Love Untangled Review - ZyKuu
"His heart strings were more tangled than her hair" - This story was very innocent and cute. The film follows the main lead Park Se-ri is a determined teenager on a mission to untangle her natural curly hair. With hopes of having straight hair she aims to impress her crush Kim-hyun. The other main lead is Han Yun-seok whom is a transfer student. Both main leads did well in their role and excelled during the emotional moments. They also had good chemistry with one another. Se-ri is a person who trusts her gut feeling and is very attentive. She displayed her acting range yet again as she continues to impress me. Yun-seok was a very quiet but interesting character whom spoke a lot through his actions. Kim-hyun was a cool character with minimal screen time, and amongst Se-ri's friend group, Sung-rae is who stood out the most as he was the comedic focal point throughout. The OST matched the theme and setting of the film to a tee. I loved the colours of the film, it was very vibrant and pleasing to watch. Although the majority of the film follows Se-ri on her quest for love, there was a segment revolving around domestic violence that I wish topic was explored more. To me that would have added more depth and value to the film's overall plot. In conclusion, this film is great and I would definitely recommend it to all audiences. Was this review helpful to you?
Super cute slow paced movie
Sometimes there are just shows that catch you by surprise. This was one. I have been consuming a lot of shows from China and Japan these last few months. Utterly fed up of the half hearted efforts coming out of Korea. Too artsy, or too sad or too disappointing. Just want some nice happy fun romance, a show with some spirit. So I really didn’t want to start this one but decided to give it a go. I was hooked within the first 15 min. Even for a movie, this show had enough slow pacing it felt authentic in the relationship building amongst the leads, and though nothing significant happens for a while there is enough to know they are starting to mean something to each other.
The romance is quiet and sweet, and not without a bump or two - but a joyous watch. Have been to Korea many times, but this summer I finally made it to Busan, and I am so glad I did. It didn’t feel as epic as Seoul does, but of the places I did go, there were a few that stood out as special to me. Seeing them in this show was icing on the cake.
Clearly there are several people who could care less about this movie. Its a shame. Its an absolute gem.

Cute as…
My review is going to be short and sweet. I have said this often - not enough nice movies or dramas are made these days. Love Untangled is just that - a nice old style movie, which we need more of.Even though it is a sweet movie, there are a couple of underlying themes that do bubble through but don’t overwhelm the flavour of the movie - and that is a good thing.
It was nice watching such supportive friendships, loving families and a setting in Busan. The coffee shop upstairs we have seen in recent dramas.
Ignore the nay sayers here. Embrace this movie for what it is - a gentle reminder of what’s nice in the world.

its simple, but cute
I watched It because i was a bit bored, but It surprised me, i liked It more than i had expected.i loved it, there was no conflict between friends or other characters.
I loved how the other curly girlie helped the fl and told her about the place where she went to straigthen her hair, all her Friends helped her in all the things to confess to the boy she had a Crush on, and he was a nice boy too and respected her.
All the charaters are green flags, It is a cute romance, and it gave us the reason that you dont need to change anything about you so others can love you. It is a simple movie, but the meaning is touching.

Love Untangled: Chronicles of First Love
I watched this movie yesterday and was absolutely thrilled — it’s been a long time since I’ve seen something like this, and I realized how much I needed and missed a film that’s light, cute, and fun, yet carries deep meanings and symbolism in its storyline. It’s a way of addressing delicate topics in a softer, more accessible way.I’ll admit, at first I was nervous about what might happen because I was really disappointed by You Are the Apple of My Eye (2024), which I think was the last high school film that tackled themes like first love. I tried not to get my hopes up, but when I saw Shin Eun-Soo in the cast—oh my God—I got excited (and a little scared they might mess it up haha).
In Love Untangled, set in the 1990s, surrounded by beautiful, nostalgic, and identity-rich scenery, we closely follow the dilemmas of Park Se-Ri, a high school girl struggling with her curly hair. I believe the message becomes especially meaningful for women like me who, as children, felt ashamed of their hair when straight hair was the standard. I spent a lot of time with my hair tied up, didn’t like wearing it down because of the volume, and just like Park Se-Ri, I tried straightening it a few times—only to end up back at square one LOL.
Despite her love-hate relationship with her hair, Park Se-Ri decides to change it permanently to win over Kim Hyeon (played by Cha Woo-Min), the most popular boy in school, whom she met while diving in a spot she thought only she knew. From that moment, her heart is flooded with a typical teenage crush that sees everything through the lens of “love”—all those little coincidences feel like signs from fate.
While trying to find Kim Hyeon naturally, she meets Han Yun-Seok (played by Gong Myung), a transfer student with a difficult life, and that’s when things start to get even more interesting. Personally, I’m enchanted by films that explore the definition and difference between infatuation and love.
Another detail in the movie is that, despite Park Se-Ri’s struggles with her hair, she has a support network—friends she can count on for anything, even her wildest ideas. They’re always in! She’s not a lonely girl at school or at home.
Overall, Love Untangled includes familiar tropes that are executed well. The story is light, sweet, and fun in just the right measure, where small gestures become huge when done with love—and where love doesn’t always arrive like a storm turning everything upside down. Sometimes, it’s as gentle as a sea breeze.

Cute Rom-Com
This was the most adorable high school rom-com. Loved every minute of it. No crazy plot twists, no crazy scenarios. Just a really good story about times in high school. Will definitely rewatch. I loved this so much. Love the actress, first saw her in Twinkling Watermelon, another good one. She plays the main character so well. Loved the friend group too.Was this review helpful to you?
not my kind of genre : juvenile humor- watch the awkward insecure girl & laugh
It makes me sad to not like this & i want to support Korean content on Netflix, but this made me want to quit only 10 minutes in. My problem is that this is not my kind of drama. High school is a hard pass for me. The angst, the awkwardness, the whole mentality, the fact that you can't really have a satisfying romance with a satisfying conclusion because; it's high school ! I tried to like this, but it got me cringing at the humor & when the female lead starts to pursue her crush, you know she's going to make a fool of herself & we are supposed to laugh. Again, this kind of humor is a hard pass for me. I've got other dramas I will enjoy betterWas this review helpful to you?

Love Untangled: 9/17/2025
I enjoy romance movies, however the usual downside is they aren’t done well. By this I mean when things such as the romance fall flat or the storyline feels rushed, usually one of theses things takes place. However in this movie they did not, though I do kinda wish the story was longer the pacing was really well. I also really liked the romance, it developed naturally and felt fitting. I also love how the ML loved the real her and not the girls she was trying to become, it was something really refreshing. The only thing I didn’t like was the forced breakup arc, it felt dumb but at least it was easily resolved. Overall an amazing movie and I definitely recommend watching. Was this review helpful to you?

Easy watch
Every so often you need a show that doesn't have angst, difficult characters, and it isn't long and drawn out. This cute little movie was just the ticket for me. All of the characters were very likeable. I also like the idea of a guy quietly liking a girl, without demanding anything in return. Everything was nicely wrapped up in a sweet package. Was this review helpful to you?
English and Portuguese Review
𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥"Love Untangled" is a light and charming movie, great to watch. The characters are charismatic, especially the protagonist, who easily captures the audience’s attention.
The story follows the young girl as she deals with her feelings for a boy who appears very little on screen, until a new character enters her life after she saves him from drowning. From that moment on, a friendship begins to grow naturally and becomes central to the narrative.
One of the strongest points of the film is the way it portrays the protagonist’s insecurities about her curly hair. The pressure to change her appearance in an attempt to feel accepted and loved is shown in a sensitive way. As the story unfolds, she discovers that she didn’t need to change anything about herself — that her beauty was already there, and there were people who valued her exactly as she is.
What I felt was missing was a deeper exploration of the perspective of the first boy she liked. At times it seemed like he also had feelings for her, even with her curls, which could have taken the story in a different direction. Still, the relationship she builds with her friend is more solid, based on presence, support, and safety, which makes her final choice understandable and, in a way, the most ideal one.

I thought you folded cranes not eggs
This was such a cute story about high school romance! I loved all the characters from the main three to the rest of the friend group! I'm not going to lie I was a little sad when Cha Woo-Min's character ended up being the second love interest instead of the main one. I thought him and Shin Eun-Soo had great chemistry together. I personally thought they had more chemistry than the main two together. I was still really happy though with the main two ending up together because they were really sweet. I also didn't like how Se Ri made it seem like Hyeon didn't like her curly hair and weirdness and we saw that he did. Other than that, I really enjoyed it! Highly recommend! Was this review helpful to you?
A Nostalgic, Heartwarming High School Romance
"Love Untangled" is such a sweet, nostalgic ride. It reminded me of the warm, simple charm of ‘90s high school dramas that I grew up loving. The main character, Se Ri, is so relatable with her hair struggles and big-hearted attempts to confess her feelings. Gong Myung’s portrayal of the supportive boyfriend is everything, seriously, K-drama needs more characters like him. I also loved the message about self-love and staying true to yourself, which felt really refreshing. It’s just the kind of feel-good drama you watch when you want to smile without thinking too hard. Sure, the last bit had an unnecessary misunderstanding that kind of dragged it down, but overall, it was an adorable, peaceful watch that left me with all the warm fuzzies. Definitely one I’d revisit when I’m in the mood for some nostalgic, heartwarming romance. Was this review helpful to you?
