Overall a good entertainer with on spot acting!

Just finished "My sticky Love", it was not like a traditional K-drama. Had a twist at the end with a slow and happing ending. There was no rushing in the last episode, the director took his time to give us a meaningful ending rather than a fairy tale.

Both the actors were top notch. Ha Young was a tad bit difficult to recall from the Drama, The Trauma Code where she was marvellous and in this she was the perfect co-acter for Jung Hae in.

Her acting was organic and didn't have any artificial elements. Would love to watch more of her in Main roles. 😍

The Sum of all parts are not working, though I love the Female Lead

This review will be a little different format that my normal ‘structured’ one coz I just need to verbalize my thoughts.

You know there are dramas where you rate it higher or lower because you like or dislike a particular character or actor? “Our Sticky Love” is that kind of drama and it’s disappointing because I really want to like it as a whole. It started out well with an interesting female lead and the handsome and adorable Jung Hae In. But as the drama progresses, I can’t help but start to feel like there are elements I like, but they all don’t quite fit well to make the whole drama enjoyable.

Ha Young plays the female lead, Ko Eun Sae. I wasn’t sure how I felt about her in the beginning because I am not a fan of over-the-top characters, and comedies could be a hit-or-miss for me. But after an episode or two, I warmed up to it and eventually felt that Ko Eun Sae is the BEST part of the drama. She’s fun and outgoing, but sweet and caring. She’s playful and sarcastic but super smart. I like that she has amnesia, yet her intelligence continues to shine throughout the drama. She’s a prosecutor, so you know she is smart and she has the guts. That part of her personality stays true whether she remembers her past or not, or whether she knows the whole truth or not. Her instinct is spot on. And I love that so much in a female character. Ha Young did a fabulous job playing this role and she’s so pretty. I know she got into some ‘hot water’ these days because of her family and humble bragging, but I am glad she’s able to shine as a fun female lead here.

On the other hand, my sweet sweet Jung Hae In’s character did not live up to the expectation. I love a cute and dorky male lead as much as the next romance lover, but the character being a combo of a former gangster and a naive 34-year old in love doesn't work well for me. First of all, I do not believe a 34-year old gangster, even though has not been in a relationship, is really that naive. Seriously? He’s a gangster and has seen all the ugliness and dirt in the world, I am sure that includes women and nasty relationships. He can’t be that innocent. Additionally, the gangster persona is a little lackluster. Aside from the amazing action scenes (which are done really well), I was looking forward to a more mean and stern D.P.-like character in Jang Tae Ha. Unfortunately, the gangster part is a little bland and not the fierce D.P-like character I was looking for. As much as I love Jung Hae In, this is not a good role for him. I even like his role in “Love Next Door” more than this puppy gangster. Maybe Jung Hae In needs to retire from being a rom-com lead but an action hero with slight romance.

I wouldn’t say the leads have no chemistry. It just might not be excellent chemistry. I do love the cute and adorable scenes regardless of how I feel Jang Tae Ha as a character. Are the romantic gestures cute and romantic? Definitely. Is the intentional teasing from Eun Sae fun? Absolutely. These are the elements I love only if taken out of context.

The plot itself is quite cliche. You sort of know how the amnesia plot is going to play out. So in a way, this could be a comfort watch. The whole corruption investigation started out interesting, but fizzles out and becomes an afterthought. The ending twist is interesting but I felt that if it was explored sooner, that adds another layer to the plot. The background story of Jang Tae Ha’s family and parents could be interesting as well. But we found out too late for us to do anything with it. Instead, we spent time on the rural ahjummas. They are a fun group too, but I am not sure if the boxer teenager or the spirited ahjumma add much to the general plot. Oh, and I love the surprise of the guest role, Kaito. Gosh, I forgot how handsome he is and now I want to go watch more of his dramas (don’t want to spoil it for you coz I wasn’t aware he’s in the drama). Kaito doesn’t really add a lot to the plot, but I do want to see this actor more for his face card LOL

To end on a positive note, I love the found family trope. It’s especially nice because both leads did not grow up with their birth parents. Seeing them finding home and family in Taffy Village is lovely. Tae Ha has his grandma and aunt, and also coach and his wife (they are like godparents). The SES ahjummas could be a little bit annoying (I’ve seen worse ahjummas) but they do bring a lot of fun to the drama. They are the family that FL needs before she builds her own. Their song and dance in the last episode was hilarious!

Is “Our Sticky Love” horrible? Not at all. It was a quick and easy binge. I love Ko Eun Sae as the fun female lead. I love the found family. I love all the action scenes. But there are also other areas that annoy me. I am especially disappointed that I don’t love Jung Hae In’s character here and that is a personal disappointment. Flashes of adorableness don’t cut it off and I can’t shut down my brain to just enjoy his cuteness.

He Looks Like a Gangster, But His Heart Belongs to Her !!

The gangster male lead and prosecutor female lead were what initially drew me to Our Sticky Love. Before watching, I honestly expected the drama to be full of toxicity, misunderstandings, and conflict because of their opposite careers. But after watching it, I realized the story was quite different from what I expected, and I really enjoyed that. What I appreciate most is how understanding Ko Eun Sae is. She doesn't simply judge Tae Ha because of his gangster background. Instead, she takes the time to understand him and the circumstances that made him who he is. Tae Ha's backstory really broke my heart. He didn't become a gangster because he wanted power or enjoyed hurting people. He became one because he wanted to save the grandmother who raised him. Living in the countryside with very little money, I can't imagine how desperate he must have been when she needed surgery. His circumstances pushed him into a life he never truly wanted. The drama portrays Tae Ha's gangster life really well. He fights almost like a machine, cold, emotionless, and incredibly capable. But underneath that tough exterior, he still has a heart. He has such a strong instinct to protect the people he loves: his grandmother, his village friends, and especially his first love. That's probably what I like most about his character. If Tae Ha were truly a bad person, he could have killed the prosecutor regardless of their past, even though she was his first love and someone who had saved him before. But he didn't. He wasn't blinded by ambition. Despite the violent life he was forced into, there was still a part of him that remained human. He still knew the difference between protecting himself and hurting someone he cared about. And Tae Ha is so good at acting with his eyes. 🥹 His eyes can look incredibly cold and intimidating when he's in gangster mode, but around Eun Sae, they become so soft and almost puppy-like. The way his eyes sparkle around her says so much without him even needing to say anything. You can really see the difference between the scary gangster Tae Ha and the man who is simply in love with his first love. also love how patient Tae Ha is, especially when it comes to Eun Sae. He doesn't suddenly become a smooth, confident romantic hero just because they're together. Instead, he seems genuinely unsure of how to act around his first love. 😂 Watching this intimidating gangster, who can fight people without hesitation, become awkward, shy, and almost puppy-like around his girlfriend is honestly one of the cutest things about the drama. And Ko Eun Sae, she has so many personalities! 😂 She's funny, adorable, confident, emotional, and sometimes completely chaotic in the best way. I especially love her jealousy scenes. She doesn't just quietly accept everything Tae Ha does; she knows how to make her man behave! 😂 That's another thing I love about their relationship. Tae Ha may look like the scary one, but Eun Sae definitely knows how to handle him. Their dynamic is so entertaining because this intimidating gangster can become so patient and soft around the woman he loves, while Eun Sae isn't afraid to put him in his place when necessary.

Overall, Our Sticky Love surprised me in the best way. I went in expecting a toxic gangster × prosecutor romance filled with endless misunderstandings because of their opposite careers, but instead I got a story about love, sacrifice, loyalty, family, friendship, and protecting the people who matter most.

Perhaps the meaning of life is remembering every scene that has passed -Ko Eun Sae

This drama received a surprising amount of backlash even before it premiered. Much of the criticism was directed at the casting of JHI and the premise, which made it seem like the male lead was nothing more than a creepy stalker pretending to be the boyfriend of a woman suffering from amnesia. What I found strange was the obvious double standard. There have been plenty of dramas and movies where the female lead pretends to be the girlfriend of an amnesiac male lead, yet those stories are usually treated as harmless romantic comedies rather than something controversial.

After watching it myself, I honestly think this drama deserves a chance. It is nowhere near as bad as the early comments made it out to be. One of its biggest strengths is its pacing. The story avoids dragging out unnecessary misunderstandings, and most of the smaller conflicts are resolved quickly instead of stretching across multiple episodes. There is also a nice little plot twist near the ending, and thankfully the drama delivers a satisfying happy ending for both main leads.

If you enjoy romantic comedies with a touch of crime, violence, and legal elements, I highly recommend giving this one a try. Beyond the romance, the drama also offers heartwarming themes of family and friendship that make the characters and their relationships feel even more rewarding.

Another thing I appreciated was how every major character received a proper backstory. Even the villains were given understandable motivations, making them feel like real people instead of one dimensional antagonists. It doesn't excuse their actions, but it does help you understand why they became who they are.

The entire cast did a fantastic job. The chemistry between the two leads developed naturally, evolving from awkward strangers with trust issues into a couple that genuinely loved and trusted each other. Their romance never felt forced. The interactions with the residents of Candy Village were equally enjoyable. Watching the villagers go from constantly clashing with one another to becoming a close knit family was one of the most heartwarming parts of the drama. I also appreciated that the second couple wasn't forgotten, they had their own storyline with a satisfying conclusion instead of simply existing to support the main romance.

The biggest reason I fell in love with this drama, however, was Ha Young. I had previously seen her in The Trauma Code and several other dramas where she mostly played supporting roles. I was especially curious about her after watching Teach You a Lesson, where she looked absolutely gorgeous. But this is the drama that truly made me realize how talented she is. Her acting feels incredibly natural, and she brings every emotion to life effortlessly. Whether she's portraying serious moments, adorable comedic scenes, or romantic emotions, she delivers them with convincing expressions and perfect timing. I completely fell for her performance, and yes, she's drop dead gorgeous. It honestly wouldn't be an exaggeration to say she carries the drama with her charm and screen presence alone.

My main criticism is the way the villains were handled in the final episodes. After giving us so many beautiful and romantic moments, the drama failed to provide satisfying consequences for its antagonists. The main villain, despite having a surprisingly emotional backstory, received a punishment that felt far too lenient considering everything that had happened. Likewise, the female lead's ex-bf, who acted as a spy, essentially walked away without facing any real consequences. That left the ending feeling slightly incomplete.

Overall, this turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the year for me. Ignore the pre-release controversy and judge it after actually watching it. If you're looking for a romantic comedy with lovable characters, natural chemistry, emotional friendships, that family does not have to be blood related, and a satisfying happy ending, this drama is definitely worth your time.

Predictable, Imperfect, but Full of Heart

Our Sticky Love was honestly such a fun and heartwarming watch for me. It is not a drama with a complicated or groundbreaking story, and the plot is definitely predictable with quite a few familiar tropes, but somehow I still found myself enjoying the journey a lot. The combination of romance, comedy, action, and those wholesome small-town moments made it an easy drama to sit down and enjoy without overthinking everything.

What I enjoyed the most was the love story. Tae Ha and Eun Sae had a really sweet dynamic, and I liked how their relationship slowly developed from his protective lie into something genuine. Tae Ha was such a green-flag ML for me. He loved Eun Sae deeply but never tried to take advantage of her situation. Even when she started falling for him, he still wanted her to recover her memories and make her own decision about him. I especially loved how careful he was with her boundaries. His love for her felt sincere rather than possessive.

Tae Ha himself was probably my favorite character. He is quiet, reserved, and sometimes almost hilariously expressionless, but there is so much emotion underneath that exterior. His relationship with his grandmother was another part of his character that I really loved. So much of what he does comes from his love for her and his desire to protect her, even when it costs him everything. Jung Hae In did a great job balancing Tae Ha's softer side with his action scenes and his more serious past.

I also enjoyed Eun Sae more than I expected. I liked that she wasn't simply written as a helpless woman with amnesia. Even without remembering everything, her personality and instincts were still there. She questioned things, noticed inconsistencies, and didn't blindly accept everything Tae Ha told her. I actually enjoyed watching her slowly become suspicious and try to figure out what was really happening. Her confidence and stubbornness also gave their relationship some fun moments.

The village characters were another highlight for me. I genuinely enjoyed watching Eun Sae slowly build relationships with the people there. At first, there were plenty of arguments and misunderstandings, but those relationships gradually turned into genuine affection and support. Tae Ha's relationship with the villagers was also really touching. They cared about him, understood him, and were willing to stand beside him when things became difficult. Some of the funniest moments came from the villagers, and the way everyone eventually came together was one of the most wholesome parts of the drama.

My problem was that while I loved the *characters* from the village, the village itself often felt strangely bland and lifeless. Apart from the main cast and the supporting characters we already knew, there weren't enough people around to make it feel like an actual living community. It often felt like the village existed mainly as a setting for the characters rather than a real place where people lived. I wish we had seen more everyday life, more background characters, and more interaction that made the town feel alive.

The crime and action storyline was entertaining enough, although the plot itself was quite predictable. There were plenty of familiar tropes, including amnesia, fake dating, hidden identities, childhood connections, and criminal conspiracies. Some of the plot developments were also a little too convenient, and there were moments where the logic could have been stronger. Still, I didn't mind it too much because the romance and characters kept me invested.

I also appreciated that the drama didn't make every relationship unnecessarily toxic. Tae Ha's feelings for Eun Sae were genuine, and even though the situation began with a lie, his intentions were about protecting her rather than manipulating her for his own benefit. Their romance eventually became something much more mutual, and that was what worked for me.

The second couple, unfortunately, didn't convince me nearly as much. I liked the idea of their relationship, but I felt that there wasn't enough development to make their eventual romance feel completely earned. Their history and emotional problems were not explored deeply enough for me to become invested in their reconciliation. I kept wondering how I was supposed to believe that a psychiatrist could be so unable to understand or communicate the relationship issues between them. Their storyline needed more buildup, more explanation, and honestly more time together.

The drama also has some tonal issues. There are moments where you go from a cute and fluffy romantic scene straight into something much darker and violent. The contrast could be quite jarring sometimes. I actually enjoyed both sides of the drama, but I think the transitions could have been smoother.

Still, despite all those complaints, I really liked the overall experience. This is the kind of drama I would recommend when you want something fun, romantic, wholesome, and easy to watch. It made me laugh, gave me plenty of cute moments, and I genuinely became attached to the characters. The story may not be particularly original, but the romance gave it enough charm to make the predictable parts easy to overlook.

The ending was also satisfying, which definitely helped my overall impression. After everything the characters went through, I wanted something warm and happy, and the drama delivered that.

Overall, Our Sticky Love was not perfect, and I can understand why some people might find the plot too cliché or the village storyline too underdeveloped. But personally, I came for the romance and ended up staying for the characters. The village itself may have felt a little empty, the second couple needed much more development, and the plot could have been more original, but Tae Ha and Eun Sae's love story was sweet enough to make the whole journey worthwhile.

Sometimes I don't need a drama to reinvent the genre. Sometimes I just want good chemistry, characters I enjoy watching, some laughs, a little angst, and a happy ending. Our Sticky Love gave me exactly that.

Kadang cinta itu berbagai genre, kadang noir, kadang thriller, kadang komedi, kadang romantis.

Fyi, aku bukan tipikal ngereview setiap drama yg udah ku tonton, kalo emang punya waktu dan tergerak pengen ngereview atau engga emang lagi pengen nulis aja.

Ngeliat ini tuh karena Jung Haein yg jadi pemeran utamaya. Karena sebelumnya Haein masih melekat di aku semenjak aku jadi tim penonton on going Love Next Door akhirnya aku selalu ngikutin dia scr konsisten dg semua hal dan segala aktifitasnya.

Oke, kita masuk ke pov reviewku yaaa..
• Dari segi cerita menurutku cukup flop yaa *no salty plz* dengan pemberian 12 eps yg mengangkat cerita seringan dan sesimpel ini menurutku sangat cukup berdurasi panjang yaaa seriesnya dibuat sampe 12 eps, ada scene-scene yg menurutku punya screen time yg buanyak yg ga perlu tp dimasukkin aja biar durasinya lama. Jadi bikin bosen banget banget.
(jujur, aku sering ketiduran pas lihat ini. terus juga krn ceritanya yg mudah ringan dan mudah ditebak, jadi kayak ngerasa lama banget namatinnya)
• Dari segi makna yg diberikan menurutku relate, nuansa pedesaan dg segala huru-haranya ya relate, penyampaian makna drama cukup membangun (aku agak lupa eps berapa, pokoknya pas end-prolog Eunsae yg ku angkat jadi headline review ini btw dan pas scene neneknya nguatin Eunsae bilangin tentang makin panasnya tungku maka permennya makin kuat *cmiiw)
• Dari segi plot twistnyaa dapet pas di eps terakhir, lucunya juga so so but its okay
• Dari segi acting menurutku pas scene noir Haein tetep ketje sih (emang ku rasa dia cocok main genre action) kalo genre light ringan gini Jung Haein masih juarak di LND *mian (aku tau padahal Haein nyobain hal genre baru rom-com, 2nd choice ini, tapi yg di LND malah jadi one shoot alias ga keliatan kalo dia tuh juga lagi adaptasi, gong aku masih ketinggalan dia era LND)
• Ngomongin soal cerita yg diangkat, penyampaiannya, pasti akan engga jauh2 dg bangun penjiwaan peran aktingnya kann.. Nah kalo disini menurutku Haein disini banyak kaku kikunya sepanjang eps (iya, walaupun emang ngangkat peran yg blm pernah pacaran sama sekali, cuma kikuknya itulo keliatan banget. Bener2 yg tegang banget gituu?!! kurang luwes. Padahal aku nonton Haein yaa ga sekali dua kali liat dramanya, tapi disini keliatan bgt tegang kikuknya sampe ending. Apa mungkin kurang bangun chemistry sama lawan main? idk. Kalo dari segi akting Hayoun disini tuh dia kebanyak yg kayak serius gitu.. pas lagi scenenya komedi dia mimiknya kurang luwes dan masih keliatan tegang serius gitu. kalo dari segi keduanya dalam satu scene tuh kurang yg salting gitulo, ga balance ajaa.. emang sih sesuai judul kalo bakalan lengket, tapi mimik yg diutarakan tuh yg Hayoung ceria banyak maunya yg Haein kayak salting sendiri (?) salting yg kurang natural, maybe?

Overall yg sebelumnya pas eps 2/3 aku kasih 7,5/10 setelah namatin dan tau endingnya aku ngasih 7/10 hehe cukup lama namatinnya tapi beres juga. Sekian.

A script from 2010 only got made in 2026

The whole shows premise with cohabitation and amnesia is peak 2010 or maybe even before that. Was I entertained? Yes
Did I like the characters? Yes
Will I rewatch? I doubt it but who knows.

I think the script was as good as it gets for this premise. I doubt it can be improved further. Compared to other recent shows like my royal nemesis and dynamite kiss, this show manages to keep a good pace. There was no rush towards a happy ending. It was consistent throughout.

The actors were all well cast and suited to their roles. ML was reserved and rather shy but I guess if he was anything else he would’ve been considered a creep. I think the way the FL reciprocated his love quickly was a little out of character given the fact she was a star prosecutor and had a boyfriend in her pre-amnesia world. But I enjoyed the blossoming romance. She was very good in comedy. It reminded me of strong girl bong soon, the cute romcom scenes. But ML was just a bit more boring in this.

The villain was your typical gangster. They went for the almighty plot twist. The hero being the villain’s son. It was giving Star Wars but did I gasp? Oh yes I did. Sometimes these old fashioned tropes are what these dramas need.

Our grandma from every kdrama was here too. At 89 she’s as bright as ever. Loved every moment she was in. Her scenes were the most heartwarming.

The wedding scene was just pure nostalgia. These newer dramas don’t have time for it even if they’re 1.5 hr 12/14 episodes but this one managed to have time to sort the villain out and have a good half an episode to give everyone a nice ending.

SOMETHING UNEXPECTED - A GOOD DRAMA

I enjoyed it more than I expected. The storyline is something I’ve never seen before. I like the plot twist we had in the last 2 episodes. Since the genre is Romcom, I can understand having the funny scenes. But it would be better, if they didn’t add such ones (esp silly ones) and focus on dark genre. It would be so lit, ig! However, if I look at from the another perspective, the Romcom with dark genre is very rare. So, I think they did it well, without ruining it. The Leads did so well. I don’t know why people don’t like FL. I see no negative points. I am so happy that I can see ML’s drama with a good plot again. Unexpectedly, I like BSG’s character. However, instead of using a typical troop of fleeing from the jail, they should just let him know about his son before he was sent to the jail. And the Cameo part, I love it. Overall, a good drama. Should not miss. 👍🏻

Really felt like I am back to 2016

I'd like to start off this this by saying that I've been in a kdrama slump for a while now and to say that this kdrama hooked me is an understatement. Eventhough there are mixed reviews, I think going in blind was the best thing I did, because now It became one of my favorite kdrama in a village/countryside setting.

Ep1 took off and the opening part was very interesting enough to hook me but I think what really sold me was the cinematography of the village scenes and the humor of the show.

Overall it felt like I was back to the 2016 era of kdrama in a way? It had a complete story (no plotholes), a mix of genres I love (romcom and thriller/action all in one) and amazing cast supporting characters and all. Also first time I enjoyed an amnesia plotline.

Typical With One Exception

At first I thought, " If Sold Out On You and Vincenzo got married and had a baby it would be Our Sticky Love." It even reminded me a little of the American movie Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. But as the characters in Taffy Village came into the picture, it became its own voice.

This drama had all the hallmarks of the typical rom com Kdrama, with one exception. The criminal part of the storyline. For those, sometimes like me, who say in a review that they wished the writer would have gone deeper into a character's storyline, this is the drama for you. At first, the digging deeper is into Tae Ha's past as we find out why he ditched boxing and became a gangster. But then, the digging deeper is in the antagonist Sang Gil, the criminal who employs Tae Ha. And we find out how these two, who seemingly have so little in common, are in fact connected quite a bit. To be honest, this was the storyline I liked the most about the entire drama. It is a story of trauma turned to anger, turned to greed and viciousness, and finally turned to deep regret. It is also the twist in the story I did not see coming. It was a nice surprise amongst all the predictability of this typical Kdrama. Well done to actor Heo Sung Tae in his portrayal of the dastardly Baek Sang Gil in the present, and to Song Geon Hee (one of my favorite actors) who plays the younger, and more vulnerable, Sang Gil showing how his abusive upbringing launched him into a life of crime.

This drama was more than typical because within the romantic, comedy cliche's of the Kdrama rom com was a story about a father and son. It was poignant and sad standing in stark contrast to the merriment around it.

This drama has a stellar cast, some of the all time greats of Kdramas and they all bring their A-game to the story. Then there are some surprises like Lee Jun Young who brilliantly played Kaito and was such a nice addition to the drama.

The story will seem to wrap up around episode 10, but stick with it. I almost dropped it, but decided to watch 11 thinking I would fast forward through it. Turns out it was my favorite episode.
