Good Story with Good Acting.

First of All. I never Write review for any dramas till now and this is first review about a drama from me ig. The Reason is the low marks for this drama. The drama was engaging from the start to finish without feeling like a stretch and it was interesting.

The StoryLine is about a Rich Father with little time of life wants revenge against his daughter's killer by exposing their crimes. The MFL is chosen as a Bodyguard and left with the whole company's share for the said main reason and is hidden as a trap in a place or village for exposing the Villain agenda.

What I Liked

1. The Acting was really Good. All actors did brilliant job including the supporting actors. The Main Leads along with the character hye ji did a fantastic job on showing loneliness with a Lil bit of psychopathic tendency.

2. The Storyline didn't trail anywhere at all. It was steady but still gave few Comedy along with subtle romance.

3. The Action was okay and kinda realistic tbh. Most reviews said the Fl was shown strong but made to be useless. But The truth is that in knife fight, it ends once one gets a good stab and a person can only handle like 3 person at a time while fighting barehanded. And I was impressed the fl actually shot the killer as I was expecting the writer to halfass it like other Kdramas.

4. The Screen Play and cinematography are really Good and was nice to watch.

5. The Ending was happy ending for the fellow watchers like me who watch only if its happy ending. I liked how they ended the Last episode with a marriage of second couple with a good closure of main leads reunion.

6. The Portrayal of Real Death of the Chairman was done perfectly well the screenwriter and director by slowly building up the fact that he is actually dying so the audience don't have to feel too bad about him dying. But he rather died by exposing the crime by himself. I Loved that. And I also liked how in the middle episodes they shown subtle scenes like sound of shower or Soju in the room implementing the fact that someone(Chairman) still alive in the earlier episodes.

What I didn't like

1. Too Legal. Almost all the Kdramas has this troupe ( except the gangster dramas ). Almost all the problems in the dramas has to be faced legally while the enemy will do all the things under the table. I mean if you have money then you have to do it even as a safety measure to safeguard oneself.

2. Lack Of depth of love between leads. I only like the romance pact solely because of the leads who done the best job at showing their feelings without really saying it. It worked out well but it would've been bad or like shit if anyone messed up.

3. Lack Of Supporting Characters depth - this one is not really a problem since they showed proper depth of supporting characters like hye ji but they could've shown the fl childhood more and their father, mother along with the ML past. But Since it was really fast paced drama, it didn't matter but could've made it better.

Overall Its a really a good drama, not a masterpiece like WLGYT or WYWS or Mercy For none. But its definitely a Great drama like 9/10 drama

Met with the stairs to heaven, only to never use it.

High potential, low delivery.

Every now and then, a story you haven't quite seen before comes along. Familiar on the surface but riddled with a acute uniqueness the more you sit with it. Ms Incognito, a young woman marrying an old wealthy man for a promise of money--a gold digger--only to find out that the real wealth was with the people you love. It explored (or tried to) not only romance but also other forms of love just as or even more important.

It starts off with nothing but a contractual relationship between the Chairman Ga Sung-Ho and Kim Yeong-Ran. The age is gap is so large that their marriage stirs up something uncomfortable within you, it's not the usual plot you are used to. Yeong-Ran's aim first is money but then it becomes what's least important to her. She took upon a duty to help the Chairman, she sincerely wanted him to die happy. Both Yeong-Ran and the Chairman were similar, they both had family on paper but none by their side. They filled that void for each other, the Chairman saw his daughter in Yeong-Ran and Yeong-Ran saw in him the father she never had.

There are many parallels drawn in the series. Ga Seon-Yeong and Yeong-Ran were twisted somewhat reflections of each other. Seon-Yeong was woman so glamorous that everyone knew her name and Yeong-Ran was a woman so plain she went unnoticed. The both of them risked it all for money. The difference was that Yeong-Ran saw money as a path to happiness and Seong-Yeong saw it as happiness. Yeong-Ran grew selfless while Seong-Yeong grew more selfish each day. Yeong-Ran protected and Seong-Yeong destroyed. Both only experienced the cruelty of their mothers and the absence of their fathers. Both their mothers were money hungry. The difference was that one was at the pinnacle of wealth while the other was in the depths of poverty. Yeong-Ran escaped her shackles, Seong-yeong never even noticed hers.

Another parallel was between Muchang and Seoul, and Jeon Don-Min's (ML) house and the Chairman's house. Chairman's house was so big, so extravagant but so dark and soulless. Don-Min's house was small and simple but colourful and so full of life. Seoul the bigger, greater city where all the important events took place. Muchang the smaller, tiny town where almost nothing eventful happened. However, Muchang felt so much more full than Seoul. For Yeong-Ran who was invisible all her life, Muchang where everyone knows each other to the point that nothing ever goes unnoticed was what she needed. Muchang gave everything that Seoul couldn't give her. In Seoul, she prayed for money but in Muchang she prayed for love.

The cast and their acting was amazing. Jin-Young, through his role as Jeon Don-Min embodied comfort. He was simple and serene. Jeon Yeo-Been, completely different to her popular role in Vincenzo where she was undeniably bold became so plain here (in a good way). She played Yeong-Ran so well that you would have never thought that she was the same person that played Hong Cha-Young in Vincenzo. She had this subtle strength and carried herself so softly. I know that everyone expected a badass bold Yeong-Ran but this version piqued my interest so much more. She was a strong bodyguard and a soft person. I liked that contrast. The entire cast did a great job.

This drama frustrated me so much not because of something they did but because of what they could have done but didn't. All the relationships felt underdeveloped. The parallels had little to no impact in the drama because of the fact that the relationships that those parallels were built upon was not explored as it should have been. I firmly believe that this drama should have been at least 16 episodes, there was so much left unsaid. Yeong-Ran went from having a contractual duty to filial duty to the Chairman with basically no on-screen development of their relationship. Seon-Yeong's life was virtually unknown but so important to why she was the way she was. There was justifications mentioned but really no emotional reasoning to Seon-Yeong's actions shown on screen.

Baek Hye-Ji, acted so oddly but was accepted as a friend so fast and their relationship progressed so far that Hye-Ji cared for Yeong-Ran more than herself. They teased that Hye-Ji had a traumatic past of her own but never actually showed what it was. Since it wasn't shown, her random fascination with ballet felt so out of place and unnecessary. Even Song Tae-Min, why was possessed by ghost? How did Hye-Ji and Tae-Min even fall that hard in love so fast... Baek Hye-ji and Lee Don were classified as main characters but never had their stories explored. Why would Lee Don go to the extent he did for the Chairman. Just mentioning that it was because of a scholarship was so lacklustre. Even Jeon Don-Min's story was unexplored. They missed so much potential by not exploring the emotions of him and his son Ju-Won. It would given Yeong-Ran's romance with Don-Min so much more depth. I can say that not a single character got the development they deserved.

It felt more like a read through of a great plot than a viewing of a completed series.

Maybe the lack of a good script was due to the fact that Hyun Gyu Ri (screenwriter) was not very experienced. The direction was good in my personal view. Park Yoo Young directed both Kidnapping Day (one of my favourites) and Love Alarm 2 (another series I loved despite the popular dissatisfaction). I felt that it was the direction and the acting that salvaged the underbaked script. A good idea doesn't always mean a good product after all.

I hope that another scriptwriter would work together with this cast and do a revamp of sorts.

Despite all my criticism, I hope everyone gives it a try.

No connection between leads

Some positives and some negatives. The story held my interest.
Most of the energy in the script centered on the main conflict and the FL’s various problems. But the script just didn’t give the secondary characters, who were apparently supposed to be a group of lovable eccentrics, any good material to work with. The over-acting of the semi-hysterical principal, the scatterbrained dancer, the guy who was supposedly possessed by spirits, as well as some of others was painful to watch.

The male lead seemed warm and likeable, but the female lead was a bit cold and imperious. I didn’t feel much connection between the two of them. Couldn’t she have at least put her arms around him when they finally kissed? She acted as if she could barely stand to touch the poor guy.

By the way, teachers who specialize in early child education (kindergarten and pre-school) are committed, trained professionals, although no viewer would get that from this drama. A kindergarten teacher would never leave children unsupervised or allow random people to wander into the classroom. It would have been nice if we could have seen the FL actually teaching something (yep, there’s actually a curriculum) or doing something other than reading a picture book to the class–which any parent could do.

Not my favorite K-drama of the year.

Finding Light Beneath a Dark Past

Ms. Incognito stands out as a thriller that prioritizes atmosphere and emotional depth over spectacle. What impressed me most was its ability to sustain tension while remaining deeply human. Rather than relying solely on twists, the series finds power in restraint in silence, in stillness, and in the fragile connections between characters.

Jeon Yeo Been delivers a quietly commanding performance that carries the drama from start to finish. She communicates vulnerability and strength with minimal dialogue, making even the smallest expressions feel meaningful. Jinyoung provides a gentle counterbalance, bringing warmth and grounded sincerity that softens the show’s darker edges. Together, they create an emotional core that keeps the story engaging even when the pacing falters.

Visually, the series is striking without being flashy. The contrast between tense action sequences and serene rural imagery creates a mood that feels both uneasy and comforting at the same time. The direction trusts the audience, allowing unspoken emotion to do much of the storytelling a choice that gives the drama a reflective, almost meditative quality.

That said, the pacing isn’t always consistent. Some developments feel compressed near the end, which slightly disrupts the otherwise careful buildup. Still, the emotional payoff lands effectively, offering something more thoughtful than a conventional thriller resolution.

What ultimately stayed with me is the show’s exploration of identity, forgiveness, and the possibility of healing. It asks difficult questions without forcing easy answers, and it closes on a note that feels quietly hopeful rather than dramatically conclusive.

Overall, Ms. Incognito is a slow-burn drama that rewards patience. It may not satisfy viewers looking for nonstop action, but for those who appreciate character-driven storytelling and understated performances, it’s a compelling and emotionally resonant watch

Love me a competent cast!

Just have to say that there's something incredibly appealing about competence! The fact that this drama centres around the efficiency with which two characters fight power-hungry forces, had me so intrigued.

(I developed a tiny crush on Lawyer Lee Don, not going to lie!)

I love how it kicks off with a serious, dark theme, only to blossom into vibrant colours once Kim Yeong Ran arrives in the village. While some may feel that the plot slows down a bit, I found that it actually opens up, showcasing the richness of life. Life isn't merely black and white; it's a dazzling array of colours that shift depending on the people we encounter – and that's beautifully illustrated in Ms. Incognito.

The side characters added a delightful charm to the story, and I really enjoyed the diverse couples alongside the budding romance between our main leads. Honestly, I appreciated that the focus on their romantic journey wasn’t overwhelming, considering Yeong Ran was married and both characters had some healing to do – and they truly embraced that journey! The ending was just so heartwarming and fulfilling.

This drama also tackles significant themes like domestic violence, abuse, murder, drug overdose, and financial control. To me, it does a good job of depicting the serious consequences of these issues, drawing meaningful connections throughout the narrative.

Ultimately, I had a wonderful experience watching this show. It’s truly a gem – I highly recommend it!

I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but it was quite cool.

I like thriller/crime/revenge dramas. It wasn't too good but I think I'd give it enough credit. Good cast, plottwists were quite unexpected ones and I've liked the main actress' work before and this drama is not an exception. Although I agree that the storyline could've been better. For me personally the ending of the last episode could've been more romance oriented but it is what it is.

Ms Incognito is all set to resume her life. Her tenacity helped her in surviving all those impeccable ordeals.

After her life is endangered numerous times, and putting Dong Min behind bars, she decides to get back at her enemies. Her coordination with the Chairman changes, but things are impeccably harder this time. She needs to prove the innocence of Dong Min and get her life back.

It is a rare case scenario, when we get a kick in the ass female lead. Each and every week,Young Ran delivered a new layer of her. She is not a broken doll nor a hopeless soul. She clinches her fist and destroys every obstacle that tries to invade. She knows to protect her people. After Vincenzo, this is Jeon Yo Bin’s powerful performance that we have been protecting. After delivering back to back performances through Who is She, Sweet Home Series, Jung Jin Young nails as a doting father and soft man yet chivalrous man to Jeon Yo Bin’s fierce Ms. Incognito.

Sweet yet fierce tale. One of the best series of this year.

The old CEO has a magnificent Mondrian above his bed, one of his trees, grey, blue and black. Sublime. And a very, very beautiful Soulages in the living room, one of his lithographs, I believe.

Eat the Rich, the series. And on the side of the poor, unlike unbearable series like Succession. Here, it's enjoyable. Often funny. (Except for the strawberry guy's friend, he was never funny. I don't know if it's the actor, but you need to stop that right now, sir, there's only one Johnny Lever.) We love it when a poor girl that no one respects or notices finds herself at the centre of everything and shows all those jerks what she's capable of.

An excellent comedy thriller series, sometimes pushing the boundaries of what is morally acceptable (in episode 4, the heroine goes too far), but Baek Hye-ji is irresistible, like a cat playing with its prey.
When you're going through a rough patch, this kind of short series does you a world of good.

Nevertheless, we are once again faced with the trope of the only rich person in the world who does good around them. If these people really did that, they would make sure they no longer existed.
The police spend all their time following the news and coming to the homes of the rich to arrest them.
Psychiatry is shown for what it is : a tool at the service of the powerful. The slightest problem and quickly : it's my mental health, I'm not responsible. The poor don't get this preferential treatment. On the contrary, we are locked up with this same scam. (As a disabled person, I maybe have a little history with psychiatry)

The series surprised me with some beautiful framing at crucial moments ; the director knows what they're doing. In terms of plot twists, it was always entertaining and surprising. A fine piece of work. Well done, Korean craftsmanship ! Finally, the music wasn't bad at all, composed entirely using Spitfire Audio VSTi, I recognised it, nothing escapes me.
The editorial team (me) solemnly approves a potential season 2.

PS: As for the grandpa, I understood right away, thanks to my cosmic brain : the clues were so subtle that there was no doubt even without paying close attention.

Behind the Mask Lies Missed Opportunities

Ms. Incognito starts off with a pretty interesting idea—secrets, hidden identities, a bit of mystery—and to its credit, it doesn’t always go the predictable route. A lot of the time, the characters feel like they’re actually a few steps ahead, which keeps things engaging and makes the story feel a bit smarter than expected.

At the same time though, that consistency isn’t always there. There are moments where situations feel like they could’ve easily been avoided or anticipated, which takes away from the tension a bit. It creates this push and pull where the drama feels clever in some scenes, then slightly frustrating in others.

The pacing is also a bit uneven. Some parts flow well and keep you hooked, while others drag longer than necessary. Ironically, for a story that sometimes stretches certain conflicts, it also feels like it could’ve benefited from being a bit longer overall—especially to properly develop certain aspects.

The romance, in particular, feels underdeveloped. It’s there, but it never fully grows into something you can really get invested in. A bit more focus and build-up would’ve made a big difference and added more emotional weight to the story.

The characters are still enjoyable to follow, and the cast does a solid job with what they’re given. Even when the writing isn’t at its strongest, the performances help keep everything grounded and watchable.

Visually, the drama is clean and polished—nothing that really stands out, but it fits the tone and does its job well.

Overall, Ms. Incognito is a good, easy watch with some genuinely interesting moments, but it doesn’t quite reach its full potential. It had the pieces to be something more memorable, but settles somewhere in the middle instead.

Verdict:
A solid watch if you’re in the mood for something light and mildly intriguing, just don’t expect a fully fleshed-out story.

Rewatch Value:
Low — more of a one-time watch unless you’ve got nothing else lined up.

not bad

The first two episodes were really good. It might have been disappointing for some, but not for me. It needed to change its identity. Yes, the drama has many flaws. It's not perfect, but I still enjoyed watching it. I don't think I'll watch it again, but it's not a bad drama to be insulted. First of all, Jeon Yeobeen and Jang Yoonju's acting was excellent. I loved the cinematography. And the OSTs were pretty good too. How can you give it 1 star? Oh, there are seriously so many bad dramas. I liked it.

The series' beginning was fantastic. The first three episodes were actually superb. I was excited and intrigued while watching. But by episodes 4 and 5, I decided I couldn't watch the series anymore. The reason is the oversimplification. A naive, what we might call stupid, maid is made to do things no one else could do. For example, after the President dies, Lawyer Lee fires the staff at his mansion. He keeps only this naive maid. I think it's because of her naivety that he leaves. But this naive maid constantly appears next to the lawyer, appearing in unlikely places, following him, listening in, and taking recordings. The lawyer remains completely unsuspecting. Supposedly, this lawyer has devised a grand plan to protect the president's wife. He devises a plan to be discovered on the day he is to be declared heir apparent. Such a big-minded person can't see what's right under his nose. This naive girl wanders the mansion, searching everywhere. She finds the secret room. She locates the president's wife, the intended heir apparent. She goes there, sees the president's wife, and begins staying with her. There, she rummages through the belongings on his island, discovering the hidden plan she's hatching. She also opens her suitcase, which has a combination lock. She sees everything. On top of that, she's there when the President's wife goes to the village, and for some reason, she sees her, follows her, and sees her sending emails. She even reads whose email it is. The scriptwriter makes her find things that even the police and mafia couldn't find, including the President's children. He makes her do this. I think this woman was chosen as the primary enemy of the President's wife, the one who will oppose her and cause her trouble. It's so obvious. Seeing so many flaws in one episode made me abandon the series. You can't have such a simple and cheap script. It made me tired. It made me stop watching. I was thinking I was watching a great series, but it turned out so badly. I was upset. It had an interesting plot, and it started off well, but it couldn't be sustained. It seemed like everything was already clear. It's unheard of for one person to be given so many roles. The actor played this naive girl beautifully. Congratulations to Joo Hyung Yang. The other actors were also very good. I especially liked the lead actress, Jeon Yeo Bin, Seo Hyun Woo, who plays the lawyer, and Jang Yoon Ju. Moon Sung Geun, who played the President in the beginning, also gave a great performance. But I'm not watching it. I don't recommend it.

Is Ms Incognito worth the watch? Yes and No

Let me explain, the plot was so promising, before it aired I was looking forward to it, I mean a female bodyguard entering a contract marriage, that's a plot I don't think I've seen, so I binged the first two episodes once they came out cause I was super excited but after episodes 1 and 2, I was already a bit unsure, we barely got to see her be a bodyguard and we barely got to see her be in a contract marriage but I was still hopeful.
Come episodes 3 and 4, I realized the main focus of the drama wasn't about her being a bodyguard or being in a contract marriage and when I came to terms with that realization I started to enjoy it a little, it was a bit disappointing I'll be honest but you have to just move past that
So once you get over the fact that the plot is a bit misleading, I'm sure you can like the drama
Pro tip: Don't think too much when watching it, just go with the flow, it's not a serious drama, there are some decisions the characters will make that'll just make you question your own intelligence but don't think about it too much
