Not the most original premise, but the leads make it worth every minute so far.
Someone mentioned it had the same energy as Mr. Queen, and that was enough. I loved Mr. Queen — the sharp humor, the body-swap chaos, the way it somehow managed to be ridiculous and genuinely moving at the same time. That drama set a high bar for the genre, and I have been chasing that feeling ever since.I will be honest — Lim Ji-yeon was not the reason I clicked play. But Heo Nam-jun was. After Perfect Crown wrapped and left a quiet gap in my watch list, I needed something to fill the space. This felt like the right kind of gamble.
The cast
Lim Ji-yeon (Shin Seo-ri / Kang Dan-sim): She was not on my radar coming in, but she carries the dual role with more confidence than I expected. There is something in the way she shifts between the modern Seo-ri and the Joseon Dan-sim — a stillness in one, a controlled ferocity in the other — that makes the possession premise feel less gimmicky than it has any right to be.
Heo Nam-jun (Cha Se-gye): This is the performance I came for, and so far he has not disappointed. He plays arrogance without making it exhausting, which is a harder balance than it looks. There is something quietly watchable about him — a restrained quality that makes you lean in rather than tune out.
Episodes 1–4
The first four episodes move fast, almost defiantly so, and the comedy lands more often than it misses. The Joseon villainess adjusting to modern Seoul is the kind of premise that could easily tip into tired repetition, but the writing keeps finding new angles — a binged drama series here, a confrontation that goes sideways there. It does not take itself too seriously, and that lightness carries it through the moments where the plot feels familiar.
The premise is not new. Spirit possession, time displacement, enemies circling each other until something shifts — we have seen this shape before. But familiarity is not always a flaw. Sometimes it is simply the container, and what matters is what gets poured into it.
The love story has not fully bloomed yet. But there is something there — a tension in the early scenes between the leads that feels earned rather than manufactured. I am watching for what happens when the walls start coming down.

in for a ride
Thought it would be good and didn't disappoint. Haven't watched a romcom this good since My Love From the Star. Solid fast paced plot to keep you hooked with themes of reincarnation and a mix of mystery, comedy, romance and allure to top it off. If you're sick of the classic damsel in distress and prince in shining armour cliche this one pulls a refreshing twist that still keeps the magic with a darker villainous edge. All I can say is buckle up, because you're definitely in for a ride. Was this review helpful to you?
Lot of fun, great chemistry
I have watched the first two episodes and let me tell you, I have not laughed so much watching kdrama in a long time. Some of the scenes were so out of pocket, it was awesome. The story is very intriguing so far but the best thing has to be the main lead chemistry.I was pleasantly surprised by the ML. He projects his arrogance so well and is very magnetic. The FL just compells you with her wit, perseverance and her absolutely infectious will to live. They have a great chemistry together and I am looking forward to more episodesWas this review helpful to you?
What’s with her acting?
I think it’s a cute drama and I will be finishing it even though some people have mentioned the last episodes are not as good. My issue is with the FL. I think she was badly cast. She has a villainous face. Her eyes are harsh and unsettling. I can’t get past her character in The Glory. I think she did a great job in that role. In this drama though she feels out of place. I know her character in this role is supposed to be a bit harsh and from a different era. But the way she walks and the way she constantly avoids eye contact with people when she’s speaking to them doesn’t come off as her being pensive or having a faraway or distant gaze which is probably what she was going for. It looks like a bad imitation of attorney woos autistic mannerisms. It’s off putting and makes me not enjoy her scenes in this drama. Was this review helpful to you?
funny, charismatic and a bit confusing
this is not the show if you are looking for well explained time travel concepts. it explains just enough to let you know what happened. however, the details go overlooked or not fully flashed out for the most part, especially towards a somewhat rushed end that at least ends well enough to be satisfying.does it matter that some concepts are not flashed out? well, it depends on you. for me it didn't erase my enjoyment at all. the romcom was romcomming. the male lead was down bad the whole time. he truly said: "this woman is crazy and i want to scream at the top of my lungs how obsessed i am." shin seori didn't fall behind. a little weird but so full of hope and life, so energetic and also not a damsel in distress when it mattered. full of will and amazingly acted, too!
them together? an amazing watch, very compelling even when everything around them never reached the same level of character study (and thus, my care/appreciation). if you are here for the romance, then the dish is delicious. if you want a more complex story... well, go to another restaurant.

Too many episodes, not enough material
This isn't isolated to just this drama. Story was good but they ran out of material by the 10th episode and fluffed up the show with pointless story arcs and unnecessary elongations like long stares into the screen. It makes what would have been an enjoyable show painful. This 500 word requirement is so pointless.

As perfect as a film can be
I was awed at the amazing performances by all actors in this comedy/drama. Miss Ji Yeon is a powerful actress. Miss Seo An gave me reason to dislike her in the beginning but adore her by the final episode. Miss Hae Sook was amazing. I felt sad for the character throughout the film. Both top actors (Ji Yeon and Nam Jun) gave me a reason to smile at their chemistry. I wondered about the outcome of the film, but by the final few episodes, the plot twist made sense. The writer was not selfish with his imagination. The will to express different outcomes in her story telling gave me a reason to absolutely love "My Royal Nemesis". I would watch it again. Hyped and loud
I was very eagerly waiting for this show to telecast as Netflix tried pushing very hard on this, so far watched 4 episodes apart from first episode none of them had anything interesting after second episode , I had already lost the interest.I thought I will give another 2 episodes as kdramas are slow to pickup sometimes but nope, nothing interesting happening FL is too loud, ML is expression less
And backforth between past and present is too much mental overload

Why did I start before it was finished?
At the 8 episode mark I asked that myself because I was invested and interested, at the end I ask that because, damn, this Kdrama fell into all the possible traps.8th ep.:
It’s refreshing to watch a funny kdrama because it was written to be funny and because actors can deliver the material. Although I can not tell you “why” I find it so laugh out loud funny, even if my life depended on it. The humour is often so on the nose and campy, thus I fully understand it is not for everyone.
Besides the humour, I love the “slow burn” romance of this series, I understand and more crucially, Believe the mutual care and love the main characters feel for each other. I am extremely grateful to the writers and actors for this tasty morsel.
To balance the review out, I also wish to share my one annoyance about the story: the plot progression relies too heavily on miscommunication. I believe it goes against Shin Seo Ri’s character to hide from Cha Se Gye his brothers' scheming and threats (which are also becoming repetitive with the aunt and fiancee).
The end:
It truly became too repetative and too reliant on the side charecters as well as fallen into the product placement hell. God damn, and it had real potential...

totally entertaining ?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review for My Royal NemesisMy Royal Nemesis has officially become my latest obsession! Every episode keeps me hooked and leaves me wanting more. The story is fresh, entertaining, and perfectly balances romance, comedy, and fantasy. The chemistry between the leads is incredible, and their interactions are one of the best parts of the drama.
I especially love how strong and charismatic the female lead is. The drama delivers both hilarious and emotional moments, making every episode enjoyable from start to finish. The acting, visuals, and overall atmosphere are absolutely amazing.
If you enjoy enemies-to-lovers romance, great chemistry, and a fun yet heartfelt storyline, this drama is a must-watch. It has completely captured my attention and quickly became one of my favorites.
Rating: 10/10 ⭐❤️

THE enemies-to-lovers romcom
Finally, in the Lord's year of 2026, we finally have a Korean rom-com that ACTUALLY does both the romance and comedy right. Electric chemistry and a fast moving plot line with mind-bending twists that have you at the edge of your seat. The showstopper is the ML, Cha Se-Gye. It's been so long seeing the cold, arrogant CEO trope done right. Often times, they are straight-up assholes who are hyper-aggressive to prove their masculinity. Don't get me wrong, he's still an ass but NOT to her. I'm so soft for the ML is cold to everyone else but the FL cliche. And don't get me started on his eyes. The way he looked at her made me feel like I should be looking the other way. He's such yearner and his love language is definitely touch.
There was some doubt about the FL, since the actress fits the villain role so well. Lemme tell you, Seo-Ri blew it out of the park. Her vigor for justice and her energy to live life to the fullest is so well-done. She's such a lively character and it's no wonder Cha Se-Gye fell so hard for her.
The ending was also just so beautiful. I had low hopes since many dramas currently released has not been able to stick the ending. The finale is so important to me, it leaves such a bad taste when it's not done right. Thankfully, everyone's stories were wrapped so neatly and it truly was a happily ever after.

everything. everything's done well about MRN
okay, so this is gonna take a while since i wanna talk about a pair of things. first of all, ngl i dont think i wasnt expecting much from this (was clearly wrong) when i started it, i dont think the first episode really got me ? i mightve watched it just because i was bored so i wasnt thinking exactly idk, im not saying it was boring (it isnt ofc) but idk, it was just there. but maybe one of the reasons couldve been the fact that it was reincarnation. i think is a very used trope in the kdrama industry that i wasnt happy about it but i gave it a chance. while watching the second episode i did end up more intrigued in everything and after episode four i kept thinking about them, my entire scomed got filled about it, something i do but not entirely PLUS ive seen the four episodes like 5 times, its also something im not used to doing.and, speaking of which, i dont think something will top watching MRN while airing because seeing people talking about the details on twt was an amazing experience. im gonna miss it, it doesnt matter how many times i watch it, seeing it live (?) is something else.
^ i wanna praise the team's work, too. the script writers, directors etc etc, they did such a good job, the first half had this parallel with the other half, seori being dressed with a red sweater when she got hit with the doom truck just like when she got poisoned in the first episode with the hanbok and i could keep giving examples. they took care of all of these details i know no other drama had done it.
segye had his problems with his family, with being accused of things he didnt do but after meeting seori he tried to be better and it was okay if he just let out those emotions, like yelling at seori I MEAN, he was wrong when he told her he would defend her and yelled at her but he realized that and thats okay, no one's perfect, even if theyre fictional. perfect is boring. segye was realistic and i loved him for that.
seori also had these struggles and ended up learning she kind of needed to go through pain to be happier, to feel joy even tho she went through a lot in both of her lives.
its funny how MRN used a lot of clichés that are so common in kdramas (the doom truck, reincarnation and the chaebol x "poor girl") but they gave it a new pov its amazing.
something i need to complain its the amount of episodes. not only because i loved shinsegye dynamic, but because of the plot. i kept wondering what happened to segye's father. like, his mom was dead, but, what about him? no one mentioned him, i think only his grandpa at the last episode, im not sure if it was him, but it was weird idk it didnt matter obviously but they couldve explored segye's background. and, seori's coworker i dont even rememeber her name😭 but i didn't get the point of showing she was bad/mean to seori if they didnt show why was she being bad, like, what was actually the reason ? ALSO, when did jihyo become good to her, i think she just started doing it just because ? or maybe i dont remember
but yeah, anyways, this is just something tiny so i can let it pass because it kinda became one of my fav dramas lmaao
