Somewhere Somehow: A love letter to WLWs
Somewhere Somehow is a A Wonderful Love Letter to WLWs. 👩❤️👩 It’s a love letter to every girl who’s ever loved another girl quietly, clumsily, but sincerely. It celebrates growth, communication, and the courage to love openly.1. 👩🦰 Characters
Pheem’s childhood was shaped by emotional inconsistency, a father who loved her, but was often absent and emotionally unavailable. That lack of warmth left her with a deep-seated fear of abandonment, always afraid that love could disappear at any moment. She grew up seeking reassurance, holding tightly to the people who made her feel seen. Kie became her safe base, her emotional anchor which explains Pheem’s territorial jealousy and tendency to panic at the slightest distance. Psychologically, she represents an insecure-anxious attachment style: loving intensely, but fearing loss just as deeply.
Meanwhile, Kie’s “tight-lipped” nature reflects an avoidant attachment style. She struggles to name or express emotions, often choosing silence or logic as a shield against vulnerability. Confrontation feels unsafe to her, so she withdraws instead. But as she matures, Kie learns that love isn’t maintained through control or restraint, it’s sustained through communication. By adulthood, she begins to express herself more openly, learning that putting emotions into words is an act of courage, not weakness.
What makes their journey so moving is how both arcs evolve alongside Pheem’s father’s redemption. Uncle Poj’s transformation from control to compassion, from authority to apology, provides the emotional closure Pheem needed. His ability to finally acknowledge her pain helps her rewire the same attachment wounds his distance created.
By the time we reach adulthood, both women have healed in different but parallel ways. Pheem no longer loves from fear, and Kie no longer hides behind silence. Their relationship becomes what healthy love should be: honest, secure, and free.
Pock continues to be the unsung hero of this series. ❤️ She’s that friend who stays through the worst of it, the one who grounds the story in something deeper than romance. The way she helped Pheem understand Kie’s sincerity, and how Kie thanked her for all those years of quiet support, was just beautiful. Their friendship reminded me that love isn’t always romantic, sometimes it’s simply choosing to stay. She provided the social stability both Kie and Pheem lack. Her presence literally keeps both of them emotionally stable through breakups and reconciliations.
2. ✍️ Writing & Storytelling
The series perfectly captured each stage of life, the jealousy and awkwardness of school years, the messy communication of university, and the maturity of adulthood. The shrine scene? Adorable. The awkward tension before their first kiss? True to life. Even Pheem’s dad’s redemption was justified, rooted in love, not guilt. Unlike many romantic dramas, SWSH shows feminine emotion not as chaos but as complexity. Kie’s restraint is as valid as Pheem’s intensity. Their conflict resolution emphasizes empathy and accountability, not control. Their relationship, once insecure, becomes securely attached.
3. 🎶Production, Music & Editing
Every episode ran over an hour, yet it never felt long. The pacing was thoughtful, every beat had meaning. The editing truly deserves recognition for how seamlessly it connected their school years to their adult lives, especially, Episodes 9 and 11, stood out for me on how they mirrored the past and present. Like memories resurfacing. I especially loved how they reused the same song from their school days; it instantly brought back all those early emotions. It’s like time didn’t erase their connection, even after seven years apart, that familiar melody made it feel like nothing had really changed between them. I love how they used the OSTs to reflect of them “healing”, it’s like revisiting a memory under safe, new conditions so it becomes integrated instead of painful. The show’s visuals from the comic-style openings to the color grading are great too.
4. 🎬 FayMay’s Acting & Chemistry
Fay and May absolutely carried this series with their emotional range. What impressed me most was how distinctly they portrayed young Kie and Pheem compared to their adult selves, the shift was so convincing. You could see the difference in everything: their smiles, gestures, even their tone of voice. It genuinely felt like watching the same people grow up in real time. Fay and May were made for this. Their chemistry was so natural that you often forgot you were watching a show. The humor, the angst, the comfort, all of it felt alive. That argument & breakup scene scene in Kie’s room and argument in Japan (Episode 10), easily one of their best performances.
5. ✨ Lessons & Themes
Communication, family, friendship, consent, and growth lie at the heart of this series. Kie’s constant respect for Pheem’s boundaries showed what safe, healthy love truly looks like.
Overall: It’s colorful, funny, and unapologetically sapphic. When the credits rolled, it felt like saying goodbye to a part of my younger self, the one who once longed to see this kind of love
So thank you, Somewhere Somehow. For the laughs, the tears, the healing, and the love. This series isn’t just good, it’s a gift. 💖

Somewhere Somehow — Making Me Sob and Snort-Laugh Simultaneously
Alright, listen up — Somewhere Somehow is basically the GL series equivalent of that friend who’s lowkey perfect but makes it look effortless. Like, you don’t even realize you’re falling in love until halfway through and suddenly you’re all in.The romance? Slow-burn but so juicy it’s like watching a slow-cooked meal that’s totally worth the wait. The characters? So real and messy and lovable, you’ll want to call them your besties ASAP. And the chemistry? Honey, it’s electric enough to power a small city.
And those crying scenes? Prepare your waterproof mascara because this show will wreck you in the best way — tears, sniffles, the whole emotional rollercoaster. One minute you’re laughing, the next you’re ugly crying like you just watched your favorite pet walk away forever. No shame.
Plus, the soundtrack hits so hard I caught myself dancing alone in my room (again, no shame).
If you’re not watching Somewhere Somehow, what are you even doing? Missing out on the sassiest, sweetest, and most binge-worthy GL story around. Trust me, it’s everything.
Warning: May cause sudden emotional breakdowns and uncontrollable fangirling. Proceed with tissues and snacks. 🍿😭💅

If it weren't for Pock, the series would have flopped
Let me make it clear here, if Pock wasn't in the series, I would have dropped it right away. The protagonists are annoying, seven years pass and they still have the mentality of children, anything is a reason for a fight. How irritating! The old (poorly done) cliché of the couple who meet in school, date, and break up for the good of the other. It seems impossible for Kee and Pee to have an adult conversation in the series or to reason like adults. Seriously, a good conversation and this series would have been different. Is it so difficult for two people to make a plan to date long-distance in secret or something like that? Is it so difficult not to tell a secret but to sincerely apologize and ask for a second chance? Everything has a limit, and this series, FOR ME, goes beyond the line of funny and makes jokes about situations that shouldn't be jokes. But anyway... There's a lot of worse GL out there, it's still a good distraction.

if you still haven’t watched somewhere somehow, what are you waiting for?!
this series is absolutely beautiful!! such a feel-good show to watch. the cinematography, acting, production, script, and transitions are all so well done!the friendship between kie and pock is one of the best parts. you can really feel how deeply they care for each other, not just as best friends but like real siblings. pock’s support for kie was incredible 😭 total friendship goals. honestly, they might be the best friendship i’ve seen in a gl series so far.
and the faymay chemistry? 1000000000000/10. finally!!! they were able to show their chemistry here — something that didn’t really come through in dream gl for some viewers because of how poorly executed that series was. their scenes together are so heart-fluttering 😭 both of them acted so well!! natural, expressive, and completely engaging.
and those scenes where kie cries??? my gosh, fay was amazing! especially knowing that kie isn’t the type to cry easily, yet when it comes to peem, her emotions just overflow 😭 fay completely nailed the comedic timing too! her facial expressions whenever peem gets jealous are hilarious! and may’s crying scenes are on another level 🥹 when she cries, you can really feel her pain. she’s so good at showing raw emotion 😭
i don’t even see fay and may when i watch the show, i see kie and peem from the novel. they portrayed their characters so well and truly gave them justice 🥹
this series is so worth watching. there’s never a dull or boring moment (especially with pock and kie around lol!).

An "OK" comedy with several scatological jokes.
The story itself is interesting and has great comic relief with Pock; she's responsible for making the plot engaging. Without her, I truly believe the story would be very boring. The production is great, after all, it's Idol Factory. The secondary characters are very good, unlike the protagonists, who, in my opinion, leave much to be desired. Kee is nice, but Peem becomes unbearable after a few episodes, like a spoiled 3-year-old. I laughed a few times, but I wasn't moved by the plot, even though there were several (many, many) touching moments. The friendship between Pock and Kee is the highlight of the story; in fact, the best character is Pock. What bothered me most about the main plot was the personality chosen for Peem. I found her extremely spoiled; everything was a reason for her to get upset, and because of that, Kee constantly had to apologize for things like "greeting someone." The worst part is that when Kee apologized, Peem wouldn't forgive her, so the entire episode boiled down to: "Kee apologizing multiple times for 'greeting' someone." Not healthy at all. Kee isn't innocent either; after all, if someone rubs their breasts against you in front of your girlfriend and you do nothing, you're guilty, but most of the time she hadn't done anything wrong and Pee was upset with her.The things that bothered me the most: First) The way they sexualized Yumi. To me, it was completely unnecessary and wrong. We criticize anime so much for doing this to women, and now they do it in a "GL"? The girl was reduced to "I have big breasts, I'm silly, and I want to sleep with Kee"... I don't think that's cool in anime, so I'm not going to defend it just because it's a GL. She could be sexy and still be an intelligent and deep character like the others; after all, she speaks five languages, so why make her a sexist stereotype? I didn't like it. Another thing I didn't like was the scatological jokes about excrement, gas, vomit, and sex. What's so funny about showing a dog eating the characters' vomit? The worst joke for me was: "Seeing Kee and Pee on the phone laughing while calling Pock to hear her being intimate with her boyfriend"... I thought, "They're not going to make Pock answer the phone, are they?"... Not only does she answer, but she puts the phone ON SPEAKERPHONE so Kee and Pee can hear Pock and her boyfriend moaning! Was that supposed to be funny? I found this 2000s comedy shameful... The characters have very cartoonish attitudes, meant to be funny, but combined with the series' jokes, the impression is that the series is desperate to make you laugh, so it uses every type of joke that exists. It feels forced in the end.

love the nolstagic tracks featured in the series!
I think my most favourite thing in this series is the nolstagic Thai songs that were featured in the series during the early part of the show when both Kie and Pheem were still students (Kie with her Walkman haha). So appropriate and some scenes does make me laugh.Nam is officially my favourite supporting actress- never never fails to make LOL at many parts of the show.
Chemistry of FayMay is going strong, nothing to pick about that. i like how on the last episode that a special part was dedicated to the friendship of Pock+Kie and I thought it was a really nice touch, knowing how Pock is always there for her best friend everytime, and this series is not just about love but friendship as well.
looking forward for the next idol factory GL series!

A Must-See Thai RomCom GL
Somewhere Somehow is easily the best Thai GL rom-com I have watched so far. It is light, heartfelt, and quietly affecting, with humor that truly lands and gentle emotional moments that linger. The writing is sharp and sincere, and I found myself laughing one moment and holding my breath the next.As someone who loves soft, slow-blooming stories, this show reminded me of why I enjoy Mon Maw’s works, especially Loyal Pin. It captures that same delicate balance of warmth, longing, and sincerity.
Tinna Simapaisal crafted a screenplay that feels intentional and full of heart. Nothing is rushed. The feelings are given space, and it makes the romance feel real and earned. And FayMay are perfect as Kie and Pheem. Their chemistry is so natural and tender that even the smallest gestures feel meaningful.
Even the OST fits beautifully. It wraps each scene in just the right mood and heightens the emotion without overwhelming it.
It is honestly so easy to give this series a 10/10. It made me smile, made me feel, and reminded me how powerful a gentle love story can be. I am absolutely in love with it.

Excellent rom com
SWSH is honestly one of the best releases of 2025 fight me if you can. The quality is insane, the cinematography is absolutely peak, and FayMay completely nailed it. The visuals are stunning and those 90s songs syncing perfectly with every situation are top tier. The Pocky Gang friendship is one of the best portrayals of friendship I have ever seen. They have captured every emotion so beautifully. The way they portrayed love, friendship, and every relation is just excellent. I really love how they stick to multiple genres in every episode and not even a single one feels weak.
I genuinely do not understand why people are not opening their hearts. They are too drawn to fake chemistry to appreciate something this real. Anyway huge thanks to FayMay for delivering such a masterpiece. It is truly the GOAT. They didn't rush anything at all
I have never been a fan of any GLs until this dropped. It is my comfort show and I could rewatch it a thousand times and never get tired

It's So Unserious
I didn't know what to expect before watching Somewhere Somehow, as this was the first time I’ve watched a drama featuring Fay and May. However, I was excited because I saw it would feature Lookam in a significant role. The series is shot beautifully, and I'm especially a fan of the cinematography captured in Japan. As for the script, it was good but could have been better. I understand that the series is a comedy, but there were times when the story called for a more serious tone, yet the writers refused to let us sit in it; it was often interrupted by comic relief.
Although the series should have been more serious at times, I also believe Somewhere Somehow excels as a comedy. I found myself especially amused by the second of the season. The shining star here is definitely Looknam. The woman is a natural comic, and I fear that if they ever give her a GL pairing, we will not survive it. She is a gem of an actress, and I hope Idol Factory gives her a leading role one day.
When it comes to the leads, I believe they did a good job for the most part. Fay and May had good chemistry, which gave credibility to the characters they were playing. I will say, they do need to work on their comedic delivery, but this could be a directorial issue. Personally, I hope they let May be happy in her next role; they made her cry so much in this series. I know it had to be emotionally taxing to go to work every day. And yes, I know the constant crying was meant to illustrate the sacrifice her character was willing to make for love, but it was a lot.
If you are looking for a funny, cute, and beautifully shot series that does not take itself seriously, you will enjoy Somewhere Somehow.

I like this drama!!
It delivers a warm, fun GL romance with good chemistry, decent pacing, and charm. If you’re looking for something heavy-dramatic, this might feel a bit lighter than expected; but if you’d rather enjoy a comforting, sweet-with-a-twist show, this is a very good choice. If you give this series a go, keep an eye on the moments when the characters cross their emotional borders (from friend to lover), and how humour and jealousy are used to build connection. The “tight-lipped” motif of Kīrun is also a nice metaphor for how we often hide our feelings until the right moment.

This series involves the journey of the characters from teenagers to adulthood.
Best Thai GL series of 2025. Kudos to FayMay and the others who played their characters well. From episode 1 till the end, all the emotions are there. You will laugh, cry and fall in love every time. The scene transitions, background music, character portrayal, story and set up are amazing! It depicts not only the main characters’ love story but also of family dynamics and friendship. Worth rewatching!!!Was this review helpful to you?
U’re missing out if u don’t watch this
It’s honestly one of the best rom-coms I’ve ever seen. I’ve watched plenty of them, but never at this level of quality. The production value and cinematography are insane — the visuals are absolutely stunning, and everything feels perfectly executed. I was genuinely stunned because I didn’t expect it to be this good.I’m not even a FayMay fan, but this drama completely won me over. The character development over time is top-tier. Pheem’s growth, in particular, was written so well — and I don’t understand how anyone could call her character “stupid.” She loved Kie more than anything, and when they broke up, she was just 18. Nobody is that mature at that age; if she had been, there would’ve been no space for character development.
Honestly, I’ve grown alongside these characters. And Parade — it’s my first time watching her, and she’s so enjoyable to see on screen. Every character here is such a green flag. The story has so many layers, and my favorite part has to be Kie’s grandma.
FayMay’s chemistry is pure chef’s kiss. The love scenes are so smooth and natural. I seriously don’t understand why it has so few views — people really need to stop sleeping on it. This series deserves millions of views and every award out there
