OUR STICKY LOVE!

First of all, I enjoyed the pairing of Ha Young and Jung Hae-in, major props for Ha Young as she act very well for her character. There's nothing much of a dull moment for me in this drama, I rarely skipped most of the scenes unlike the other dramas I have watched. Finale was a rollercoaster of emotions, and I enjoyed every bit of it. Also, shoutout to the popular guest appearances: Lee Jun-young (Reborn Rookie) - Kaito, Song Geon-hee (Lovely Runner) - Young Baek Sang-gil, Choi Dae-hoon (The WonderFools, Agent Kim Reactivated) - the doctor in the 1st episode. The action scenes were enjoyable as well, Jung Hae-in looks like a badass.

IDC WHAT ANYONE SAYS, this was so good.

Went into this expecting to not like it as much but i was SO wrong. I’ve read reviews about the chemistry between the pair and while I agree it wasn’t off the charts, it definitely got the job done and i enjoyed every minute of it. It was funny and cute. Was it knocking my socks off? No but it’s a drama. People go into these things wanting to write 8 paragraph think pieces about it and that seems exhausting. JUST ENJOY THE SHOW or drop it and move on. We don’t need think pieces on a kdrama. It’s unnecessary and shows how much time and boredom you have

perfect mix of all genre. complete drama.

Just finished this drama today and what did I just watch? 😭 It has everything from being typical romcom, action, fight scenes, melancholy, drama elements, good storytelling. Just every aspect of this drama fits perfectly at the end. It wasn't just a one dimensional drama like only romcom, or action, it has bit of everything.

Starting was a bit cliche, as the show went on i couldn't stop giggling throughout. Though there were a lot of sad scenes too. What I actually like is It sums up all characters backstory perfectly together in the end, especially te ha's father, baek sung gil, and gave it perfect closure. Writing and storytelling, romance, love between the villagers everything was so good.

The female lead, is a beauty, though pretty inexperienced as it's her first lead role ig, still she pulled off everything so well. Few scenes felt cringe still it's okay because of the comedic timings. We can overlook that. I'm definitely gonna miss these characters.

Jung haein , what should I say, mature actor , pretty face but heroic action. Their chemistry was top notch. Like what was not being present in the show? It was definitely my top 10 ever. I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece, but 10/10 for me. And I'm not new to kdrama been watching for 5 yrs now.

just watch it with no expectations and you'll be surprised. It may not be for everyone. But definitely recommended.

Rating: 10/10.

Better than expected

I initially thought it was going to be cheesy, but after seeing a few snippets on IG, I decided to give it a shot. I thought it was going to be similar to Jung Hae In's "Love Next Door", but the cast in this show was so much better. The individuals that carried this show, in my opinion, were Go Eun Sae and the SES girls.

I really liked Ha Young's ability to express her character's comedic element. The most memorable moments were when she was jealous. I enjoyed the dynamic of the SES girls, every time they got together, especially their K-pop performance at the wedding 😆.

One of the things that stood out for me that I didn't care for, not sure if it was exaggerated on her part, but I didn't like Go Eun Sae's crazy laugh. It was cringy for me, and it was similar to someone scratching a chalk board.

Trying to be many things but failing to be anything

Well, I was quite curious about it because I usually like Jung Hae-In's works, but wow... This one is pretty meh.

This drama tries to be a cheesy rom-com and an action thriller series at the same time, but fails to be anything relevant. It's neither a good rom-com nor a good action drama. It's full of clichés, but that's not a problem, as long as they are well-used and/or fully assumed as a kind of joke (look at "Business Proposal"). But do not get your hopes up : it is not the case here.

I saw people pointing at the FL, but I personally do not believe it is her fault because I saw her in "Doona!" and I liked her acting. To me, the responsibility falls onto the directors and the writers who failed to create anything interesting. This drama is just a bland rom-com filled with some action and thriller elements. And the way the plot is resolved at the end felt super upsetting. I was like, "Everything happened so far for... that?".

I would not recommend it, at least if you are looking for something decent. But if you are looking for something to binge-watch while turning your brain off, you might enjoy it.

SO GOOD I LEFT MY FIRST REVIEW ON THIS SITE (lol)

I simply had to because I found some of the negativity totally egregious LOL.

This genuinely had me kicking my feet and giggling practically the whole timeeeeee; I think this is especially because k-dramas recently haven’t been hitting right? This just had something- I don't know what it is/ how to put it into words but i really liked it. Some criticisms about chemistry had me a bit confused but then again these things are relative so I'd say give it a go if you like mix of comedy, action and adorableness (really liked the characterisation of the FL and the dynamics between her and the ML and just how they interacted with each other- they were so cute).

P.S: And this drama did very well with one of its major plot twists! Very much surprised (in a good way/ in a way that worked well) which is always nice!

Hell No, This Drama Came Out of Nowhere ?

I went into Our Sticky Love thinking, “Okay, I’ll just watch the first 2 episodes and see how it goes.” But then I found out that all the episodes had already aired, and honestly, I'm so glad they did because I ended up finishing the whole thing in ONE DAY. 😭

I really liked the whole fake boyfriend + amnesia/memory-lost girlfriend setup. It was exactly the kind of ridiculous-but-fun plot that somehow makes you want to keep watching.

We have Jung Hae-in playing a former gangster, and I LOVED him in this role. He pulled off both sides of the character so well — the soft, sweet side and the tougher gangster side. But honestly, I was way more invested in his gangster era. They should have given us WAY more scenes from that period because I needed to see more of it! 😭

And Ha Young did such a great job too. I really liked her character, and she brought so much charm and drama to the drama.

Even the side characters — who could be a little annoying sometimes — somehow made the drama more entertaining. 😂 Honestly, their chaos is part of what makes this drama fun.

And I genuinely don't understand why this drama has such a low rating. Is it the most groundbreaking drama ever? No. But is it a fun, easy, one-time watch that can get you hooked? Absolutely.

Also… THE CAMEOS. 👀

I'm not going to tell you who they are because I don't want to spoil the surprise, but there is more than one cameo, and some of you might have already seen them in edits. Still, seeing them actually show up in the drama hits differently. 😭

So if you're looking for something fun to watch this August, just give Our Sticky Love a try. You can easily finish it in 2–3 days, and apparently, if you're me, you can finish it in one day. 😂

Don't go into it expecting a masterpiece. Just enjoy the chaos, the chemistry, Jung Hae-in's gangster era, and the ridiculous storyline.

Sometimes you don't need a perfect drama. You just need a drama that makes you want to keep watching. And this one did exactly that for me.

⭐ My rating: 8/10

I could have done a better job writing a story…

To start ofd with, the premise of this drama sounded really interesting and the first 3-4 episodes were fun to watch. But after a while, somewhere in the middle it got quite borinf and repetitive and I started getting annoyed by the FL’s cartoonish behaviour.
First of all, she was supposed to be a prosecutor but her behaviour was totally untypical for someone who is supposed to have such a professional job. First of all, she goes off by herself to catch these bad guys, at night, at this deserted place, without any guns or weapons whatsoever! Really? She is a prosecutor but she lacks logic? This situation would even be dangerous for a strong man! And she has no fighting or self-defense skills, is a bag of bones and has no weapons… Yeah sure!
Then there is the apparently cold-blooded gangster who killed many people brutally but suddenly gets all flustered by this woman? idk! I didn’t quite buy it. He was suddenly not acting like a gangster anymore. Same as his colleague and friend Gwangrok who suddenly turned absolutely goofy and unserious. Something is not adding up here.
At the beginning I didn’t like the three village women but I ended up liking them and all the other villagers and I think the found family aspect of the drama was one of the best.
The drama started to get a bit better in episodes 8 and 9 when they were planning FL’s escape by boat. We also got to see Kaito who was one of my faves of this drama if not then my absolute favorite and it was a shame we only saw hin that briefly 🥺 I am sure I would have given the drama a better rating if he had appeared more often and had become an integral part of the cast… but oh well…
After the boat escape and arresting of Baek Sanggil we went back to fluffy content which I didn’t enjoy as much bcs I didn’t have any feelings towards the main leads especially the FL whom I couldn’t connect with at all. And in the last few episodes she was getting on my nerves even moreeee!!!! The whole oppa / chagi debate was excruciating!!!! I hated everything about it and didn’t find it funny or cute at all! Actually her behaviour was giving bully vibes to me. The way she called everyone oppa and laughed at him and made him into a fool and ridiculed him in front of everyone… disgusting! If I were Tae-ha I would have lost all my feelings for her! I really can’t stand people like that, making fun of their friends or partners. It’s toxic!!!

If the last two episodes with the background story of Tae-ha’s parents hadn’t happened I would have given this drama a 5. But I was actually invested in the story and character of Tae-ha’s mom and I liked how Baek Sanggil realized the truth at grandma’s house (I predicted that he would see a photo) and took the secret with him to his grave. The scene where he is holding the gun to Tae-ha’s face and Tae-ha is holding his hand and how it reminded him of the first time he held his son really broke my heart a bit. And in that moment I realized that he was gonna shoot himself! That was such a great way to solve this mess for real! But it was definitely fun for the audience to see this twist. I am glad he didn’t pull a darth vader on him. 😂

The wedding at the end was cute but the random coupling up of the besties was a bit cringe tbh.
I liked the rain reference and how he now has positive feelings about it. Reminded me a bit of Record of Youth. In general this drama felt like a mix of several other dramas: Sold Out On You, Doctor on the Edge, Vincenzo, Spring Fever, Dynamite Kiss, Good Boy, and probably some others that I don’t remember rn.

Here are some other thoughts, questions and criticisms that I had while watching the drama:

* The drama is already short with 12 episodes but it seems like it could have been even shorter
* The misunderstanding at the beginning of the drama was dumb when she thinks he pities her and he thinks she got her memories back…
* He is constantly loosing her and looking for her in the streets shouting her name
* The dog is so cute and I am sure I saw this dog somewhere before
* The psychiatrist is quite funny! He might be one of my favorite character in this drama tbh 😂😂😂
* End of ep.7 is finally getting a bit more exciting
* Kaito is a hottie!
* Her bestie is a bitch and their story didn’t make me feel anything at all!
* Why do they never call the police?
* What happened to Grandma’s dementia?
* How tf did he escape and why did they organize a huge ass buss only for him???
* Pil-seung looks like Kai from Exo
* Couldn’t Tae-ha just have taken a loan for the surgery of the grandma? Why join a gang?

All in all the mash-up of the genres was interesting at the beginning as a concept but in reality it didn’t turn out too well i think. It was quite unbalanced, lacked compelling characters, and had too many plotholes.

6/10!

A generic rom-com that doesn't go anywhere

A generic romance comedy, with a little bit of action, lack of suspense and weak narrative. Honestly, the series is poorly written. The premise is good but it's so inconsistent. Let's not even get into whether it's realistic or not; it's simply not believable. The characters are poorly written, even for a rom-com, with an abundance of illogical inconsistencies.

The pacing is horribly slow and more than half of the time, there's just nothing going on. The chemistry lacks between the leads and a missing sense of excitement to see them on the screen. One of the biggest problems here is that there is no central conflict in the story that’s worth caring about. There is no such intrigue that a villain usually brings to the story. But that’s not the biggest thing to worry about, because the leads are nothing extraordinary themselves. Here every plotline moves simultaneously, so there is no starting point to follow. It’s not convoluted, thankfully, but it’s not easy on the eye either.

The performances were not great. None of the characters are written effectively and the story doesn't support their growth either. The FL was better, however the chemistry felt forced. The supporting were just an addition that were totally forgettable. There were so many loose ends in the narrative, that it genuinely is laughable. Technically, the show has great aesthetics and decent background score, but it couldn't save the chaotic story of 'Our Sticky Love'.

My take - There are dozens of good rom-coms with a plot, go revisit them again instead of this.

JUST WATCH IT !!

I watched this show before the Korean media and public threw a tantrum. The series was good and enjoyable overall, but it could have been shorter. I understand why they made 12 episodes, but I found myself fast-forwarding through some predictable scenes. However, the funny rom-com moments and the fight scenes were great! My main issue is with the Female Lead (FL). At first, she was portrayed as a strong woman with memory loss. But after she regained her memory, her character became invisible. This felt off and was a missed opportunity. Also, my two cents about the FL being cancelled: it is a huge missed opportunity for the entertainment world! She is a talented actress, and throwing her away like this is just a waste. Still, it is a good show that is worth watching.

The only thing that STUCK was my disappointment ?

The plot was interesting enough. Then why was it not executed well?

Well, here I am with another review about how disappointed I am with the plotline and, honestly, much more.

Even though the plot was cliché, it could have turned out really well if the characters had been written better. Instead, everything felt far too convenient. And then, suddenly, WOW, they get their happy ending. What else could you possibly want?

The chemistry was practically nonexistent. I’m not even kidding. The FML was trying so hard, while our ML seemed to feel absolutely nothing. My biggest complaint, however, lies with the ML because you had ONE job.

You’re supposed to be dangerous. Scary. The kind of man who is feared by everyone but becomes vulnerable only around the people he loves. And yet, when the person you supposedly love runs away from the very thing that was meant to keep her safe, after you’ve literally taken multiple stabs and punches to make that happen, you just... let it go?

How?

Someone with his supposed emotional attachment and personality would have lost it. At the very least, I expected anger, desperation, frustration, something that would show that her actions actually affected him. Instead, he just accepts everything so calmly. There’s no doubt that he loves her. As a viewer, I can imagine what he must have been feeling in those moments.

Unfortunately, what I imagined remained just that: my imagination. I didn’t actually get to see those emotions translate onto the screen. And that’s a problem when the entire relationship is supposed to be built around how deeply he feels for her.

Another major complaint I have is about the FML.
You’d expect much bigger reactions from someone who was tortured, turned, and put through everything she went through. For someone whose fingerprints were literally burnt to a crisp, she seemed suspiciously okay and strong. And I’m not saying she needed to be completely broken or helpless, but I needed to see the impact of what happened to her.

There was so much potential for this to actually shape her character. Trauma, fear, anger, hesitation, even small changes in the way she interacted with people would have made sense. Instead, she seemed to bounce back far too easily, which made the whole ordeal feel strangely weightless.

And that’s probably what frustrated me the most. The story gives these characters experiences that should fundamentally affect them, but then doesn’t let those experiences actually affect their behaviour enough.

The plot twist was good, even though I'd called it two episodes ago. It was good enough to keep me engaged, I'd say.

But I have seen better i guess. I would have been appreciative if they showed if Jang Tae Ha picked up boxing again after that (Tho the show does hint so).

But I guess it is what it is. This is probably the most frustrating kind of disappointment. Not when a show is terrible from the beginning, but when you can see the version of it that could have been so much better.
