Great acting by gemforth
Gemforth are the perfect pair for this drama, gentle and soft, which is perfect for this storyline. Now that I know its based on a true story it hits more.
It's a shame there are only six episodes to this drama even if they are 55 minutes long.
It has a great cast and a great storyline.
I hope to see more of Gemini and Forth in dramas like this as they are a gentle pairing, it would be nice to see them in something with a bit more action and out of their comfort zone................

Heaviest series I watched
One series that proves the number of episodes doesn't matter. Imagine telling such a powerful story in just six episodes. So many emotions were shaken, and every episode left a lasting impact.I think everyone had been looking forward to this series ever since the teaser was released two years ago. My first impression back then was, "They're really brave for tackling the Catholic faith." I knew it was going to be controversial.
Let's start with the acting. No question about it. GemFourth absolutely nailed their roles. The cinematography? Equally impressive. Every frame felt intentional and beautifully executed.
What surprised me the most was that I rarely felt the usual "kilig" while watching. Instead, there was always a heaviness sitting in my heart. I felt so much pain for Tanrak because you could feel the weight he was carrying. The guilt, the fear, the confusion. Watching him question his faith was heartbreaking because that's one of the heaviest things that can happen to someone who has devoted his life to it. He wasn't just struggling with love. He was questioning everything he had believed in.
Episode 5 was probably my favorite. I was completely silent the entire time. For me, it was the heaviest episode of the series, and every scene hit exactly where it was supposed to.
And then the ending gave the answer I had been waiting for. No one can question another person's love. You can still love God while loving someone wholeheartedly. Those two things don't have to cancel each other out.
What I appreciate the most about Ticket to Heaven is that it never tried to paint the Catholic faith as the villain. Instead, it presented both sides with respect and compassion. It encourages understanding rather than judgment, and I genuinely hope more people watch it with an open mind.
This is one of those series that will stay with me for a long time. It definitely left a mark.

Absolute perfection, a true masterpiece
This show is a true masterpiece. This is easily one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. In only six episodes they were able to tell such an incredibly beautiful story. I was brought to tears and cried multiple times and I've never been religious, so I can't even imagine what it was like being religious and watching this. I could talk about it this show forever.Barth:
Getting to learn about his past, his experience with religion, how he came to the school in the first place, and seeing that grow into the man he becomes in the end was so beautiful. He went through so much. Seeing him reconnect with God after visiting his mom made me cry. Such a powerful moment when he looked up and prayed after visiting her. I loved Barth so much. He was funny, such a tease, kind, and so loving. I love how much he flirted and teased Tan without ever pressuring him into anything. He fell so hard for Tan and I loved seeing him go about that relationship given the time and where they were.
Tan:
Seeing his struggle with his faith and his sexuality was so heart wrenching to see, but so real. So many people go through the same or similar things, and it just felt so real. He broke my heart and made me emotional and cry multiple times. I loved seeing him learn about his feelings with Barth, it was so wholesome and again so heart wrenching at the same time. I was so happy when he got to talk to the trans woman because I think she really helped him get the clarity he needed. I loved seeing him go and talk to Father in the present day about everything and how understanding he was with it all. He was just such a sweetheart, so caring, so smart, and so full of love. His whole monologue at the end as well was so beautiful.
I loved seeing Barth and Tan's relationship develop. It was fun and playful yet so deep and powerful at the same time. I loved seeing them together 20 or so years later happily married too! Seeing them with their wedding rings, photos, and just their life in general was so emotional to see. I really thought the show was going to have a sad ending and I'm so glad it didn't and in fact was just a love story.
Gemini and Fourth absolutely killed these roles. I can't imagine anyone else as Barth and Tan. Their acting is some of the best I've seen. They both were able to convey the story perfectly and could say so much without saying anything. Before this show, I hadn't seen them in anything before, and this show made me want to see their other work. Give these guys an award for this!
The cinematography and lighting in this were absolutely incredible! The different lighting choices depending on the moods of the scenes, the different camera shots; everything about it was true cinema.
This show is just a true masterpiece, and I recommend it to everyone, but especially those who have faced religious traumas or struggles or is part of the LGBTQ+ community. I wish I could give this higher than a 10/10 because it truly deserves it.

I absolutely loved the ending they chose. Thanks for healing the trauma YNEH gave me, haha! :)The acting, the cinematography, the OSTs—every single thing about Ticket to Heaven is sooooo incredible. I do have one small issue with the background music, though. I think it would’ve been okay not to use it in some scenes. Still, it doesn’t really affect how amazing this series is. Insane. I’d love to watch it again for the first time.

Breathless, Beautiful, and Masterfully Acted—I Just Needed More Than 6 Episodes!
Ticket to Heaven completely blew me away. Everything about the production was incredible—the cinematography and the color grading were absolutely gorgeous and perfectly matched the heavy, atmospheric tone of the story. The absolute standout of this drama is the phenomenal acting and the undeniable chemistry between Gemini and Fourth. The tension between them was so palpable I could literally feel it through the screen. Together with the amazing soundtrack, their performances made me feel every single emotion right along with them. Tanrak’s intense internal conflict—trying to deny his feelings, trying not to "sin," and then ultimately giving in only to be consumed by immense guilt—was portrayed so beautifully that it was heartbreaking to watch.
I also loved how Barth’s character was structured. Even though he didn't really believe in God, he still tried his best to respect Tanrak’s relationship with his faith. Whenever they shared intimate moments, the way Tanrak tried to hold himself back had me holding my breath with my mouth covered. It was pure, raw emotion.
The only reason this is a 9/10 instead of a perfect 10 is that it was simply too short. With only 6 episodes, it left me begging for more. While I absolutely loved how they ended it by showing how they ultimately chose each other, the finale did feel a little bit rushed and slightly confusing because of the fast pacing.

Ticket to Heaven — When Love Becomes an Act of Faith
I was honestly nervous before starting "Ticket to Heaven". From the synopsis alone, I expected a painful story about religious trauma, guilt, and someone slowly losing their faith. Instead, I found something much more beautiful. This isn't a drama about rejecting religion. It's a drama about discovering that love and faith can exist together. The story never feels like an attack on Catholicism itself. Rather, it questions the idea that love between two people of the same gender should automatically be considered incompatible with faith. It reminds us that compassion, understanding, and unconditional love are values at the heart of Christianity too. That made the entire journey far more moving than I expected.
The romance is handled with remarkable sensitivity. Every conversation, every hesitation, and every shared moment feels genuine. This isn't a relationship built on physical attraction alone. It's about two people finding comfort, strength, and hope in one another while trying to navigate a world that constantly tells them they're wrong. That's the message that stayed with me after the final episode.
Love isn't about procreation. It isn't about forcing people into predetermined gender roles. It's about two souls reaching for each other, helping one another carry life's burdens and finding the courage to face the future together. Sometimes, absolution comes through the love we share with another human being. Gemini and Fourth deliver outstanding performances. Their chemistry never needs grand romantic gestures because they communicate so much through simple expressions and quiet moments. Every emotion feels sincere, making the relationship easy to believe from beginning to end.
I also appreciated the format. Six longer episodes felt absolutely perfect. A movie would never have had enough time to develop the characters and their emotional journey properly, while a twelve-episode drama would probably have stretched the story too far. Here, every episode has a purpose, and the pacing never feels rushed or repetitive.
One detail that also deserves praise is the makeup. Aging characters is something many productions struggle with, often producing distracting or artificial results. Here, it looked remarkably convincing. Rather than pulling me out of the story, it allowed me to stay completely immersed in the characters' lives. The production as a whole is beautiful. The direction, cinematography, soundtrack, and religious setting all work together to create an atmosphere that feels intimate, emotional, and deeply human without ever becoming preachy.
Final Thought
"Ticket to Heaven" is one of the most beautiful dramas I've watched this year. It tells a touching love story without sacrificing its spiritual themes, proving that faith and love don't have to oppose each other. Beautifully acted, perfectly paced, and emotionally honest, it's the kind of series that stays with you long after the credits roll.

The only drama I have ever felt compelled to write a review for…
I just finished this masterpiece and I just want to convey what this drama means to me.Not many BL dramas have ever really acknowledged what being gay means to a certain part of society. And when dramas do try to put attention to this they usually either just brush up on it in one singular episode or they make religion seem like an inherently homophobic thing.
Ticket to Heaven acknowledges the flaw of homophobia in the Catholic religion but does not undermine or bash the religion itself. A lot of people like to think you cannot comfortably be gay and be religious, but that is just wrong. I absolutely appreciate that despite the struggles our leads experience with their identity they do not abandon their faith but just change their perspective on what their faith means.
This drama was a story about acceptance and not abandoning religion.

series of the year
Even though the plot is quite heavy, this series is written and acted very well by the actors, the cinematography is also very good, the ending is satisfying for all the characters because they each make their own choices. The vibes from 1996 are also really felt, the OST that is sung also really supports the series, honestly I think this is the best BL I have watched. geminifourth brings the character of barthtanrak very well, I feel like I was brought into the character of tanrak, thanks p'aofWas this review helpful to you?

Wow. Absolute Masterpiece ??
Wow. I have no words. But I also have a thousand words. The acting from both Gemini and Fourth was incredible! This was a drama that would be hard for anyone to pull off with all the moments of speaking without words and showing so much raw emotion and pain. They both deserve awards, standing ovations, and the highest respect for this series. As a queer person who grew up catholic, this show really touched my heart and heals a broken part of me that my unaccepting family hasn’t healed. The way Fourth was able to portray that inner struggle and the pain he felt having felt like he had to choose between his true love and his love for God was absolute artistry. I was curious to see how Gemini and Fourth were going to be given this is a drama unlike anything they’ve ever done before. I can’t stress enough how impressed i am with their acting abilities and duality. Every episode had me in tears whether it was happy or sad, I felt so much emotion through this series. Waiting for it for 2 years was agony and it was worth it. The ending made me so happy. I was afraid after the motel scene that Tanrak was going to leave Barth but he didn’t. The subtle way they showed their story resulting in marriage was absolutely beautiful and graceful. The literal only downside of this series was that it was only 6 episodes. I wished for more and more episodes. I didn’t want it to end. I hope this series catapults both Gemini and Fourth’s career into even more dramas that test their abilities. Seeing them develop in their career has been a privilege and I can’t wait to see what they do next.

Ticket to Perfect!
Surprisingly, I was quite moved by this series and its intense story. Despite its flaws, it remains for me one of the best Thai dramas to come along in a very long time. It is a rather markedly dimensional cogitation of two boys who fell in love in an all-boys Catholic high school that centrally prepares them for becoming priests. The drawback of this series is the panoptic way the story is told and subsequently pieced together. It really is choppy and needed some serious rework to make the story flow better, especially between the episodes as its time references seemed to not transition well, coherently, or smoothly. The story even between frames at times did feel a bit disjointed. In addition, the saga itself introduced almost every type of human calamity to pull at the heartstrings. It nearly overwhelmed one’s emotional senses with despair and distraught. It honestly did not need to go that deep to solicit sentiments. That was accomplished by the exceptionally fine acting by the two protagonists. Nevertheless, none of these flaws diminished in any way from the power of this story. And what was the power of this story? Love. My full review of this poignant story is at BLBliss.com.Was this review helpful to you?
