One of the Best Variety Show
I absolutely loved this show. Currently rewatching it cuz I just can’t get enough. Originally came for Liu Yuning, Gong Jun and Wang Yuen but every cast member was phenomenal. Their natural chemistry was so pleasant to experience. I have laughed so much my sides hurt. When Lin Yi joined oooh quickly became one of my faves. Him being the Cantonese black hole was peak cinema, I laughed so hard and rewatched his scenes a gazillion times. I truly hope we get a season 2 of the same cast cuz the chemistry was chemistrying🔥🤌🏾Was this review helpful to you?
Travel Adventure
This is a truly enjoyable show to watch. I found the show because I saw Liu Yuning in so many YouTube videos while the show was filming in Europe. I was intrigued. I began to wonder about his clothing choices, Lemon printed Hawaiian style shirts didn't match his style. What's up with that? Not only do I get to travel vicariously through the cast and learn about other countries, we get to experience a different side of the actors just being themselves. While some of the content is lost on me due to a culture gap (popular Chinese songs in games) the spontaneous comedic moments often have you laughing so hard you're brought to tears. It was heart warming to watch the actors genuine interactions, cooking together, playing, their reactions to local cuisine and building camaraderie. Great show ❤️ When JunJun has to leave to shoot a series, get out your box of tissues. He brings a joyful warmth to the show, the shark song 😂, so his departure brought some vulnerable moments with genuine emotions. He's adorable.
I hope this show has many more seasons, (hopefully with Liu Yuning) there are so many countries to explore with excellent cuisine. I'd love them to visit some of the amazing locations in South America like the ancient ruins of Peru, Lake Titicaca, Cuzco, The Mexican Riviera, Puerto Vallarta, etc. Cheers to more travel adventures.

From Hilarious Moments to Heartfelt Goodbyes: A Show I'll Miss
I started watching this show for Ouyang Didi, drawn to her personality in Wonderland Season 5, and Liu Yuning, one of my favorite actors and singers. But the moment I watched the first episode, I realized this wasn’t just a regular variety show. There were no “hidden” or shy members hanging back—everyone fully participated. Remarkably, there was no sense of seniority or superiority, even among the veteran actors. Despite their experience and age, the veterans blended seamlessly with the rest of the cast. I had initially worried that they might intimidate the other members, but they were genuinely hilarious and perfectly balanced within the group. Whoever handled casting truly did an exceptional job.
They were so funny that I found myself laughing so hard I got yelled at for laughing too loudly! x.x The games were an absolute joy to watch, and I smiled and laughed nonstop at their jokes and funny moments. When all of them broke out of their shells and the awkwardness between them disappeared, it was the highlight for me. We got to see the best version of themselves—comfortable, relaxed, and having fun. Despite the age gap between the oldest and youngest members, it genuinely felt like a group of college students enjoying an unforgettable trip together.
The chemistry among Gong Jun, Liu Yuning, Chen Xing Xu, Wang Yu Wen, Li Nai Wen, Sun Hong Lei, Chen He, Ouyang Didi, and the two amazing guests, Jolin Jin and Lin Yi, was phenomenal. Every week, I found myself looking forward to Sunday and Monday with immense anticipation. Watching an episode became the highlight of my week, making every challenging workday completely worth it.
When the last two episodes were released, I deliberately saved the final one for last. I was genuinely nervous about finishing the show and saying goodbye to a cast I had grown so attached to. I hope to see them again for Season 2, hopefully with the same cast!

Amazing Casts that created a "Family-like" Bond through a Variety Show
I originally watched this for Liu Yuning, but I ended up loving the entire cast. The cast is amazing. Most of them were unfamiliar with each other except for some duos like Liu Yuning & Gong Jun, Xing Xu & Yuwen, and Chen He & Sun Hong Lei. But right from the start, they built up natural chemistry. As the show went on, their closeness grew, creating great dynamics, there was never an awkward pairing. Each cast member had their own role, and no one overlapped. What stood out was how genuinely close they became; living overseas, sharing the same dorm, and seeing each other daily clearly bonded them, just as Liu Yuning mentioned in the last episode.
The games were fun and entertaining. However, I’m giving this a 9 instead of 10 for the story because the show’s title, Wow the World, didn’t fully reflect the concept. While they traveled to various countries, the focus on local culture or the destination was minimal and most of the runtime went into the games. The only place where the setting was highlighted more meaningfully was the final stop in Xi’an, China. This might have been due to production’s lack of connections or research for the overseas locations.
Additional Review on Liu Yuning:
Since I’m a LYN's fan, I have to add this part. I really liked how reliable he was throughout the show, often cooking for the group and looking after them. As Hong Lei ge pointed out, he has this parental look about him where he adores the younger cast members, and at the same time the older casts also adore him back, especially the fondness Hong Lei ge always showed toward him. Also, his interactions with Gong Jun were really cute, especially in the last episode. You can tell Gong Jun is really his a cute little brother to him.
I can’t wait for the next season and hopefully with all of the regular casts!

Great travel show!
Stumbled on this show through my YouTube algorithm and completely fell in love and had to download the WeTV app to continue watching the episodes (highly recommend as YouTube subs aren’t great compared to the AI subs on the app which I found surprisingly accurate for most parts). Anyway, the cast is great, everyone is well-known in China and has great personality and variety show skills, in their own way! I know most of them from dramas, so their variety show skills became a shock to me (in a good way because of how funny they were)! Each and every episode is non-skippable, and having caught up to date, I would definitely recommend it to all Chinese show watchers!💕Was this review helpful to you?
I loved
*"At first, I came to watch *World of Words* mainly because of Liu Yuning. But soon, I fell in love with every character — especially Simon Gong, whose warm and genuine personality touched my heart in such a special way. Eventually, I grew attached to everyone on the show. Now that it’s over, I feel a deep emptiness. This journey was unforgettable."*
