I was drawn by the abs on the thumbnail
Ok this drama appeared on my Youtube dashboard and as a person who appreciates finer things in life, I clicked 'Play' because of the thumbnail. There was a shirtless man ;). That is one of the few good things about this drama. I fast-forwarded most of the time. What I liked:
1. Cao Tian Kai - Wow, I love his washboard abs. The character that he played was domineering and physically strong - I recall him carrying his leading lady. This is my first drama starring Cao Tian Kai. I was keen to check out more of his work.
2. Romance - I actually enjoyed the scenes when FL didn't know that her partner was the uncle not the nephew. Those scenes were sweet and genuine.
3. Health & fitness - As someone who joined the gym 2 years ago after a health scare, I enjoy watching dramas with physical health & fitness scenes. Love the training/boxing scenes.
What I disliked:
1. FL characterisation - I dislike her character. I found her mousy and intimidated by ML. She resisted ML too much that I couldn't feel any chemistry between the actress and Cao Tian Kai. I've watched many meek FLs but this actress wasn't memorable enough for me to find out her name.
2. Secret identity - Once she discovered ML's secret identity, I couldn't enjoy the drama and fast-forwarded.

Lack of chemistry and FL acting are making me dropping this drama.
The early episodes are slightly coercive, but the middle episodes are purely sweet. Cao Tian Kai has an amazing physique. His muscles are beautifully shaped, his abs and pecs are incredible but it doesn't make me stay to watch until the end FL's kissing scenes are not very good at kissing. Tian Xiwen acting is not really good and i feel she was miscast. The workplace scenes are a bit long and somewhat bland and boring. Dropped. Was this review helpful to you?
Only here for the ML
Not sure how I came across this other than seeing that Cao Tian Kai was in it - so I decided to watch it. It's really the only reason to watch it.What I liked:
Obviously, the ML - really could just about watch him in anything.
Story was just so-so - although the early part where he takes care of her when she is blind was very sweet and I do wish we saw him in more of this mode instead of the super-aggressive mode that plays way too often.
What I didnt like:
FL character - she was just too mousy and a doormat too much of the time. And totally didnt get why she was so afraid of the grandfather - not even her grandfather - jeebus girl! Another FL that I just didnt get what so appealing about her.
Speaking of - so disliked him - the typical, old-school mindset - especially when he whips the ML (this whole idea of 'family rules' and capital punishment is just absurd) - its 2026 ffs, not an old dynasty era. Its a grown adult metting out capitol punishment because they have anger-management issues - its just gross But what pissed me off the most was him constantly taking the FL's autonomy away - making decisions for her, never listening to her, didnt care what she wanted (now granted, she never stands up for herself, so it doesnt help).
Romance scenes weren't all that great - mostly because he was too aggressive, a bunch of coercion and basically manipulates her early by lying to her about who he is to get her to sleep with him. How the writers try to make this romantic is beyond me.

It's weird to ask for a shorter vertical drama since they are already meant to be short and light but I would prefer if they just cut the whole office part and stopped at when everything is solved and all is good.
If they wanted to add some more screen time, maybe they should have focused more on the rivals part, and them being jealous of other people, add some romance to it.
But it's more like they wanted to add side stories to it when it's not really needed which made the overall drama redundant and boring
I've seen much better vertical dramas with better chemistry and story, so I would not recommend this one ~
