great first few episodes, downhill ever after

- great acting, let down by a terrible script (plot and character development) in the second half of the series.
- i was unsure whether to watch this because i didn’t want another disappointingly mediocre drama after King the Land, but I was surprised by how strong the first episode was. sadly, every subsequent episode gets weaker. it becomes like king the land where the scriptwriter uses a string of cliches-for-plot at the cost of character development and tension
- FL: in what world would a crop top and a mini skirt be suitable attire for the workplace? the styling was so off.
- the cast of mums are boring af. there’s so little character development that when they do have a plot line or dialogue, they end up being complete caricatures even though the premise - that mothers should have a career path too - is interesting
- the 2ML has a haircut that looks like the 1980s black american aunty haircut. get a haircut, my guy
- 2FL was fun & refreshing as a character - not jealous, not overly attached, confident & self assured, but also slightly obnoxious in pushing herself on to the 2ML & meddling
- ML’s mum was kind of interesting, but my interest fizzled out
- the swimming pool scene: why the hell is it presented as romantic that the ML dived in to save the FL, when the ML dropping her hard work into the pool is why she was there in the first place given he already knew she can’t swim?! get out of here.

it’s a better version of king the land (which was shite) for the first half at least and then it’s as shite as it for the second half.

Great start with lovely chemistry but a weak ending

This drama starts in a very fun and engaging way and quickly pulls you in. The chemistry between the main leads is strong and their interactions are sweet and enjoyable to watch. The acting is good and the cast does a solid job overall. There are many cute and emotional moments that make the drama entertaining. However the story does not stay consistent till the end. Some parts feel stretched and certain choices in the story feel unnecessary. The pacing becomes uneven in the later episodes and the ending feels rushed. Even so the drama is still enjoyable for its romance and lead performances. It had the potential to be much better but remains a decent watch for rom com fans.

Downhill after episode 3

What I liked the most? The first 2-3 episodes of the drama. That's all. I'm not quite sure how I ended up finishing this drama but it may be because I was hoping it would redeem itself. It had so much potential. But the FL just irritated me with how clueless she acted. She was immature for her age. The ML was amusing to watch but his character was so inconsistent. The whole plot was inconsistent and the ending was underwhelming. One good thing about it is that it got me back to watching K-drama again. I don't know how but it did.

Disappointing more damp squib than Dynamite Kiss

I just finished this yesterday and boy was it a struggle. I had never seen either FL or ML in anything before - I found the ML's acting quite good and believable.. The FL may be a good actress but the character /direction wasn't great: hard for me to believe a 30 year old still sitting civil service exams for 5 years in any country... Found her quite self-centred in the first episode and after the 'dynamite kiss' (which really wasn't passionate at all even by K-drama standards) felt that the ML was totally more into her than she was ever into him (ready to sell that blue dress at the end for example). So difficult to believe in the romance.. Felt really sorry for the SFL who got a rough deal and the SML really wasn't playing fair.. Loved the Mother's working group and most of the cast were pretty good actors but the storyline which was completely chock-a-block with all the k-drama cliches let them down. Really didn't like the 'group dance' at the end and actually felt that the FL and ML dancing together showed how little chemistry there was between them.. Relative newbie to k-dramas and j-dramas but perhaps I've been spoilt by the FL/ML leads chemistry in 'My Demon' and 'Destined with you'. The poor working class heroine and the son of chaebol scenario was more wittily handled in "Business Proposal" which also had fewer episodes.

chill, well-paced, and really romantic.

Very entertaining!
Fun, sweet, and funny, with its dramatic moments (just a few) You can really tell it was made with a lot of love.
The characters are extremely lovable, and it gives you a strong sense of found family and an ever-growing bond between them.
Even though the final chapter felt a bit cliché and rushed to me, it’s still clear that this is a series created with genuine care and affection.
It’s definitely a great option if you’re looking for something calm, comforting, and safe to see.

All because that damn kiss

I genuinely enjoyed this show, not because it's actually great or that it's in any way unique.
İt's the most cliché series ever, full of overused moments that been done to death in many dramas before.

But it's fits my mood, and it's very bing-able.

Story: not the best, stereotypical and repeated many times, only elevated by the performance and the fast pace, I didn't find it boring, at least untill ep11 or 12 where it deviated a little from it's original path.
This is a romcom and it gave us that, the last couple of episodes, after everything is good with the leads and they reached their happy end, the writer suddenly remembered that there were some bad guys that needed to be stopped and a conspiracy that needed to be exposed, also we still have some very very original tropes to add to the mix like, breaking up, accident, memory loss, bad character goes good, also a sudden change of a heart to give the second couple their happy end ...
So Story-wise, not the best, cliché but consistent till the last 2 episodes, then another types of cliché but not terrible.

Cast and characters:
Now I have two things to say here about the actors and about their performance as their own character, because everyone was good but Ki Yong, my man shines here like no one else, I mainly watched for Eun Jin because I'm a huge fan but Ki Yong stole the whole show, and I'm talking about his performance not the character himself, he showed a wide range of emotions he was spectacular, he gave us an expression for each feeling and I genuinely enjoyed him as a dorky, revengeful in a funny way and seriously immature adult.
Of course the rest of the cast were amazing, but as I said Ki Yong stole the show İMO.

Characters: generally I didn't expect any depth in the characters but I found that Jo Hyeok was so complicated and layered character, surprisingly so, also Da rim isn't the original damsel in distress, but she also isn't the modern strong independent lady that doesn't need a man to rescue her, I don't know how they managed to add the Cinderella idea but at the same time makes here as mature and dependable as she actually is, so I loved the two leads, but hated SFL, she was soo pushy and annoying, I felt SML deserves better, she is a very stressful person, I don't think anyone like her would fit someone as mature and kind as SeonU, even if she gets along with Jun, like she is the same mental age that's probably why they gets along so SeonU is very suitable for her, he is her best choice but she will only drains him out of energy and he need someone much better.

I don't dive deep in characters and stories of the romcoms I watch especially the ones full of cliché and overused ideas, but this deserves to be talked about ~~

Cute Kdrama

I am not sure why people have put up such bad reviews, but my opinion begs to differ. Sure it's a cliché but it has a fair share of sweet moments, definitely a one time watch atleast. I am of the opinion that a little dose of clichéness is also pretty good and should not be blamed. Please give this drama a chance, it is a good watch guys!

Disappointed by the Plot

This is my first time writing a review for a K-Drama, and I might not be the usual viewer. I've watched many K-Dramas before, but the story of this one annoyed me so much that I had to share my thoughts.

The series started off okay, but after about the halfway point, it started to get worse. The story is one of the worst I've seen in a K-Drama.

Even though the plot wasn't good, the actors did a fine job and the soundtrack was pleasing. These parts helped to cover up some of the worst parts of the plot, including parts that just didn't make sense.

The biggest letdown was definitely the last episode. If the producers had made fewer episodes and put more effort into a good, solid story with an ending worth watching, I think this series could have been much better. It's a shame that the talents of the actors weren't used properly in this series.

Average

Dynamite Kiss” is a pure love story blended with hate, revenge, and deception. However, it is an average drama with nothing particularly new or unique in its concept.

A boy meets a girl on an island, and due to certain circumstances, they pretend to be lovers. Eventually, they share some heartfelt moments and have a one-night stand that changes everything for both of them. However, it affects the boy deeply. He genuinely falls for her. After their one-night stand, she suddenly disappears, and he searches for her everywhere like a desperate man. When they meet again, she is the mother of a young boy, which leaves him in shock.

Although he tries hard to move on, nothing works. On the contrary, he falls even more deeply in love with her. Eventually, he decides to get married to a girl whom his family wants him to marry as he sees no other option. In the end, the misunderstanding is cleared, and they live happily ever after.

I liked the first two episodes, but after that, the story became boring. I liked the second couple more than the main leads and the child artist. In terms of acting, everyone performed very well.

Second Lead Couple deserve a happy ending

Although I loved the storyline between Jihyeok and Darim, I was disappointed at the SLC's storyline. Seonu is such a red flag and keeps driving away Hayoung, and Hayoung keeps chasing after a man who can't even give her a slightest importance or appreciation, especially after all she have done for his son and even defending him from her family. I also felt sorry for Darim's sister. She also deserve a redemption arc. The writers were just too focused on the main couple.

Nevertheless, I loved the drama's setting in Jeju Island, especially the glow-in-the-dark beach. Also loved the OST, and the black credit card plot twist, which has also been iconically and hilariously featured in previous hit dramas such as Business Proposal. It's still worth watching though, so I'll still give this drama a 7.5 rating.

dynamite? well not exactly

this started off really promising. jang ki yong can stare at his love interest with the best of them, truly no notes. the general premise is a little wild and I wondered right from ep 1 how the heck he was going to get over being lied to like this. but alas it's a drama and things work out.

what took me out of it was the last few eps. I didn't love the direction they went in and found it frustrating. the ending brought me back in though (who doesn't love a cute little cast dance number to send it home?)

overall, a fun, campy watch but nothing exceptional. I was really in it for the team of moms. they were the real stars of the show. I loved watching their relationships grow and their fight to prove themselves amidst disbelief and being taken unseriously. they were very endearing.

the drama's beginning and the moms are why I bumped this to an 8 (also my crush on Jang Ki Yong, there I said it)
