I See The Intention But... Such A Wasted Opportunity
I've never tried writing a review before but I'm watching BL's for over three years now and I wanted to try writing it. So please bear it with me.Dare You To Death was one of the tough ones to watch it. Writing in this series is... well to put it kindly: childish, sloppy, unprofessional. I understand the intention when they produced this series. But, my god the story just kept getting worse and worse each episode. Irrational behaviours of police officers, stupid decisions of the victims, jarring tonal shifts from romance to "mysterious" murder scenes... The list goes on and on. Firstly, writer/s clearly did not know how law enforcement bureaus work because the errors that have been made during solving the cases is just stupid. Knowing the potential victims but not providing them protection, not asking for a full autopsy report for the first deceased, or even not interrogate the suspects/victims fully in a police station is wild. And these things I mentioned here is just a glimpse. Anyways, there is so much to talk about the script of this series; but if I get in to that, it'd be full on spoilers so I'll cut it short here. It's just full of many illogical things that doesn't even cover up other story plots and left us with a whole bunch of mess.
The acting very surprised me. In my opinion, we saw the potential of Dunk's acting in Heart Killers. He was really good in that series. But unfortunately, Joong kept getting the same roles over and over again which is a very boring caracter type for me, we couldn't see his acting range. But in this series, I believe he really outdone himself. both Joong and Dunk. They both play different characters from their previous works which is refreshing. And seeing Joong in a character that can actually show emotions was really nice. Their acting really carried this series.
If I really have to say something about the music, its just boring. GMM has stock music/sounds to play in certain scenes. And they used those musics so much that using it here too is just feels lazy at this point. Also, the production quality was a mess either. Especially for a series that's been produced for Netflix. The audio issues were jaw-dropping. The editing that caused tonal shifts were horrific. At one point, It felt as if the production team didn't like certain people who were involved in this series so they tried everything in their power to ruin this show. And clearly they succeeded.
It's such a shame that these good actors were wasted in such a sloppy series. The only reason I gave this show a high overall rating is the acting in this series.
As I said in the beginning, this is my first attempt to write a review. I know probably not many people will see this review but if there are things you want to discuss or just talk about the series, let me know so that we can discuss it.

Truth...or Dare? If its for Dunk...yes just yes.
The thirst for Dunk grows! The man just keeps getting broader shoulders and a more snatched waist, damn. This show was a fun time, I enjoyed the mystery aspect of it. It actually was more brutal than I thought it would be too! Though I think the romance could've been stronger, even though Joong and Dunk's chemistry is still strong. I think because I've seen stronger crime mystery BL's this one didn't hit as strong as it could've.Was this review helpful to you?

JOONGDUNK SUPERMACY?
First of all, I'm a die-hard Dunkjang, and this is my first time writing a review. Also I will be judging as a novel reader. Basically just the differences between the series adaptation and the novel which is normal but still want to let you guys know1. I completed the novel before the series aired and WOW the brutality and the tension was tensioning so hard and I was thinking how would gmmtv pull it out, the last 2 episode saved it I think. The plot twist was literally everything.
2. A very big clapback to those haters saying "Dunk Natachai can't act" well he can, very well at that and he portrayed Novel Kamin perfectly. His acting skill developed and I'm proud of my baby💋
2. Well, even though I love joongdunk so much I have to say that JadeKamin focused more in building up their relationship than on the case. As a novel reader, I didn't liked it. In novel their relationship starts wayy later and more smoothly. No hate but the script writer and director should have thought about this.
3. My biggest complain: Dr. Tankhun. GMMTV, YOU DIDN'T NEEDED TO DESTROY THIS CHARACTER T_T. In novel, he was a goofy man and rather Encouraged Jade to keep chasing Kamin, while in series we see him flirting with Kamin instead! What a glow down!
4. In novel, Leo was a foreigner guy. I love Aou sm but they could have at least dyed his hair brown...
5. In novel, both Jade and Jay hits on Kamin and Jay met Kamin before, I'm really sad we missed that on-screen.
No matter what, as long as it is JoongDunk, I'm here. I'm so obsessed with all the OST, specially "Dare you to love". If you are thinking if this drama is worth your precious time, in 90% of time I'll say yes, as long as you don't know the spoilers beforehand. And joongdunk haters can stay away🥕 thanks for reading!

Power Production
Before watching the show i did not look up the writers and directors but this show has absolutely fantastic people working on it and you can see it!I was mostly impressed by the writing. Usually a lot of GMMs shows have plot holes that bother me a lot. Here, they try to avoid them and i think it works perfectly. Also, the characters are written with so much more charm and attention to detail and the actors are very well directed.
They tried to be creative with the shots. You can see the amount of takes and effort this production put in. There were moments when i replayed a shot just because it was so fantastic to watch.
As a horror-movie and crime-show lover, this was a strong start. I hope they are able to keep that level!

Dared to Death but not quite Daring
Right off the bat, it was quite smooth both in terms of pacing/cuts and the leads' wit/mouths. I liked how cocky Jade was and how particular Inspector Kamin was, and the natural, friendly competitiveness that sprang up almost immediately between them. They had fun banter and gave pushback for bad behavior. This duo made for a good buddy-cop type of dynamic, which is my jam.
However, fight scenes could be awkward, and I do think it took a little too long for the stakes to be amped up. Not to mention, they spelled some clues/events out more than they needed to, in my opinion. An air of mystery is more attractive, you know? I think if they had thrown in some fake-outs and leaned into heavy deception toward the audience, that would have improved things massively.
Now, the finale didn't make or save this drama for me, but it did kind of earn it some brownie points for how crazy-chaotic/fun it got.
Overall, a good effort on the part of the production. It was just lacking in some areas.
In other words, it has issues, but I still liked it. Whether you will as well, depends . . .

A Promising Crime Drama That Prioritizes Romance Over Plot
This drama had a lot of potential, especially with its combination of crime and romance. The main couple has great chemistry, and their romantic storyline is engaging and emotional. I genuinely enjoyed their moments together, and their relationship is one of the strongest aspects of the drama. The emotional connection between them feels natural, and it’s clear that romance is something the actors portray very well. However, the biggest weakness of this drama is its imbalance between romance and the crime storyline. Since the drama is built around serious crime events, including multiple deaths and dangerous situations, I expected stronger tension, emotional weight, and more realistic reactions from the characters. Unfortunately, the crime aspect feels underdeveloped and sometimes overshadowed by the romance.
One major issue is the characterization of the police officers. Their roles feel too light and lack the seriousness expected from professionals dealing with life-and-death situations. They do not carry the emotional or psychological weight that should come with their responsibilities. This makes it difficult to fully believe in the world of the drama.
Another problem is the emotional realism of the characters. Many characters experience tragic losses, including the deaths of close friends and family members, yet their reactions feel minimal or almost nonexistent. These moments should have been powerful and impactful, but instead, they pass too quickly without proper emotional exploration. This weakens the overall storytelling and reduces the intensity of the crime narrative.
There are a few characters, like chereen and Bell, who show more realistic fear and emotional response, which makes them feel more believable. Unfortunately, most of the other characters do not show the same depth, which makes the overall character development feel incomplete.
The drama is not confusing in terms of plot, but emotionally it feels disconnected. Important events happen, but the characters do not always react in ways that reflect the seriousness of those events. This creates a gap between the story and the audience’s emotional experience. And last episode is sucks that is why i had to reduced stars.
Overall, this drama succeeds as a romance but falls short as a crime drama. The romantic storyline is strong and enjoyable, but the crime elements and character development lack depth and emotional weight. With stronger character writing and a better balance between romance and crime, this drama could have been much more powerful and memorable.

JOONGDUNK ATE AGAIN
I love JoongDunk's chemistry. They are incredible!!The story was good and the acting from the entire cast was amazing. I simply loved how the case developed with every episode, yet the mystery lasted until the last moment.
I really liked that even with such a heavy plot, full of murders and crimes, JoongDunk made everything feel light and fun to watch.
And AouBoom, what can I say about them? The scene where they appear was definitely my favorite. Seeing JoongDunk and AouBoom together again was so comforting. I wish there had been more AouBoom scenes.
About JoongDunk's relationship, I really thought it would be an 'enemies to lovers' type of thing. In the beginning, there was some rivalry, but it moved past that very quickly. I honestly thought they were going to hate each other for more episodes. Anyway, I loved how their relationship was built. It had intense passion and lightness at the same time.
Overall, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!

A murder mystery where you don't feel bad for the victims
I'm always excited for another JoongDunk series and this one didn't disappoint! I loved the mystery of this show a lot! The group of friends was so unlikable, other than Jay, that even though I wanted the killer to be caught I wasn't ever upset that these awful people were dying either. Jade and Kamin were such likeable characters! They obviously had fantastic chemistry as well! I can't wait to see them in another series together! Was this review helpful to you?

Another Joong & Dunk drama. Of course here I come… quite excited for this actually…The story centers on a series of mysterious and gruesome deaths that follow a sinister game of "Truth or Dare."
A student named Puifai dies unexpectedly after a night of partying with her close-knit group of friends. While it initially looks like an accident or overdose, the investigation reveals a much darker reality.
Two law enforcement officers with clashing personalities are forced to work together: Captain Jade; A sharp, slightly cynical officer. And Inspector Kamin; A newly transferred, highly principled inspector who often butts heads with Jade's methods.
The Deadly Game: As Jade and Kamin dig deeper, they realize Puifai's death was just the beginning. The victims' "friends"—who call themselves "The Avengers"—are being targeted one by one. Each death is preceded by a "Truth or Dare" challenge that forces the targets to either reveal a shameful secret or face a fatal "dare.”
That's pretty much the story without giving anymore spoilers. Now what I like and don't.
What I like:
+ Joong & Dunk chemistry is never a miss. I'm glad they keep their partnership
+ Interesting story, but unfortunately very poor implementation. A little crazy, but I quite like the surprise of the real culprit.
What I don't like:
- Stupid plot. They really forget the first rule of investigation. Police can't investigate people close to them, to avoid tampering with the investigation. And it's clearly Jade's brother who is one of the suspects, and yet he is still very much involved with the case.
- The story of how Jade & Khanin become together seems planned. We know they will be together, but the way to that ending just feels planned. If we don't know the ending, it will not be obvious.
Overall just watch this for your fav actor/ess….

“JoongDunk Carried the Show — And the Rest Delivered Too.”
Before I even start — can someone please explain to me why Joong Archen Aydin is so clingy to his Natachai bro? For God’s sake. It’s driving me insane. And tell me honestly — was he even acting as Captain Jade? Or was he just enjoying himself a little too much in every scene?
Oh wait. Am I fangirling again?
Fine. Let’s start properly.
The story begins when Puifai dies after a night of partying with friends. What looks like a simple case quickly becomes complicated. New police inspector Kamin and Captain Jade — who clearly don’t get along — compete to uncover the truth behind her death. But as the investigation moves forward, so does their undeniable attraction.
And that’s where things get interesting.
The mystery itself isn’t overly complicated at first glance, but it slowly unfolds in layers. The tension between Kamin and Jade adds fuel to the plot. Their rivalry, their sharp exchanges, and that simmering chemistry? Delicious.
The investigation keeps you curious, while the romance keeps you hooked.
And yes — JoongDunk carried a huge part of the show. The chemistry felt natural, intense, and sometimes suspiciously real. But to be fair, the other aspects — the pacing, the mystery build-up, the supporting characters — were solid too.
It’s not just romance. It’s thriller, tension, ego clashes, and attraction wrapped into one.
And honestly? I might have come for the plot.
But I stayed because certain people ( I mean Joong Archen Aydin and our Natachai bro 🙂) refused to act normally around each other.
That’s it.

Best JoongDunk series
I was really shocked when i started watching it, because if i have to be honest i wasn’t really sure about how gmmtv will pull this one out. The plot and the storyline is really interesting and it keeps you invested in the story. The actors did really good job i like the fact that dunk finally got to have a different role and i think he did better than ever. (improved a lot just close that damn eyes when u kiss). I didn’t give this drama a 10 cuz i think the ending was rushed. 12 episodes would be fire especially with this type of plot. Overall It’s really good i hope we get to see more dramas like this! Was this review helpful to you?
