What is fun?

Not everything has to be realistic, serious and have a bigger meaning or lesson behind. Let's allow ourselves to just laugh a little every once and a while.

I sat down to watch this drama with my mom and we had a great time, just laughing and chatting about the characters. Imagine my surprise when I opened the reviews in this app and saw people hating on it.

Dynamite Kiss is a silly romcom with a amazing casting choice, especially the lead characters, that will make you laugh and chill. It's not supposed to be taken seriously, you'll see that from ep 1. If you likes Business Proposal, Whats Wrong With Secretary Kim and similars you'll probably enjoy it.

The ending

definetly felt like the ending was rushed and didn’t show a wedding after they got engaged which I thought it would have instead they jumped years to them having kids. Also hated the fact that the second couple didn’t get a happy ending and left them in a cliffhanger. wish they had added more scenes to their ending instead of rushing through his art gallery exhibition. Wish they had also included more of the coworkers moving to work at her company and taking a look into their lives changing after starting to work.

Started off amazing, ended a bit awkwardly, but still cute

I loved this drama a lot!!! Especially the first episode and the first half of the drama were amazing!!! 😍😍😍

Basically, this drama started off like Cinderella and ended like Sleeping Beauty 😂😂😂

Things I liked:
1. The cast: The main leads were amazing!!! both actors are rather new on my radar but I have been loving their performances in various dramas I have seen recently even if the drama itself was not amazing.

2. The dreamy fairytale vibes: From episode 1 everyone got hooked!!! The makeover, the party scenes, the swoony moments 😍😍😍Jang Kiyoung is so good and his voice os amazing 😍😍😍

3. The humor in the first few episodes when ML thinks FL is married amd cheated on his husband 😂😂😂 And all the inner conflicts he keeps having 😂😂😂 Him scolding his team members was really funny too 😂😂😂

4. Jun and Ha-yeong’s heart-warming relationship 🥹🥹🥹 She was sooooo sweet to this little boy!!! I literally cried in every scene!!! 😭😭😭 SFL was actually my favoritr chatacter 🥰🥰🥰

5. The OST: It was so fun!!! the songs really give a different vibe to the drama!

6. The kiss scenes: Let’s be honest, we all continued watching because we wanted to see another scene like in ep. 1 and 2 😂😂😂

Things I didn’t like:
1. The ML was sometimes a bit too aggressive and toxic at the beginning especially when he threw the documents into the pool etc. I didn’t like that behaviour at all. I would have been sooo turned off by him…

2. Seonu: This man was annoying af!!!! Why did he have a crush on his best friend??? And why was it so hard for him to fall for Ha-yeong??? Dude, even I fell in love with her!!! How can he not??? He does not deserve her!!! He annoyed me so much!!!

3. Darim and her serial accidents and how she constantly had to be saved in the middle of the drama. I was like “AGAIN?” every time it happened… it was a bit too much…

4. The memory-loss at the end was a bit too much imo but they made up for it by kinda justifying it: He basically had to gain them back by another dynamite kiss at the same location where they first met… 😂😂😂

All in all, the positives definitely outweighed the negatives. A fun little watch! I recommend!

irritatedly annoying drama

First i would like to start off, I do not hate any of the actors or actress they acted the way they were supposed to when given the script and direction from the director. What I hate about this drama is the fact that the creators were trying to do a love triangle when it was not necessary. The love triangle between
ML - Kong Ji Hyeok(Jang Ki Yong), FL - Ko Da Rim(Ahn Eun Jin) and the childhood best friend - Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun). This was not necessary. We already know who FL liked. The creators should have just paired up Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun) and Yoo Ha Yeong(Woo Da Vi), but nope, they didn't even let them be together in the end. It was left vague, stuck between just a friend or maybe a girlfriend. Just a genuine question, is it so wrong for a single parent to have romance? Why even bring Kim Seon U(Kim Mu Jun) and Yoo Ha Yeong(Woo Da Vi) together if we are never gonna get a happy ending for these two? I also felt that the ML sister - Kong Ji Hye (Jung Ga Hee), had room for improvement I 100% felt she could have gotten a character growth which was much needed. Kong Ji Hye's character was much more complex than any of the main characters. Her story seems far better, but it ended with her leaving the trash father. With all honesty, the creators were trying to slap the tragedy tag on the Main characters when in reality their tragedy was just a child's joke. Honestly felt like a kid made this script. Yes, this drama is 100% overloaded with cliches. This drama could have been more than just some cliche drama, but the creators decided to make it overdramatic and overloaded with cliche plots. This drama was a major letdown for me. I will say this again, I do not hate the actor/actress, they did their job, they were supposed to do. It's the creators that I hated.

1950s sexism drama. Great for those who do not think and love to watch some s#x. The plot is awful.

This drama takes the worst of kdramas combined with the worst of the West. It goes backwards to 1950s (to be precise: 1200s) concept so prevalent in older kdramas - a stupid kind and sexy damsel in distress saved by a strong, loving, loyal, rich, controling, entitled cruel man who turns all soft bc of her.

=====
I watched this to the end so that I can trash this trash on Dramabeans bc the requirement is to watch a drama to the end in order to comment on it.

ML is chasing FL although she doesnt want him and keeps lying. She wants him but she doesnt want to work for it, so if he insists on falling into her lap, she might consider it, but will bail out and quit at the slightest inconvenience.

He has been chasing her from like ep 1, she kept pushing him away and lying, and she trepidly consented in ep 11,12... and then brazenly lied again and quit fast in ep 13.

Yeah this game is getting old..... To lie so brazenly to someone you "love" is NOT love. To keep chasing someone who does not respond is also not love, it is a mating obsession.

This drama is not a silly frilly rom com, Where is comedy, and where is romance. It is a toxic soapy melodrama trash with too much TMI skinship to the point of sexual harassment at work - and seems like that got the 8+ rating to this drama. which is disappointing. It is Kollywood cesspool.

This is a trashy daily drama material, a makjang melo with unreasonable toxic plots. But even daily kdramas are getting sophisticated these days. Queen's House 100 ep daily is a LOT better than Dynamite Kiss (well after first 20-30 episodes LOL while FL is 100% dumb and naive and blind)

This is a comment of someone else who sums it up well:
https://kisskh.at/778830-kiss-me-for-no-reas
I would just add to that comment that FL lied AGAIN to ML's face, looking him in the eye and hurting him intentionally.

============

FL is a pathetic loser, poor and choosing to stay home and not really participate in life, she is insecure, illogical, VERY WEAK, powerless "victim" (altough she has so many chances to NOT be powerless and the choice to stay powerless is hers... we are in year 2025, not 1950 or 1200.... ) and then FL decides to lie to somehow get ahead, and KEEPS LYING EVEN WHEN SHE HAS CHANCES TO CONFESS AND THERE IS NO NEED TO LIE AND LIES ARE HURTING PPL.... Then she keeps doing stupid things and he keeps saving her. In DK, she trips/falls or drowns or gets cut or somehow injured LITERALLY several times per episode, and he is always there to save her.

This kind of plot is prevalent in many kdramas and it is 10000 % sexism. The FL is a powerless weak clutz damsel in distress, and ML is a controlling knight in shining armor hot stud sugar daddy.

THE AUDIENCE ON MDL PAGE FOR DK LOVES IT. They totally defend FL and feel sorry for ML. The amount of blindly illogical comments I saw there is astounding.

I think it helps bc DK is full of s@xual scenes, they kiss or try to at least once per episode, and there are explicit bed scenes, so all of that portrays ... well... very cheap script and going in the direction of Hollywood cesspool... s@x and violence.

****** So imo this drama takes the worst of kdramas combined with the worst of the West. ******

The drama is mediocre at best.
By ep 8, the female lead has ZERO growth. There are only 14 episodes, so chances are that FL stays a damsel in distress till the end. Maybe she will have a job, and that will be her accomplishment.
ML at least learned about hormones.

ML is a bull in a mating season, all hormones and no brains. FL is a super weak person and a slimey liar who keeps lying and lying although she has plenty opportunities to confess. BUT she is eager to kiss and jump into bed. She also trips falls drowns about 10 times per episode and he saves her. She thanks him saying he is like a father to her.

This is 1950s messages about dumb women who need a man to save them. It is extreme sexist brainwashing. A small child in adult female body, and a smart rich sugar daddy who takes care of her. Without him, she dies. Literally. He saved her life at least once.

This drama has high ratings which shows many very young ppl voted on it. THe drama in reality is blah

but it has plenty kissing and racy TMI scenes...

so ... it will be popular :) for sure :) but .... it is meaningless soapy delusional trash :) Designed to make every loser out there feel like they would deserve such a dedicated, hot, rich and handsome guy like ML.

The only positive note: ML actor acts pretty well and has progressed into complex ML roles

====
The plot:
ML was a controling psycho at the start, then used FL, then played with her bc she kisses hot and he wanted to bag her, then was sad when she ghosted, ... then ... later.... angry when he discovered she was married... he just discovered homones and that he cannot control neither the hormones nor roping of this woman.... he is NOT used to not being in control!!!!!! then... SHE IS AH SO CARING AND NICE.... and ML got to develop some feelings for her, and that combined with his controlling entitled nature, turned him into a BULL IN MATING SEASON, all hormones no brains.... I have seen till ep 9 and that is the situation

ML is genuinely in love after ep....?. I forget which. At first, he was just a controlling cold predator, got interested in her kiss, and he started bagging her... but then .... she disappeared and he realized HE WANTS HER BC SHE KISSED HIM HOT .. and he did not get to finish eating his pray. So he genuinely gets mad bc he wants to finish eating his pray and then gets sad bc it did not happen... and his pray is right there in front of his nose.... and this feeling of infatuation even becomes some kind of caring feeling and then a more genuine love feeling.

As they say, the path to men's heart is food LOL or ... s@x.... or ... god forbid, character LOL on top of other things

So anyways, he did show genuine care towards her but it was always bc she was yummy and he was curious JUST BC OF THAT.

SO ML turns out to be a bull in mating season, all hormones and no brains.

This is the situation before ep 9.

SO IT CATERS TO ALL IMMATURE, WEAK WOMEN THINKING ONE DAY THEY TOO CAN ROPE IN THIS KIND OF "STRONG POWERFUL RICH HANDSOME" GUY WHO WILL KEEP SAVING THEM.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH JERK HE IS, HE WILL OVERNIGHT BECOME THE BESTEST MAN IN THE WORLD *** FOR HIS WOMAN ***
there is nothing wrong with liking this concept, and practicing it in real life, that is what love is supposed to be, BUT this drama makes it happen WITHOUT ANY CHARACTER GROWTH.
ML is 12 yrs old and just discovered hormones, and FL is 3 yrs old small insecure weak powerless child. AND IT STAYS THAT WAY. Ep 9 starts with that and there is only 12 episoded.

ZERO CHARACTER GROWN IN ANYONE, EP 1-8. **** ZERO. **** THAT IS A MAIN PROBLEM WITH THIS DRAMA

====
I will quote review from Oppa_: " FL lied — and that is wrong. But she lied because she felt she had no power. Meanwhile, the ML acted out of entitlement, confidence, and the authority he held over her. Those are not the same type of wrongdoing. One is a survival tactic; the other is a conscious use of power."

But this is only the tip of the iceberg.

The iceberg itself is enslavement and exploitation of women that went on for thousands of years. FL and ML in that drama are symbols of that era and that thinking.

The Asian flavor of it is a chaste damsel in distress.. Western version is a Barbie Doll s@x toy damsel in distress.. So Western media always uses and abuses filling the movies and series with explicit s#x... This drama has too many s@xual scenes - kissing or trying to, and some bed scenes that are TMI imo. This cheap stuff sells...

This drama imo combines the worst of asian version of patriarchy and Western media cesspool...

Patriarchy ruled the earth for thousands of years and basically enslaved women, 50% of population, into being slaves, working for free stuck inside home, without any money and power to control the resources. This is done so that 50% of population (males) has control of 100% of resources. THE BASIS OF JUSTIFYING THIS IS THAT A WOMAN IS TOO DUMB AND WEAK AND POWERLESS AND EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE TO EVEN SURVIVE.

Early humans were matriarchal societies, apparently, so this patriarchy started somehow... I am sure this started somehow relted bc a man has 7 times more muscle power than a woman of the same size....
indeed a man fights better with lions and indeed can haul a deer home and build a house fast... and indeed can fight intruders and indeed can provide some good s@x... so probably some horny woman let her darling take over the bed and then out of complacency let him "take care of it all for her" ... or maybe some strong guys defended their clans and thus became leaders....

and then the guys took over and matriarchy was GONE. Women became slaves. Glorified slaves LOL Glorified domestic animals... praised for producing children (aka more soldiers, work labor, and connections and influence) and for working non-stop to maintain males who just show up to rule and enjoy the privileges

IN THE PATRIARCHAL WORLD, A WOMAN IS INDEED OFFICIALLY POWERLESS... SHE IS PROPERTY OF HER FATHER AND THEN HUSBAND.... AND SURVIVES ONLY IF A MAN IS HER FRONT.

AND WOMEN RESORT TO CUNNING AND S#X TO GET WHAT THEY WANT AND NEED. bc that is the only path available. And men are thus afraid of women... and there is a huge distrust on both sides... And women fight other women in this never-ending fight to find the male who will be THE BEST ONE to protect them...

So basically we are talking animal behavior, just more complex.

But it is actually a LOT more worse bc... both men and women are manipulated and exploited. Men are taught to be cruel and heartless and emotionless bc... they too are used as pions... they are the soldiers and henchman of the elites... they are the dogs that work for the elites... without blinking an eye, they destroy and die ... at war or corporate desk.... they are bland, empty WORKER / SOLDIER ROBOTS .... ...

and women are slaves who act and do all the care, kindness and nurturing, and restore and maintain these robots... Women are slaves who act as psychiatric nurses, who do all the work producing, raising and maintatining robots, who do all the daily care, feeding, chores, that is necessary to produce and grow new robots and support and maintain the operating robots.

IT IS LIKE A FARM, OWNED AND RUN BY SOME EVIL PPL who make sure that all the robots and slaves never communicate and always distrust and harass and cheat each other, trying to rise to the top levels of robots and slaves... never letting each other escape, always dragging each other down back into the hell...

Basically, someone owns a tank of crabs, uses them as food, and fuels their instinct to drag each other down into the cauldron

And meanwhile, someone on the top pulls all the strings and abuses this army of animals they roped in to work on their behalf, That someone on the top is wealthy and privileged and manipulates the masses - since these robots and slaves are totally easy to manipulate. DK audience comments demonstrated that soooo well...

And DK is all about that. It hits all those key point of patriarchy,
As you said, ML is controlling, cruel, rich, entitled, etc totally devoid of feeling
and FL is irrational, dumb, spaced out, powerless, loser, emotional, etc AND SHE SOFTENS THE HEART OF THAT MAN AND THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

That is the dream, the illusion of all slaves and robots stuck in this hierarchy All those loser women fantasize they can stay a flawed character and get a super sugar daddy to take care of them and adore them no matter how immature and flawed they are,

and all robots fantasize how they will get a stupid but sexy and kind slave who will take care of them and provide fun - s#x, attention, care, etc that will recharge them and keep them going

STUPID MEN LIKE DUMB WOMEN. THEY ARE EASY TO CONTROL

DK plays on all these tropes and that's why I called it 1950s but it is really... 1200s attitudes LOL

Beso Dinamita didn’t fail — it was consumed exactly the way it was written

Last Review:
Beso Dinamita starts as a charming and refreshing rom-com, but gradually collapses into the most overused K-drama formula.
What begins with natural chemistry and promising characters turns into forced drama, amnesia, hospital scenes, instant forgiveness, and conflicts with no real consequences.
The script chooses safe fantasy over emotional coherence, flattening character arcs and recycling tropes until the story itself no longer matters.

A strong beginning, an increasingly mechanical middle, and a finale that confirms it all:
the fantasy matters more than the story.

⭐ 1/5 — and that single point exists only for the first episodes and for Moo Da-vi.

First Review:
“You think Dynamite Kiss is just another ordinary K-drama? Another predictable cliché?
It isn’t.
This drama is actually built like a classic Hollywood rom-com from the 1940s, 50s and early 60s.

The moment I realized it was in Episode 2, during the beach scene:
the wide shot, the illuminated ocean, their silhouettes against nature, the soft violins, the gentle lighting on their faces.
This is the visual language of old Hollywood, when cinematic distance meant emotional vulnerability.

Films like From Here to Eternity, An Affair to Remember, Roman Holiday, Letter From an Unknown Woman and The Long, Hot Summer used this exact grammar: romance told through space, light and silence.

And then there’s the female lead.
Ahn Eun-jin isn’t playing the typical K-drama heroine.
She embodies a classic Hollywood archetype.

She has Barbra Streisand’s energy —Funny Girl, What’s Up, Doc?—
and the spirit of Marilyn Monroe the actress, not the sex symbol,
the vulnerable and spontaneous woman from Bus Stop (1956) and Let’s Make Love (1960).

Simple, honest, emotional.
No poses.
No masks.
A natural light that melts the cold male lead without even trying.

Watch those films and you’ll see exactly what I mean.
Dynamite Kiss is pure vintage romance disguised as a modern K-drama.”

The perfect nod to its big sister!

Oh wow, I was so late to game with this, but it did allow a 4 day binge between late nights and work and I mean that! ( I ran to that even for 15mins between jobs!)and what a way to end the year and start a new drama year. I absolutely adored this and have chuckled my way through this brilliant comic drama.
The modern My Dearest with just a pinch of 🫣 but cleared up instantly, it was the perfect antidote to all that my dearest heartache. I loved all the little nods to its big sister, from scenes like the toilet roll running towards him, her in the red shoes to the actors themselves not to mention THAT guest role…what was that?!!! But at the same time 🕺🏻🥳🥳
Oh I just loved this!

I love Ahn Eunjin

The Dynamite Kiss scene was one of those moments that instantly stays with you. It wasn’t just about the kiss itself, but about everything that led up to it — the tension, the emotions, and the unspoken feelings finally bursting out. You could really feel how overwhelmed both characters were, like they had been holding back for so long and finally couldn’t anymore.

What made the scene special was how genuine it felt. It wasn’t rushed or forced; it happened naturally, driven by emotion rather than impulse. The buildup made the kiss feel meaningful, almost like a release after all the confusion and longing. It captured that feeling of young love — messy, intense, and honest.

The scene also showed growth in the characters. In that moment, they weren’t hiding behind pride or fear anymore. The Dynamite Kiss symbolized courage — choosing to feel, to risk getting hurt, and to finally admit what the heart has been saying all along. It was soft yet powerful, simple but unforgettable.

Overall, the Dynamite Kiss wasn’t just romantic — it was emotional, sincere, and deeply satisfying for readers who waited for that connection to finally explode in the most beautiful way 💥💗

Fantastic romcom chemistry

I have repeatedly said in my reviews that I take the MDL ratings with a huge pinch of salt because this platform is distinctively skewed towards younger viewers who love idol romance-melo dramas. Here I'm proved right again.

============Spoiler starts================
This drama has SO many tropes that I've lost count. Super handsome chaebol/rich male lead falls in love with very poor girl who isn't that pretty, except after he pays a lot of money to dress her up. Somehow he loses contact with her after a fascinating love-at-first-sight encounter and somehow she ends up in - no surprises - his company and works as his employee. They are continually thwarted by a rich girl he's force by his family to marry and his rich family. What happens next is no one's guess.
===========Spoiler ends=================

Such tropes are at least 25 years old, aka so last century. YET despite that, I am STILL watching this drama. Because the leads are great and their chemistry is SIZZLING. I have been following Ahn Eun Jin in all her dramas and even Jang Ki Yong. Despite his model background and stiff start to his acting career, he's improving by leaps and bounds with each drama. He still has a long way to go compared to Ahn Eun Jin but he is making good process. Of course, his pretty face certainly helps.

If this is even remotely like the very cheesy yet super fun Business Proposal that celebrated and really hemmed up such tropes, I am in for a treat! I am certainly looking forward to the rest of the season!

Another drama about lying and the consequences and misunderstandings that result

People in Korea must lie more than any other people on Earth because there is no other way to explain how viewers can just take at face value the notion that one might lie to get a job and then lie to all your coworkers, and this is not offensive behavior to viewers. No matter what comes later, the FL is a person of very poor character and judgement. Add to that the ridiculous scene where she is about to sleep with the ML but asks that he shower first, then gets a call while he's showering and then just runs away while he's in the shower with no word to him at all, leaving him worried and confused with no closure or clue as to what happened to her or why. That's psychopathic behavior but in Korean Drama-land it's just another Friday where ever single drama has to revolve around lying and the consequences and misunderstandings that follow. This is all the more sad because the show begins with her being honest and it is the reason the ML fell for her in the first place and for awhile was one of the most refreshing Kdrama shows in some time.
