More Invested in the Side Couple Than the Leads

Harmony Secret was decent overall, but I ended up being more invested in the side couple than the main one. The main couple’s breakup felt forced, especially since it was tied to their bosses’ separation—something that didn’t really make sense emotionally. In contrast, the side couple had better chemistry and were far more engaging to watch.

I also think the series should have included a trigger warning for sexual assault, as there were multiple scenes where the main character was placed in situations that could have led to it. The acting, while not terrible, was mostly average.

I enjoyed the series mainly because of the side couple. The main romance didn’t fully work for me since their relationship developed without clearly showing emotional buildup in the past. I understand that being rivals was part of the story’s intention, but the lack of visible romantic tension made it harder to connect with their relationship.

The Uncut Version Changes Everything

Honestly, before watching the uncut version, Harmony Secret didn’t fully work for me. Some scenes felt confusing or incomplete, and certain moments simply didn’t hit the way they were supposed to. However, after watching the full, uncut version, the series gained a completely different meaning.

Many of the scenes that were cut from the YouTube version are not just extra content – they are actually important for the story and for the relationship development between the characters. That’s why I strongly recommend watching the uncut version, as it provides a much better experience and stronger narrative continuity.

Story-wise, the series starts with a lot of tension and strong energy between the characters, although the pacing does slow down toward the end. That said, the secondary couple absolutely deserves praise – their story and development are beautiful and genuinely engaging, making them one of the highlights of the show.

Despite its flaws, I still view Harmony Secret positively overall. As a bonus, I highly recommend watching the cast reactions on YouTube, as they add extra insight and give you a deeper perspective on the series.

This plot is SO good. I was really excited to watch this since the pilot im pretty sure?? Acting was so good we dont even need to argue with that. Their relationship honestly hurt but it was expected. I wish we had more episodes though. I feel like it was rush, specially the last epidode even though I did enjoy the last episode a lot.

Lets talk about the last episode while on the topic. Rachen should literally get out. He abused Ai for some reason??? I'm really glad he got the worse ending ever but honestly for me that wasnt bad enough. But forget Rachen, HOW MAY HANDLED AI BEING DR*GGED... I've never seen a greener flag. She refused to give Ai what the dr*g wanted so she threw her in the pool so she could calm down. I've never seen this happen in any thai show i've watched and this is honestly the only right way to do it. (KinnPorsche should learn from them)

Captivating

I will admit that I am new to GLs after watching mostly BLs.

I really enjoyed the production, although i did have a hard time believing that any of these outfits were work-wear (but that is a recurring issue with any drama set in a workplace.

I really felt the chemistry between Lookmhee and Sonya and loved watching as their characters went through a full spectrum of emotions together. I really felt for Ai and Mae as they tried to navigate their work and their growing feelings for each other. Even though Mae frustrated me at times, I felt like her motivations made sense. I spent the whole time rooting for them and found myself desperate to know what happened next.

I also loved the second couple - and not just because Belle is so cute. I felt like their relationship was also realistic, their issues seemed to be very well linked the main story. To be honest, sometimes I found myself wishing they would just communicate better, but they both had their own reasons and motivations.

The overall plot was interesting, I found the corporate espionage element interesting, and even without the romance i would have probably watched it to see what would happen.

Overall, this was a great time and I can see myself re-watching this in the future and the title song was a banger.

Style but no substance

THE GOOD:

The second couple is amazing

Lookmhee is an amazing lead

The soundtrack has some bangers

THE BAD:

Nothing to care about. Characters have almost nothing compelling about them at all. Most don't even get a setup. Most won't get any motivations for why they do anything at all. Which is especially rough when there is not even any transition into people getting together, just *blast music* and start making out -- that's all audiences want right? :(

Tons of SA scenes and references treated completely flippantly. Some writer really just pulls the same card out every time to make someone "wronged" and feed the tension. Or worse, it isn't even treated like a big deal. Roofies? Screaming r*pe just to get your way? These are things that THE LOVE INTERESTS do to each other and never acknowledge as wrong.

The writing in general is very bad. Which is extra painful since the story centers on the premise of its business and conflict plotlines, which requires writing. Regularly characters act in inexplicable ways just to move the story along to the next scene.

Whole plot points are just dropped. Why was her mom sobbing? Is it really okay to roofie someone you love and never tell them and never apologize? Is it okay to beat your kids and threaten the life of their best friend if being a dad is "hard"? Another dad is going to gaslight his daughter into thinking he's dying so he can manipulate her but we just never acknowledge it or come back to it. The list could go on, but at some point the reviewer is putting in more energy than the writers ever did.

Especially disappointing is the writing for the FL, without a proper setup or motivation, she just comes across as entitled and immature. Her whole thing is that she wants to take her dad's job right out of college with zero experience, lmao, and wants to force people to accept it in one go by getting this deal as proof that she "deserves" it. She will go on to do nothing at all related to the business the whole time, other than trying to seduce one competitor. And for some reason make a whole point that she won't work with anyone because it will diminish her "accomplishment". The entire accomplishment this show is centered on is just picking a number for a bid.

Once the characters start fighting, the reasons for it are thin and don't even bother to engage the majority of the wrongs they actually did to each other. Each side mentions 1 wrong and thats all we will go on for 3 or 4 breakups. And for whatever reason one feels like she is way more wronged, even though she really isn't.

All around just no reason to care about the characters or the plot.

Well except for the second leads, I would watch a whole show about them. Too bad they get dropped for the entire middle arc. In fact the leads become so self involved that they don't even ever find out their assistants are dating. Can you imagine ending a show and not even bothering to include the leads ever even finding out about the second couple? It's not like they're strangers, they are your best friends and assistants. Was this even a romance drama? Just whiff whiff whiff.

The sound engineering at times gets carried away trying to be "cool" with some kind of styling for what it thinks suits rich/nightlife themes of this show. It can be quite jarring.

Villains are all one note performances. Get used to that face they're making, because they arent going to change expression ever.

LookmheeSonya and Change did it again!!

The story was expanded from the novel to include more of the business aspect, which is great. Good integration of the business and romance plots to make an engaging story with clear conflicts. They give a decent amount of backstory, even for the side characters so you're invested in everybody. FIRE SOUNDTRACK!! Multiple songs with different vibes and they were sprinkled well throughout the series. Lookmhee and Sonya pulled through once again, but also very satisfied with Lilly and Belle's performance. The main 4 actresses had great chemistry, not only within their respective pairs, but with each other.
DO NOT recommend this to anyone that is looking to start their GL journey because their standards will be set too high lmao.
