there wasn't a single episode that didn't make me laugh and smile throughout whole series. i loved it 💕 both the series and the acting of leads, especially duang and his friends. Review: Duang With You — A Masterpiece of Love, Healing, and Quiet Strength

There are shows you watch, and then there are shows you live through.
Duang With You is the latter.

From the very first episode to its final moments, this series proves that great storytelling isn’t about rushing to a climax—it’s about taking the time to let emotions breathe, characters grow, and love unfold naturally.

What makes Duang With You truly exceptional is its ability to balance tones so effortlessly. It’s a rom-com, yes—but beneath the humor and lighthearted chaos lies something much deeper. The series carries melodrama, trauma, healing, and emotional vulnerability with such care that nothing ever feels exaggerated or forced. Every laugh is earned, and every tear feels real.

At the heart of the story are Duang and Qin—two characters written with incredible depth and brought to life through phenomenal acting and direction.

Duang is, without exaggeration, one of the most memorable characters in bl history. He is funny, expressive, chaotic, and sometimes adorably annoying—but beneath all that is a person with unwavering emotional strength. His love is not loud in a demanding way, but steady and patient. He doesn’t love to receive—he loves to give. And more importantly, he loves without conditions.

Qin, on the other hand, carries a quiet, heavy pain. His past—marked by emotional neglect and abuse—shapes the way he sees the world and relationships. The series does not rush his healing, nor does it simplify his trauma. Instead, it allows us to witness his journey slowly: the hesitation, the walls, the fear of vulnerability. And that is what makes his connection with Duang so powerful.

Because Duang With You is not just a love story—it is a story about learning how to be loved.

Watching Qin gradually accept the care and warmth that Duang offers is one of the most rewarding emotional arcs in the series. The love that Duang gives, freely and without expectation, becomes something transformative—not just romantic, but deeply human.

Beyond the main couple, the series shines in its portrayal of friendships and side characters. Each individual feels purposeful, with their own personalities, struggles, and emotional journeys. The bonds between them add richness to the narrative, making the world feel real and lived-in.

Visually, the series is just as compelling. The direction is thoughtful, often choosing quiet moments over dramatic excess. The use of lighting, framing, and pacing enhances the emotional weight of scenes, allowing viewers to truly sit with the characters’ feelings.

But perhaps what makes Duang With You unforgettable is the way it stays with you.
It becomes part of your routine, something you look forward to, something that brings comfort. And when it ends, it leaves behind a quiet emptiness—like saying goodbye to people who felt real.

In the end, Duang With You is a reminder that love doesn’t always arrive perfectly. Sometimes, it comes gently, persistently, and patiently—like Duang himself—waiting for the right moment to be accepted.

And when it is, it changes everything.

A Soft Slow Burn That Gets It Right

Duang With You is the kind of BL that keeps things simple—and that’s exactly why it works. It follows Duang, a cheerful and determined design student, who falls in love at first sight with Qin, a reserved and emotionally distant music major. Instead of forcing instant romance, the series takes its time, turning a one-sided crush into something mutual, earned, and deeply comforting.

The highlight of the show is the chemistry between Duang and Qin. Their dynamic is built on contrast—Duang is warm, open, and persistent, while Qin is quiet, guarded, and slow to trust. But what makes this pairing click is consistency. Duang doesn’t just chase—he listens, adjusts, and respects boundaries. Qin, on the other hand, doesn’t suddenly change; his emotional growth unfolds gradually, making every shift feel real.

The push-and-pull between them creates a gentle tension without ever becoming toxic. Qin allows Duang to try, which reframes the “persistent pursuer” trope into something more consensual and healthy. It becomes less about chasing and more about earning space in someone’s life.

The slow burn is handled well. Their connection develops through shared moments, especially during a performance project that brings them closer. The intimacy is subtle—quiet glances, shared silences, and small gestures—making their eventual closeness feel natural and rewarding.

The supporting cast deserves a mention too. Their friends are refreshingly normal, supportive, and genuinely invested in both Duang and Qin. The series also does a good job showing how their family backgrounds shaped who they are, adding emotional context to their actions.

Overall, Duang With You doesn’t reinvent the genre, but it executes familiar tropes with care and sincerity. It’s light, fluffy, and emotionally grounded—a comfort watch that quietly stays with you.

the fluffiest bl series ever

This is the best heartwarming bl series I've ever watched. I thought this series is just overrated that's why I didn't start watching it soon but then I thought to give it a try and I just fell in love.
the casting was great, chemistry was also amazing.
there was no cringey things at allll trust me
and if you think that duang was cringe then you're just jealous nothing else.
every series gave me butterfly on my stomach. there was not even one episode where I didn't feel butterfly in my stomach.
it was just too perfect and I didn't had to skip the singing part. both of their voices were soooooooo goooooodd instead of skipping I just wanted to listen more when they were singing.
and there was not too much nc which was a good thing and the nc scenes felt pretty natural.
duang had a cute personality and qin's personality was pretty cool
and they showed a good family scene were they wanted to show that money can't buy love from children for parents, parents need to give love and care to get love in return. but one thing felt incomplete that they only gave duangqin a happy ending but others didn't get it, Jamiemarvis' ending was kinda odd because they didn't became boyfriends
and I thought tong and pae will be a couple but they didn't focus on that.
overall a great series with cute story, good music, not traumatic series. it's a must watch series so you should just go and watch it.

Puppy Love

Absolutely loved this series, Duang smile just lit up my day,. Both friend groups were supportive and sweet, loved Jamie’s daft run and how Pae kept kicking him.. the families were so kind and I just loved Duang mother.
Kla is so supportive of his actors as I got to see in the behind them scenes episode, he acts so well himself, I’ve seen him in a number of things now,
The romance was so ultra sweet at the end it was wonderful to see Qinn open up to Duang after all his effort.. and personally I love all the daft wee sounds and mannerisms of all the cast.

not the best?

No... this drama is the best. In fact, it is really really good. I fear that I've found another gem, a drama that comes around and there won't be anything like it for a long time. Watching these shows are always bittersweet to me, miraculously I watched it while airing.. and the only thing I don't like is that it is over! That isn't to say there isn't any flaws. A 10/10 for me is again, a drama that does it's 'job' but goes beyond that. It is a once in a lifetime drama, unique- not perfect- but checks all the marks for me and entertains me to my core. My very being was this drama during it's run time. Now that it is over, it shaped my outlooks on the genre and so on... so let me explain.

So.. I wasn't waiting for this one. Duang with You dropped its trailer and I thought it was cute, so I tuned in. It only took an episode for me to realize that this was perfectly crafted for someone like me. When I say that I mean it is entertaining me on all fronts. It has great visuals, comedy, writing, and beneath all that it is simply layered with attention to detail. It even got me reading the novel, and I can say this is an adaptation well done. Reminds me of My School President in a way of its charm, and by how I like the drama adaptation better than the source material. Props to the screenwriters for it, adapting this novel is hard work since is reads as more of journal entries. Putting it together in a drama took a lot of creativity, and I can tell it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I am just feeling bad for everyone involved because they will never be able to work together on anything like this again, in terms of the cast being in one drama...

I am just going through some sort of withdrawal here so bear with me. I am writing because I feel like it is sort of my duty to at least give this a 10/10 here because of how much I've enjoyed my life while watching this. The atmosphere does it for me, it is a college setting- but somehow... it is not cliche- at all?

I give it to Duang and his friends for that. Duang byfar is my favorite character, and I think TeeTee was born for the role. He has charm, wit, and sincerely understands the role he has here. Duang would come off as annoying and would if the actor didnt' go over the fine line between annoyance and endearing. But TeeTee plays is flawlessly, not awkardly, no hiccups, it's just enjoyable. I was smiling a lot for his scenes, and putting him together with Por is a matchmade in heaven. Another pairing that I didn't see coming, as now BL is in the age where couples are put together and I look for those dramas with couples I like. Thankfully I gave this one a chance, and now I have another pairing that I would die for.

You can tell they really like eachother. Tee and Por I mean.. they are naturally good looking together, and naturally have fun together. A lot of work behind the scenes to grow that chemistry. The whole cast has great chemistry. I was really happy to see how the friend groups work together, and I wasn't bored in those scenes either. Every second in this drama I enjoyed and stayed tuned it. There is this genuine feeling when watching the cast together, I see the actors having fun so I am. It comes down to everything just coming together really. The writing was carefully done, pre and post production, and in the end a spectacular drama came out of it. I wonder if the crew involved knew that they would have something this good, or if they were suprised? It is hard to explain it really... but it isn't my job to overanalyze editing and all that... my job here is to just share that I love this drama and I feel bad for those who don't come across it.

The best and so good!!!

Absolute perfection. This easily became my favorite BL of all time. The story, the acting, the characters, the music, everything about it I loved. I recommend it so highly. This is going to be a long review, so buckle in.

The story:
I loved that if there was any conflict at all, it was solved so quickly. No miscommunication, no drawn-out plotlines that felt unnecessarily long, no breakups, none of it. Those things are almost always in dramas and especially BL's and this time there was none of it. The friendships felt so real and natural. Daung, Jamie, and Pae, might just be one of my favorite friend groups I've ever seen. I love how supportive of each other they were, how much they joked around with each, there for each other, etc. They truly felt like a real friend group. Even though we didn't see Qin, Tong, and Kim hang out as much, I really liked their friend group as well. Both were complete opposites of each other in some ways, but I think that is one of the reasons it was so enjoyable. I really loved the friendship Jamie and Qin had by the end of the show too. They really became besties and I love that. I think the show progressed at the perfect pace too. I loved how long each episode was and even though they were long, they still went by so fast. I love that the entire story took place over a years' time. It showed how much time has really passed and showed that nothing happened immediately and took time, which made it feel more realistic.

The characters and actors:
1. Duang and TeeTee! Nobody could've played Duang except 2Tee. He was the perfect Duang. 2Tee did such an incredible job. He made me laugh, made me emotional, made me feel all the emotions throughout the series. He is such an incredible actor. Duang has got to be one of the greenest flags ever. He's just the best. I love Duang with all my heart. He's so kind and caring and funny and was just so enjoyable as a main character. Loved him so much!
2. Qin and Por! I've loved Por since Your Sky and was hoping to see him in something else and little did I know it would become my favorite. Por did an incredible job as Qin. I, like I said with Duang and TeeTee, don't think anyone else could've played Qin except for Por. I loved Qin so much and loved seeing how he grew and changed throughout the story. I loved seeing him open up more and more to Duang and then get to open up to his parents as well. So beautiful. I love how much we got to hear him sing as well.
3. Jamie and North! North absolutely killed this. I didn't know North before this, and I am so glad this introduced him to me. I love him so much now. As for Jamie, I loved him so much too. Jamie was so funny. I loved seeing him with Duang, Pae, Qin, and especially Marvis. I just think Jamie was such a fun character.
4. Marvis and Otto! Again, this was my first time seeing Otto and GOD DAMN! I wish I knew him sooner. He killed it as this c*nty little diva. I loved Marvis a lot. He's so sassy but caring at the same time.
5. Pae and Wave! Once again, my first time seeing him and instantly fell hard. I loved Pae so much. He was so funny! I wish he was in the show more. The second half of the show especially felt like he definitely became more of a background character, but I kept wanting more. Either way love him, love Wave. He did an amazing job as Pae.

Couples:
1. Duang and Qin! COUPLE GOALS!! Where do I find this? They are such a perfect couple. They balance each other out so well in so many ways. They're helping each other grow in so many ways too. Best couple. I've never seen a couple in a show/movie feel so natural and real like them. From bigger moments between them down to the littlest kisses and gestures, they felt so realistic. They were such a true representation of what a healthy and in love couple looks like. I could talk about them forever.
2. Jamie and Marvis! I loved every scene between them, I just wish we got more!! I loved every time they came on screen together, but there wasn't enough. I'm hoping we get a special episode or something so we can see more of them (and hopefully actually get a kiss this time). I loved all their scenes though so much. The sexual tension was so strong. I loved seeing them have sweet moments too and see them start to fall for each other more and more.
3. Pae and Tong! (Yes, I'm putting them in the couple category) I thought we'd get more of these two together, even if they weren't going to get together in the show, I thought we would just see more of them together, but we really didn't. Pae kept mentioning a partner and with the whole Cherry thing I really thought they were going in that direction, but I guess not. If we get a special ep I hope they get at least some kind of scene just the two of them.

Overall, I just can't say enough good things about this show. It was incredible. I'm writing this on the first Saturday without Duang with You and I'm still so sad to see it done. I'm really hoping for a special because I don't want to be done with any of these characters yet. I fell in love with all the characters and actors and miss it so much already. I've had the music on repeat since they all dropped on streaming. I could genuinely talk about this show forever, but I'll end with this. Duang with You's thing is "not the best but still good" but this series truly was the best. I can't wait to rewatch.

Very entertaining & a cute romance

I believe both of main actors did an amazing job and portraying their characters from the novel. The show follows the novel almost to a T, which is always nice to see. However, I would argue that the show did an even better job. Outside of the main actors, everyone else also did an amazing job.
The storyline was fun to follow along with and I was able to really connect with the characters and the actors of this show. There are some cringey moments, but those are apart of the characters as they were written.
I also think that the building of the relationship between the two main characters was really well done. It was a gradual build up & by the end, the two characters were extremely close.
I would say that this is mostly a cute romance, but there is also added depth to the characters and emotional scenes.
Overall, it was extremely well done and I really enjoyed it!

BEST OF THE BEST!!!

Honestly, I’m not really into BL, but this series completely caught me off guard and pulled me in so hard. I didn’t expect to get this invested, yet here I am, totally obsessed with the characters, their chemistry, and the story itself. It even pushed me to write a review for the first time ever, which says a lot about how much I enjoyed it. Definitely something I didn’t see coming, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance.

THE REASON WHY IM GIVING THIS SERIES A 10/10 in all components is because, the series it self is peak, Ok first of all the main story, this is a story about duang's life, a normal student majoring in arts, and its also about qin who majors in music. Duang is a extroverted boy who has alot of friends, because his friendly ofc. And then one day he fell in love at first sight (with qin). I will not spoil any further. Ok second one the actors,The actor of duang is Teetee and fhe actor of qin is Por. I honestly like it because Teetee is just like duang. Now lets continue to the third part is the plot, where alot of things happened I will not spoil but I tell you the plot is obviously awesome!! Now the last but not the least:

WHY IM TRULY GIVING THIS SERIES A 10/10- Its because this series is like reflecting to my own self, I feel totally connected to the characters Qin and Duang Specifically,I act like duang, I don't logically fell emotions like por, I am very confident like duang, I have family issues like por, and so many more.... Gosh this feels like im spoiling you guys about their characteristics, but im telling you this series is not only worth it, but one of the most BEAUTIFUL SERIES IVE KNOWN SO FAR! So if you haven't watched yet I am recommending you on watching Duang with you, and if your new to the bl community I highly recommend you to watch this as your first ever series I promise you its worth it

INSANELY WELL MADE SHOW!!!

The plot as everyone knows may not be something new but it's the execution, chemistry and all the little details that make it a 10/10. Like from the start we see two characters Duang and Qin being absolute polar opposites but gradually Qin starts to warm up to Duang and Duang starts to learn many things from Qin too. TeeteePor have executed these characters so well I don't think anyone else could've done justice to DuangQin as TeeteePor did. They were INCREDIBLE. AND THE OSTS???? ABSOLUTE BANGERS EACH OF THEM!! Loved this show fr
