Sincerity & Lots of Cheese

*Minor Spoilers*

The story isn’t all that complex but what really holds up this drama is how adorable and funny the ML and FL are and their hurdles to being together. The story starts out with the ML teaching the FL how to date her crush who is back from being abroad. Of course, feelings start to develop as well as other challenges.

The FL:
Something I love about this drama is that the FL (Jiang Yue) doesn’t get all timid and nervous around the ML. I think this is primarily due to the fact that she only sees him as a subordinate and so there’s really no awkwardness when he is around or comes into her home. Even as they develop a closeness she still seems incredibly comfortable with him in her home. I appreciate this so much because it's not very often we see a FL be relaxed and comfortable with a male in their home.

The ML:
Jia Xin is adorable, sweet, and very thoughtful. Even before he realizes his feelings for the FL he is supportive and caring towards her. There really isn’t any sort of hate to love. Yes, they bicker here and there but there’s no distance between them. Even in the beginning when she’s tough on him and he calls her a “she-devil boss” it isn’t exactly ill-willed.

The 2FL:
Mostly I find Li Yan Ran incredibly annoying. Constantly whining. Constantly making a fool of herself. Clinging to the ML-like a delusional little child. HOWEVER, she has 1 really nice saving grace which is that she doesn’t go after the FL in a professional sense. Yes, she does try to keep the ML and FL away from each other but she never goes after her professionally. I respect her for that but that’s about it in regards to liking her.

The 2ML:
Honestly, there’s not much to say about Xu Ning Yuan. He’s just kinda there to be the love rival but other than the FL having an old crush on him, he’s of no real competition. He’s not as good-looking. He’s pretty boring. He’s pretty much the male equivalent to the FL at the beginning of the drama. I didn't find him very interesting in any way.

The Side Couples:

1. The FL’s best friend (Jing Jing) and her husband - I liked these 2 and I honestly wanted more from their story. It felt a little incomplete to me. I want more about why he did what he did. It was explained but personally, I could have used more explanation. Also, did she explain everything to her fans? Did they accept her back? It was all sort of glossed over.

2. The ML’s friend and FL’s co-worker/friend - Very cute but I didn’t care about their relationship. It was boring compared to the other relationships. I want good things for them but I don’t care to watch it, you know? *shrug*

Final Thoughts:
I debated what to rate this drama. For me, it’s really somewhere between a 7.5-8. I would still recommend it but what is entertaining about this drama is the relationship and not much else so when they focused on other things, I found myself zoning out. The cute moments are really really stinking cute, but the business end of it was really boring for me. Also, I thought racing would be a bigger part of the story. (‘‘Twas not)

Overall, this drama is a rom-com through and through. It’s funny and cute, with the right amount of jealousy and conflict. What it lacks in complexity and consistency, it makes up for in laughs and heart flutters.

Would Recommend to rom-com lovers
Maybe Re-watch (but with skipping)

I actually enjoyed this drama its fun amazing chemistry between leads
good to have drama that is diffrent with a strong FL and typical clumsy one and no toxic ex gf or bf..i actually liked the clingy girl always around the male lead she was funny and did not cause typical unrealistic drama..so in overall its a good drama to watch and enjoy your time with funny moments and pleasant actors

Lover-boy coded! Light hearted Drama with a female lead that is incompetent in love.

I wonder why I hadn't come across this before because this is so damn good. It is just like eating your favorite chocolate.

I won't nitpick the story because it doesn't have that kind of depth. There were a few things that didn't go well with the theme of the drama, the emotions just didn't align well for me atleast. But I can get over that part because the rest of it was so damn good.

Even the cliches were done right. Give me some more of this.

Fluffy Drama with Hot Couple

Chill. Super fluffy. ML’s acting left much to be desired but he was dang easy on the eyes. He did get better over the episodes. Kinda. FL was awesome. She was authoritative and cold boss lady without being obnoxious and warm in the right places. The chemistry was not on fire but the kisses started and dang!! Explosion. They were so touchy that it was like how new couples really are. There were no silly misunderstandings. The couple communicated and supported each other. It was a fun light watch. The side couples didn’t take over the stage. The one office girl and ML’s friend did get a lot of screen time but they at least weren’t overly annoying and you could easily skip their scenes.

Charming noona romance that hits the right spots!

I am sucker for noona romances and this show ticked all my fancy little boxes. What I appreciate best is how different the male character Jiaxin from other male leads in similar shows. His character is very soft spoken and not a single hint of overbearing ceo type. It is refreshing. While he isn’t the prettiest male actor/idol out there, his character made it all up for him. Can’t Jiaxin be any more perfect? Just saying.

I can’t really say any negative about the acting. I actually like the female lead and the cast. Nothing special about the story, but I like how they mixed in digital tech and social media issues. Good balance of romance and comedy. I had lots of laughs and really enjoyed the episodes. Not too much angst, just the right bits. I must warn you though, there are some really corny scenes, so watch out.

This is perfect to binge watch after a really serious angsty drama. Will surely put a smile in your face.

One of my favorite cdrama

I just love this drama. The chemistry was amazing and the love story between the lead was beautiful to me. They got together a bit late but we still got sweet moments before that. I like the second couple too, they were cute. Both couples had healthy and mature relationships. I love that there was no breakups for the couples and for once I found the second leads not to much annoying. I had a feeling from the beginning that they would end up together 😉 I actually cried when she proposed to him🩷

CHEMISTRY CHEMISTRY CHEMISTRY

“Why Women Love” is a beautiful but realistic drama depicting the struggles of finding love, and it does not disappoint. The story of Jiangyue and Jiaxin will absolutely melt your heart.

And so will their chemistry!!! It is NEXT LEVEL. Even when they’re not touching, it almost feels like they can’t keep their hands off each other. And when they finally get together, it’s full on explosive.

The slow burn romance may try your patience, and there may be times when the FL makes you frustrated with how she holds her herself back, even to the extent of hurting the ML. But the way the show works through her deep, deep hurts and fears is beautiful. In the end, everything is so worth it. They become a couple that is strong, adorable, and unwavering in their love. No messy break ups. No pointless fights. Just love.

The cast is great. The supporting cast will make you fall in love with them, and the two leads are truly exceptional. Wang Zi Yi delivered a ML that may have just become my new favorite.

Sizzling chemistry but story feels dragged on sometimes.

The chemistry was one of the best I've seen in a drama. It's a mature drama even though there is a love triangle and it takes 18 episodes to resolve. The FL is someone who has never dated before and has a tough time feeling love. The ML is younger than the FL by eight years and slowly erodes away the hardness in her heart. Everytime these two were on screen it made my heart flutter. Even the small moments like holding hands, helping her after she got drunk made my heart flutter.

The only downside about this drama is that it takes long to mature. They could've removed 2 episodes and the plotline wouldn't have changed at all.

The longer drama time has been balanced with the amazing romance of the cast. I always thought Gina Jin was beautiful ever since I saw her in You Are My Glory. So I tried this with her as the main cast.

A simple fluffy light hearted watch!

Originally, I wasn't planning to watch this drama because of the age gap aspect because personally I am not a big fan of age gap dramas. However, I came across lots of clips of the drama on instagram and tiktok, and finally I decided to watch this drama. I had watched love is sweet before this and absolutely loved it, and why women love and love is sweet are very similar in many aspects and so if you liked love is sweet you'll love this one.

The plot wasn't really anything extraordinary, it was a simple story about the office workers and a romance between a younger man and older woman. This show according to me actually did the age gap right, the male lead was childish and cute while the female lead was mature and serious but it didn't feel awkward in any way. She became childish when she was around him and he became mature when he was around her and I found that very sweet that they could show other sides of them to each other. There was a love triangle, or square (idk at one point I lost track) and I found that very draggy/boring and in the beginning the second female lead really got on my nerves because of the way she acted. After she evolved near the end, I did start liking her a bit but before that I would actually get annoyed and skip most scenes with her . (okay ngl I was actually happy that she ended up with the second male lead though). I actually really enjoyed that they we got to see a little bit of all the secondary character's lives, I found that refreshing during when the show would slow it's pace.

The acting wasn't the very best, it was okay considering the male lead is an idol and doesn't have much experience I thought he did okay. The chemistry between the leads was actually amazing, there were sparks everywhere whether they were playful around each other or being all romantic with each other or even fighting the sparks were always there. I actually really loved the ost of the drama, I though they were really catchy songs and were used properly in each scene. I probably would rewatch it when I want to watch a light-hearted drama, but I found it slightly slow in it's pace to actually rewatch from beginning to end

Overall, a very cute fluffy watch that I enjoyed watching and would probably rewatch soon. If you like cute office romances, that make you smile throughout this one is for you!

Noona romance done right!

I enjoy watching older female-younger guy romance (wishful thinking) and Why Women Love is the best noona romance I have watched, so far!

What I like:
1) The length of the series - 24 episodes is the perfect number of episodes.
2) Female lead characterisation - ❤️ that Jiangyue is career-focused but not uptight. Yes, she is a workaholic but she makes time for her best friends. Jin Chen was so radiant in this role. She reminds me of TWICE's Nayeon somehow.
3) Male lead characterisation - ❤️ Jia Xin 's growth throughout the series. He started as a bratty rich kid but once he saw his boss's vulnerability and understands her perspective, he accepts his role and is attuned to her needs. I also like an introspective male character. I like his styling (both hair & clothes) - I find Zi Yi resembles Gon of Vanner.
4) Chemistry between Jin Chen and Wang Zi Yi - Combustible chemistry and their kissing scenes🔥. Both are visually arresting.
5) Ending - I like the award ceremony scene. I expected the proposal to be different and kinda happy it turns out to be true. Given the characterisation of Jiangyue and Jia Xin, it is believable.

What I dislike:
1) Supporting characters - Jing Jing and Duo Xi's love stories were underdeveloped. I'd like to see more of Jing Jing's love story because it's second chance romance involving mature characters.
2) Li Yan Ran - annoying! It's hard to develop empathy for a character that doesn't understand personal boundary.
3) Sub-plot - I think the office rival plot can be executed better.

Favourite scene:
When Jiangyue was given gifts by Zi Yi. I love the meaning attached to each gift!

Perfect romcom for gloomy days, and what a chemistry between the lead coup’e

This drama required the rule of 4 episodes for me to get a good feeling of what it is… and what a great surprise. Light fluffy romance … with off-the-charts chemistry between the 2 leads. That’s my second drama with Jin Chen, and I start wondering if she is the one bringing the best out of her partner (other watched … also, how nice that her voice is not dubbed by another actress as is usually the case in C-dramas… this no baby voice. She is so natural in her acting that it is not hard to believe that younger people would fall for her…special mention to the Ml, Wang Zi Yi, quite recent in the movie industry, initially, he was the one making me reluctant to give it a chance … but he’s really good in his role. So, all in all, great time watching this drama, couldn’t help but smile or laugh throughout, and have butterflies too
(I used to be a huge fan of kdramas, but I must say that I find c -dramas more satisfying from a healthy romance perspective, and are not shy with skinship and kisses, as expected from a mature relationship)
