AMAZING CHEMISTRY

This couple has one of the best chemistry’s i have ever seen, it’s crazy that this was the first drama Surfjava filmed together. I was so invested in the plot too, and even though It’s just 4 episodes i love them so much😭😭 They are amazing actors, i really think they have the potential to be one of the biggest couples in the thai bl industry. Java acts out sad scenes sooo well, he’s such a good actor!!
The storyline is also so creative and interesting and i think the enemies to lover trope it really well done, i’ve never seen one as good at this.
Also, the cinematography is sooo pretty and it has a comfortable summer vibe overall.
side note, Surjava are also crazy pretty, makes it really enjoyable to watch ayy😋i liked their fits too.

Awesome debut

Some history first: originally OhmLeng were cast as leads for this miniseries; when that ship sunk, SurfJava were cast instead – and seized their opportunity fully. Another small reminder: this was shot before "Head 2 Head" (Surf mentioned it in a H2H special), making this a debut for the ship as well as a debut for Surf in a GMMTV production.

The script relies heavily on well-known plot points and elements of monomyth, but it does so in a very competent way. What we get is a "classic" enemies-to-lovers story featuring betrayal, redemption, forgiveness and a happy end. You’ve probably seen some of that (or all of that) before, but stories like this are timeless and don’t get old nor stale. The writing is concise, smart and focuses on the main character – Tum. This choice (like in MuTeLuv: "Hi" by My Luck) was correct, as with just 4 episodes it would be too difficult to properly script and present two mains. "Love Me if You Swear" is a proper rom-com, with the comedy staying above a certain level of maturity – which I was very thankful for.

Surf does an amazing job here and feels far more comfortable with the material than he was in H2H – which might be due to the generally lighter and more comedic tone of this show. He’s got a firm grip on the role and makes Tum a likeable, relatable character: not the brightest, but smart, honest and brave enough to realize he made some wrong (and silly) choices, recognize what really matters and pursue Oh like his life depended on it. Surf’s engagement in the role makes all of that believable, elevating the character – which is something I love to see. Furthermore, Surf infused his character with calm, quiet warmth - something I did not expect and was surprised by. Java – for the third or maybe even fourth time (since "A Boss and a Babe") – portrayed an outsider, witty and almost annoyingly independent, bit of a jerk, actually. Much like with H2H’s Van, there’s more to Oh than that – a shy, quiet, thoughtful person, hesitant to open up. Java’s perfect for a role like that: superficially nonchalant, with a mocking smile and mischievous eyes that can turn calm and sad when you’re not looking. And again – like in H2H – Java got to deliver some of the most serious lines in the show, explaining why Oh prayed in the shrine; for me the story of Oh’s grandma stroke almost too close to home.

You have two young, hot, horny guys in a motel room, sitting on the floor next to a bed they just used, talking about the importance of family, what friendship is about and how love works. They don’t use any big words, there’s no pathos and it all sounds as if someone IRL was telling you all this. That’s not the show’s funniest nor most enjoyable scene, but the show’s most important scene – and it works so well because of Surf and Java. The chemistry is there not just in cute or steamy scenes; first and foremost it’s there in heavier scenes – that’s a rare gift and reason enough to keep Java and Surf together. They already showed that they can carry a show on their own.

Comedy is Subjective

Comedic Thai stories are usually a hit or miss for me. This, unfortunately, falls into the miss pile as the comedy didn't quite land for me. I wish the story had more heart and less comedy. The fight scenes were also not that well choreographed tbh. I could tell that they were fake. That they weren't quite hitting or choking each other. I shouldn't be able to tell that as a viewer.

The kiss scenes also aren't the best I've seen. They aren't the dreaded dead fish kisses, but something was missing. With that said, I think the acting is pretty decent. When the comedy is pushed back, allowing for more serious scenes, you can see the actors' acting skills shine. For rookies, they are pretty decent, I'll give them that. No one was stiff or unbelievable in those scenes.

I have their upcoming series 'Roommate Chaos' on my To Watch List, so I look forward to seeing more of their work then. I liked the comedy in that trailer, so hopefully that will land. And the kissing shall be better

Don’t think too much just go watch it, promise you won’t regret it

Watching this after Head2head, i just fell in love more with surfjava’s acting and chemistry. In my opinion they are genuinely sooo good. It can sound a bit extra, but as someone that has watched many series with various actors,genres, plots, i believe that they are one of the best actors of these new actors generation and maybe even the future of gmmtv. Because i think that if they can pull of any role if they are given the chance. So gmmtv i beg you give them more roles also as main leads because they truly deserve it. I would reccomend this series to everybody. For me their part the best among the whole muteluv series so it easily becomes one of my favourite series. I hope everyone will watch this and support Surfjava in their upcoming projects💗💗

Okey cute.

Devo dire che sono contenta di SurfJava. Se si considera poi che questo è stato il loro primo lavoro assieme (visto che lo hanno girato prima di H2H). Quindi come sono stati molto validi in quella devo dire che si riconfermano. That being said, mi sembra che un pelo si sia discostata dalla trama del primo trailer, ma questo come dire, non ci possiamo fare nulla. Ora al netto di tutto, anche se ho amato SurfJava, qua lo devo ammettere, non mi sarebbe dispiaciuto vedere OhmLeng in queste vesti, ma come dico sempre, non si può piangere sulle ship versate. Questo mi riporta sul seminata, cieè che non vedo veramente l'ora di vedere Roommate Chaos per vedere cosa possono fare SurfJava assieme a MarkOhm e a SaveFranc, quindi in un ruolo diciamo comprimario, visto che in questi quattro episodi sono stati molto, molto validi. E niente, mi è anche piaciuta la parte della nonna del personaggio di Java e di come la sua malattia lo abbia aiutato ad essere una persona migliore e che capisce quali sono le sue priorità, fino a spiegarlo anche al personaggio di Surf, per il quale apparire sembra alcune volte più importante che essere.

Why surfjava Series is peak and u should watch it

Ok can we talk about how underrated surfjava acting is? So before I start, DONT hate on me but I lowk forgot their characters names so ima call them by their real name. This show is lowk giving bad Buddy but in a different way. Ok now back to this damn peak show: there is 2 gangs and they lowk hate each other like they are rivals and the thing about these gangs is that they have a leader in their gangs. What surf group doesnt know is that he prayed to the goddesses that if he gets the power to be the leader then he will repay by visiting 9 temples. Next thing yk the time comes where he starts to get bad luck and realize he hasn’t visited the temples. On his first temple he meet Java,Java to gotta visit 9 temples so they lowk tag along. Ima lowk leave it at that but let’s just say u WILL cry (maybe)

My first 2026 series, actually.........

I’m honestly confused about why this series received a higher rating than Hi By My Luck. Maybe people are just really starved for this kind of theme, even though there are already so many similar stories out there.

Don’t get me wrong. I genuinely loved their chemistry. I’ve never seen them paired together before, but their presence alone was enough to keep me from dropping the series (which I’ve done with plenty of others this year). There’s just something about them that made it hard to look away.

At the same time, though, I felt like something was missing. I kept wanting more, like more depth, more emotional payoff, but the series never quite delivered that for me.

I guess I’ll have to watch their upcoming project just to satisfy that lingering hunger.

This is a feel good series and one of my faves in Muteluv

This isn't groundbreaking, but it's sweet and funny and cute. BL tropes abound, but they are well executed and satisfying. The mains are endearing. There's no question where we are headed from the beginning but it was still a fun ride. There is enough tension to move the story but not so much that its distracting or annoying. And the characters behave in a way that's believable in the context of a tv series. It's so irritating to watch bl's where couples are doing ridiculously foolish things that manufacture conflicts that no two people have ever found themselves in. (I give more leeway to comedies, but even then there are limits that some shows fail to respect.) The chemistry is good. So good in fact that the scenes without kissing show the warmth between them as effectively as the scenes where they do kiss. This hit all the right notes for me. It's warm and fuzzy with a few laughs and an appropriate amount of conflict. So simple and yet so good. It made me look for more places to watch the main couple and also got me interested in other miniseries within the larger Muteluv series.
