Growing up (too) fast - What matters

'I'm telling the truth' Minase says. ',Focus on what's important' the teacher tells him. Sums up a lot about how justice is served. Jin COULD say he was walking by the shop, saw Majima and not Haruki running off. His friends knew he was headed there. Then again, he's probably a bit cross with his lover - if he'd said yes to moving in, if he',d come round for dinner earlier, the fight with Majima wouldn't have happened. Poor Haruki no longer wants to be hit,but doesn't want to hit back. Best reason to go back to school for him? Looking at Minase of course! Learning's pretty secondary. He's been labelled. It's a shame there's no art teacher fighting his corner. 'Art' isn,T thought well off, yet the boys often go to the bookstore or watch films. Of course, survivor is so much better than victim. Haruki is not the sum of all the bad that's happened to him . He needs to recognise this, too. There's a beautiful muted colour palette, red bridge aside. A brief sparkle comes from Jim's mother but it's not welcome. It's unexpected and unreliable. The hug on the bridge is lit quite differently from each young man's point of view. Cliffhanger? Well, partial school setting - test taking and results!

i saw a movie where it more or less said that…

i saw a movie where it more or less said that if there is abuse in a family, the authorities can't/wont intervene as the patriarch of the family has the right to educate those under him; wife, children. & only if he kills someone the cops get involved. idk if this was an exaggeration or this the actual reality in Japan. same with the authority the teachers have or rather the homeroom teacher. *******************************************************************************************************************************poor Hirukawa, everyone hell bent on destroying his life & he knows (or is so used to everyone dumping sh*t on his head) that there is no point fighting, so he is quietly going along for this destructive ride. ******************************************************************************************************************************************btw all the kids at school rejoicing at his downfall & they better then him, cause? same with Minase's friends, they keep asking him why he's defending Hirukawa. why can't he retort "why u bad mouthing him"?!? but he just gives up at the slightest push-back. not blaming him given his personality but still frustrating to watch. as Hirukawa is on a downward spiral that doesn't feel like it will end well... ********************************************************************************************************************************************i hope Hirukawa doesn't take the blame for his father's death, he has the self-esteem beaten out of him by his father & by life. i hope he doesn't say something that will give the cops the go-ahead to toss him into jail. it's not like anyone cares or will do the due diligence to make sure what the truth is. kinda heart breaking

he’s a out to look sexy af after jail

there were some genuinely beautiful shots in this episode ,honestly overall the camera+work & how the actors look has grown so much junsei looked the best he’s ever looked in this episode of this show but oh my god the constant flash±backs when minase mimicked hirukaea’s fountain scene WE REMEMBER WHAT THAT SCENE LOOKED LIKE . . . it seeves zero purpose ro bring back rhe old footage & disrupt an important moment like this to grab our hand & yank us through the symbolism like this show has a lot of nervce to dreat us like we can’t possibly figure this out ourselves when every single side(character has less depth then their disney channel trope counter+parts ,the friends the teacher the mother the father like inget nad when i see them because they’fe just so uninteresting they don’t do anything special they just give out their stereotpyical line & linger for too long ;a lot of the serious dialogue like geniinely sucks but i can give them the benefit of the dount that this is just bad translating but this show really does suffer when it’s not hirukawa ' minase imteracting ,his fight with his dad was weighed down ny how cliche ‘ ‘ booze !booze !i need more booze because i am an alcoholic & abusive ’ ’ his father is & rhen his dialpgue to him was just so . . . milkquetoaste ,this episode was redeemed by his adorable first line to minase when he grabbed him ,i do have to agree that the acting for derious moments gets a bit stiff but it doesn’t help that they also have to say such unnatural things in the script ???

Such a heat wrenching episode. Its so caring…

Such a heat wrenching episode. Its so caring to see Minase has still not given up on Hirukawa when he has given up on himself. The dad's death just seemed out of nowhere though, put in just for the plot though. It's also so sad to see that Hirukawa thinks everything is his fault.
