Damn i hated the ending

The series plot was really good. The starting of the story actors everything was fantastic until the ending. They ruined the series for me with that ending. Not because siwat died. But they rushed the ending . It was so clear. Looked like they wanted to finsih the series at the 8th episode. 2 poeple died. Not a single soul seen crying for their loved one. Both were looking like oh yeah another death let's move on. And within 3 months they looked fine. Like what the hell bro. Make it make sense. It's not like they loved eachother like for 2 months. It was eternal and that guy didn't even grief for a minute. Tbh i cried for siwat more than khun. Damn idk how to curse the director or whoever planned this ending. Starting went so welll that they had to ruin the ending. The ending disappointed me a lot. And it's not even about siwat dying but the way they made it seem like it's not a big deal. Manh I'm so mad . Why did i even waited for a whole week just to get a forced ending. Zero satisfaction i swear. Cursed series for real.

A Breathtaking Start to an Epic BL Fantasy which Started as a Masterpiece but Collapsed by the End

Rated a 10 out of 10 at the start but now an 8 out of 10.

The Cursed Love started as an absolutely epic series. The opening was everything I hoped for and more. From the very first scene, it pulls you in with its powerful atmosphere, striking visuals, and a sense of mystery that lingers long after. The forest and mountain scenery are breathtaking. Lush, cinematic, and completely immersive. Every shot feels intentional, from the vibrant greens of nature to the magical aura layered throughout the landscape.

The action scenes in the early episodes are sharp and intense, blending fantasy elements with emotional weight. The production quality is genuinely impressive. The costumes, the lighting, the music. Everything comes together to create a believable and hauntingly magical world. The flashbacks add depth and tease a rich backstory that felt exciting to explore.
This was my first time seeing Au and Ongsa on screen and they were incredible. Their chemistry is so natural. The way they look at each other and that quiet overnight moment were soft, intimate, and genuinely moving. Their connection felt fated and promised something deeper than a typical romance. The entire vibe even reminded me of The Sign with its blend of mystery, fantasy, and aching emotion.

But as the series continued, the issues started piling up. The plot became messy and confusing with too many threads and not enough clarity. The romance between the main leads almost disappeared, leaving very little emotional progression. The villains kept shooting nonstop and it felt like characters were dying just for the sake of it. The GL couple and the second couple had no real development and their kiss at the end felt forced. The fighting scenes and stunt work became weaker over time and the product placement advertisements were distracting. Worst of all was the ending. It was rushed, incomplete, and filled with missing pieces, leaving the story feeling unfinished.

Overall, the scenery is stunning and the wind, fire, and water magic is a highlight, but the messy plot and wasted potential of such a strong cast turned what began as a perfect ten into a disappointing eight.

apt title

Overall: the slow pacing and nonsense actions took me out of the Indiana Jones-like plot/the romance. 10 episodes. Aired on Ayu Entertainment Official YouTube channel https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtIeDs4zbPZjMjeNvgtLHqdH4QEjtodZO&si=L4GffCzTeGB5xvwH

Content Warnings: murders in the present and the past, blood, fight, manipulation, past drugging

What I Liked
- initial premise/they tried something different
- vistas
- that the hot tempered character did not have a certain power

Room For Improvement
- love triangle (wish they had been innovative with this in the present)
- bordered on campy at parts
- cookie cutter villains
- nonsense character actions/reactions, the very sudden character redemption arcs/switching allegiances
- lack of development for the m/m side couple and their sad ending
- that ending was not it, they should have either explained a bit more at the very end or kept it at tragedy

Poor development of the story… expected a better drama.

Not worth watching. Every new episode is worst than the previous one.
I thought the story could improve but nah…
Acting is way too bad, the fights, the dialogues… omg the story is so predictable 1000%.
Transition between scenes is very bad.
They also tried to include some adds from the sponsors… it’s a mix of everything!

and it seems that I need to write a lot more so the opinion get published as there’s a minimum of characters to be in the review. So I hope this last paragraph helps me to complete it.

1% BL Romance, 99% Chaos

The Cursed Love has a great premise, but I don’t think it was executed well. Watching this series feels like solving abstract algebra — it made me question whether I was slow or something, because most of the time I had no idea what was happening. But honestly? I don’t think that’s the case. I’ve watched over 200 BL series, and even the most complex one I’ve seen — 4Minutes — still made complete sense to me. This one? Not so much.

I get that the plot revolves around reincarnation — all three characters coming back to life and trying to change their fate — but like I said, it wasn’t carried out properly. The script is messy and all over the place, and so many things just don’t make sense. Like… someone gets struck by lightning and suddenly becomes a zombie?

It’s a shame because the actors can definitely act, especially considering they’re rookies. They deserved a much better plot and script. There is chemistry between the leads, but the sweet moments are so limited. And because the romance clearly isn’t the main focus, it’s hard to connect emotionally. If you’re here for pure BL romance, I’m warning you now — stay away.

Every episode throws in some exaggerated scene or over-the-top event, to the point where it becomes unbelievable. Episode 1 already feels like a climax because of how extreme everything is. My brain was overwhelmed from the start. Still, out of curiosity — and because I like giving shows the benefit of the doubt — I continued watching. It does get slightly better around episode 6, and I finally understood some parts… but the overall chaos was still too much.

For a supernatural/action series, the episodes should have been longer. It really feels like they squeezed the entire story into just 8 episodes. Even the ending was unsatisfying and rushed.

That said, the things I did like were the actors, the cinematography, the filming location, and the OST.

All in all, this is the most disorganized BL series I’ve ever watched. I’m sorry, but whoever wrote and directed this must’ve been out of their mind — or not entirely sober while making it.

Legends and non - linear logic

If you want a recommendation for a BL that gives Indiana Jones × Avatar: The Last Airbender vibes, do I have the one for you! Let me point you to this. It's not as good though but it's there!

The lore is this - there was an ancient city called Tambralinga, founded by four element benders - Wind, Water, Fire and Earth, that has been lost for centuries now, ever since one of the four founders of the city declared a rebellion in order to gain full control of the city and its neighbouring regions and by an extent, just absolute power. Knowing this, the three other founders managed to lock the soul of the fourth in an enchanted box and hid the city in the mountains of Nakhon Si Thammarat.
In the present day, there are multiple people and groups looking for the city, because inside it is a lost treasure that could help each of them with their pursuits - personal gain, a longtime dream or fulfilling a prophecy.

The story basically picks up from zero, with no real context and we get three seperate timelines - one of the founders in the past, the second of a past where some secondary characters tried to find the city and finally, the present, where the leads themselves hope to find it.

I'm always an advocate for a well written story, honestly, consistency over innovation for me because the faux - pas with having complete originality is that you often lose track of what makes it so. Even then, I have to give some points for the story they came up with, it was truly innovative and had some semblance of originality to it - but in trying to make something exciting they completely messed up the execution.

The most coherent timeline of the lot is set in the ancient city, even though the actions and motivations are inexplicable nonsense, it makes sense as a timeline. We get the backstory behind the fall of the city - including details of all the romantic pasts of the leads and supporting characters and a glimpse into what went down between the four founders as the city fell. It's not the most fleshed out but yes it made sense.

The other two - not so much.

The present is the timeline that is most important, it is a culmination of all the actions undertaken by different characters landing upon the heads of the leads, leaving them to deal with the consequences. We have Siwat - who is looking for the city because it was his father Michael's lifelong goal, because he believed there was something in there that could help Siwat. There's Khun - who wants nothing to do with the city because it was in pursuit of it that his father died. So when Siwat shows up asking for his help, he immediately refused and asks him to leave. Because it was by helping Siwat's dad that his father died.

This past - with both their fathers - is the worst one. It has no fantasy elements, it is simply a means to provide more context to the inner conflicts and motivations of the leads and other characters. But it makes no sense. They say they found the city in one episode, they say they didn't in another. They say that Khun clearly remembers that it was during the mission to find Tambralinga that Siwat's father caused Khun's father's death, and in another we find that Michael was nowhere near the country when it happened and the mission was called off at that point?? None of it made sense.

The story is non - linear, jumping between the three timelines and incredibly confusing. There are over ten characters who seemingly play an important role in the story but from the beginning that it's just the plot that's convoluted, but neither it nor the characters have any real depth.

We have a bunch of villians - Siwat's step mother and her lover, and an evil tweed wearing professor Thakoon, who very clearly come off as cartoonish. The only thing the evil professor didn't do was twirl his faint mustache while deep in thought, otherwise they read as Looney Tunes characters.

Then the protagonists. With Siwat and Khun we have Thara and his mother (in the present), and both their fathers (in the past) who are all presented as the absolute good who can do no wrong, and though I was pleasantly surprised to see some cracks in the stereotype, all of the writing just felt very one - dimensional. Things happen because the script said so - there's no internal conflict (when there clearly should be) and they missed a massive chance to make a romance of epic proportions because Siwat and Khun? Yeah, they're reincarnations of Wind and Fire elementals, along with Thara, the Water elemental.
I know this was a soulmates kind of story but it's unacceptable that the plot moves along because they've recognised that fact. There needs to be depth there - pain, anguish, the push and pull between past and present feelings and events. Maybe it was because Thara was salty about being the third wheel in both timelines but we got a severely watered down version.

The character motivations are one - dimensional when they shouldn't be, the story is both extremely clear but the logic is not clear enough, it's all a very rich tapestry. There's no huge plot twists, it all moves along for the sake of it.

The romance too, most importantly, it moved along because it needed to be moved along. I love a good soulmates story but falling in love just because you were in love centuries ago doesn't work. The chemistry between the leads was decent but again, if you want me to believe they're in love, I need to see it develop, even just a bit.

That ending though, worst part of the series by the longest shot, it was laughable because you do not write endings like that that for stories like this. Maybe you do but with this particular kind of execution it was entirely unexpected and unnecessary, I mean I'm not even angry, I'm just.. well maybe I am. That should have been such a sad ending but ooh boy, it was just incredibly bad - so bad it actually made me bring down my rating.

But there's no way they manufactured this series intending for it to be as unintentionally hilarious as it was, it was mostly fun and a nice glimpse into what "could be", but there's still a long way to go as far it comes to blending myths and legends with fiction.

6.75/10

Mystic Force Thai Style

What in the Mystic Force Power Rangers Khemjira style did I just watch. I would be lying if I said I wasn't entertained. I truly was but not in the way I should have been. The finale goes down in the books as one of the most unbelievable endings ever. Everyone who needed to die, did and even those who didn't. Oh well, Kor, them's the brakes as they say. They did you dirty.

One bonus that I appreciated was the unfamiliar fresh faces. Sometimes a palate cleanser is needed to appreciate the new. For the most part, the acting was okay to decent. Funny when it was supposed to be and even when it shouldn't. Like how many times is Maria supposed to be elegantly poised by a campsite, like she's on a safari and not a murderous rampage. Kor gets shot point blank range to his chest, has the energy to break someone's neck and then poetically dies. With or with out trackers, Dean keeps showing up at the right time to assist. Let's just say their mystic powers needed a hearty lunch, because those little puffs were not it. Lastly, what was Siwat? A reincarnated Naga or Sleeping Beauty? The kiss to awaken him caused a little snickering on my part. How many genres were they going to touch on?

I'm certainly not saying it's bad but you know the errors in script, pacing at times, and graphics could be better. Thara, I really felt it for you. Past, present and future present, Siwat is not for you. I actually loved that Siwat died taking down the bad guy. Like some atonement for the pain he caused, but to bring him back again, in the same environment for Thara to lose again, is some brutal work. I felt more chemistry between TharaSiwat than KhunSiwat. So they couldn't kill Kate and leave Kor? Or bring him back, too? Nope, that's asking for too much.

The story kept moving which was a huge plus, tied up all the ends and did entertain. So in a way it achieved it's purpose. I will like to see the actors again. I'd probably rewatch at some time just for the laughs. Overall, it was okay.

Very Different One!!

One of the Very Different Story Line , Actors are Good and the OST is Literally the best and I literally listen to every single day.
But there are some improvements in the drama . I Feel like ending was Rushed also I felt sometimes Actors had hard time expressing some feelings , For Example at the end Siwat was literally dying and No single person went near him or cried or expressed their grief. Overall Drama was good , Lead chemistry is also good . It would be better If Execution and Episodes were prolonged so that story gets a proper end.

The Cursed Love: When Real Chemistry Puts the Pretenders to Shame

"The Cursed Love" is hands down one of the best BL series I've seen in a long time. From the very first episode, it completely captured my heart. The acting is phenomenal-raw, real, and emotionally charged. The chemistry between the main leads is absolutely electric; you can feel every glance, every touch, every emotion they share. Considering this is their first series together, it's incredible how natural and effortless their connection feels.

The OST is breathtakingly beautiful-every song perfectly complements the story and deepens the emotional impact of each scene. It's rare to find a soundtrack that feels like an essential part of the storytelling, but here it truly shines.

And yes, let's talk about that first NC scene. It was beautiful. Sensual, emotional, and tastefully done. You could clearly see how much they wanted each other-no awkwardness, no hesitation-just pure, genuine passion. They completely dissolved into each other, enjoying the moment to the fullest. It was intimate, meaningful, and done with artistic grace.

Now, to those constantly writing comments like "omg don't let them kiss again" or "why is this scene so weird"-🙄 please. These actors delivered performances that many long-time screen partners can't even come close to. Their kisses? Perfect-intense, emotional, and full of life. None of those stiff, lifeless "dead fish" kisses we've seen elsewhere. Maybe some others should take notes on what real on-screen chemistry looks like.

Popularity and millions of followers don't always equal quality. Sometimes the truly talented ones don't get the spotlight they deserve because the industry keeps feeding viewers the same overused, predictable stories. "The Cursed Love" dares to be different-strong acting, genuine chemistry, and a plot that's fresh and engaging.

I'm enjoying every single episode, every single moment. This series is pure quality and deserves every bit of praise it's getting-and then some.

Please Watch

I see a lot of people are upset at the ending and people are being deterred from watching, but it’s a fun watch and really different from a lot of stuff you see normally. I really enjoyed it, and I know other people who still recommend it. It’s an original adventure/supernatural drama that takes place in a different area of Thailand that is not normally showcased in dramas, it has great costuming, good effects for the budget, and the actors are SO good. I’ll rewatch it many times despite the end

This was definitely a strong contender for my “best of the year” list because it was genuinely engaging. I really enjoyed the series, especially since I love fantasy stories that blend intense romance with supernatural elements. It carried such an epic vibe, weaving in cultural influences from Hinduism and Buddhism, which made it stand out from the usual everyday romance plots. From the very first episode, it set a mysterious and intense tone, with stunning natural scenery, vibrant cinematography, well crafted visual effects that brought the curses and powers to life, and beautiful costumes inspired by the mythical past of the lost city of Tambralinga.

It wasn’t perfect, but it kept me hooked, at least until the last two episodes, when things really fell apart. I kind of expected Siwat wouldn’t survive, but the ending felt rushed, incoherent, and inconclusive, hinting at a possible second season that we’ll probably never get. Overall, the acting was decent, though the cast struggled to fully convey emotions in the most dramatic scenes. Au and Ongsa are adorable together, and the OST is absolutely breathtaking.

In the end, the show couldn’t live up to its own ambitions, which is a shame because it had the potential to be truly epic.
