I genuinely can’t believe how much I enjoyed this drama. 🥹❤️

I went into Our Sticky Love with absolutely zero expectations. I’ve been in a pretty intense slump that comes and goes, and these days it’s been really hard for me to fully get invested in anything — especially K-dramas.

But Our Sticky Love was such a refreshing watch. It was fun, heartwarming, exciting, and I genuinely enjoyed every single moment of it.

The chemistry between the leads was SO good, and I loved the storyline and how beautifully it was developed throughout the 12 episodes. I never lost interest for even a second, and before I knew it, I had completely fallen in love with this drama.

It honestly reminded me so much of the dramas I used to love back in the day. That feeling of leaving the house and just wanting to get back home so you can continue watching the next episode… I MISSED that feeling so much. 😭

And I even cried!!! The last episode had me in TEARS — I genuinely couldn’t stop crying. 😭❤️

If you’re looking for something sweet, heartwarming, emotional, and family-oriented, with a little bit of action and comedy too — something easy, enjoyable, and comforting to watch — THIS is the drama. 🥹

Pulling off a romantic thriller…

…is not easy, but is certainly possible. Our Sticky Love does not, in my opinion. The plot itself has a lot of potential for a romantic thriller. However, the mixture of these two very polar-opposite genres simply does not work.

Combining a thrilling plot with a romantic—or rather, downright swoon-worthy—romantic storyline simply does not work. From a viewer’s standpoint, it feels strangely insincere: one moment, you are swooning over the main leads as they stand under cherry blossoms and take cute pictures; the next, you are on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out when the FL will regain another part of her memory. It simply feels wrong to root for the main leads’ relationship, almost invasive in a way.

In my opinion, the show would have been better off toning down the swoony-romantic side and focusing more on the psychological romantic thriller. The show could have been a lot more gripping if it had focused more heavily on the FL’s amnesia and on how her recovering memories would affect her relationship with the ML—a relationship that is, after all, built on a lie.

In a way, it could have been similar to Flower of Evil, where the thriller is driven by the intense deception within the central relationship and the uncertainty surrounding it. In Flower of Evil, the suspense works precisely because the romantic relationship is at the center of the thriller: the more the FL discovers about the ML’s hidden identity and lies, the more her feelings for him are put into question.

Instead, Our Sticky Love feels like a strange mixture of genres, where both could have worked well on their own, but simply do not work when combined in this particular way.

Everything good exept the romanec (if you leave out most of the scenes it's good) :)))

Okay so I really liked the serious scenes and the plot that wasn't romance. The deep dive into Baek Sang-il backstory in the last episodes was so interesting and that scene where he held Kang Tae-ha for the first time broke my heart. ( He is still not a good person but I can't help but wonder what would have happend if he decided differently back then.) As for the Romance it was too much for me and it really didn't go well with the rest of the plot. Like you'd have a cute scene between the Leads and then CUT brutal torture or something. The mood shifted too fast and drastically if you know what I mean.
As for the characters this whole Taffy Village was a bit too wholesome and soft for my taste. At some point it got too clichee. What I'm really sad about is the character development of the leads. In the Beginning both of them were super badass and then in the ending they were constantly staring at each other with puppy eyes. I was actually excited to see Jung Hae-in in a role that wasn't all sunshine and rainbows like love next door but in the end it just got ridiculous. And I don't mean their acting, that was pretty good but the script was just really not that good. The FL was supposed to be some hotshot prosecutor but in the end she was just annoying and clingy.

twists over twists made the story twisted

the starting was so good because i thought she was dreaming herself in an action movie then later i realised no, it’s real. when jang tae ha tried to save her the first thing which hit me was she is definitely his first love. the story was okayish but jang tae ha’s lies were very absurd and obviously will make go ji won doubt him that they are definitely not dating. crazy but the actor played baek seung pil is no doubt versatile. till the end he made sure not to let jang tae ha know about him. maybe jang tae ha could have doubted him but he was clueless. them sharing same muscle memory proved “like father, like son”. lastly, if jang tae ha’s mother was still alive she would definitely not let her son follow his father’s footsteps but the story really showed that baek seung pil saw himself in jang tae ha after he won gold medal. go ji won really played the character well but their chemistry got me off guard, though i expected some more. the fighting scenes genuinely deserves 11/10 score. lastly, i would like to conclude with that i really love stories when they are portrayed in village rather than city coz all the women there was so supportive and lovable. they really cared for go ji won even though she was rude and used different tones with elders. they were like pillars to her and supported her till the end.
i would genuinely recommend y’all to give it a go. i know it depends from person to person if they like it or not but i really loved it!!!

Uma das melhores surpresas do ano, mas que correu no final

A direção do Kim Jang-han deu um show na estética, equilibrando perfeitamente a fotografia linda e aconchegante da vila rural com aquele clima gostoso de mistério e romance. O grande pilar do dorama com certeza é a atuação e a química magnética entre Jung Hae-in e Ha Young. O Jung Hae-in entrega tudo nas microexpressões e nos silêncios do Jang Tae-ha, enquanto a Ha Young transita super bem entre a vulnerabilidade da amnésia e a postura imponente de promotora da Go Eun-sae. A trilha sonora também dita o ritmo exato de cada cena, justificando a nota máxima na experiência geral.

O único "porém" de sommelier foi que a roteirista Mo Ji-hye demonstrou um pouco de pressa na amarração do terceiro ato. Faltou profundidade para fechar detalhes cruciais que foram jogados para escanteio na reta final. O mais gritante deles foi o arco envolvendo a paternidade e o passado do Jang Tae-ha. Um mistério que prometia um baita impacto dramático acabou sendo resolvido de forma meio corrida para priorizar apenas o desfecho romântico.

Ainda assim, o saldo é extremamente positivo! É um dorama viciante, delicioso de assistir e com um valor enorme para reassistir. Nota 10 com total convicção, apesar desse deslize no roteiro.

Casting

The series started off interestingly. Unfortunately, it's unclear whether we should view it as a comedy or take it seriously. Both TaeHa and EunSae have separate storylines, but they're not given properly.
Even before the story, the casting mismatch bothered me. Jung Hae In, with his strong dramatic acting skills, deserved to be partnered with a better actress for the female lead. While I found Hae In's scenes realistic, Ha Young's acting, which is still unclear, unfortunately disconnects me from the scene. Sometimes her gestures and facial expressions don't synchronize with the dialogue, and sometimes they fall short of conveying emotion. Ultimately, I'm trying to watch what Hae In brings to the scene through his individual efforts, and I hope that in his next project he'll be with a partner who complements him and at least delivers acting at his level.

Sticky Love — A Purely Entertaining Ride

This drama makes me so happy. I’ve already finished it three times, and honestly, I can see myself going back for a fourth. For me, personally, to truly enjoy a series, the story has to make sense. I can accept creative liberties and dramatic scenes, but there has to be a certain level of logic within my tolerable threshold. And Sticky Love managed to keep me invested while giving me everything I want from a drama: story, romance, comedy, action, and emotion.

Let’s Talk About the Characters
My favorite — nothing to guess here — Jang Tae Ha shiiiiiiiiiiii!

What a character! He switches so effortlessly between a ruthless mafia boss and the cutest pookie ever known to mankind. 😂

He is fiercely protective of the people he loves, constantly takes care of everyone around him, and doesn’t spare even a second when it comes to putting himself in danger to save the woman he loves. As someone says in the drama, how can you not fall in love with a fool who puts his own life in danger to save you?

And I have to be honest — Jung Hae In made a fan out of me with this one. He was simply fabulous. I genuinely didn’t know he was this good with action sequences. He absolutely nailed them. But what impressed me even more was how naturally he transitioned between the intimidating, ruthless side of Tae Ha and his ridiculously adorable side.

The female lead — another winner!

I absolutely loved her character. She isn’t some weakling who sits around waiting to be rescued. Even after losing everything, she refuses to give up and keeps fighting until the very end. A badass female prosecutor? Yes, please. That is my weakness for a reason. 😂

And what a performance! She brings such a great range of emotions to the character — frustration, comedy, vulnerability, being in love, and, of course, that fierce prosecutor energy. She made the character incredibly enjoyable to watch.

The main villain deserves a special mention too. A villain with a solid backstory will always win points with me, and this one was no exception. The performance was brilliant and flawless. And the whole boxing between father and son? Absolutely a treat to watch.

Then we have the rest of the cast — the cutest Harmoni, the sister, the boxing coach and his wife, Doctor Oppa, Ganruk Oppa — everyone did their part sincerely and wonderfully. I genuinely ended up loving all of them.

Everything Else
The cinematography is top-notch, especially the Japan night scenes. They looked gorgeous and added so much atmosphere to the drama.

And the humor! I actually laughed while watching this, which I genuinely thought wasn’t possible anymore after seeing so many dramas desperately trying to be funny with cringe comedy. Here, the humor actually worked for me.

At the end of the day, Sticky Love is pure entertainment. You can watch it for the story, the romance, the comedy, the action, the emotional moments, or simply for Jang Tae Ha being Jang Tae Ha. 😂

It has a little bit of everything, and somehow it all comes together into a drama that just makes me happy.

Three watches already, and I’m still not tired of it. That says everything. ❤️

Know When To Stop

This series was entertaining enough to warrant my watching it through 10 episodes. Sure, the FL wasn't very believable as a hot shot prosecutor, but there were enough heart-string-tugging moments for this old romantic to enjoy the series without too much jumping through the uninteresting side plot segments. As episode 10 was progressing I was thinking this could be the final episode only there wasn't much of a victory lap occurring. As far as I was concerned the ML and FL finally getting together with full knowledge of their fateful early encounters, surrounding by the good folks of Taffy Village, was a fine way to end it. When it was clear the writer had more in mind my first thought was "why?" So I opted to end watching this series at the end of the 10th episode. I didn't want to risk an "Iris" type ending or indulging a writer who felt the need to add to what was already an acceptable story.

What is this??

I’m not gonna lie, I thought this k-drama had so much potential at first. The idea was great, until it all fell apart. I couldn’t even make it past episode two on how over the top it was and the characters couldn’t even follow their personality!

The male lead is supposedly a gangster and there were a few scenes where he acted like it, but other than that it seemed like he was a lover boy that’s never had his first kiss and so nervous about romantic touch?

Don’t get me wrong, the fem lead had a reasonable personality due to her situation but it’s too much in my opinion. Her personality doesn’t really match up to me.

When the lady (old boxing coach man’s wife) showed her around the village and the three elderly ladies were at their “spiritual reading” place, the sign had a swastika?! At that point I just shut my device off because why is that there let alone in a K-drama?

Pretty solid weekend watch.

Fun, chill, and exactly the kind of show you can throw on with the family without having to mentally prepare yourself first. 😂 That warm small-town vibe really worked for me, and the humor was actually funny without trying way too hard.

Now, the amnesia + fake dating combo… yeah, we’ve been here before. A LOT. There were basically zero surprises on that front. 😂 Still, the story moved along nicely and never felt like a chore to get through.

My biggest issue was Ha Young’s memory coming back. I really wanted more from that storyline. We barely got to see her in action as a prosecutor beyond a couple of arrests, which felt like such a missed opportunity. You introduce her as a prosecutor and then barely let her prosecute anything? Come on. 😭

I did really enjoy the romance/crime balance, though. The mystery itself was pretty light, but the romance made up for it. The cast was great across the board, and the chemistry between Jung Hae-in and Ha Young was honestly one of the highlights. They just worked.

And then we got to the final “twist.”

…Really? 😭

The whole long-lost-child reveal felt so ridiculously cliché that it almost took me out of the ending. And for a supposedly top-tier crime boss like Baek Sang-gil, I’m sorry, but there’s no way this man should be finding out basic information about the people closest to him at the very end. 😂 It felt less like a clever twist and more like the writers needed one last dramatic reveal and just went with it.

Still, I had a good time watching this. It’s not exactly a mind-bending crime thriller, and the mystery could’ve been stronger, but the characters, romance, humor, and overall cozy vibe carried it pretty well.

Easy watch, good chemistry, happy ending — just don’t expect the crime plot to blow your mind.
