Fantastic!! Not to be missed!

If you’re a CLOY fan this is for you!! No voting moment. Characterization esp ML is great! ACTING IS SUPERB! Funny and sad moments; leaves you wanting more and more after each episode! Great cliffhangers! Re watch value definitely a 10!! Do not miss this show. The story may be a bit too coincidental; many misunderstandings butt hats the cuteness of the plot. The male actor is so dashing - in all angles. And the FL is pretty enough but compliments the actor. Fantastic chemistry in every episode. This is one amazing series!!!

Lighthearted Fun

I'm more of a CDrama guy, but this KDrama hits the right buttons. However, let me warn you that one must give this drama some leniency in terms of plot. As others have mentioned, the premise behind their main misunderstanding in the first episode is one big, head-scratching eye-roll. I mean, the writers could have done better there. But they make it up by weaving stories of perseverance, comedy and redemption in the story arch of the charming and entertaining leads.

The romance between them is definitely crackling with chemistry. The FL gives off down-to-earth, relatable vibes while ML balances those GQ-perfect looks with a wide emotional range and charming goofiness as opposed to the old tired cold and always composed demigod who can do no wrong.

The first episode gets things moving quickly and crescendos to a banger in the end that, without giving it away, encapsulates the series' title in a tantalizing way. Let's just say that the leads' chemistry shoots to the roof here. Overall, this is a good lighthearted drama that has you cheering for both leads. I also love how they both look after their mothers and closed ones. It's a home run!

I'm sold. Edit 12/25

The synopsis hides no illusion on what this piece entails and I'm glad because it makes me less critical. I'm content to sit and watch. Only thing I'm not liking is the FL's eyes wide open in dismay/shock every 20 min or so. Kind of annoying 😅
I do find myself annoyed at her for stacking lie on top of lie on top of lie when ML's temperament shows he would most likely understand and forgive her if told the truth.

Edit
Completed. Again, np with this piece because they flat out told you what it would be. Award winning? Hell no. Entertaining but it's just a mid. The relationship on the side held more interest for me. If I was to truly harp on something, it would be that inferiority complex they like to instill in supporting cast members such as the half sister and/or other employees, that kind of thing.
This isn't a must watch as far as viewing but it can occupy few hrs if your truly bored.

The tenderness. The happiness. The wow factor. The tension!!

Spoiler free!!

The tenderness. The happiness. The wow factor. The tension!

Is definitely worth it watching at least this first two episodes.

We can see where the things are going, but the way is being presented is simply chefs kiss. I’m really enjoying the delivery of all these tropes. The references are nice and make sense. I can feel the build up and the connections between the characters by their storylines. Is exaggerated? In the same way is a drama, but the actions have a reason.

Seeing a healthy relationship is definitely awsome. The ~sharps and shreds is present because miscommunication and misunderstandings. But hey at this point, we are here for it!!

Can’t wait for the whole series to drop and update the review. To see if the grade will stand ;)

this web of lies

all caught up to Ep 8…, I’m so frustrated by all the lies. the amount of lying is over the top. Regarding the ML, if this were happening to me, and I finally find out the truth, I’d want nothing to do with all of them for ever. the FL’s lies to cover the original lie are unforgivable. there’s still several episodes to go. it appears the truth will come out very soon - how are they going to untangle the web of lies believably? I don’t hae this drama, but I feel there has to be a turning point soon toward the truth and reconciliation.

Such a sweet and hot rom com

Well done! My fellow reviewer is right, the story starts hot. And till now episode 10, the drama remains hot. Very unusual for a K-drama, however, also decently made and shown:-)

The story is a bit flat but enjoyable as it flows nicely and easy to watch. No big drama, simply a super sweet romantic comedy with two well known actors who have become leads in this drama. And they are wonderful together, great chemistry. The ML was already cute in NOW WE ARE BREAKING UP, but here, he is great. A new star! And we know the FL from THE HOSPITAL LIST, here, she has become a beautiful superstar with great comedian talent. Just to see the transformation of these two leads is a good reason to watch this relaxing melo. I am very sure that the story ends well and the temperature is kept high

Wonderful Romantic Comedy

I absolutely adore this and I only wish I hadn't started watching until all the episodes aired!!! I'll just start all over again.

One of the reasons I love Asian dramas is because they overall "appear" to adhere to old world values of chastity, fidelity, loyalty and all the long-lost beauty of love between a dedicated couple. Even though real life and "Generation-DO WHATEVER THE HELL YOU WANT NO MATTER WHO YOU HURT" creeps in on occasion, they give you hope of a special connection that cannot be denied despite life's challenges.

I don't always need a Nobel-prize/Oscar quality storyline. Directors and screenwriters can't reinvent the wheel everytime to satisy their most jaundiced critics, but they can continue to tell stories that touch hearts and spirits beyond borders.

Well done....can't wait to finish it. I hope it keeps doing what it's doing! ❤️

NO TIME TO WAIT, THE PASSION IS SO GREAT !!

Wow, the " Master of Romance" is back🥰!! I'm glad JKY returned to rom-com, as his last drama, "Atypical Family," portrayed a more serious and depressed role.

"Dynamite Kiss" is a welcome return to the romantic comedy genre that made Jang Ki- young a global favorite in shows like "My Roommate Is a Gumiho." This newest drama, in which he plays the "Ice Prince melted by a lie," truly gives his fans the charismatic, intense, yet sweet romantic lead we missed! The genre of "Dynamite Kiss" is exactly what I was missing for his rom-com return, showcasing his strength and making for a fantastic comeback for him in the romance department.

Again Wow, the first episode already gives the viewer an explosive dynamite kiss! The one that Jang Ki-young initiated definitely sealed the first episode with excitement and made us, the audience, engage and anticipate the upcoming episodes! The structure of having the major kiss happen so early is what makes Dynamite Kiss drama so compelling from the start. It's a great twist on the usual K-drama formula where you wait ten episodes for the first kiss. Both JKY and AEJ's chemistry is explosive🔥!!

The first episode does a great job of immediately setting up the main romantic premise and the central comedic lie. It's a series that focuses on the chaos and genuine emotion that arises when an impulsive kiss forces two people into a complicated situation, which I think will result in a secret romance later built on a misunderstanding.

I knew that some dramas that have passionate beginnings often lead to tragic endings, However, I have a feeling that
" Dynamite Kiss" is one of those few exceptions and will likely end happily. Its just my perception."Dynamite Kiss*" is a pure romantic comedy. Unlike melodramas, rom-coms are fundamentally more structured around a guaranteed
"happily ever after" (or at least a satisfying one). The conflicts must be external (the lie, the misunderstanding, the ex-rivals) rather than internal/existential (terminal illness, irreversible separation).

The title itself, Dynamite Kiss,
is the hook and the central
comedic premise. So it makes sense why the initial episode requires the passionate scene, as it is the punchline of the story. The tone is set for lighthearted fun, despite the high-stakes lie.

As for the female lead , Ahn Eon-jin is perfect for this character. She brings the perfect balance of sunshine, desperation, and quick-witted charm needed to make the entire premise believable and endearing. She excels at playing characters who are resilient and highly relatable, often facing real-world struggles (like job insecurity).
Her panicked energy and reactions to Gong Ji-byuk's intensity are the source of most of the show's comedy. She knows exactly how to play the frantic, lovable underdog.

While JKY brings the intensity, AEJ brings the warmth and chaos that effectively melts his Ice Prince facade. The explosive chemistry is a two-way street. She is an excellent scene partner for him who can match his dramatic flair with her own brand of charming spontaneity. She has truly shown her versatility in recent years in acting.

Jang Ki-young himself revealed in one of his interviews about this drama that there a lot of kissing scenes ( more than 10, maybe 20) and urged couple to watch and AEJ even rrvealed too that there was an uns ripted kissing scenes in this drama, a significant that the drama is prioritizing the physical and emotional intensity that make their romantic performances shine.

The production team explicity stated they picked JKY on this project because he is the perfect
" romance master" and expected him to spark a Dynamite Kiss Syndrome."🥰

I'm looking forward for the many kisses in upcoming episodes. And how both the main leads navigate each conscious, hidden problem—ML's dilemma of loving "someone's wife" and FL's dilemma of how much she can maintain her lie as a "fake" married woman with a baby for the sake of keeping a job.

10/10 for a starting episode, as it has a strong, vivid introduction!
