Riveting performances but I disliked main characters

I was excited to see Guo Yu Xin's new drama being talked about in reddit. Got to watch it today and I must say that it was a rollercoaster ride. While I enjoyed the performance by both Guo Yu Xin and Liu Yu Hang, this is one of those dramas I am fine watching it once.

What I liked:
1. Acting - I am a fan of Guo Yu Xin so I knew she was going to nail her role here. This is my first time watching Liu Yu Hang and I was impressed by his performance. It broke my heart to see him cry.
2. Romance - For me, it was painful watching their transactional relationship because I felt ML crossed the line a few times and FL was clearly uncomfortable about it. Once they were friends, then I was invested in their relationship. The intimate scenes were full of passion & desire, kudos to GYX & LYH for excellent acting. The height difference was very notable here but wasn't as jarring as Ke Chun - Yu Yin.
3. Supporting characters - I liked ML's two male friends very much. His supposed white moonlight and admirer were ok after all. I also liked FL's grandma.
4. Styling - I really liked ML's styling as it matched his brooding energy. FL's outfits were mostly good except for that swimsuit, which looked like night gown. GYX wore a gliterry pale yellow dress which is memorable but too whimsical.

What I disliked:
1. Breakup - I hated the breakup & longterm separation and I blamed it on FL's immaturity. I understand that she had hard time dealing with her feelings but she shouldn't be mad at ML for too long because it wasn't his fault. That reconciliation scene was too short!
2. Antagonists - Now I see ML's mother as the main antagonist. Wow she was really something and I won't be wishing her Happy Mother's Day tomorrow.
3. Main characters - Now I hate to write this but I didn't like both ML & FL. There was too much misery. ML was too aggressive and unhinged at the start but later was ok once he took on the friend role. I felt like the first act could be shortened so ML could be more likeable. FL was ok at the start but I disliked her for turning her back against ML in the third act.

Felt like reading a Romance Novel!

This story is filled with romance, the promise of passion and intensity and hardcore love! My first time seeing ML on-screen and man can he act. SO NATURAL in his expressions. He could be quiet, but damn scary in his intensity. Deadly & dangerous, the heroine is initially fearful of his dark reputation, but he hires her as a girlfriend and slowly draws her into his world. Eventually stealing her heart. When he threw that paper plane, and when he later on again threw the paper plane at her..such a symbolism of the circle of love they been through in their long journey. Both could stand head to head and challenge each other with their pain and anger, but also embrace each other with all their migh. ML was on the verge of being a Anti-hero, he was so broken, and only she could bring those pieces together. This couple touched me greatly.

Vehicular assault? Pool dunking? Choking? Babe, it's romance!

This short drama opens with an actual hit-and-run, and instead of jail time, the guy gets a girlfriend. And we’re just... okay with that?

The ML is every vertical CEO cliché turned up to 11, cold, controlling, emotionally constipated, but plot twist: it’s all a frame job! He's not evil, just misunderstood (and occasionally a menace). Nurses lie, moms betray, and he’s out here getting canceled for crimes he didn’t commit while still finding time to forcibly dunk her in a pool for not kissing him. Iconic behavior, really.

The FL? Smarter than the script lets her be, with backbone to match. Watching her try to navigate emotional landmines while dodging literal false accusations is weirdly impressive.

✨ Trope buffet includes:
Contract relationship (classic)
Childhood connection (obviously)
Manhandling = flirting (somehow still hot?)
One bed (you know it’s there)
Choking (gross, but check)
“I’m a monster” energy (not really tho)
Massive conspiracy (because why not)

Honestly? It's trashy in the smartest possible way. They knew you'd judge him based on the tropes—and they let you. That's the real twist.

Watch it for: juicy tropes, chaotic accusations, and aggressively shirtless plot twists
Skip it if: you can’t forgive pool dunking or need consistent morals

3.5 stars and one aggressive contract girlfriend agreement later, I only slightly regret it.

Not the usual romantic drama

Since I saw the guy in Your Highness Class Monitor, I've been wishing to watch more of his drama but, he has only minimal roles.

Thankfully short Cdramas has been popular nowadays and I saw him again.
For me, he's such a good actor.
His expressions, his smile, his height and everything about him is just so perfect!😍

While I saw the FL in some short Cdramas. She acted well though I think her expressions could be improve.

In this drama, the guy is so broken since his mother never showed real concern/love for him. He's seeking for her attention but, she never gave it to him.

Until she meet the daughter of the person who saved him.
He fell in love with her at first sight.
Him acting so tough like a gangster but she saw the best of him.

They fell hard.
I thought no one could ever break them.
Until the doctor drop the truth.
Her, so young and heartbroken; she broke up with him and flew abroad.

But when love is real and deep, even how many years they are separated, their hearts still shout each other's name.
That bathroom scene was so hot. 😍

I really love watching their kissing scenes.
I think it's more than 5 times.
Oh, how I love this drama!
Highly recommended!

Pouco a pouco...

Eu sei que há outra versão desse drama (com mudanças, é claro), mas agora não me recordo exatamente qual seja para relacionar as páginas e citar aqui, mas eu AMO a atriz Guo Yu Xin. Fico extremamente feliz em ver a evolução da sua atuação, principalmente nas cenas mais intensas de beijo e íntimas, já que ela geralmente é reservada em outros dramas.
Eu acredito que já tenha visto algum drama com este ator, mas não tenho nenhum marcado aqui, mas sua atuação é muito boa também. Acredito que o conjunto de: roteiro, produção e atores realmente faça a diferença em um drama chinês.
Aqui a FL é personificação de namorada e o ML a contrata por um mês (o complemento não vou dizer para não dar grandes spoilers).
São 3 horas e uns minutos e você não vê o tempo passar direito, porque a história do ML e da FL é envolvente e com vários mistérios a respeito do ML, só foi um pouquinho cansativo quando havia interferências, mas nada que me fizesse revirar os olhos fortemente. A única coisa que este drama pecou foi no final..

8 anos, apesar desse tempo que ao meu ver foi um tanto quanto exagerado, a emoção deles na hora de se casar e o pós foi muito fria comparada a toda intensidade do relacionamento 8 anos antes e até em seu reencontro.
