unique story, great acting, best thai show 2024

First I was intrigued to get a different story every episode or so I assumed. But after two stories, the stories get expanded. And when you watch ep 6 you know there is something different going on. That's a novel concept to watch many BLs in one BL :)

Both MLs are very good at their jobs conveying different characters with different mindsets and with many emotions.
Both are standing out from most other thai BL actors playing the same character over and over again. So this show stands out in creativity and execution. While not perfect it's exceptional in the year 2024, where we got so much trash. Without a doubt, it's the best thai BL series in 2024.

I don't want to spoil the fun for you, but you should watch this. Yes you will cry, but you will also feel happy.

Not a reincarnation story.

I was expecting a reincarnation story but instead it's several stories using the same actors.

Story 1

It took me a moment understand the fantasy element and if I understood correctly in this universe rain makes the world black and white except for your soulmate. It was very cute pretty much the same story as La pluie but told better, this one actually makes sense and doesn't break it's own rules. It's got It's silly moments Like when they can't reach Sun his friend immediately asumes he's fighting with his boyfriend It's weird I would've liked a but more backstory too, there's an Asexual or aromantic carachter here and it would've been nice to see more of that. It's not perfect but very good nonetheless.

Story 2

Is so much cuter than 1 I mean first is soooo adorable I can't with him! These two actors have very good chemistry and I love that this time around their personalities are switched it's so much better than to have them play basically the same carachter every time also the supportive grandma she's the best! I liked it so much better than the first one and I'm excited for the rest.

Story 3

I thought wasn't going to like it at first because X seemed a bit creepy but once they met I started to like it more and more. By Namping's actions I was able to guess what was going to happen and man I am so mad I was right, even knowing what was coming it didn't make it hurt any less, despite the pain I keep loving these short stories more and more each time.

Story 4

I have less and less to say each time, aside from the ugly hair extensions getting uglier than the previous ones there's not much to complain about. Sian is hilarious I fell for him just as fast or maybe faster than Blue did.

Story 5

The one that brings everything together although I didn't like this one as much, it's still a great series overall.

I may be a masochist but, X Namping is the best of all stories, I would actually love to see an extended version of it. I had never seen these two actors before and I'm very impressed with their acting I'll be looking forward to more of their projects in the future.

Nice concept but went downhill at the middle

Okay, babes, let’s get into Every You Every Me. When I tell you I went in expecting a hot mess but came out with… a lukewarm one? I mean, it had its moments, but also, WHAT was the pacing? Like, I was buckled in for a slow burn, and the series was out here speeding like it’s late for class. Then I found out each episode had a different story, and I was like, “Okay, werk, anthology queen!” But no. They just HAD to throw in double episodes that dragged harder than my mom at family reunions. Anyway, let’s talk, because I am both entertained and annoyed.

---

Episode 1: Soulmates? Slaymates.

First episode dropped the whole “You’re my soulmate, we’re meant to be” spiel, and I was kinda living for it. Simple, clean, cute. Nothing groundbreaking, but hey, sometimes we just want BL comfort food, y’know? It was giving “Pinterest inspo but make it gay.” I was like, “Okay, first episode slaps. Maybe I’ll stan. Maybe this series is about to change my life. Maybe pigs will fly.”

---

Episode 2: Boss Daddy Energy

Whew, the boss x secretary trope was TROPPING, y’all. The tension? Immaculate. I kept squinting at the screen like, “Is he the top? Wait, no, he’s gotta be the bottom. Or maybe switch energy? Girl, the suspense is KILLING ME.” But they kept it natural, no awkward slow-mo stares or cheesy zoom-ins. Like, for once, they’re acting like normal people with feelings. Oh, and the chemistry? Chefs kiss. I didn’t even cringe once, which is saying something.

---

Episodes 3 & 4: Bring the Pain, Cowards.

Okay, now THIS had potential. Namping’s dying, right? Sad vibes. But they gave us NOTHING to work with. Like, what’s he dying of? Seasonal allergies? A tragic paper cut? Gimme DETAILS. And don’t even get me started on the lack of angst. I wanted messy hospital scenes, dramatic crying, maybe even someone yelling “You can’t die on me!” in the rain. Instead, we got, “Oh, he’s sick. Anyway…” I was screaming at my screen like, “HELLO? MAKE ME SOB, YOU COWARDS.”

---

Episodes 5 & 6: Enemies to Lovers, But Make It Basic.

First of all, Shun is the top, and my brain short-circuited because I was SO sure he was the bottom. Like, when the sex scene hit, I literally paused and said out loud, “Noted. Got it. Moving on.” Anyway, it’s your classic enemies-to-lovers trope: they bicker, they bang, someone dies (again, seriously?), and then Shin stops making music because trauma, I guess. But then Blue inspires him to get back into it, and I’m sitting here like, “Okay, cute, but WHERE is the originality?” I was BEGGING for Blue to do something messy, like plagiarize Shin’s song or spill his coffee. Just give me SOMETHING to spice it up.

Oh, and the sex scene? Cute but not life-changing. It’s giving “PG-13 with a sprinkle of R.” Steamy, sure, but not “lemme rewind that real quick” steamy.

---

Episodes 7 & 8: Why Are We Backtracking?

So now we’re watching Roi Inn and Phun, two actors who fell in love while filming the previous episodes. The breakup scene? Mature AF. Like, I was snapping my fingers and going, “YES, adults handling emotions like adults!” But then, outta nowhere, they’re back together because apparently they “can’t move on.” I was like, “Girl, you just had your big dramatic breakup moment, and now you’re crawling back? PICK A STRUGGLE.”

Also, why couldn’t they lean into the reincarnation vibes? Imagine them realizing they’ve been soulmates in every timeline, and their love is destined or cursed or something. Missed opportunity, TBH.

---

The Acting? ATE. Now let’s talk about Top and Mick because these two carried the entire show on their BACKS. Top is out here serving duality like a pro—soft boy one minute, daddy the next. And Mick? Okay, at first, I thought his face looked constipated, but by Episode 5, I was ready to risk it all. Also, why does Mick look like Up from Lovely Writer? Is that intentional? Did they clone him? Either way, Mick’s hotter, don’t @ me.

---

Final Thoughts: A Mixed Bag of Cute and Chaos.

So yeah, Every You Every Me started strong, but by the end, it was giving “meh, but make it gay.” The actors ATE, the director… did not. Would I rewatch? Absolutely not. Would I watch a behind-the-scenes documentary of Mick and Top flirting IRL? In a heartbeat.

Final score: 8/10 for the actors, 2/10 for the wasted potential, and 10/10 for the sheer amount of thirst tweets I wrote while watching this. Thank you, next.

a review per story

Ratings by story-
Ep 1 - 7/10
Ep 2 - 6.5/10
Ep 3 & 4 - 8.5/10
Ep 5 - 9/10

From the synopsis, these two have lived hundreds of lives and end up together in every one, but since there's no indication of this lore yet, I'll view them as standalone stories and rate them individually first.

Episode 1 - 7/10
Starting off strong with a fantasy element, this story takes place in a world where the rain let's you see your soulmate in color, it was a bit confusing the way they did it since it doesn't clarify if everyone is colorblind or if it's just during the rain, but the idea was fun. Their interactions were cute enough but the character development was kind of one sided and their chemistry was just decent.

Episode 2 - 6.5/10
This episode was your classic boss-falls-for-his-secretary type of setting, with a bit of family drama to keep it interesting. Honestly the story was nothing special, but their characters were cute and they did have some sweet moments. I enjoyed how different they were from the first episode's characters, showing off that they have a bit of a range in their acting.

Episodes 3 & 4 - 8.5/10
Episode 3 was a ball of butterflies in your stomach and a warm tension in the air, episode 4 was a mix of tension, confusion, and sadness. The story this time started off a little uncomfortable, a longing love from afar, a car mechanic visiting a family gravesite happens upon a beautiful man visiting his parents gravesite. He looks forward to seeing him every year and when opportunity finally presents itself their chemistry-packed acquaintance begins. This episode changed my mind completely about this series, both their characters and their chemistry were so much better than in the first two stories. The story was a little heartbreaking, though the last few minutes of the episode really makes you question what you just watched.

Episode 5 - 9/10
What a thirst trap, this episode showcases a whole new level of chemistry, even without the insinuations and hot cuts, the way these two flirt in this story is fire. Not gonna lie, switching it up so that Top is a top was a great move, he just oozed sexy completely killed his role. The story this time is a washed up musician who drunkenly agrees to teach his fan how to play guitar, when his fan's big brother tags along to make sure he's teaching properly, their personalities aren't the only things that rub eachother the wrong way ;) . Episode 6 will finish this story so we'll see how this relationship pans out, but so far it's sweet and steamy right out of the oven.

--------
For the series as a whole:

Other than being the same actors, the characters names, personalities, and even the setting or lore are all completely different. For anyone who hasnt seen this couple before, Mick and Top have their own cute short story in 'My Universe' (a Thai BL short story compilation) as schoolmates who basically fall for eachother at first sight. If 'My Universe' was made to decide what couple to cast in the new series, 'Every You, Every Me' was made to decide what type of story they should play in.

It's been fun watching the duality these two have, its like we get to see what flavor of acting theyre best at which is enjoyable in its own way. So far its getting good and im excited to see more, though I do hope theyll tie the stories together at the end. Anyway, I'll add to the review after each new episode is released.

You are my soulmate in every storyline

What I thought would be a series about soulmates turned out to be just that, but delivered in an entirely way than I expected. This was a very innovative and fresh anthology, but the fact that the leads remained the same throughout and so did a majority of the cast made for a really interesting watch.

The eight episodes are split into five storylines and each of them is almost like a representation of some kind of romance trope or that's what I thought. The more you watch, the more the story develops and the huge reveal comes slowly and surely. It is a multiverse series, but not really, and the plot progression is so simple yet makes complete sense.

The individual stories were really nice as well, some of them were simple fun, some others completely wrecked me and for the most part, they were all written very well. My favourite one was probably the fourth storyline (episodes 5-6), but that's not a reflection on the plot itself, more on my personal preference.

But the best part was the chemistry between the leads. They portrayed so many different characters and did that seamlessly of course, but I was so impressed with the fact that the chemistry never really dwindled. The chemistry they had changed based on the kind of plot their characters were a part of, some them required emotional chemistry, some physical chemistry and considering each storyline was only an episode or two, I think they did an excellent job portraying the chemistry and connection between their characters without taking too much away from the story itself.

I very much enjoyed the series and the great chemistry between the leads, they pretty much carried the show and did a wonderful job at that.

I didn't expect that this series would greatly showcase the actors acting flexibility talents and the scriptwriters' creativity. Amazing concept and clever story telling. I was hoping there would be horror, thriller, mystery, historical, fantasy, and action episodes added before episodes 6–8. haha... It would be the best OP BL series ever in history. All in all, this is a great series and cute-handsomest overload with skillful acting because of the main characters.

unique premise (same actors, different characters/stories)

Overall: this is not a reincarnation/time travel plot as all the stories happen in the present day. Instead, the actors play different characters in standalone plots (episodes 3 and 4 were 1 story, 5 and 6 were 1 story and then 7 and 8 tie everything together in a way). 8 episodes about 55 minutes each. Aired uncut on GagaOOLala (not Japan or South Korea) https://www.gagaoolala.com/en/videos/4812/every-you-every-me-2024 & WeTV
https://wetv.vip/play/296rso568y0ryfg/m4100yjgyjz?ptag=3_5.16.5.13870_copy ; airing cut version on YouTube https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvw0WLA6w9UQZrmUoifbNDO9S6yUS9ry7&si=JHVZI3-LAPw_9dev Note: watch after the initial end credits as some episodes have a separate plot

Episode 1 - I was a bit confused with the world building but then it made sense. I enjoyed the sweet moments, the friendship (potentially aromantic character as a bonus) and the intimate partner abuse felt realistic. Not a fan of the comedy sound effects and they could have made it a bit faster pacing-wise. Content warnings: intimate partner abuse/violence, manipulation, manhandling, past death

Episode 2 - typical cold CEO/nervous worker plot. That grandma way overstepped boundaries though her heart was in the right place. Enjoyed the sweet moments. Content Warnings: manipulation

Episodes 3 & 4 - I was going to rate this higher; however, I couldn't get into the moping/angst because they explained it much too late. Not a fan of silent simping for years and making a choice for someone without talking to them first. Liked the second couple and the supportive friends/family/coworkers. Content Warning: a major one but I'm keeping this spoiler free

Episodes 5 & 6 - there were peak visuals in this episode lol, I enjoyed the flirting and physical affection. I really disliked the invasion of privacy and the shoehorned plot with the female character. They spent too much time on the past in this episode as well. Content Warning: past death, manipulation

Episodes 7 & 8 - I'm trying to be spoiler free but I had the most issues with these episodes

Watch Suggestions
- end ep 5 at 45min
- watch ep 6 22-35:30
- skip ep 7
- watch ep 8 31 to the end)

What I Liked: I most enjoyed how the actors were able to play such different characters, the styling was great. The commentary on challenges of shipwork towards the end was also unique and interesting.

Room For Improvement: because I didn't see a key aspect of them as an established couple, it was difficult for me to root for them. The non linear storytelling at the end of episode 6 thru 8 made things needlessly confusing. They didn't actually show what didn't work, so I'm not convinced everything has been resolved and it won't happen again. The time jump felt like a cliche way to resolve the conflict.

You will have to adjust your mindset as you watch it.

I placed spoilers at the end of this review.

I usually don’t start with this but it’s important to know the series description on this page (Director’s Cut) is not very accurate. That being said, it would have been hard to write a series description without giving away the main storyline. Although it’s not accurate, it is the best one because the description on GagaOOLala and the MDL page for the regular version are completely wrong.

Overall, this was an awesome series. This may be an unpopular opinion but the main story concept was great. With not given too much away, the beginning of the series started off with episodes (1; 2; 3-4; 5-6) showing standalone storylines using the usual BL concepts. However, all of them are connected in a very unique way. My advice is to pay close attention to the closing credit scene at the end of episode 2 and the extra scene at the end of episode 4 because both did a very good job foreshadowing what the series is really about. The script was good, but it was not perfect. It had a very strong beginning, but became weak around episode 6. At this point the episodes dragged a little and there was some wasted screentime. The entire cast was wonderful. A big kudos for the two main actors because they did an incredible job getting into their characters with each different storyline. I didn’t feel like I was watching them portraying the same character over and over again. It also helped that the styling department did an incredible job creating different looks for the different characters.

Random Notes:

The location used for Namping’s house (episodes 3-4) was also used in the series “Knock, Knock Boys”. The house location used for episodes 5-8 was also used in the following series: “Twins” (Sprite and Zee’s childhood/father’s house), “GAP” (Mon’s house), “Enchanté” (Akk’s house), and “Something in My Room” (Phat’s house).

******Spoiler Alert******

MDL for the Director’s Cut series description is the best one because it doesn’t give away what the series is really about. However, I did go into this thinking the love story concept involved either reincarnation or multiple alternative universes.

I thought Top and Mick did a great acting job. It is not easy to portray multiple characters, especially in the same series. Not to mention portraying a character that is an actor that is acting on a fictional series set.

An experience like very few others

Suggestion:

If you watch the series, don't read comments and spoilers, don't even read the synopsis lol, just go watch it. There are plot twists. I sadly knew some of the major ones and while I'm kind of glad I knew what going to happen, I would have felt everything much deeper and I would have wailed my eyes out a lot more if I hadn't seen anything.

I'm not trying to over sell it. This drama could have been more polished. I'm not saying it's the "best drama ever", but the way it made me feel was undeniable. That is what makes it one of the best dramas to me.

Review: **Spoilers**

Oh man, this series made me feel a certain way. I will truly miss it. A big thank you to the actors, director, screen writer, cast, and crew for this beautiful series. You all did a fantastic job creating something different.

I like the premise of it. I think it would be cool to see another BL that kept with the theme of a different story line for each episode because they are soul mates finding each other again. Like the synopsis, but what this was, was interesting too.

Each episode was pretty good. Especially, with the time contraints. Trying to show us a complete story in less than an hour for some of the episodes was ambitious, but I feel like they did it well. The seires was just over all different.
The tears were real, the emotions were raw, it was just a beautiful experience and I'm glad I was apart of it.

I feel like Top and Mick shot up to the top of "need to watch actors". I know Top has another project coming up with a different pairing, but I think Top and Mick's chemistry is insanely good. Too good to waste. I really hope they work together again.

If they can find their way back to doing more projects together in the future, it feels like they could really hone their craft better and work extremely well with each other.
While I don't really "ship" people (I'm more of a "shipper lite". As in, I like to see people with good chemistry together, but if they don't they don't and if they do they do.), they could be one of the top ships in the industry, if they wanted to.
It's hard being an actor, but it's freaking hard being a BL actor imo. If you can master it, that in itself deserves accolades.
But it might not be their goals. They both definitely have more potential to show us and I can't wait.

The OST was basically 1 song, "Every Tears" by Sin. But that 1 song had a deep impact on me and added to this experience. I've had it on repeat and it brings me back to the series when I listen to it. I wish I could find an English lyric version of it on yt, but so far the only translation of the lyrics I've seen are when they translate it on the show. 10/10 beautiful.

The last episode was a little rushed and messy, but considering the series is only 8 episodes and they didn't get to "their story" until the last epsiodes, I think the actors both did a fantastic job.

Overall it was a 10/10 for me.

❤️❤️❤️❤️Every You, Every Me❤️❤️❤️❤️

A Fresh Take on Familiar Faces

This drama takes an interesting approach with the same actors portraying different characters in each story. It’s a fresh concept that allows the cast to showcase their range, and they did a fantastic job of bringing distinct personalities to life. While some episodes were stronger than others, the overall experience was enjoyable.

I'll review each episode separately:

Ep. 1: Soulmates – 8/10
World setting: In this world, people can only see in black and white—except when it rains. When soulmates look at each other in the rain, they see the world in full color.
Sun, who longs to meet his soulmate, encounters Dol, who doesn’t believe in soulmates.
This was a simple yet sweet and heartwarming story. The chemistry between the leads was great, and the soulmate concept added a nice touch. However, the abusive ex-boyfriend subplot was unnecessary.
Plus points: Sun’s best friend, Heng, as an aroace character was a refreshing addition!
"I don't want to be with anyone. I'm not interested in love. I can be happy without love. I hope there is a place for someone like me in this world."

Ep. 2: Boss and Secretary – 8/10
A classic "boss falls for secretary" trope, but executed well! First is hired as Prin’s secretary by his grandmother, who also tasks him with finding a partner for Prin—you can guess where this is going.
The romance was adorable, and the leads had great chemistry. Prin’s grandma being a BL fan was both funny and endearing, though she did cross some boundaries.
Plus points: Grandma was strict but had a soft heart.

Ep. 3 & 4: A Simple Yet Tragic Love Story – 7.5/10
X, a mechanic, falls in love with Namping, a beautiful man he meets in a cemetery. Every year, he visits the cemetery on the same date just to see him. They eventually form a relationship, but Namping wants to go abroad again. What X doesn’t know is that Namping has been sick for years—until he passes away.
This story had so much potential for deep, heartbreaking angst, but it felt underdeveloped. Namping’s illness reveal lacked emotional weight, making it feel like a simple plot point rather than an impactful moment.
Plus points: Namping’s supportive cousin was a nice touch.

Ep. 5 & 6: Guitarist and Artist – 6/10
A musician and an artist? Sounds like a great setup, but it didn’t quite hit the mark. The flirtation between them was fun, but beyond that, the story lacked depth.
Plus points: The humor was enjoyable.
Downside: That ridiculous wig was distracting!

Ep. 7 & 8: Actors Playing Different Roles – 6/10
A story about actors taking on different roles in a production, with a time skip after a misunderstanding—definitely a cliché. The setup had potential, but it felt underwhelming.

Overall Thoughts
The drama started strong but lost momentum towards the end. The concept of using the same actors for different stories was interesting and allowed for diverse storytelling, but not every episode delivered the emotional depth it aimed for. Some love stories felt truly engaging, while others lacked impact.
Would I recommend it? If you enjoy anthologies and watching actors showcase versatility, then yes! Just be prepared for some inconsistencies in storytelling quality.

Great chemistry and acting

This concept of a BL compilation is completely new to me, but I must say, the actors have amazing chemistry regardless of the different moods and setups. Personally, I found the first episode (based on La Pluie) to be really cute. Mick is so neat and well-groomed, and Top is absolutely adorable. At the very least, their acting never disappoints.

Additionally, X and Namphing’s story really got me hyped. Mick is so manly and hot in that role, while Top looks absolutely stunning! ❤️ Even though I already had an idea of what was going to happen, and to be honest, I usually hate watching these kinds of stories, I couldn’t stop myself. As I kept watching, I realized how similar it was to the plot of HIStory 3: Make Our Days Count. I already assumed he was sick, but what annoyed me the most was the decision to leave instead of staying until the end. Yes, the time with your partner might be short, but wouldn’t it be better to spend that time together, dying without regrets, and sparing your loved one even more pain? The story is undeniably beautiful, but also incredibly painful.

To be honest, I know it will be difficult for them to catch up with the rising stars and already famous artists of GMM. However, I truly hope these two will gain more recognition for their incredible chemistry and acting skills. I’ll continue to support those less well-known BL artists. Of course, regardless of the regions. Besides, CBL and KBL are now trying to enter this world of BL once again. Lovelots!

The most Precious Gem

My review is watch it. It is worth your time. There are aspect where I thought the writers may have been drunk when they wrote it but for some reason the "drunk" writing worked. There are numerous BL out there trying to pass themselves off as good shows, this one is in my top 20 with KinnPorch, Advance Bravely, I told Sunset About You etc. So Watch it.
