerhouse, and this project is a poor representation of what she can do. Since "re-pairings" are so rare in this industry, it’s a shame this was the project they were given. I will not stand for the hate against her based on just this drama.
Choice: The Subverted Trope
To give credit for a "first," the show subverted the standard Gumiho trope. Usually, the immortal sacrifices their divinity to grow old with their human partner. In a controversial twist, the FL chose to remain immortal. While this is "new," it ultimately feels shallow. By refusing to make that sacrifice, it makes the central romance feel surface-level—as if their love wasn't worth the weight of a human life and the difficulties it brings. I dont understand what message they were trying to send with that.
When a drama feels more like a collection of "cool ideas" but there is no follow-through on the themes, it just becomes a frustrating waste of time.

No Tail to Tell is an unique and funny k-drama. It mostly consists of nice romance, comedy and fantasy but balances it out with some very appreciated emotional scenes where the cast’s skill really gets to shine.Kang Si Yeol and Eun Ho make such a cute couple and their romance was definitely the highlight of the show. And even while alone Eun Ho was so cute but caring at the same time. She carries the innocent vibe and the sweet smile just makes you happy lol.
CHAERYEONG OST YAYAYA! My favorite song from the soundtrack and I love it so much! Very happy that Chaeryeong (my bias-wrecker in ITZY) got to sing another OST!
Then I need to yap about Geum Ho. She is my favorite character, carrying this super cute and innocent look! She was insanely cute but also pulled off the cool look during episode 12. She is so my type, she looked amazing the whole show and really made the k-drama even better!
Could have been better:
The first episodes were not that enjoyable, but then episode four was peak and it continued steady and nice.
Some parts, especially the first episodes and the first half of the last episode, were pretty messy and confusing.
When it comes to the characters, I was annoyed by Kang Si Yeol’s egocentrism in the first episodes, but he soon got better. Eun Ho really got on my nerves during the second half of the series though. While Kang Si Yeol tried to adapt to their current situation, Eun Ho mostly thought about herself and for example chose to sell Kang Si Yeol’s air conditioner (without asking for permission or checking the worth of the product) instead of just selling all the very expensive dresses she owned and didn’t wear.
A bit disappointed to not see how Geum Ho ended up and if she got her happy ending after becoming a Geumiho. I would also have liked an explanation for why she looked the same as Eun Ho’s old friend, why did the Heavens decide that?
Best episode: 4

Storyline is truly storylining
Amazing acting with amazing story to tell. Actors really do well. Waiting for more episodes. Must watch🤗I observed the ratings and it is truly sad. But as I go along, ratings is really not that important because more global fans watch it on netxflix including me. I subscribed again on netflix after a year because of this. Kim hye yoon's acting was great. Where is dan oh and solie? Hahahaha. New character unlocked. So proud😍

Folklore Fantasy meets Modern Romance Whats not to Like
So firstly the ratings and reviews here are just a but too negative. Maybe people expected more maybe people who loved lovely runner cant get behind this one who knows but 7.6 (As of March 2026) NO WAY Thats too low.One of the things I've always loved about Kdramas are the completely imaginative, unapologetically unrealistic yet wonderful plots. I love the use of magical, supernatural, time travelling, immortal, reincarnated, mystical characters and worlds. I love that characters and scenarios are introduced as who and what they are without over explaining. This watch / guitar shop / walk man is a time machine yeah okay 👍 lets enjoy the ride. This person is death, an angel, a demon, a nine tailed fox, is on their nineteenth life, is reborn with their past memories intact, great again 👍lets go.
No tail tell is a great example we have the celebrated nine tailed fox, swapping fates, deities, immortal beings with magical powers, shamans, the past, the present all just there to make a great story. We also have an enemies to friends to lovers rom com with angst jeporady life death sacrafice and pain love and loss. We also have a central theme which is about what makes life what living, how can we be happy knowing that in the end we will all have to part with everything and everyone.
No tail to tell has the quintessential power and appeal of these kinds of fantasy kdramas that separates them from western tv and draws us in. That being their ability to explore or at least touch on the most profound aspects of humanity to make us feel the weight of those unknowables yet also make us laugh and enjoy a cute romantic tale.
No tail to tell is not perfect but it has heart. It suffers from some of the annoyingly regular flaws we get too often in kdramas. Character arcs left hanging and unresolved (here its the 2FLs crush, the 2FLs relation to the original friend that the FL knew in the past and most blatantly the MLs grandma 👵 *this was the most disappointing.)
We have the mmmm questions like why did they go that way ending? Why did they waste time with filler when they could given more time to flesh out individual characters? . But overall these flaws are not definitive.
Kim Hye Yoon was excellent!! In the initial episodez of her being sassy her expressions were repetitive but as it wore on she showed remarkable range and confidence. Her emotional scenes were very convincing and her performance was generally spot on. Lomon was less burdened with emotional scenes but he too was very capable if less so than KHY.
The chemistry WAS there, like their relationship their chemistry grew into a very natural feeling and ok he's not Sunjae but come on Si Yeol as a guy was pretty great. They made a cute gorgeous couple and I thought they were great. Kim Hye Yoon is so striking throughout the drama her natural beauty is just so stunning.
I saw someone saying there was no or low stakes. That is just wrong!, the stakes were high throughout and the endgame was not obvious or totally predictable. Not my favourite ever ending but absolutely within the realm of "okay a decent way to finish. "
The music is good, the production values are good. Its a really good drama. It should definitely be rated between 8.2 and 8.5. Do not be disheartened there is so much to like here.

I am forcing myself to watch
I think I am being hasty, dropping it so early but, I'm literally forcing myself to watch solely because I like the cast so much but, they're not doing a good job of keeping my interest.I have watched plenty of Gumiho dramas in the past and loved all of them. The quirky mischievous kangchi in Gu family book, Sweet, innocent and childnlike Gumiho in My girlfriend is a gumiho, elegant gentleman Shin wooyeo in my roomate is a gumiho, and the best in my opinion Tale of the nine tailed 1 and 2 gave us all sorts of Gumihos and creatures alike, some a little evil, some not so much...but the Gumiho in this drama is insufferable, she's selfish, rude, childish and an absolute pain to watch, to make matters worse she's played by Kim hye yoon! for gods sakes!! Do you know how bad a character has to be to make Hyeyoon unbearable to watch??? Bad, god awful bad!! I cannot stand Eunho for one second, and I know I understand she's traumatized , she's got issues that make behave this way and she's the main character so she's bound to develop, but I don't have the patience to wait, I can't.
Maybe if by the time it finishes airing I hear that it got better I could give it another chance but for now, it's just upsetting me.

I'm loving this drama, and I just can't get enough of it 😍! The female lead's acting is absolutely phenomenal, she's so effortlessly convincing in her role. The way she brings her character to life is just amazing 💯. And the chemistry between the leads? 🔥 It's like they're meant to be on screen together! The storyline is engaging, and the plot twists keep me hooked till the end. I mean, who doesn't love a good romance with a dash of drama, right? 😉 The supporting cast is also top-notch, adding depth to the narrative.
What I particularly love about this drama is how it balances the lighter moments with the heavier ones. It's like a rollercoaster of emotions, and I'm here for it 🎢! The cinematography and OST are also noteworthy, adding to the overall viewing experience.
If you're looking for a drama that's a mix of romance, drama, and great acting, then "No Tell To Tail" is the way to go 👍. I've binge-watched it in one go, and I'm still reeling from the feels 😅. Kudos to the cast and crew for pulling off such a great show!

Watch it, it’s Kim Hyeyoon.
I pretty much watch everything that has Kim Hyeyoon in it and I just love everything about this show the separation anxiety is hitting pretty hard.. :( I never knew I wanted domestic gf Hyeyoon so bad until this show like if there’s anything I’m upset about is that I need more of their scenes together!!!! Keep putting them side by side and I’ll be seated!!!!! Park Solomon is such a surprise to me too, I’ve seen him in All of Us are Dead and Sweet Revenge but his acting here has to be his best yet! He usually does action (?) but romcoms suit him too <3Was this review helpful to you?
No Tail to Tell
The entire cast of this series is phenomenally talented – each actor brings a unique spark to their role, crafting performances that are both compelling and heartfelt. Whether they’re navigating intense emotional moments, lighthearted banter, or high-stakes scenes, every single one of them rises to the occasion with incredible skill and finesse. You can really feel the passion they have for their craft, and how well they work together as an ensemble to bring the story’s world to life. It’s this kind of exceptional acting that keeps me hooked, and I’m already looking forward to tuning in for the next episode when it drops – I can’t wait to see what they’ll bring to the screen next 🫶🏻Was this review helpful to you?
Gumiho season is back !
***No Tail to Tell***Engaging story with a perfect balance of mystery and emotional depth. Calm, well-paced storytelling that feels natural and meaningful. Strong character development without unnecessary drama. Beautiful cinematography and fantasy background music.
Kim Hye-yoon delivers a powerful and emotionally nuanced performance. Her expressions and body language convey complex emotions effortlessly. She brings depth, authenticity, and relatability to her character. Her acting adds strong impact to the story and elevates the overall drama
Overall, Kim Hye-yoon’s exceptional acting is a major highlight and a key reason the drama feels so compelling.

New face of gumiho, the strong type one!
I think the beginning of the drama depicts as how it will end, we will never know until we finish watch what will happen to siyeol and eunho cause it somehow looks tragic, but the comedy and the interaction of the characters confuses me on how will the story finally will unfold.. eunho has been avoiding not becoming human all her life but what will actually happen when siyeol exist? The first 2 episode already gave intense story, the writer said the 3rd ep will start the actual story, so I can't wait! Was this review helpful to you?
Fun, and Surprisingly Emotional
For a 12 episode run, it wrapped up surprisingly well, though not perfectly. The plot, while not super original, was still suspenseful and had me hooked. The leads’ dynamic was hilarious and tender, and their acting chemistry was obvious. I do wish the romance aspect was given more time to marinate, but for the short time they were given the leads brought their weight to the emotional aspect of it; if it weren’t for their acting abilities, I don’t think it would have worked. What sets this drama apart from other human-creature romances is their handling of life and death. While things wrap up nicely, the overarching theme seems to center on living life to the fullest, no matter how it ends. No amount of trying to change it or worry is better than enjoying what you have.

Just finished this drama and I feel a little disappointed with the plot development. The writing could've been little better and more logical. The plot is predictable where either lead has to be killed by the other. Ther wasn't anything new or unique. Only the soccer part was little fresh but not much emphasis was given to it.
The cast did their best, it's just that the story was lacking. It didn't have a strong start but towards the end it got engaging. The romance was decent, not the most compelling at first, but it improved towards the end.
I don't know why are people hating on Hye Yoon, she just did her best as Eun Ho and i don't think anyone could've been more suitable for this role. Talking about chemistry, it's just that the story direction wasn't strong enough to show intensity between the leads.
I would love if it had more episodes, and the plot could make more sense.
Things I feel could be added/improved-
* More focus on Kang Si Yeol making his local football team better after the switch and achieving success
* Geum Ho's ( eight tailed fox) romance with the member of Kang Si yeol's fc should have been shown
* Unnecessary 2 long leaps of 9 years
* There should have been more episodes to explain things better
* Purpose of Eun Ho's immortality and her deals with rich people
* What happens to Eun Ho when Kang Si Yeol died due to old age
Overall it was a little disappointing, the makers and story did injustice to such talented and gorgeous leads. I was excited since last year but this isn't what I expected
Also I hope people won't hate on the leads unnecessarily because they did well and don't compare their chemistry to leads in Lovely Runner because both have different plot and all dramas can't be the same. People need to understand this
