Loving the cast!!

I love the cast and the storyline, the ML and FL are great I’m looking forward to more of the episodes to be released. The ML has such enduring eyes and you can watch as he falls harder for FL , the FL and her failure to see the difference between Love and gratitude makes me want to jump in the screen and strangle her sometimes, however this storyline is awesome

The Drama That Got Away

It was torture for me to continue this drama. Let me get into it..

The story was definitely promising and had lots of potential. However, I can't help but cringe over the casting. Don't get me wrong, Victoria and Ding Yu Xi did great in terms of acting their respective characters, but I have to blame the writers.

Following the death of their family members, I expect Chu Yu and Wei Yun to be hell-bent on investigating and avenging their family members' deaths, especially Wei Yun. After watching the first episode, I expect both characters to be tough, goal oriented, and determined but on the contrary, although Chu Yu was determined, I really cringed at her flirty personality. Not to mention, Wei Yun's naivety, innocence, and acting like a lovesick teenager towards Chu Yu just gives me major cringe.

As someone who usually don't mind age gaps in terms of casting, the age gap in this drama is also a major reason for my inability to continue this drama. I don't get what the production was thinking. In the drama, Chu Yu is 3 years older than Wei Yun, however they actually look like aunt and nephew. With Chu Yu's look and her personality, she seems way more mature and experienced than Wei Yun, who really looks like a teenager. The casting of other characters was also not helping.

Wei Yun's oldest brother and Chu Yu's ex, definitely have looks that matched Chu Yu. On the other hand, Wei Yun's look just seems out of place for a love triangle kind of plot. If only Chu Yu's makeup could be softer or Wei Yun's makeup and personality could be made more mature, maybe it could be salvaged.

Beyond boring

This show is beyond boring. Female lead looks like shes 13 years older than male lead and has no chemistry with him at all. male lead is carying the whole show, side plots are boring so I'm fast forwarding 50%, of each episode. The FL starts off alright but gets boring after like 8 episodes always having the same shocked, confused look on her face in every scene, and never admitting her feelings, she acts like ML is her brother and its so wrong to be with him. It's not that deep. I literally frown evey time she comes on Screen now because she always acts the same in every scene and i can't stand it. I just want to see my man happy when she finally agrees to be with him but once that happens I'm dropping. Not to mention the brother of the FL has the same problem as her about loving someone but not admitting it and torturing himself not allowing himself to be with her...

Slow Burn Worth Watch and Better Than the Ratings Suggest

I don’t usually write reviews, but I wanted to share my thoughts because the low ratings honestly don’t reflect the drama at all. The plot may be a little different from the usual, and a lot of people commented that the female lead wasn’t acting well or that her character felt shameless. But I actually appreciated that she never let anyone walk over her or force her into something she didn’t want.

I also loved how the male and female leads consistently supported each other. Unlike many dramas where one misunderstanding ruins everything, these two stay steady, communicate, and stand together. The supporting characters also did a wonderful job and added a lot of charm and balance to the story.

The synopsis does not do the show any justice. The drama has much more depth once you start watching it. It is a slow burn, but the title says it all: Fight for Love. If you enjoy relationship growth and characters who genuinely choose each other through every challenge, give it a try. Everyone has their own preferences, but personally, I think it deserves far better than the ratings it received.

On A Mission To Watch All of Ding Yuxi's Dramas......

As someone on a mission to watch every single Ding Yuxi drama, *Fight for Love* is another gem added to my growing list. It's incredible to see how much he's grown as an actor with each new project. While I loved him in his roles like Melody of golden age and Love game in the eastern fantasy, his performance in this drama shows even more maturity, both in his emotional range and his ability to tackle complex characters. It's clear that Yuxi is not just playing a role, but truly immersing himself in his characters, making each performance feel fresh and compelling. Whether he's in a historical drama or even modern drama, there's something so magnetic about his presence on screen. This drama definitely keeps me hooked, and it’s been such a rewarding experience seeing his journey as an actor unfold. If you're on the same mission as me, you’ll find *Fight for Love* to be another milestone in his impressive career that adds even more depth to your appreciation of Ding Yuxi. He really portrays the character with such depth, balancing the playful moments with the more serious, emotional scenes beautifully. His chemistry with the lead actress is undeniable, making their on-screen romance feel genuine and heartfelt, and lots of passion.

Prior to this also, part of this drama genre is Forbidden Romance and it just hit so different cause it's been such a long time since i have watched this type of drama, so I am really happy yo be able to watch this....

Confused and misplaced FL.

Totally dropped this. really don't like the FL. All she does is playing 3 men. I truly don't hope she will end up with the ML. From new female of the household all trust and follow her to fast. FL is just so annoying and she just gets on my nerve. She has no romantic relationship with the ML. She is way too old for him. I do fast forward when scenes with her comes.

The ML is as always good . His acting is so good. Love all his series. I always looking forward to seeing him.

The series really doesn't work for me. Instead I watch blood river , sword and Beloved 3 and whispers of fate.

This is a wonderful, and undeservingly underrated series. It's definitely worth watching it

I absolutely loved this series. It's perfect in every way which I can say with outmost confidence having watched my large share of trainwrecks of costume C dramas. I loved everything about this series. beautiful and very, very talented cast, fantastic fight scenes, beautiful scenery and exquisite wardrobe and music. I loved the positive vibe of this show and the friendships of the characters. Ding Yu Xi besides being gorgeous, is a very, very talented actor and his facial acting/expressions are priceless. I also love Victoria Song and her character acting in this show. I think the chemistry between the ML and FL was just perfect and they really looked great together. I don't understand why some people would have a problem with the actors' age difference when in fact they were fantastically compatible in every way. Many thanks for the crew and cast for this wonderful series. Bravo!

Victoria Song's Wedding Proposal dance- the best scene in the drama.

Good acting from Joe Chen, but the age gap is quite obvious. If the older brother Wei played Han Mei, the age gap wouldn’t be as noticeable.

The pairing between Wei Jun and Chu Yu is perfect — I can see the brother being attracted to Chu Yu.

However, I really like Ding in this series. He’s so cute and adorable in Episodes 1 and 2. The sudden transformation from being playful and cheeky to a serious young man and the head of the Wei family shows how versatile he is as an actor.

The pairing between Victoria Song and Ding is also brilliant, as their age gap isn’t as obvious.

A Strong Female and A Loving Male Lead

I did not expect this drama to be this good. Chu Yu (played by Victoria Song) was magnificent. She was a strong female lead that would not let anyone or anything define her. She was a protector of the country and of 2 families, the Wei family and the Chu family. Her martial arts performances were so strong. When she made up her mind to have a relationship with the youngest brother of the Wei family, Wei Yun (played by Ryan Ding). After a long period of time Chu Yu started giving her all to be with Wei Yun. You had to love her in this drama, Fight For Love.

Ryan Ding was Ryan Ding, charming, shy and a great fighter. When he decided to love the female lead, he gave it his all. During the last war with the enemy country, Wei Yun killed the enemy's emperor, helped Chu Yu's brother and rescued Chu Yu. He was everywhere. He was named his country's God of War; he did not like the new title, because he knew that it would tap him and others would try to exploit him.

After fighting for so long to be together, Chu Yu and Wei Yun could see the light at the end of the tunnel. They would be together one day. At the end of the drama, Wei Yun was forced to guard the border for three years. Wei Yun and Chu Yu were apart for all three years. When Wei Yun arrived back outside the gates of the capital, Chu Yu put on a spectacular martial arts display for him, then she asked Wei Yun if he would marry her. He finally said "I will".

I loved it!

I haven't written a review in ages, but I have to for this series. I loved it. It was one of the best I've watched in years, and I've watched a lot. I think it's very underrated. The title is "Fight for Love," and that's exactly what happens to all the protagonists. Everyone fights for love in their own way. Both the main characters and the supporting characters were very endearing and had their own stories. A series always captivates me if I can both laugh and cry, and this one definitely delivered. The actors played their roles exceptionally well, especially in their emotional expression. To anyone who's unsure whether to watch it, I recommend just giving it a try.

Watchable but won't be amazing

Casting Victoria Song will ensure pretty good martial art scenes with her strong dancer background. The issue is she won't have much chemistry with the ML.

What's watchable:
-Nice production quality. Balance of colors with no OTP make up, skin smoothing. I love actors looking human and not AI.
-Decent supporting cast
-Decent story. Nothing unique
-Some good choreographed fight scenes

What's not working for me:
-Chemistry ML/FL - None.
-The sequence they executed the tragic before any character build up makes the audience unable to connect
-Overwhelming bad character scenes. Felt like they killed off all the good characters in the opening and rest of the characters are just bad.
-There are no captivating characters that just makes you want to binge through the whole thing.
