Highchool cringeness
PLOTI've no idea how I didn't drop it after the 1st ep. Everything was getting on my nerves. But then I reconsidered the environment and the characters ages. I realized that it portraits high schoolers with love life drama. They try to follow the trends and be relevant with everything. Their ego is so high and their feelings make a party in their bodies every second. That's why it becomes so easily cringe. But I couldn't oversee it. Why was everyone chasing each other's tail to become a forced couple. I understand that they have crushes and they try to make them jealous all the time but at some point you should move on. There's a constant circle of who likes who. They're always on stand by, holding their hearts and getting broken. It's sad how long they can last on hold but also so surprising with how patient they can become. I'm a little confused on the way they flirt but that's bc I'm passed that age and can't relate that much anymore. Not that strange though bc we have experienced this social media connected love life in a different version.
CHARACTERS
Fou4mod and Chian were constantly getting on my nerves. This whole drama lasted 2 years between them? Took them so long to figure out their true feelings? Especially Chian that was taking for granded Fou4mod. And then we have Baa and Bua. Baa treated Bua unfairly. He messed up with his confidence. Criticized his look bc he couldn't admit his feelings when he clearly had developed for him. But he was in denial. He tried to stand by the choice of liking Fou4mod but failed. Everyone was taking the other person for granted and putting them on hold, just so that they won't be left alone. Losing their friends was a huge deal for them. I'm glad they figured out their true feelings and expressed without any more fear their minds.

oh to be young, stupid and in love
First I want to say that this was a wonderful series. I lately have had a fallen out of love with thai Bls but this series bought me back. I like the plot. Simple enough but also very complicated. I love how they incorporated latest trends in this series like reels, tiktok, random dances etc etc. Cuz it is a show about teenagers. I liked the characters so much, especially Fou4mod. These characters were all so messy and complicated but thats just the life of a teenager. I like the chemistry that they had with each other although I wasn't really digging Baa and Bua as much as everyone did but I still found them cute. The chemistry between Fou4mod and Cian was done very well. Even though they were both so messy, you can't help but cheer for them. Now the acting also was very good. I loved the sexsual tension they had on. It is definitely better than actually sex. This is the reason I think I come to like this series more. Thai Bls nowadays are always more about sex and less about tension. That I got bored of , it. So in conclusion, this was a really good series. Was this review helpful to you?
So realistic
I cannot stress how realistically this portrayed high school relationships so much better than the majority of BL shows, the drama, the messiness, the selfishness of teenagers making bad decisions for their own gain without thinking about others is genuinely so realistic for high school I'm actually so happy that this was made.It truly is one of the few shows that I can watch and be like "yeah... this would happen" Because legit the frustration I felt while watching whenever the characters would use each other or just make dumb decisions so that their own life/Love life could be better was like oOoOO so real for high school.
I really liked it! Super realistic! This show was really aesthetically pleasing too, loved all the nails, it got me to start doing my own nails more creatively so that's really fun!

Not your conventional BL, it's deeper than that
This was so well directed, scripted and filmed. The visuals are beautiful, the vibe feels like home: it brings comfort and discomfort. The story is original and realistic, which can be good and frustrating. I had so much mixed feelings during this show.I felt like I was inside the /real/ Thailand. It looked a lot more like where I come from (Brazil). Their routine, the subway, the trapphic, the city sounds... It all felt real and relatable. The gay representation was so naturally put, cause they had the gays just living, making TikToks, painting nails, listening to POP music, dancing in street contests, going to concerts, skating, having friends. We didn't have to care about whether homophobia was a thing.
This show was just about a few teen boys, some confused, others knew exactly what they wanted, others were too afraid of anything and others too emotional. It's just part of reality. Too many feelings, feelings that are full of complexity. Feelings that make people treat others without affective responsability and end up hurting the ones they like.
It's frustrating because there's too much pain and confusion. One second things seem fine, then you realize one is using another. Everyone of these 4 boys get hurt at some point, and half of them do stuff you just can't agree with. At the end this is just a bomb of complexity in relationships between teenage boys (who tend to be extreme) and it's not about shipping the couples that are "supposed" to be.
I thinks we're supposed to appreciate the beauty and ugliness in relationships and it's diverse feelings and the behaviors that come with them.

Unique but not for everyone
Gelboys is set to take a unique approach to BL. The reception of this series among the BL Shia Community has been quite mixed. While many viewers lauded the series for its captivating visuals, distinctive aesthetics, and striking compositions, others found it challenging to connect with the characters. Some fans appreciated certain aspects but struggled to understand the characters' motivations, leading to a feeling of emotional detachment from their journeys. One viewer described the characters as cold and distant, exhibiting a lack of emotional depth. Additionally, the pacing of the series has raised some eyebrows, with critics noting inconsistencies that affected the overall experience. Although the plot had the potential to stand out as unique, opinions varied on whether it delivered compelling intrigue; some felt it was well-crafted and believable, while others disagreed. On a positive note, many applauded the production quality, deeming it among the best they had seen.In summary, Gelboys has received mixed feedback, highlighting that while certain standout scenes may attract viewers, essential elements like character development and narrative consistency might fall short for some viewers.

My honest thoughts on GELBOY'S the series!!
Highlights:✔ Chemistry between the leads – The romantic development feels natural and is filled with sweet moments.
✔ Humor and lightheartedness – The series has many funny scenes that create a relaxed atmosphere.
✔ Visual aesthetics – Beautiful cinematography and appealing settings enhance the overall experience.
✔ Soundtrack – The music perfectly complements the mood and enhances emotional scenes.
✔ Strong start – The first half of the series is engaging and well-paced.
Strengths & Weaknesses:
At the beginning, I was really invested in the story, but around episode six, something changed. I started feeling more annoyed because the timeline was never really clear. Sometimes only a couple of days passed, and then out of nowhere, it had been weeks, and at some point, even months. It was very hard to keep track of where we were in the story. I wish they had added some timeline stamps to make it easier to follow along.
While I enjoyed the first few episodes, the later part of the series became pure chaos, with too much drama unfolding all at once. From one scene to the next, suddenly one character liked this person, and then out of nowhere, they liked someone else—it was too much. The pacing felt rushed, and some plot points could have been developed more smoothly.
That being said, GelBoys is still a really well-made show, and I do recommend watching it. It is definitely worth it, but I wish the ending had felt less rushed and more satisfying. A bit more time to wrap up the storylines would have made a big difference.
Characters & Acting:
I was pleasantly surprised by the series—I really liked the acting; it was so good! The lead actors deliver convincing performances. The main leads portray their roles authentically and have great chemistry. The supporting characters also add vibrancy to the story and provide entertaining moments.
Verdict:
GelBoys is an entertaining BL series with a well-balanced mix of romance, comedy, and drama. If you're looking for a series with lovable characters and a heartwarming story, this one is definitely worth watching!

not for you if you can't see things for what they truly are
shot entirely on an iPhone, the visual storytelling is outstanding. what particularly intrigued me was the use of long takes and prolonged silences which isn’t just stylistic, it’s emotionally resonant. these lingering moments, compelled me to sit in the discomfort and watch the characters’ inner emotional shifts unfold in real time. absolutely captivating.Set against the vibrant Siam Square and graffiti-laced alleys, the show thrives in spaces that scream youth, rebellion, and unfiltered self-expression. And that makes me wonder that these settings aren’t just aesthetic choices, they reflect the internal landscapes of the characters, the rawness of adolescence and the turbulence of finding oneself.
ITSAY was lovely but i daresay this might just be kuno’s finest work yet.

I want to get my nails done now
This was honestly such a surprise for me, it came out of left field and blew me away. The editing is crazy good, I was literally grinning throughout the first episode because it looked so good T-T It's probably the most memorable aspect of the series, and it adds a lot of value to it. I pray to God they never fire their editing team. The acting is good! They all cry a lot and do fairly well, though it was a bit excessive at times for my taste. But they have great chemistry, so no complaints there.
I think overall the story is quite... simple? But messy. Like, all four of the protagonists are fucking idiots, braindead, no thoughts, head empty-- which is what makes the plot interesting. I liked that they all messed up and had flaws that made them more dimensional.
My favorite ship is hands down Baabin and Bua, and it's not even close. They're so cute, even if I wish Baabin had taken less time to recognize his feelings for Bua. Chian and Fou4mod are great together, but there's soo much drama between them that by the end I just.. didn't care as much? Idk. But the tensionnn during the first episodes was crazy good.
Really cute! I watched it all in one afternoon. I have more screenshots than I'd like to admit. I am now significantly more stressed than I was before. But I'd definitely recommend, and as a matter of fact, I have.

Worth giving a try
You'll like this drama and relate with it on personal level if you are a college/highschool student with a fucked up and messy love life (which everyone has had at some point atleast). I loved how they integrated the impact of instagram, tiktok and spotify on the lives of the characters cuz its infact true that this shit impacts a lot of us. If you have watched ITSAY and IPYTM, then you can easily tell that they are directed by the same person (the use of different versions of ost's, the crying scenes, complex relationships, characters who need therapy, mixed emotions and the relatableness ofc).About fou4mod's character it feels like everything in this bl is collateral damage created by him and the funny part is he did all this unintentionally lol. okay i get him, we all have been there, in his shoes, and we may or may not have acted like him so its ok but what he should've done was learn from mistakes, like not go back to chian again even if he begged to him like his life depends on it (that's how you should do it!!!).
About chian (sighs deeply) i tried to understand him and i could but only to some extent so i wont say much 🙄
Bua and baabin were really the victims, i like how they got together at the end, they can truly fix each other ( i hope) and i dont think chian and fou4mod's relationship gonna last until and unless they get some help!
you can watch this drama if you want to relate to your life (make it a bit extra messier version), it might get hard to watch at some point but the ending is okayish (i truly wanted none of them to end together and find their happiness with some body else and move on from this incestuous-love squarish-friendship)
What i liked about the drama:
- the vibe and aesthetics (those were 10/10 for me, very new and fresh)
- the ost (also 10/10 one of the reasons why i watched this drama lol)
- i liked how they used different versions of red flag (the ost) to depict different emotions, it shows the depth of the scenes and gives it more value so ye
- the acting (the actors did a great job and some scenes very really top notch)
- relatable (lol)
- those pretty pretty nails ( it makes me wanna get my nails done aswelllll)
What i didnt like:
- the drama really felt flat in midway and it was hard to keep watching at some points
-they could've handled it better (but they are teenagers so its okay)
-no real growth (all the characters had their messy conclusion which seems like wont last for long and they'll get tangled in some mess like this sooner than we think)
-teenagers self destructing again and again (like fr)
- ending was lowkey rushed, they could've balanced the episode more nicely
It gets a 8.5/10 from me
Sorry for the long reviewwww!!! 😅

I'm pleasantly surprised and now I need to get my naild done lol
Wha...?! I actually ate this up lol nothing mindblowing but that was so much better than I expected. In all categories! Acting, characters, script, visuals and all. These kids are messy alright lmao but I was just so entertained. The way it was shot was definitely indie vibes, but it didn't feel "in your face," it just looks really good to me. The shots from the scenes when they're outside are my favorites. I'm not from Thailand but from a southeast asian neighbor lol a lot of it feels ~familiar~ I guess because it seemed like they didn't staged these external locations. Obviously, the show had a vision with the aesthetics of it all, the kids' rooms, outfits, their bags are just sticker galore which I loved. The use of technology and social media to tell the story was fun too even though it also made me feel really old.m, the tiktoks and all. Boy, were these kids recording and filming everything lmao makes me feel like I don't have a phone addiction. The kids just simply like getting their nails done aspect of it all is so refreshing and fun too. The nails are so cute too, I mean I don't know how they function with that but love!! 😂Anyway, these characters! Messy messy messy but also, I was just rooting for them lmao I feel like if you're gonna do a love square like this, it has to have compelling actors, characters and script and I don't know why, but I just bought it for the most part. It's funny to me how at the end of all that, Fourmod had the least cleaning up to do because my guy was just down bad with one person lol. The theme of "leading someone on (intentional or unintentional)" being one of the driving force of the story was frustrating to me at first but it made it more compelling as well. See, all these four had problems with communicating and expressing their emotions, they're young and immature, right? But let's be real, being vulnerable and confessing your feelings is hard even in adulthood, all the awkwardness and embarrassment and fear are there and I think the way they captured that here is why this worked for me. Let me tell you I feel all these four's heartbreak. Whenever anyone of them hears something that hurts them and they pretend they're fine?? The acting shines! I really felt for all of them whenever they're trying not to cry and the way these scenes were shot everytime, I'm just impressed. I gotta say, the actor playing Fourmod, New, got me choked up multiple times. I feel like a 16 year old getting broken up by her first love lmao pls but he's just really good at emotional scenes.
I was sure at one point, it's either no one ends up with one another OR it's a Baabin/Fourmod endgame. Honestly, I was rooting for them because I just personally liked that trope with Baabin, ya know. That friend who has always been there, it's "your loml is in front of you all along, idiot" vibes. But in the end, this ending isn't crazy to me either, I'm not mad about it. Maybe the Baabin/Bua needs more to convince me that they actually fell for each other but, it's fine. I really thought they'd just be Blinks bffs that would also make fun of the other two lol. But Bua's individual journey and growth has been my favorite. Also, was shocked that this whole story spans two years which I didn't realize til it was said? I love that so much. I think all of them did grow in the end.
I guess something I didn't like was the Faifa little storyline there but then again, I wouldn't get that scene of Fourmod posting that picture knowing Faifa would hate it. I love that scene because it showed again how terrible they are at communicating. He'd rather do that than just broke up with her. I mean that's so immature and wrong but that shit happens in real life.
Yeah, I just really enjoyed this lol

a rollercoaster of emotions
as much as this made me angry it also made me happy.i liked that at the end they finally TALKED and COMMUNICATED their feelings and worries. they understood each other and grew up as people. i'm honestly very excited about season 2 i hope things won't take a bad turn and they will keep talking to each other
things were so easy when they finally decided to talk, to let each other know how they truly felt
