Before watching the show i did not look up the writers and directors but this show has absolutely fantastic people working on it and you can see it!
I was mostly impressed by the writing. Usually a lot of GMMs shows have plot holes that bother me a lot. Here, they try to avoid them and i think it works perfectly. Also, the characters are written with so much more charm and attention to detail and the actors are very well directed.
They tried to be creative with the shots. You can see the amount of takes and effort this production put in. There were moments when i replayed a shot just because it was so fantastic to watch.
As a horror-movie and crime-show lover, this was a strong start. I hope they are able to keep that level!

Dare You To Death Delivers a Dark and Addictive Crime BL Experience

Crime, forensics, murder cases, and police dramas have always been my obsession, so the moment this genre was combined with BL, I was already sold. Adding JoongDunk into the mix made it even better. Seeing them return on screen as police officers feels absolutely right. From villains in The Heart Killers to police heroes, the transformation is satisfying to watch. Joong and Dunk look incredibly good in their dark, understated police looks, proving that police without uniforms can be just as commanding and stylish on screen.

Their initial meeting was such a fun and ironic moment, with one police officer issuing a fine to another officer. You could immediately tell that Jade, played by Joong, was experiencing love at first sight with Kamin, played by Dunk, even while handing out the fine. Honestly, it felt like he did it on purpose just to get Kamin’s licence and have an excuse to know his name and address.

We have seen JoongDunk in different genres before, and while The Heart Killers leaned into darker themes, placing them fully in a serious, crime driven story still feels like a refreshing step forward. From the very first episode, the tension pulls you in and never lets go.

The storytelling so far feels confident and well paced, with a moody atmosphere that perfectly suits the forensic and police theme. The acting is consistently strong, and the emotional weight behind each scene makes the story even more gripping.

Overall, this series feels polished, intense, and thoughtfully executed. It delivers exactly what a crime focused BL should be, suspenseful, emotionally charged, and addictive. If it continues at this level, Dare You To Death is easily my favourite GMMTV series currently airing.

“JoongDunk Carried the Show — And the Rest Delivered Too.”

Before I even start — can someone please explain to me why Joong Archen Aydin is so clingy to his Natachai bro? For God’s sake. It’s driving me insane.

And tell me honestly — was he even acting as Captain Jade? Or was he just enjoying himself a little too much in every scene?

Oh wait. Am I fangirling again?

Fine. Let’s start properly.

The story begins when Puifai dies after a night of partying with friends. What looks like a simple case quickly becomes complicated. New police inspector Kamin and Captain Jade — who clearly don’t get along — compete to uncover the truth behind her death. But as the investigation moves forward, so does their undeniable attraction.

And that’s where things get interesting.

The mystery itself isn’t overly complicated at first glance, but it slowly unfolds in layers. The tension between Kamin and Jade adds fuel to the plot. Their rivalry, their sharp exchanges, and that simmering chemistry? Delicious.

The investigation keeps you curious, while the romance keeps you hooked.

And yes — JoongDunk carried a huge part of the show. The chemistry felt natural, intense, and sometimes suspiciously real. But to be fair, the other aspects — the pacing, the mystery build-up, the supporting characters — were solid too.

It’s not just romance. It’s thriller, tension, ego clashes, and attraction wrapped into one.

And honestly? I might have come for the plot.

But I stayed because certain people ( I mean Joong Archen Aydin and our Natachai bro 🙂) refused to act normally around each other.

Hey Daddy

If you are one of the Dunk haters spewing nonsense about him getting too muscular to be a bottom, seriously go eat zucchini. Dunk is looking hot and giving Daddy vibes with his face-card that absolutely never declines, and we are here for it. I'm not 100% sold on the plot, but the twist is likely going to pull it all together in the final 2 episodes. Joong as a sulky baby top is so cute I just want to eat him up. The music is banger after banger and with the additional cast of Fluke, AouBoom, and our sassy BL princess Sammy, I'm confident in recommending this one to any Thai BL lover.

IMPOSSIBLE TO LOOK AWAY FROM

I was honestly anticipating this series for months now. So basically its a group of college kids meeting for a night of fun. One unfortunately passed away that night. It might have been because of substance abuse, malice, or may even be a normal death.

So in came Inspector Kamin. Recently moved to Thailand from the US. He was immediately assigned to the case, where he will be in what we call a Hot-Seat, due to the popularity of some of the kids parents. Kamin is hot, very handsome, talented, strict, a rule follower, takes his work seriously and all-work no-play kind of guy.

He was partnered with Capt. Jade the complete opposite of him. Jade takes life as it goes, easy going, very friendly with lots of contacts both internal and outside the station. He is very fun and doesn't believe in taking work home once a day is done. He's also very good at his work though it may not seems like it due to his cheeky character. Jade will be Kamin's No.1 subordinate.

Though the two met in an unfortunate circumstance. Jade definitely took a liking to Kamin (we saw it on his not so subtle facial change, lol.) With his brother involved as a suspect, Jade and Kamin must work together to find out what those kids are hiding and perhaps prevent other 'incidents'.

What i did not like is the use of firearms in in a situation that's not required. I was also surprised of the friends reaction to one of their owns' death. Goes to show that this series will uncover more than we bargain for.

The contrast between Jade N Kamin's personalities, has created scenarios that are both amusing and emotionally engaging. DYTD highlighted a mix of high-stakes action and romantic banter. The allure of easy money and the blurring lines between law enforcement and criminality.

DYTD deeply entrenched in the drug trade for personal gain, blackmail or power. The powerful duo, JadeKamin, has to navigate through all these in order to protect their own and solve the case, whilst staying true to themselves.

DYTD is very important to Joong and Dunk + their friends. The casts has done a lot of workshops, worked very late in the night and came back again first thing in the morning. Dealing with exams and other events at the same time must not have been easy. The dialogues throughout the series is seen to be very hard especially for Dunk Natachai. Yet they surprised me by delivering beautifully.

I wish them luck in their new series and wish for many people to come and support these young people. Give Dare You To Death a chance.

WTF

I’m not going into details because I could write for an eternity but if you really think this is a great show and have given it more than 5 stars…. I have no words for you cause you don’t have any respect for yourself.
The acting, directing, writing, dialogues, intense scenes, romance scenes, editing, all are very poor. Even the injuries and how they magically heal or only hurt for flirting purposes!
The policing is a whole other story, nothing is getting done, Kamin and Jade just show up to numerous murder scenes and have made 0 effort in solving this crime, I mean they only spoke to the 1st victim’s mother in ep 6 !!!! I’m no police but I know that’s usually the first thing you do!
To summarise: I think there is a group of fans who see this show as a weekly virtual fan meet: even if there were no dialogues they would be extremely happy and even admit they’re “only here for JoongDunk” and rate it 10/10 and call any criticism a”hate” comment and essentially prevent anyone ever getting better at their job because of their extremely low standards.
And then there is a group who is constantly getting hate for demanding better value production, solid storylines, and convincing acting. This is where I am. And based on my own experience of show business and having studied actors, directors, writers and producers and their approach to every new project, I can honestly say not only this show is very poorly done but is also problematic in terms of its representation of the Thai Police Force and investigative teams.
I honestly think production companies (specifically gmmtv as they have the highest output) need to reconsider the value of their work, please don’t think we’ll support everything just for the sake of the main couple. If I’m paying for my netflix and giving you an hour of my time every week, you need to show me you deserve it and appreciate it. Watching DY2D was a big insult and I’m genuinely annoyed by how gmmtv sees fans ….
We are better than this and so are most of your artists. Treat us as such!!!!!!

Really needed better balance between romance and case solving

Couldn't hold myself back, had to add a review. Damn over the years i love how their acting has visibly improved. Especially Dunk during hidden agenda and star and sky u could see his acting was kinda... awkward and not very natural but then in heart killers he just killed it and here he is killing it😌

I really love how their roles switched from FadelStyle haha. I love how Jade is more like style here flirty & sly and kamin is rich cold boy who's not falling for any of his tricks 🤭🤭 so we're doing great on the romance side

As for the suspense, murder mystery side. I think we're going good here too cz i am curious and kinda regretting watching it on air😭😭

Edit: that's how i started watching this drama but I'm disappointed. I'd not watch this show if not for JoongDunk. I feel the balance between romance and suspense is totally off. For 8 episodes the case has barely showed any progress. The police says they wanna save the kids but they never try🙃. They always show up after someone dies. Okay you don't have permission to protect them atleast ask an informant to tail them or something. The worst part is an inspector's brother is involved and he got no idea about his brother meeting his friends or not coming home for a night. Soo many people died in a short time span this case should on top priority but they're taking their own sweet time. The kids are dumb for not informing the police about the dare letters when all their friends are dead. Any normal person would know they're gonna die too so better get help. Also champ why tf is he scared? He can just hire gaurds and protect himself idk the avengers gang seems dumb the police doesn't care... I'd prefer if they had a better balance like dramas like "laws of attraction" or "goddess bless u from death". gmmtv just sucks with suspense i guess cz it was the same with melodies of secrets but that was slightly better than this.
