First impression: unafraid of heavy themes, yet filled with warmth and tenderness
The long-awaited return of PerthSanta in Love You Teacher really couldn’t have come in a more vibrant way. GMMTV finally seems to be having fun with its visuals, leaning into a color palette that actually matches the energy between the leads. The premiere mixes that familiar light, school-life humor with a surprising emotional weight, and it works better than you’d expect. One of the highlights of the episode is the art direction. The details in the sets and costumes are not merely decorative, but help build a sense of warmth that welcomes the audience from the very first minute. It’s nice to see the studio investing in stories that, while keeping the beloved clichés of the genre, dare to explore more refined visual and emotional textures.
The performances are another big win. Perth delivers a beautiful portrayal, proving that his dramatic instincts remain as sharp as ever. His moments of vulnerability and tears are genuinely heartbreaking and convey the exhaustion of someone trying to balance the roles of boyfriend and caretaker. Santa, meanwhile, moves with a magnetic gentleness between the different shades of Solar and his seven-year-old self. The duo’s chemistry carries the rhythm of the episode, allowing the shifts between laugh-out-loud moments and waves of emotional distress to feel organic rather than forced, like fragments of a life shared in all its complexity.
Of course, the premise of age regression (Solar’s mental “reset” after the accident) requires a certain suspension of disbelief from the audience. The show’s neurological logic may feel somewhat creative to more skeptical viewers, but the script makes the smart decision of establishing that the relationship already existed before the trauma. That choice protects the integrity of the narrative, steering clear of uncomfortable questions about consent and instead focusing on what truly matters: the resilience of love in the face of adversity and the emotional toll of caregiving. Some details surrounding Solar’s personality shifts still feel a bit hazy, and in typical GMMTV fashion the editing occasionally flirts with mild confusion. Even so, none of it diminishes the appeal of the story that is beginning to unfold.
In the end, Love You Teacher premieres with the promise of becoming one of the highlights of the 2026 season. It is a series unafraid to touch on sensitive topics such as mental health and the weight of adult responsibility, yet it does so without losing the tenderness and bright warmth its protagonists radiate. If the remaining nine episodes maintain this same level of technical and emotional commitment, we may be looking at a new classic of the genre. For anyone searching for a story with heart and polished visuals, the show’s very first Saturday already proves the wait was more than worth it.

SERIES OF THE YEAR ALREADY!
From the very first episode, this series feels like the show of the year! Perth and Santa's acting is simply top-notch, and the directing is also amazing: the visuals, color correction, and dialogue are stunning! I experienced so many emotions during the first episode; I cried several times, laughed countless times. It's been a long time since the industry has seen such a well-crafted, vibrant, and heartwarming series, one that makes you believe in the characters' true and powerful love and affection!I want to say something. A huge problem with many romantic series is that the director and actors are rarely able to convey the true affection and love of the characters. For example, you're watching a series, two characters do crazy things for each other because they "love" each other, and you (the viewer) sit and don't understand where this "enormous" love came from; it's not fully explored! In this series, from the very first episode, the characters' CRAZY affection and love for each other is clear, along with the fear of losing each other, the fear of not being there. They managed to show in the first episode what many can't do throughout the entire series. Moreover, the theme of the series is SERIOUS! Yes, there is comedy, but the psychological theme itself is very significant here! Superficial viewers won't immediately see and understand it; some need a lot explained and put into their mouths, but here everything is crystal clear: Pobmek's character has been deeply traumatized since childhood by his own mother, and Solar is the only one who understands him, accepts him, and loves him without any "buts." And then Solar suddenly suffers psychological trauma (beware, this isn't something a basic doctor, not a psychiatrist, would notice). Pobmek is panicking, he's scared, and Perth really captured this fear of "losing" him. There's so much here... I'm really curious what awaits us next!
I hope this series becomes incredibly popular!

Again very very overhyped...
The problem with many thai shows is, they try to wrap very dark themes into a comedy and I don't like it. Not everything must be funny or everything must have a cushion to protect the viewers from sad realities. And why is "Sammy" always cast as a comic relieve? Her friendship (and the friendship of the other teacher) would have had so much more impact if this role would have been serious. For Santa this must be have fun even when he had to portrait two characters. I would think this is a challenge actors gladly take to improve their acting overall. Also Perth did a good job. Production quality was high, at least there was nothing to complain about.
I had my troubles getting into the series... the start was very weak but the longer the series run the better it got. That's a big difference compared to many other GMMTV shows which start strong and then falling off a cliff. But it's still not enough to hype this series to a 9 or even 10... For me this show is better than average but still not good enough. It could have been so much better but as usual GMMTV fails to put a serious drama on air, especially when such a theme comes with the warning of the start of every episode and a help line for people in mental duress.

Worth to watch!
This series is worth to watch, trust me 🥹 even though it’s just 2 episodes in, but I guarantee you can already watch the value of this series. The cinematography of this series is also insane, the acting, the soundtrack… all about this series is just sooooo perfect! 🥹🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻Was this review helpful to you?
Truly Something New
Love You Teacher is a show that I think really tries something new in a way that definitely pays off! I think a show like this dealing with the complex topics that it covered could go very poorly, but this show actually handled everything really well. I also LOVE that the plot had really nothing to do with the romantic relationship between the main couple - they have already been together for seven years, and there's truly nothing that could come between them. It's about these two characters trying to figure out how to navigate this sudden change in their life.Pobmek (Perth) and Solar (Santa) have been together since they began college, and are now both teachers at the same school. Solar is one of the school's best teachers and clearly loves the kids; Pobmek probably couldn't survive teaching elementary school kids without Solar. One day, Solar is hit by a car on his way to work, and while physically mostly unharmed, he wakes up as seven year old Sun. Pobmek has to navigate not only teaching kids at school, but also caring for Sun at home. Every other day, Sun wakes up as Solar instead, with no memory of what happened during Sun's day. Pobmek, along with other teachers at the school, have to try to figure out a way to get Solar back in control.
I LOVED this show. While of course the main story is about Solar/Sun, I think they do a great job highlighting Pobmek's struggles as someone suddenly needing to care for his partner. The exhaustion and guilt that follows is so well done and really made Pobmek's character feel real. Also, I felt that the way they handled the whole Solar/Sun thing was actually super well done - not gonna lie, I was quite nervous going into this show because of this. I do think they could have benefitted from a bit more explanation, especially towards the end of the show when the viewer learns about Sun's past, but overall it was handled well. Plus, Perth and Santa will always deliver on the chemistry between their characters, and I am really glad that they made it a point to be careful with their relationship during the whole Solar/Sun switching problem. Like I said, all of these issues were handled way better than I thought they would be. I also thought the pacing and ending of the show were super well done. Since most dramas focus on the couple getting together, I found this to be a nice change of pace with the couple already together and navigating hardships as a team. This one is super refreshing for it's unique themes, but definitely on the more emotional side, so absolutely worth watching if that's something you like!

Therapy? No thanks, I've got a guitar
With a nice cast made of competent actors and a good production value, Love You Teacher had what it takes to be an enjoyable and even refreshing show, but the whole thing is brought down by its excruciating idiot plot. For those of you who don't know, an "idiot plot" is basically a storyline that it's kept together and progresses exclusively because everyone involved in it is an idiot, and this series is the epitome of it. The general premise of the show is the sudden age regression of Solar and the way Pobmek and his colleagues try to deal with it. The thing is, Solar's conditions stems from childhood trauma, and as such it should be dealt with caution, specifically with therapy, a psychiatrist, medicines even. Instead, after a single time Pobmek brings him to a doctor (for, like, three minutes of screen time in the whole show), science and medicine are completely discarded in favour of idiotic ordeals in order to both deal with Solar's job on one hand, and Little Sun' infuriating behaviour on the other.
The most baffling aspect of this whole narrative are the reactions of everyone who gets to deal with the situation. Pobmek, Jee and Sodchuen are the core idiots of the show and I can suspend my disbelief for them (kind of, I suppose). I could also try to understand the children's acceptance of their own teacher suddenly acting like a seven years old as some sort of educational role-play (not really, but they are children, let's try not to put that much reasoning into their behaviour). But the other teachers? The kids' parents? The school administration's representative? Everyone finds out that a man with serious psychiatric issues is teaching kids and then acting like a child every other day and after five minutes of moderate concerns every one just accepts it? Isn't there anyone in this show who's not a complete lunatic? The most outrageous reaction though is from Solar's mother, who finds out about her son's condition and decides to completely ignore the situation for more than half the series, mother of the year here. Finally, as a brief off topic, how is Pobmek allowed to teach without a license? Who put him there? Hello, police?
Each solution they find to Solar's problems is dumber than the previous ones, and the most outrageous one is using Solar's obviously traumatic response to a song to make him sleep: way to deal with mental health issues. Also, as a side note, Solar's behaviour regarding the whole situation is idiotic at least, infuriating at most. "We should not treat Little Sun as a nuisance, he's just a child" (non verbatim): well, sir, maybe you should seek professional help first and then you could start preaching about problems you don't even get to experience because you are not there to help. Unsurprisingly, finally, the problem is solved in a sudden and unsatisfactory fashion, no therapy involved, obviously.
Storytelling idiocy aside, the production value of the show is quite remarkable, with very nice colouring and clever aspect changes between present day and flashback scenes. The acting is quite strong, especially from Perth (he brought this whole show on his shoulders honestly), Kai and Sammy; Santa was good too, but the fallacies in his characters did not help making him stand out. The best part of the story was definitely the representation of the friend group, while it was kinda lacking on the romance side.
As a whole, Love You Teacher is a decent enough show, whose main issue is just how serious it tries to be: I can generally suspend my disbelief, but I draw the line at treating mental health issues with a guitar.

Pobmek, Solar and the ray of Sun ☼
Sometimes in the rush of being an adult, we often exclaim how great it would be to be a child again, carefree and happy. But maybe as adults we do tend to romanticize aspects we don't really recall or don't want to recall. And then we realise that that child had just as much to deal with as an adult self does, and maybe it's not so bad that the only thing we remember is the happy image of that kid. Wouldn't hurt to emulate them at times either.I did not expect it to get that philosophical or emotional, but I'll be honest, the series did take me on some strange kind of discovery journey, even if I didn't want it to.
Emotional revelations aside, it's weird when a drama surprises you in the aspects you expected it to disappoint, but then ends up dissapointing you in other aspects anyways. No, I'm not going to pretend the constant switch between an adult man and a seven year old child did not freak me out, from minute one to the last second, it absolutely did. But honestly, what should've been the worst part of the show was one thing that was handled decently. Not great, but decent.
From the outset, this was a strange concept for me. Your boyfriend reverting to a younger age but constantly switching between his two identities is something that needs to be handled with care and sensitivity, especially since with the implications of something traumatic underlying all this. For that part, they handled it well. It was never a one and done deal - because Solar constantly reverting to Sun, and Pobmek's reaction to all of it was a huge part of the story.
Even their romance was well done - mostly restricted to the audience seeing flashbacks of how they met and fell in love, because the present is mostly scenes of Pobmek with Sun.
The series talks about a lot of things besides Solar's past and Sun's identity, delving in Pobmek's past and his relationship with his mom, adult friendships, hardships of being a teacher, the difficulties in relating to children, even pressure that children face. So much, they discuss and bring up so many things and it's both wonderful and part of the problem with this series.
When you talk about so much in the span of ten episodes, you can hardly dedicate a good portion of screentime to each individual topic. They come and go so fast that they never stick, each time an issue is brought up, it's resolved within the episode (rather unrealistically as well). And while much appreciated, I wish they would've done more with it.
But overall? This was actually a very decent series. I liked a lot of things they talked about, and most of how they handled difficult conversations. The cast worked really well together, every single character was extremely likeable and Perth and Santa's chemistry, as always, was incredible.
I would recommend this, it's a very nice, feel good show that is short enough to not feel tiring and is very easily bingeable. So give it a try, I'd say it's worth a watch :)

Learning to love through the chaos
What I appreciated the most about this series is that it never limits itself to just one emotional conflict. Even though the central situation between Pobmek, Solar, and Sun already carries a lot of emotional weight, the story constantly expands into other themes too, adult friendships, family wounds, the pressure placed on children, the exhaustion that comes with teaching, and even the difficulty of connecting with kids when you don’t naturally know how to handle them. Sometimes it almost feels like the drama tries to discuss too many things at once, which can make certain parts less focused, but at the same time that’s also what gives it depth. Perth and Santa’s chemistry really carries everything naturally, especially because they make the emotional and lighter moments flow into each other without feeling forced. One second the series is genuinely funny, and the next it hits you with something unexpectedly painful. I also ended up liking the entire cast a lot, every character felt easy to care about in some way. It’s definitely not a perfect drama, but it handles difficult conversations with a surprising amount of warmth and sincerity, and that made the whole experience feel much more meaningful than I expected. Was this review helpful to you?
